  • DC penalty can only be put in place when bugs and glitches that force people to DC are eliminated. Why do you think it was delayed?

Even more - they need to make it okay to DC if someone else has already DC'd. As killer, I hate 3v1's (I'm not a sweaty green rank scrub killer who wants to go super sweat saiyan on 3 people), and I hate that situation as survivor.

If one person DC's, the reason should be able to leave without penalty and keep whatever points they have up until that point.

They aren't, why do you think the majority of the playerbase wants them dead. And the devs have agreed too.

This is far from a majority. This is a vocal minority. The majority is not on these forums.

  • I've come to the conclusion that the ones who want keys and mori's nerfed are the same ones who couldn't beat 1-1 in Mario Bros. their first try.

This is gaming now. Hand holding, spoon feeding, and everything that's remotely a thread being nerfed. Hopefully BHVR aren't foolish enough to buy into it. This is a vocal minority.

People like this ruined The Culling and H1Z1.

  • Get better, and stop overnerfing everything. Hatchets are easy to dodge, and neither them or mori's happen NEARLY every game.

Stop trying to strip the fun from DBD. If you wanna play a boring game, go play Last Year or Hide or Die.

Having to pay real money for a perk i need for my build = pay to win. Sorry.

I never said i was at any sort of disadvantage. That is all you. Please don't put words into my mouth.

If these perks were already on the shrine or the characters were available for Shards(but they are not) it wouldn't be pay to win.

Correction - you don't need the perk. It is not required. You want the perk. WANT. You prefer to have that perk. Nothing more. In order for it to be pay 2 win, it has to give an unbalanced advantage over non-base perks. Therefore, not P2W.

    Just stop.

While i will fight and die for your right to your opinion i will have to respectfully disagree. Perks locked behind real money, especially useful ones(not to you but to me) is P2W. Sorry.

The issue with your statement is, the functionally best perks are from the base game.

You are at no disadvantage by using base game perks.

Your definition of P2W is incorrect.

  • Survivor is relaxing. Even during chases.

Killer is far more stressful. With killer, you can't screw up, and if you do, you will likely not recover unless survivors also screw up multiple times. There's no room for error. With survivor, you can make mistakes and recover from them almost infinitely.

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

I love how people try and compare this to mori's. 3 people can escape at once with 1 key. The killer can't Mori 3 survivors at the same time. Hell, he can't even hit more than 1 survivor with a huge weapon, even though there all standing together, unless your Bubba, and goooooood luck w that!

Correction - there's 2 killers that can hit more than one survivor at a time. Not just Bubba ;)

I'm not the type who went through enough rank resets to tell it's fresh air to relax a few days a time a month, but this new rank reset is pretty awful compared to the old one ??

I played 6 times as a survivor (I was rank 5) and I got only rank 20-17 survivors with me, which means basically, even if i wanted to bully the killer, the others were too terrified of that Wraith to do anything / were afk / dced on first down.

I played 4 times as killer next because I was sick of those awful games where the killers were sweaty as much as they could, and where i was basically the only one capable of efficiently escaping them. I'm a rank 5 killer too, but i got rank 4 on last day so basically i'm more of a purple than red rank. I tell myself "it's okay, if the matchmaking is THAT awful as survivor, all you need to do is play as killer so you can have fun even if it will kinda feel super easy against new survivors". I take Doc to have fun because i tell myself "no need to rank up, those guys will probably be newbies i wont play spirit or freddy against them".

And then it's a sweaty 4-swf squad of red ranks farming the rank reset to get rank 1 asap. And again. And again. And again.

As solo survivor, only rank 17-20 in my team. As killer, I only get sweaty swfs.

This matchmaking is really really making me sick of this new rank reset. Can anyone relate / say they are experiencing the same and going to not play for a few days ?

This was happening before rank reset.

Imagine being me, a rank 2 survivor, and getting matched with rank 14-18 SWF's. Within 6 ranks my plump backside.

That's what I'm saying as well but at the end, those are the end results. The numbers are correct, even though it doesn't mean much.

"it doesn't mean much" - thank you.

