They’re either absurdly unreasonable, or nothing I’m particularly interested in doing, and unlock next to nothing I’m actually interested in.
There is nothing absurdly unreasonable about levels 1-3 of the archives. They aren't meant to always be achievable the first attempt 100% of the time and they aren't all meant to be easy. They are called challenges for a reason.
If you don't like a challenge, don't blame it on them.
I should also note - everything in the archives, if you play both sides x amount, are things you've done before organically before anyway. Except for maybe that Monstrous Shrine one...cause OMEGALUL KEKW running Monstrous Shrine; but it was insanely easy.

I like your point of view, unfortunately few share it.
It's not a point of view. It's a fact. It's not rationally or logically deniable, and can not be argued with any substance. At all. Anyone who doesn't believe this is believing something that is incorrect. It's not up for debate, nor is it a matter of opinion. Period.

Doesn’t mean that much. I don’t play last year because I don’t like the fact that you can respawn, the fact that killers are just able to roam freely in their invisible/creative mode. But everything else is cool. And I’m sure a lot of people don’t play it because of that. Doesn’t mean that it’s bad, it’s just not scary to me. The Devs need to take ideas from others because their ideas don’t work that good most of the time.
Player numbers mean everything. At the end of the day, the game came out on Discord over a year ago, and was DOA. Now it's on Steam, and it's also DOA. Literally two releases, both DOA. It means the world.
-
The issue is, perks shouldn't be changed just because people like to use specific ones in an effort to get them to use different perks. Other perks should be changed to make those other perks better.
-
The answer is no. No function of the game is toxic. No addon is toxic. No item is toxic. No perk is toxic. No emote is toxic.

When will survivors stop opening gates at 99%? It´s so useless, there is a plenty of time, and the only thing it does is kill you. When you run from the killer to the exit gates, you except it to be opened, or at least there should by someone who opens it, because you don´t have time to open it yourself.
I agree. When I see a fellow survivor 99 the gate and run, I immediately open it.

Imagine actually believing that.

Right? lol
I remember, even Marth went on record saying it back then. "When Last Year is out, DBD will die."

Many, again including Marth said the same about Deathgarden...and well, we all know how that cookie crumbled, don't we?

Asylum is balanced now. Only BL was the problem, the Map is now killer-sided.
@Topic:
The School is not that crazy. Sure, 4 Pallet Spots where 3 of them are pretty decent (the one in the Hallway is not that good), but you can catch up around the School.
And overall, every Pallet outside of a Building is highly unsafe and playable. If a Survivor decides to stay at one of those Pallets, they will get hit.
(If the Killer thinks it is smart to break every Pallet... Yeah, thats his fault)
"Asylum is killer sided now"

This is correct, they already explained that they can't really prove who is suiciding on hook or so on, and I doubt that is going to change in the future. If enough reports come in because someone is obviously abusing this fact to just grief games, eventually they are likely to get caught and punished; but beyond that it's generally not going to be bannable.
tdlr: It is technically bannable, but the extent you have to abuse to actually get investigated and punished is pretty high as it has to become just outright griefing; or there would have to be several video evidence cases of you frequently just doing it to grief your team mates.
Pretty much. It could be bannable. Will people get banned for it? Likely not. Unless they do it like 30 times in a week, and every one of them happens to be recorded and sent to the devs in a detailed report.

"Killing yourself on purpose" is listed under "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" in the report menu. You would likely have to do it a lot, but you can probably eventually get banned for it.
I mean it from more of a realistic standpoint. The stars would have to align for them to actually figure it out. There's have to be documented video evidence of every, or at least the majority of occurances etc, which the likelyhood of us next to 0%.
Another issue is, some people believe that simply struggling and letting yourself die on hook should be bannable. I think it's completely different if they didn't outright ask to be hooked, and were hooked after a normal chase. If they want to suicide at that point, it should be fine.

