Like when your most played survivor main on your game is angrypug... it’s pretty blatant nearly every long time player has actually gone. Loads of people were just continuously playing now no one is. Dunno why people are acting like this stuff is balanced for high ranks.
-
@ArthurPadula said:
Sure, because survivors have it so hard, right? You just wanna be toxic.
I stopped playing ages ago... killers need a buff yeah and how long have experienced players have said do something about generators? Yet nothing.
You just get the endless trolls in the forums derailing topics they don’t understand. No one with xk hours is going to be able to convince anyone with lower hours all their practiced calculations as they’ve been playing etc... but the new bait in the forums is “If you can’t explain it to me due to my lack of experience then I am right” - and BVHR just eats it up.

@Peanits said:
I don't know about them being bad without add-ons. You don't need any add-ons to get a save. The add-ons make it better at chain blinding or make it last longer if you're trying to blind at pallets, but they definitely aren't necessary.
If they aren’t necessary (I’ve found them to be necessary in chases with my 3k hours)... that doesn’t mean flashlights still can’t use a buff for chases.
I’m not sure why “necessary” is the focus rather than trial and error. Items that feel like they don’t have an effect where they should (more of an effect) just make you want to not play the game.

And? They are supposed to be limited, clutch use. They aren't supposed to be something you can blind the killer with at every pallet. Pick your battles.
Try turning what you say on it’s head also.
I.e. “they’re supposed to be something the killer can be unblinded from at every pallet.”
Except you’re the only one implying an absolute with no variables. - The yellow/green are just bad period... the purple is good... I settled with half-way so unless you’re trolling I obviously am not looking for flashlights to be completely bolstered as I settled for half way.
What is it with people on game forums trying to tear down reasonably put posts.

I mean, any blind can be weak against a seasoned killer. It's called using your ears. They can hear you breath.
Don't go for cocky plays and you'll be fine.
Err purples are pretty strong at 20% increased duration... if the yellow/green flashlight had like 10% extra duration then they’re probably in an ok spot.
-
@OneNineTwoNine said:
I think flashlights are fine honestly. Get downed in an open area and the killer pretty much can't do anything about a flashlight save. You can use them mid chase (at pallets) to disorient the killer. There's many ways you can use them that will help you.
The first half is true but last half isn’t true against a good killer... the duration is too short without add-ons.
-
@McLightning said:
Really? When I play survivor, I run a yellow flashlight, no addons, and manage to use it pretty well.
What's bad about them?
The blind is too weak on default flashlights (green/yellow) to actually trick any killer that’s red rank. The blind duration barely lasts long enough that they can just use sound 100% of the time.
@KrispiesChicken said:
Yeah no thanks. This discourages people to bring flashlights which means less of them in high ranks. Which frankly is flooded with both keys and flashlights.
Why have something in the game you’d discourage people from using? That makes absolutely no sense.

That's extremely overpowered in favor for the survivor. It's unfair enough to have such a quick sabo speed along with no mither and unbreakable to hard counter slugging.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1101468#Comment_1101468
That first statement was true before the sabo buff. Now it's the completw opposite. Survivors can now disable hooks "On the Fly" when they need to, allowing them to do gens and save a teamate within 30 seconds of each other.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1101524#Comment_1101524
Yo, as a heads up bro, there's a little cog in the top right in the box of your reply, you can use that to edit your replies.
30 second cooldown from 60 seconds? Iirc... that 2.5 seconds to sabo a hook without 99% anymore is huge against players running No Mither.
There’s generally 4 hooks you have to sabotage now as the devs kinda nerf sabo the last time they said they were working on a buff.
The whole point of sabo-no mither combo is that it is supposed to work if well timed.

That’s a bit random...
Would just be a buff to the actual sabo-no mither archetype. (Which was the best perk to run with sabo).
shorter cooldown on sabotage and dead hard would make it solid. Could even change object of obsession into a cooldown perk and re-raise it’s power again - obvs to basically work like no nerf if you run no mither with it.
-
Everything’s basically been said but new killer perks>new survivor perks
-
If they added to No Mither for running it:
“All perks with cooldowns get reduced by half“ - which would include; exhaustion, Q&Q, small game and sabotage
I don’t think it’d be broken at all and would revive the old sabo-no mither build.
-
The best one but it got nerfed:
Dead Hard (nerfed)
No Mither (nerfed against oni?)
Object of Obsession (nerfed)
Saboteur (nerfed)
All the perks worked with each other + there’s all the survivor nerfs.
-
@kreeper124 said:
As a perk it might be good, but not basekit. And at the end when there's 3 gens left and someone's hooked, only one gen will be able to be worked on. So you could hook someone right next to a gen and there'd be no reason to go anywhere
It’d be like with a 3 gen strat - avoid it by spreading gens... if 3 gens are close don’t get downed near the gens.
The devs are kinda drifting away from making powerful perks entirely and as a perk I think it’d be way too go to. :P
gens need some kind of nerf without increasing time on M1 and this kinda does that.
-
they can’t be right... apparently I’ve only done 2 protection hits in like 3k hours.
Nothing really looks right at all... they’re not recorded from 2016 onward?
-
If someone was trying to be “toxic” and not win - why’d they bring insidious on lery? They’d just rev the chainsaw in the survivors face all match and get a 1k. That probably happens in less than 0.001% of games if we’re being honest.