Therefore, they are not facts. Facts mean everything.

It's a FACT that they compiled some very general and inconclusive statistics. It is not a fact that they hold any credibility due to the missing variables.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/918061#Comment_918061

How are they inconclusive to real world stats? That would mean the stats were calculated wrong. No matter how many bad survivors there are or how many people kill themselves on hook etc. some killers have high kill rates.

Yes, there is much more to it than that but those are the stats. If they say 70% kill rates, then that's the truth. Like I said, that doesn't really mean much and can't be used for balancing purposes since there are a lot more things that needs to be taken into consideration, but those are the numbers.

They are inconclusive because of all the different scenarios and things they don't take into account. The choices both sides make every match, whether or not they are meming, whether or not DC's occur, or people suicide on hook, whether a mori or key was used etc.

Even the devs themselves, in previous posts on this very forum, have said not to take them seriously.

    But that... that's madness!

In all seriousness, I actually used a mask map offering and just put my traps all over the place in the temple/cottage and meme'd. Got like 30 trapped survivors each time.

    That works too, lol.

I used haddonfield, and trapped all the windows. Chase someone up some stairs, trap. And for whatever reason they keep doing it. It's funny.

  • I thought the devs were putting a hold on events to fix the "game health"? I could have sworn I heard that.

  • Tip: For trapper trap challenges, call in a Haddonfield offering. Easy peasy.

  • The real reason killers camp and tunnel:

Because it works, and even then, camping only works if survivors let it work.

I disagree. You’re intentionally skipping out of the game. Yeah, it sucks BALONEY to be left stranded, but I still play until the Entity naturally claims my soul. And yes, I would say it is toxic when you can either see someone running towards you or they’re right there in front of you.

It's not toxic. Toxic is a state of mind. Someone who would rather move on to the next game instead of watching their clueless teammates doing jack all is not toxic. Now, if I'm being CAMPED, that's a different story. Stay on the hook for your team. Unless, of course, you see them running towards you like idiots. Then they're dead anyway.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/918043#Comment_918043

I mean, the stats don't lie. The reality is that some killers have around 70% kill rates. They just can't be used for balancing purposes. That's the part where we take it with a grain of salt in my opinion.

Your entire rhetoric is thrown out the window when the people who compiled the stats said to, in a few words, not take them seriously. Thus, making them completely inconclusive to real world stats.

  • @arslaN said:

Killers win more than survivors, even in red ranks. Those are the facts, no one should deny it. BUT that doesn't really mean killers are overpowered. It's because the average survivor is really bad. Even in rank 1, most survivors are complete potatoes.

If the ranking system actually made sense and only good survivors were placed in red ranks then these stats would mean a lot more.

Even the devs said to take that with a grain of salt because there's so much more to it than just "killers are winning at red ranks". So, no, it's hardly "facts".

    It's theoretical analysis at best.

  • I would NOT remove keys and mori's. There is nothing wrong with having some super powerful, ultra rare things. The issue is, keys and mori's, while labeled as ultra rare, aren't really that rare on the blood web. Maybe make them as rare as Bloody Party Streamers (I mean..I never see those. I could literally spend 1000000 blood points on one character and not get one). Even still though, people act as if there's a key or mori in every game. That is not the case.

The only time there's a mori every game for the most part is super low ranks (or high ranks? whatever), like, 14 and above. It's a novelty to the baby killers. With keys, they are more common at purple and red ranks. Thing is, keys aren't in every game, and I get to rank 1 in killer every month...even when there are keys I never notice, cause I usually kill the person with the key.

Inner Strength makes my stealth build OP. So yeah.

I Imagine you only play meta builds. Which is fair. But you don't need to heckle people.

I don't actually. Pharmacy, Hope, Autodidact, Calm Spirit is my main build. Calm spirit is a bit situational, and often goes unused...but when it's Doc or Clown, my god I feel like a genius. Sometimes I switch something out for Lithe or WGLF.

Hardly meta. But what you said doesn't make it pay to win.