Here's the tldr:
Stop attacking each other and the devs. Learn to have fun even if you lose. Winning isn't important having fun is. Also stop the toxic crap in game, chat, and forums.
Stop attacking eachother? Definitely
Stop attacking the devs? I think they earn those attacks. Case and point, they literally released the Oni patch with broken basement hooks. They knew it was an issue before they released it, and released it with that broken, game breaking bug anyway. This is a game that wants to punish people for disconnects, and knowingly, and willing releases patches with bugs so severe people are forced to DC. The Oni patch wouldn't be the first time they released a patch that broke something vital. Anyone remember that long stretch of time where every patch they released broke the terror radius? Or how every other patch (INCLUDING THE MOST RECENT ONE) breaks sound all together? They never miss a beat with their cosmetics though. Yeah, no, this goes beyond criticism at this point. This is willful negligence and they deserve what they get.
Learn to have fun even when you lose? Definitely. People need to stop taking the game so seriously. Do you know how fun it is to get mori'd? It really is. I love getting mori'd.
Stopping the toxic crap is a bit more complicated. Everyones definition of toxic is different, and 3/4 of the community ACTUALLY believes that you are toxic for using perks and addons within the game, simply because they don't like it. There is no such thing as a toxic perk. There are no such things as toxic items, or addons.

How do you know? We don't know what kind of data is being gathered.
We know they track skillchecks, chases, hits... pretty much anything.
Because they literally said they don't have the data to take into account who suicides etc when they brought out the killer stats. It was one of the key reasons they said not to take it seriously, or to take it with a grain of salt. So, just stop.

Imagine asking why people use items with functions that help them greatly without the need of a perk slot being taken up.

Do you think every killer is viable in any game if played well enough?
Or do you think ultimately the killer is at the mercy of the survivors unless the killer is at a certain effectivity range?
Explain your reasoning for either side if you like, and if you are the latter, do you think the devs should do something about that?
Every killer has the potential to be strong against solo players (or max 2 player SWF). EVEN THEN, most SWF's (even at red ranks) are just shooting the ######### with their friends and having a good time. The amount of "super sweaty 4 mans" that people complain about are such a small percentage of players it doesn't even matter. The issue tends to me, a killer will get put up against this kind of group...once, maybe twice in a whole week of play...and come here, or to Steam, or Reddit, and act like it's every other game, and that they should literally nerf Jesus.
Also, I should mention that using the experience content creators have on their live streams is irrelevant, because they very often get stream sniped by these sweaty mcsweatsweats; so you can't statistically take that into account.
That being said, those super sweaty SWF on comms groups do exist, and we all come across them at some point. At those times, any killer can be viable...but there is all the potential in the world AND a strong likelyhood that they won't be. Especially someone like Trapper, Hag, Demogorgon or an insidious Leatherface (which is a build I TOTALLY respect) where either their entire ability or entire strategy is negated because survivors either know where that traps and ground anus' are, or that they are hiding nearby.

They're not saying that just suiciding is bannable, they're asking if pointing at the hook to suicide is bannable. At that point, it is easy to tell their intentions and punish them.
How so, without some sort of demo recording or video evidence? There's no statistical analytical data to tell them the difference between who is doing that vs. who is just suiciding on hook.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/922930#Comment_922930
Only when not in excess per devs previous response on the topic
I highly doubt that's the case. There's no statistical data, without demo recording (which this game doesn't have) that could provide them accurate data. If they don't want people to attempt to escape, and want them to struggle, the option shouldn't be there for either.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Yes that is bannable, but the offense would be looked into. I imagine if there was a DC or something, nothing would come of it, and it would have to happen more than once because some people just DC on hook because they have to go anyways and rather than just DC like normal they give you some bloodpoints.
No, suiciding is not bannable. It can't be. There would be absolutely no way to accurately assess when that is happening - therefore they can't punish for it.
-
I stopped reading at "Behavior should never be blamed."

No. It's not bannable.

