  • I guess it depends on how it worked. I am a bit iffy on it. A little something, something to help with the early game, especially for slow burn killers would be a nice quality of life, but it has the potential to be "too much."

I always preferred the idea of Lethal being base kit instead. Especially with how garbo some of the spawns are.

  • Bamboozle? I assume most people know how strong it is, but I am always met with this attitude that they want to mind game the survivor themselves. It is like... Sure, but Bamboozle could still save you from a lot of atrociously designed maps regardless. Not to be rude, but I do not feel a compulsion to outwit a survivor. I kind of just do it on the reg. 😎

Sadly this is from coming back from a long break from the game. I was interested in Wesker and had a decent time on the PTB. Live has been nonstop horrible matches. I had one match against OhTofu that was enjoyable. Besides that? Unbearable.

OhTofu plays like a survivor main, so it does not surprise me that you had a blast in that game. I am a bit jealous if I am being honest. It would be nice if more killers were on that soy.

So where did this whole meme post of "DbD is a party game" start? I can't seem to find any dev quotes where they said that. (I'm not saying it never happened but I can't seem to find an actual source for it to confirm it's actually something they said.)

It is not a meme. It is just a fact. Mario Kart is a more competitive game than DBD. And I doubt people from the Mario Kart community are asking where Nintendo made that claim. Lol?

  • @BlackRabies said:

Open the exit gate AND then escape. Swear the only reason they made this achievement was to encourage people play this map.

It would not even surprise me to be perfectly honest. This achievement should have been like those tome ones where there is a killer and survivor version. I would rather get twenty 4k games than 20 exit gate escapes. The ONE I got today was only because I was in a swf with my sister and we could pressure the gens together. The other 2 must have been on a "hide from the killer for 20 minutes" challenge.

  • I bought school girl Spirit before Sadako existed. I have no idea what I was thinking. Years of blasting death metal has rendered me partially deaf and I can't even play her against survivors that are not equally as impaired. That was one of the only DBD cosmetics I ever purchased. Along with Bubba's swag drip (w/o the hammer), Piggy Wiggly's envy, and the Ghostface (just the cloak) that should have been default.

  • Hey, it could have been worse. You could have gotten 10 games of RPD.

If the killer slugs you at 5 gens and your team doesn't come to get you at all. People have said just bleed out but it takes forever. I've been just DCing when this happens as it basically ruins my experience but with the DC penalty, you still have to wait. I can understand slugging being a tactic to put pressure but at 5 gens? I don't understand.

    What do you do?

If you don't pressure at 5 gens, when will you? Probably never...

Do not procrastinate. Slug the first guy you see and keep going from there. Sometimes I forget hooks even exist! You could be me, but with worse taste in waifu!

Definitely switch up your killers. Hag is absolutely terrible to play at higher mmr. Anyone with more than a couple hundred hours will easily know how to counter everything she has. I dont remember which killers came with the base game, but id highly recommend wraith. Ppl give him a lotta hate, but hes actually better than ppl give him credit for once you learn how to mind game with the bell. He can also be played very aggressively n that seems to make ppl panic. Might be your best option for base kit killers in high mmr. Try all the killers you have and find one you like that does better. Any of them are better than Hag.

(It makes me sad cuz i mained Hag many years ago when i started, but she totally sucks in the current build)

Hag was my first main before I committed to licensed killers, before I was sure I was going to spend money on the game. I kind of miss her. I loved placing traps by the hook... And people said it was bad, but man oh man did I wreck some kids with those hook traps. I remember the first game I went for a 4k slug and just drew on their corpses. I even made up lore where Hag was rejected at art school because all she did was draw triangles and she took up karate to vent her frustrations in a healthy manner. It explains her pallet break animation, at least. Rofl.

Honestly I'm with OhTofu on this. People are just used to demogorgon style hitboxes where they don't have to aim all that well. Cool that he's getting changed I guess

I think he is kind of insane pretending that bugs do not exist because he likes the hitbox size. Homie is mad bugged. I am like a normal gamer who rarely complains about bugs because I rarely run into them as others seem to. But Wesker? Ah ha ha ha...

Yeah, no, he is definitely buggy as hell and that is why people are complaining. Not because they suck unlike the man, the myth, the legend... The Tofu.

Too many killers are just eating the Endurance and the DS stun because there is no real punishment for doing so. 3 seconds isn't enough to make killers respect it. It makes for terrible gameplay and ruins the game all together. I am mainly a killer player and I find this to be boring to do and unfun for myself as well. I think DS deactivating at endgame is fair enough. It is legit open season on the scummy gameplay with how easy it is to tunnel with this change.

You find it boring to be able to pick up and secure a hook over slugging to avoid a stun? That is believable. Well, as a survivor main, I have fun getting straight back into the chase for 3 seconds and it would be boring if they lost me because of the 5 second stun.

No. It should stay during end game and give me a free escape because that IS fun. You can trust my opinion because I am actually a killer main. I was lying at first. I love when a survivor can force a free escape, it is not fair that they can't do that.