  • Key and mori's are fine. Stop trying to nerf everything into the ground. There is such thing as OVERbalance. And overbalance is boring.

yes but still more steps than just clicking one button to accept a party invite.

but on this subject, I do agree that there should be lobby voice chat or a feature to ebable/disable it. I personally wouldn't use it, so I'd like a disable option, I dont want to hear my fellow Latin American's telenovelas in the background and the mom yelling and a kid crying in the background..

Not really? If you have discord installed, it's literally clicking a link. Boom, you're in a channel.

Please. It’s been 84 years. I just want to get to the endgame and rescue someone.

As annoying as it can be, there's nothing toxic about suiciding on hook.

If I get hooked and I look and don't see a single one of the *other three* survivors on a gen and they are are urblend evading around, I dip. I give in to the entity.

    that's besides the point.

While I do agree discord is a great tool.. I'll have to disaggre that is superior for this example. On console you just invite and join immediately, discord you have to actually look for the channel, join, look for the voice chat channel, ask to be dragged (if blocked), etc.. too much of a hassle vs an instant voice chat.

Console can have communication without the need of lobby voice chat, and you can pretty much chat with any other player if they want to.

Actually, you can invite directly to a channel. The only requirement is having discord instal...wait, no, you can run it in a browser, lol

  • @MissBehavingX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/917959#Comment_917959

Yeah, but at least we have an option, PC has to be discord. People join voice chat if invited most of the time. That's the main exampleI use when people say to do something about SWF.. in console you don't need to actually have a group to SWF if you just invite randoms to parties every match..

I personally prefer to solo but there's always that option for us.

Discord is far superior in every way, anyway.

There you go, 'my opinion is correct, yours is incorrect'.

Thanks for showing that you are completely inept and unable to have a debate on a topic. I'm not listening to someone who thinks they know better with an opinion that isn't a fact.

I simply said that I disagreed with you, no need to be so immature and salty just because I am very passionate about DC-ers. Grow up.

That is not at all what I said. In the least. I merely stated that you can't punish for disconnects when there's things (bugs, glitches, exploits etc) that exist in the game that force people to disconnect. Until those are cleaned up, you can't implement a DC punishment of that magnitude. It's not a matter of it being my opinion, it would just be bad for business.

As for me being immature and salty, not sure where you get that from. *You've* been the aggressor here with the personal attacks. Take a breath. I know it's frustrating, but don't let it cloud your moral core.

Of course, like in League of Legends, Smite or any other game with a ranking system out there.

To addon to the disconnect option, I don't think it would work. For all you know the survivor would simply be dead when they log back in, unless their husk is gone from the game until they get back. I feel like in a game like this it could be abused, though.

Also, even if they didn't have the disconnect options, those are Free to Play games. DBD isn't, and people invest hundreds, sometimes thousands into cosmetics and DLC's. They need to fix issues that force people to DC. "Force" being the key word.

I simply said that I disagreed with you, no need to be so immature and salty just because I am very passionate about DC-ers. Grow up.

Except it's not just my opinion. The devs side with me. I have actual, rational justification. The one thing you're missing. We did debate. You presented a point, I countered it with a rational response, and you just continued to stomp your feet like a child and say "NO CUZ DC's MAKE ME MAYAD!" so to speak. It's not just an opinion, it's a fact that you can't, in good business punish people for something they are forced to do. I also made light of the fact that ragequits exist, but until the issues forcing DC's are fixed, it's immoral to ban or punish people for being forced to disconnect. I'm sorry if you can't process that.

I am in no way being immature. Immaturity comes from the one refusing to listen to reason. As for being salty...I don't think anyone is going to look at both of us and call me the salty one. You're the aggressive one here. Don't try to take the intellectual high ground. You jumped the shark on that 3 posts ago.

  • No. It would be abused. It's abused as it is. "I have DS, chase me instead cause you can't catch me!".

No, because there will always be an excuse. The rational way forward is to implement the change, otherwise it is never going to happen.

There will always be bugs, you know it and I know. I know this game too much to not know it. Please stop trying to demean me by saying that my argument is not rational as it is coming over as quite patronising please.