Ranks can mean squat when it comes to teammate ability. You can still get a red rank survivor that thinks it's a chill thing to SC in a corner and hide in lockers for that perfect head-on opportunity, or even just a red rank survivor that gets demolished in 10 seconds.
Generally, red ranks are far less inclined to 3 gen you. That has been happening all day. To the point where i just walk up to the killer and off myself because honestly, I don't have time for it.

Nope, balance is binary (is or isn’t). There’s close or distant sure... but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with something being balanced. Certainly “overbalance” doesn’t exist.
That’s like saying scales can measure a negative weight or something to say overbalance is a thing.
Well, then do us a favor and go play The Culling or H1Z1. Attitudes like that, whining, and overnerfing/overbalancing everything killed those games.
Your analogies don't apply because this a *casual, arcade style, asymmetrical slasher horror video game*. It's in no way realistic, and balance is completely up in the air. There is nothing wrong with having rare, overpowered things in games like this. I could understand your point of view if this was a competitive game, but it's not. You just take it too seriously and are set on killing the fun for everyone.

Dude, your comment makes zero sense from what mine stated. Other people want to play the game casually as much as you and if they don’t find mori’s fun... that’s you being entitled if that doesn’t matter to you... that’s why every game has balance casual or not.
I don't think entitled means what you think it means. I now know what I am dealing with. OOF.
Every game has balance. EVERY game does, yes. You're right on that - but there IS such thing as OVERBALANCE.

Casual means a lack of true ranking system with stats and mmr etc...
It doesn’t mean throw all concept of balance out the window as any game that’s done that has failed.
Ranking system or not, this game is casual. The devs state it is, therefore it is. If you take it too seriously, that's your own problem. If it wasn't, ranks wouldn't reset every month, and there would be meaning to the ranks. Just so happens, you can achieve red rank survivor by literally playing more. It doesn't take a lot.
It's not a matter of "throwing all balance out the window". The game is the most balanced it has ever been. That doesn't mean you have to overnerf and overbalance everything. Overbalance IS a thing. I hope to god BHVR doesn't listen to all this entitled dribble, cause that's what it is. A bunch of super sweaty players who take the game too seriously and want everything that is a threat nerfed into the ground. Listening to the community too much is what killed games like The Culling, and H1Z1; and I think the devs know that you and most of the people complaining relentlessly about these things *that aren't even close to happening often enough to be an epidemic* are just a vocal minority, and nothing more.

@dont_ask_me_again said:
A key will probably mean 1 or sometimes 2 escapes... an ivory mori or ebony mori pretty much means the first person is tunneled out the game fast and the other survivors are likely not going to handle the lost man-power and all die resulting in a 4k for the killer.
When it’s 3v1 you just slug... I don’t agree keys and moris are evenly comparable at all - unless it’s swf with a key.
"Pretty much means" - what ranks are you playing at? What killers are you playing against? I've been mori'd once in the last month, by a Pig, and she hardly tunneled. Hell, when I see a mori, I WANT that. I want to be mori'd. Being mori'd is fun. Apparently fun is something you're not looking for in a *video game*. Please stop trying to ruin the fun for the casual ones, aka the ones the game is designed for.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the arguments here are, if not manufactured completely, 100% exaggerated.

If a survivor is on death hook there is no point to using a mori. I don't know why people keep saying this. If you're on death hook I'd rather just hook you again and get more points.
This. The entire point of a mori is to bring a cinematic end to the survivor. It's a staple of the game.
Next they'll want killers to have their lunge taken away.
If anything, rework the rarity of them on the bloodweb. Make them super rare. But don't change their core functionality just because you take a video game too seriously and can't handle dying (not you @Polychrome_Baku, just in general).
I think a lot of this stems from people teabagging, flashlighting etc and then getting their ego shut down by a mori. Nobody was complaining nearly as much about mori's before this newer generation of DBD players came from streamer communities.

No, if the game throws a player out of the world and takes away their entire ability to actually play, DCing is absolutely fair. The devs postponed their DC bans for this kind of thing.