  • Hell nah. I ain't buying Leatherface again, not without barbecue and chill giving me benefits. They already took my masks, they aren't taking my Bubby too.

  • It does address camping though, that is the entire point why it exists as a perk... Like???

    It does something, bro. Trust.

  • Yes, everyone noticed back when Dredge was revealed.

  • @DoritoHead said:

So a 10k hour killer main could just not prestige a killer and get put in bot lobbies?

Hey, do not call us bots. That is rude and offensive. We have feelings, unlike robots. And honestly, the bot would probably play the game better than us anyway. So your insult doesn't even make sense, bro!

  • He thrusts into survivors with his tentacles. I mean, what else could it be?

  • Not to brag or anything, but I looped a zombie for 5 gens in the snowman suit. Get on my level, son.

  • I had to sign the agreement before unlocking him, on console. Not sure if PC players got the same tunneling terms of service notice or not, but I literally couldn't buy him until I accepted it. I did not read it, naturally, but I definitely signed it.

  • Any form of voice chat would be immersion breaking, not that it matters. It is kind of a multi-player staple. But as long as survivors are afraid of their own kind, we will never get it. They already know how toxic it will be based on how they see each other treating killers. Lol.

  • Hell nah, I am horrible at survivor. I am not about to play without hearing a terror radius. Maybe if it is a killer with a lullaby I will leave it alone, but otherwise, I am going to get rid of it. Can't you get rid of Pentimento anyway? I feel like I only ran into it once and it was such a non-issue as we rushed gens regardless.

  • @geni said:

Resident evil fans probably already know how the game plays, so they played nemesis last year, saw that nemesis doesnt feel as a unstoppable force like in the games, left disappointed and never came back, thats my theory

Eh... I am not sure. For one, Resident Evil 2/3 are small parts of Resident Evil as a whole. Beyond that, I joined for Nemesis and I am still here. I doubt I am alone. Do not get me wrong, I am sure you are partially correct. But that is FAR from the whole picture.

  • Kind of? I do not think he should be able to mori directly from a locker grab so that you could still DS or set up a flashlight save. Or whatever other counterplay they may add in the future. However, he should be able to drop and Mori from the floor... Like all other Mori...

  • Wesker's BDE exudes an aura of masculinity that frightens survivors from further away because he is such a Giga Chad. Gameplay has nothing to do with their game design. They just needed him to assert his dominance on survivors from wider ranges. The only reason they stopped short was so that you could still get value from Distressing when you play on the Game which was a name they chose based on Wesker's social life, by the way.

Dear TheLastHook . Everything you post in various threads comes from paranoid tunneling/camping killer who sees SWF everywhere he looks. Go out touch some grass.

The problem with that logic is that if this idea were hypothetically implemented, proxy camping killers would be more likely to hard camp. That might be good for reassurance value. But it does not really address the problem regardless and the last thing you need is to create an incentive for the killer to stay near hook just to see when the unhook happens. Surely, if the entire goal is to prevent the killer being near during an unhook, the last thing you would want is for the killer to feel they shouldn't leave the hook. It would just have the opposite reaction that you assume it would.

This is coming from a face camp God, by the way. Why do you think I would be worried about a bit of HUD manipulation? It literally wouldn't affect me in any way whatsoever. It is low-key just an idea that was not really thought about from both perspectives. It does not work. It wouldn't help.

  • I wouldn't know, I do not bother during the day because the queues are historically bad. Maybe the queue incentive system improves it, but I have not really gotten around to testing it. That being said, back when I was new, it was actually the opposite. At night, they took the gloves off. Lol.

  • Spirit, and not just for the eating Spirit joke. I actually like Boo Berry. Get it every year around October. Count Chocula has the better name, but honestly, there are way too many chocolate cereal to make it worth it. I do not even remember what the strawberry one is called. Frankenberry or something? Fail.

For me, Skilled Huntress on PS5. I'm at 34% currently with little to no farming. I try to farm at the exit gates if it's possible at the end, but most survivors are dicks and will dodge the hatchets even though they're thrown from a mile away and they're in no danger of not escaping.

This new escape RPD 20 times while opening the gates seems even more daunting

This is the one that made me not care about going for all achievements. I actually probably could as I got a lot of the ones people complain about already... But this? Yeah, no... I am not about to one trick Huntress for a freaking achievement. The new RPD one is just the cherry on top of not caring. I will never actively go for it. I probably could have gained a lot of progress playing survivor while Behavior increased its spawn rate to 50% or whatever, and everyone learning Wesker would make for ez escapes. But again, with Skilled Huntress as a bottle neck, I did not bother.

So you are blaming the survivor for being tunneled? How is it my fault that as soon as I get off hook, the killer comes straight after me again? As a solo q survivor, its extremely annoying to tunneled.

I would never blame the unhooked, solely, at least. The unhooker is often a huge part of why people get tunneled and of course the killer actively chooses to do it. But there are ways to make yourself a less enticing target and deter tunneling, I assume that was his point. The "git gud" crowd is not exactly known for their communication skills.

  • Iron Maiden, not only are they the best heavy metal band, but it is also her best perk. Other than that, it does not matter too much. It kind of depends on your style and half the perks do not work regardless.