You're still arguing something that isn't a matter of opinion. Yes, DC's suck. Yes, it sucks for both killers and survivors. In order to punish people for DC's, you have to remove every JUSTIFIABLE reason that makes, or forces them to DC. Period. It's not up for debate, cause the devs side with me.

You are incorrect, and you will always be incorrect. There's no version of this where your unbridled passion and quite honestly, immature self-righteous demeanor on the matter is correct.

It's not demeaning to say your argument isn't rational. I'm sorry if you feel patronized about it - but when you refuse to listen to reason and would rather punish innocent people for the actions of bad apples, that is irrational. So again, come back with a rational argument.

  • @BeanieBoyBob said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/916690#Comment_916690

Therein lies my point. People still abuse the system. You can't defend every single DC on 'oh but there are still bugs'.

At what point will DCs become the #1 priority? Because it seems to be that has been put on the backburner for too long. It's massively unfair and ruins the game.

I myself would expect punishment and would willingly accept it if anything happened. Other games like CS:GO, LoL have bans implemented for example. If only there was a way for a husk to be left for DC-er before time could run out much like the listed games have respectively.

You can't defend every single DC, but you also can't ban those who are forced to DC. DC's can only become the number one priority when the things that actually force people to DC are gone. Period. It's not a matter of opinion, and you really need to embrace rationality and be reasonable.

im not a killer main, I’m just giving feedback on what it feels like to play her from a fresh perspective from someone who never really touched her before, and is trying to learn her without perks or addons. I have them for her, but what would be the point if you’re a baby nurse and trying to just get a feel for her mechanics? The base mechanics feels stomach turning, like I said. I like this character, she’s an OG. I played her a couple of times before the rework when I first got the game , and she didn’t make me feel like this. So I think I’m going to have to agree with the killer mains on this one the new base kit sucks, but only because it makes you feel like you ate a bunch of food and then spun around in circles. Or like smelled something really bad that makes you feel sick inside.

    Think about it this way:

The Nurse is the most powerful killer in the game. She has the highest skill cap. As a survivor, you should be thankful she's hard to learn and somewhat uncomfortable for some, cause it would be miserable with a bunch of god tier Nurses around, lol

  • @Cnich65 said:

Yeah but they'd also waste time breaking it when its possible to work through it at a slower rate. What if survivors didn't get a notification for it instead? It would regress just enough that a survivor wouldn't notice but end up wasting an extra 8 seconds on it

I think you should go back to the drawing board with this one. 12 meters away from the gen is useless. It takes a matter of seconds to destroy a totem.

I am calm, I'm just disagreeing with your point.

You clearly aren't affected by the DC issue as much as myself. It's more annoying than the frequent bugs.

I have people DC all the time. I literally just had an entire team DC. I was playing as Trapper of all things. Doesn't stop me from being rational.

  • It would be worthless. The totem would be found immediately, just as every other totem is now.

There are issues every patch is my point. There is always an issue. You can't keep putting it off to wait on other issues. My frustration with the problem is valid and has been valid during the past two years of playing this game so apologies if I don't have the patience of a Saint on the issue anymore.

There are issues every patch. You're exactly right, but:

    A) They are not all of this magnitude and don't directly force people to DC like some of the current bugs do.

    and

    B) I didn't say it wasn't valid. I said it wasn't a priority.

and C) There are issues with every patch, as you stated, sure, and even the devs are recognizing that they can't punish people for something their shoddy testing has forced players to do.

Maybe you should go take a siesta, and come back when you're calm and have the capacity to be more rational about this. This is the anger talking.

  • Imagine actually thinking the game is balanced for red ranks.

    OOF.

  • @BeanieBoyBob said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/916667#Comment_916667

DCs have been an issue for far too long, you could use this same line of reasoning each patch because of the bugs, e.g. Old Tinkerer, Wake Up during GF release, Basement Hook falling.

DC-ing is pathetic and it has to be punished.

And they will be - after they fix the other issues. Old tinkerer and wake up were terrible bugs, and lots of killers DID disconnect for wake up, but they didn't literally prevent people from interacting in game, like the basement bug did, and therefore are not comparable.