I agree that killer/survivor interaction is healthy, but I don't believe it should come at the cost of what we might call player freedom or agency. The point - at least, my point - is that players shouldn't be forced to play the game a certain way, at any stage. If stealth is a mechanic in your game, if you have dozens of perks dedicated to pulling it off, you shouldn't be actively discouraging players from employing it. As I said, I think the concept has merit, I would just like to see it adjusted to be less punishing on those who enjoy and design their builds around stealth play, while still remaining enjoyable for the killer, if such a thing is possible.
Scott says they would dim the lights in the early phase so there is kind of a buff here? In that regard.
I think it’s something that’s need to be implemented first before stealth is also buffed... i.e. create new perks that’d give a reward in the early game if played stealthily... such as you can do a generator at normal speed and the killer doesn’t know which or maybe that’s added to a current perk like de ja vu.
It’s not possible to add stuff to perks or add perks if the phase isn’t in existence first.
If there is purely 4 stealth survivors in a match and no one intends to show up early to the killer (which most games I imagine would have a survivor willing to do this to cut down the killers preparation) then beating the timer could add some kind of reward but it’s hard to say what aside from blood-points but maybe aura immunity for brief time. As cruel as it could be as a concept - the killers perks could de-activate for a period of time for failing to find anyone.

Well, I mean it would be crazy to not think they won't nerf his ability to literally just face camp people to death with 0 counter-play whatsoever. There is no way that is not getting dealt with in the remake process.
I imagine that other than that however, it will be buffs all around, unless BHVR mucks it up lol.
That’s what kinda gives him tier though... if he actually gets a hook people won’t hook dive against him allowing him to maintain momentum at the risk it’s all for nothing... really they can’t go that route especially after the ruin nerf. Either the survivors or the killer has leverage with the killer’s power and it should be the killer who has the leverage. Leatherface needs it for high ranks fundamentally. The only thing I can see nerfed isn’t insidious but holding charge on chainsaw so no way to juke it from that for actual facecamping with zero timing. It should be more charge and go with some ability to cancel early but too late = failed.

Hmm interesting idea...but that removes kicking gens which is affected by a lot of perks.
Could still kick too... mixing them together... played first game of survivor in a while and the killer got 2 hooks... cuz yeah gen-rush :P
I was like - if you come to me I can waste so much time that hook you just had means nothing so ofc the killer did camp and not pressure gens.

playing bubba is like a 9 to 5 job training survivors to become better survivors, being just essentially a base killer with no power against good survivors can mean a hard match... as long as you got atleast 1 kill you’ve done your job.
He will not be denied.

No thank you...
but yeah just be patient with bubbas... if your team do gens (and with ruin getting nerfed this is gonna be easier) then bubbas are gonna defo be forced to mindgame with insidious.
Would even justify bubbing buffa.

One second can mean everything in DbD. The current grab animation speed is fine.
Balance > Atmosphere all day in this case.
Like I’d rather more stuff like this was in and game got lengthened.

Kinda true (she is one of the best for sure) except for map sizes as the only counter factor.

I think she’s fine if they lower the emblem requirement for killers by 1 point (matching survivor) and also increase game length personally.

Probably because they don't really have the info to talk about the base gen speeds since everyone was using Ruin to slow them down. Now that Ruin is gone they will be able to get the right info to know what to do next.
They could tap in a bit of faith on what the vets say... especially the survivor main long time players... I’ve stated to them there needs to be more time even with ruin but sure I understand the compromise with new players... the devs still don’t understand the full story that people throw games at rank 1 intentionally. - mainly for M1 killers.

A killer SHOULD be able to get you to a hook unless your teammates can block for you or something. Equipping a perk shouldnt make you immune to hooks, or even close to it. If the perk was able to reliably let you escape the killer's grasp...it would be OP.
It is currently like 2 hits instead of 1 (Down from 3) with boiled over I’d imagine.
It’s definitely not worth the perk slot.

The devs aren’t the problem... the problem stems higher up and what’s also not fine is for them not being sure everyone can enjoy the game without a great deal of stress.
I’m a competitive player but it in a way I’m just caring about the casual player that’s tried their best to be competitive with the time they have if they so choose to take the route.