  • It does feel pretty bad. Everyone hated mmr, but as a solo queue, I loved it to avoid these situations. With how loose mmr is, survivor is quite difficult to enjoy and killer is depressingly easy. So many of them just give up or DC and I do not even get a good match. Le sigh.

  • I can't say what I want to say without being rude, so I will just say this... Survivor opinions on killer skill are as relevant as a movie critic's opinion on a brain surgeon. Lol.

  • One look at Over the Hill Valentine's "OG" outfit has me thinking I am fine with never seeing a classic Nemesis. I am becoming Dark Tyrant. I can live without it, fam... Trash bag lingerie is fine, I guess.

  • I am not a huge fan of it. I guess survivors needed extra warning because this two pump chump can cross half the map with a double thrust.

  • I disagree, I feel he is great at countering hold W and his power is quite unique. The issue, as usual, is more that the survivor can dictate how his power is used. So in practice, sure, he is a bit more lackluster than we were anticipating. But comparing him to Sadako? Get yo mind right!

  • But if everyone agreed to vote to leave, surely they would just give the killer the 4k they are desperate for? If not, what IS the hold up? If you mean he is just bleeding out the last 2, it sucks, but it is also not worth adding a vote to end match feature. At worst you need to wait 4 minutes, which is annoying, but you will not even get halfway through a YouTube video with those odds. Ha ha ha...

  • Sadly I keep getting other killers when I am on survivor. On Wesker, I can tell the survivors are really disappointed I am Wesker, or something. They keep giving up and disconnecting for some reason. Is he really unfun to play against? Lol. It has been super consistent.

  • @SilentShepherd said:

If there's two people left, and 1 guy gets caught first, he can just not struggle, and allow the Killer to walk around map while carrying survivor, to auto-find the last one. This just happened to me.

It's a crappy designed perk and only empowers trolls or people too lazy to do struggle mini game.

That is hilarious that a troll perk does a better job of designing end game than Behavior. Still a bandaid solution, but a great idea for when I need to 4k for a challenge. Wish adepts would work with a 4th perk slot.

  • @Biscuits said:

I knew that when it was announced he was getting "buffs" after already being pretty good, that it would turn out like this. Still bugged but weaker than he was on ptb.

I am not going to lie, I naively believed it was a compromise and not just an excuse to nerf him. I should have known because I am not one of the types that believes their survivor bias is a "conspiracy." I can't believe I fell for it. I am a SUCKER!

  • Let me hang YOU on a meat hook and see what face you make. I bet it will be weird and awful looking too. No respect...

And what killers you play? Don't say nurse or blight because those killers are designed facing swf:s.

I love doing it as Bubba, but I am more talking "bully squad" type swf. Those ninja genrusher types are annoying for the 4 minutes I have to deal with them. Lol.

  • Everyone is ranting and raving about Stakeout and Hyperfocus. I guess you could throw on a Prove Thyself and Resilience if you really wanted to flex on them.

  • It is easier to be a high mmr killer than a high mmr survivor. You are probably better than you realize because a lot of killers do not understand killer. So if you do, that already puts you in the top ten percent, ez.

  • Probably because they actually reduced the grind with this patch by reducing the cost of blood web items.

  • Might as well go full end game oppression with NOED, No Way Out, and Bloodwarden. Puts a lot of pressure on them.

  • I feel that Wesker is very fun. I am not entirely sure if he is more fun than Leatherface or Nemesis to be perfectly honest. It feels a little too early to call. That being said, it is very obvious to me that he is one of the most enjoyable killers in the game regardless. I am going to keep playing him for a long time to come. I would give him a tentative 9 at the moment. More testing is required as I am a console peasant, I never played PTB. He is still very new to me.

I have yet to play survivor. I should probably to that before the hype wears off. Lol.

  • Not to be an overly pedantic nerd, but Pig has nothing to do with Tapp. I do not even remember the remake, but was Freddy really obsessed with Quentin? I remember when I first got into DBD I did not even realize Quentin was from Nightmare on Elm Street. So I am not authority on that matter, but even if he was obsessed, that is lame. We deserved Nancy.

Anyway, yeah, I love harassing James as Pyramidhead. That is the only time I do it, really.

  • I rarely play him anymore after they ruined him. It is really sad that I would rather play Overwatch than Deathslinger when I absolutely hate Overwatch and what it has become. But still better than Slinger...

  • I am going to be real. I thought this perk was amazing on paper and couldn't believe the developers made it reality. But the fact that it does not play well with Dead Hard makes it a sussy baka. I do not feel compelled to spend my shards on Zarina.

  • @scenekiller said:

I used to HATE the swamp, but one day something about it just clicked, and while it's not one of my top choices, it's a fine map for me.

It could definitely use a rework overall though, esp graphically

That is the main reason I hate it. It hurts me baby killer eyes. The survivors low-key just duck in a bush with a brown cosmetic and if I am not on Bubba, they get away. As Leatherface, I can wack some weeds. But other killers you have to actually swing in their general direction. Lol.