I'm sorry, but your frustration does not outweigh logic and rationality.

  • I mean, obviously Nurse isn't for you then. Good thing she was free, lol

Also - Nurse has never, and will never be noob friendly. She's the hardest killer to learn, with the highest reward when you do.

  • So, with all the broken things in game, like falling through the floor etc, that literally force people to disconnect...you're suggesting they punish people for it?

I mean, I get it . DC's suck, especially when you're trying to do a challenge or a daily...but they need to fix the technical issues that force people to DC first. Any other option, or opinion, yours included, is incorrect. It's not even up for debate. It's flat out wrong.

    @The_Second_Coming

Except that gen rushing isn’t an issue at all as there are ways to slow them down, wether it be via pure gen pressure or perks and add ons. At which point survivors have to get smart because their main objective can be stalled until they are dead.

If you find gen rushing flawed but still think face camping was just “part of the game as it is a tactic” then I find hypocrisy in that.

Because what you are telling me is that you want the game slowed down for your convenience to kill faster... but still be able to face camp (again ) for your convenience to kill faster.

Correction - there is not always a way. You can only chase one person at a time, survivors spawn next to ruin, and slow down addons etc. are getting nerfed every other patch. Gen speed has been a problem for a while. Even the devs have touched on it in their streams. Why do you think BNP's were nerfed?

As for camping - it's not hypocrisy. The original DBD "How to play killer" videos literally show the survivor being camped as the optimal way to play. Clearly you've never been to red rank in killer. Do that (and don't just say you have, actually do it or prove it), and get back to me with a valid opinion.

  • Well...it's literally a glitch for one. Probably wasn't so much removed, but fixed.

  • uh...boobs

Nah, not feelin' it. It's fine right now. Cursing doesn't make you an adult. Being an adult makes you an adult.

I think people shouldn’t put such heavy stock into what streamers say and form their own opinions and thoughts first. There’s such a creepy undercurrent of people just repeating and following what streamers say like mindless sheep and following what they do like some weird cult. Like seriously, Otz or Tru3 says something and then mysteriously everyone else starts repeating it. Or like in Otz’s case, he just smiles and laughs and people go “uwu marry me Otzichan uwu!”

These are just regular people playing in front of a screen, they don’t have some magical authority because they play to an audience and they might be good at the game.

I both agree and disagree with this to an extent. On one hand, people should figure out their own strengths and playstyles without mindlessly following someone else, but on the other hand...people like tru3 and otz - they, for the most part, play DBD for a living. They have more experience in it than most people who play, streamer or not. So to say that they aren't a good source of information and a more valuable source of direction than trial and error at times is foolish.

Same goes with streamers like ANGRYPUG and JenDenise on the survivor side. Whether or not you like them or their style, you can't sit there and say their ridiculous amount of experience and wisdom in how to play isn't extremely valuable.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    "Face camping is a tactic"

    Also these type of players

    "Gen rush is a problem"

    smdh

So, there's a difference in mindset between those two claims, even when made by the same person.

Gen rushing is an issue because of the asymmetrical nature of the game. It's not even the survivors fault. It's an issue at a game level. Gens take too long, it's the only objective, and you can only chase one person at a time. The issue gets worse with the speed buffs of toolboxes with and without addons. Most killers recognize that it's a game issue and not really the survivors at fault. When they complain about it, it's not in vain of the survivors. It's in vain of the game's balance flaw.

Camping is different in that it IS a viable tactic; except, it's only a viable tactic if the survivors allow it to be one.

  • I think Nurse should have 17 blinks.

But then again, this post is a joke, as is the whole thread. There's no way someone is serious when they say to nerf Bing Bong. May as well go back to pre-rework Freddy and nerf him too. Hell, nerf Doctor and Pig as well. Oh and don't forget clown!

"Wraith needs a nerf". Jesus mother of all that is holy.

  • I mean, they can't remove him from people that have already purchased him. But losing the license to continue selling him is entirely possible, yes. That's how the legal system works. Will it happen? Who knows, but it is indeed possible.