As a PSA the term "Willful Ignorance" is deemed as an insult "You're saying so and so is ignorant" even "though the term was originally—and still is—used in legal contexts, the phrase "willful ignorance" has come to mean any situation in which people intentionally turn their attention away from an ethical problem that is believed to be important by those using the phrase (for instance, because the problem is too disturbing for people to want it dominating their thoughts, or from the knowledge that solving the problem would require extensive effort)."

Definitely see a vibe of this to a degree mainly by some very acquainted followers of DBD in the “title” sense... hope it gets changed around here... it doesn’t feel like everyone is getting treated like competent people.

I can ensure you that it has nothing to do with censorship. There are plenty of people here who are voicing concerns and giving negative feedback. The difference is whether or not it's being done in a civil and constructive way or if they're insulting people. This goes for people who defend our decisions as well; insulting the people criticizing us is not okay. Negative feedback is welcome, but that's not a green light to attack people. We can all share our thoughts without attacking each other.
ummmhmmm. /s
I know why you give people titles... just so you can allow them to jebait when you bring them up. (As with my post)
When I first came to the forum I loved that person and how they thought about matters... even defended them before... but yeah nothing they did was productive and it just attempted to shadow major problems with BVHR rn which don’t pretend doesn’t exist right now.
If you have no adversaries you create silence... period. And you removed adversaries and people were agree’ing with my post and how I responded my friend.
Just get behaviour to do the right thing... I don’t main killer and I know what they’re going to be going through - especially the people who don’t play this game 24/7 with a full time job etc. You’re being unfair to them.
There’s going to be a killer shortage at rank 1 if there’s nothing for them to ease the stress.
This is all assuming you accept that your playerbase is likely above age of 18+ or whatever the game is rated.
-
Why those perks?
The dream combo if you have infectious is:
Sloppy/Thanato/Knockout/Infectious
You basically have so much tracking if you slug and can slow down the game.
Franklin’s and Iron Maiden make me scratch my head :P

All hail the mighty king that is Bubba.

When a killer gets DS’ed they lose the game... to make this consistent - when a survivor misses DS they automatically die and lose the game?

Removing the great skillchecks zone woud be a bad idea imo. At red ranks the only reason people fail skillchecks is trying to hit the great zone, and trying to hit it is the only thing (at least for me) that makes repairing gens a bit more entertaining.
I hit all the great skill-checks like 80% of the time if I try/no lag and miss a skill check maybe 1 in 200 unless forced by the killer.
Removing them would do a lot more good than harm.

P2W normally refers to paid content that’s overpowered if purchased.... P2EW is more like... you buy stuff that’s balanced because core (ready/easily available) stuff in the game isn’t really strong enough to compete.

You don't have to play nurse or any particular character to get their perks. You just need to level them up. When I started playing I did the best with Myers so that is who I would always play and level up everyone else with those bloodpoints. To this day I still haven't played much nurse but I have her at level 50.
If you want to rank up consistently with base perks/killers... I think nurse would be go to.

Does that make the game ptw though? Waiting for vigil of all perks lol. I personally can't think of much meta killer perks that are locked behind a licence. The closest is maybe bbq but it's not even that good. Only consistent use is bbq. I guess myers has stbfl but most meta killer perks can easily be grinded for.
Even on the survivor side its less ptw because you bot perks like bt, unbreakable, adrenaline, iron will and a couple good exhaustion perks.
Sure the licence perks are cool and all but they are not that meta to call ptw
There’s a difference between P2W and P2EW :P and if you read my post... said it’s unintended but it seems like the end result... closer to that.
-
And yeah I did mention thanatophobia + sloppy but you basically need to play like nurse from the free killers... asking a new player to learn nurse + all the strategies to make the perks work... which I don’t think work without even knockout is just yeah... abit much.

Nemesis, ruin, spirit fury,pop, corrupt,knock out, infectious are all ftp. You can grind out the shards and buy the killers. Not to mention the shrine is also a decent way of getting licenced perks.
My point is that the game is not ptp because these systems exist.
Have you ever actually waited for a perk in the shrine of secrets? Back when freddy was bad I waited a year I think for vigil to show up... if it even had... I basically gave up - well they nerfed exhaustion before it even showed up.
-
@AAAAA said:
This is addressed through Iridescent Shards and the Shrine of Secrets. You can get unliscenced killers and survivors with shards, and the Shrine can give you perks from liscenced characters.
And have you calculated how many games it’d take and how much luck is needed? If there’s not even 1 solid/clear slow-down within the base perks this is a problem. You can’t just hope 2 perks that generally need combo’ing will come in the shrine anytime soon. The shrine was more relevant when there was far fewer perks.
Edit: it’s simply really bad that someone could buy the game tomorrow playing killer and not have access to make game-slowdown perks that are mostly just available through DLC... telling them they need to buy all the DLCs wouldn’t be fair.
