I'm not referring to the Freddy "rework" I'm referring to how survivors complained about Freddy when he was barley released into the game and he got nerfed within the same week.
In context, that's a different kind of argument.
I'm comparing actual similar things. We really need to wait how it plays out. People said reworked Freddy would be awful, and he's top tier. People said Ghost Face would be trash, and he's top tier (depending on the person playing him). I think it's fair to say you should wait and see. If he's really that bad in practice, I'll be right there with you.

@GrootDude said:
He is annoying at every rank (Being weak/counterable doesn’t mean he can’t be annoying). Also, how is he getting nerfed?
I think the thing most people will talk about us the passive madness. They are taking it away, along with having to switch between punishment and treatment mode.
So basically, survivors don't get madness simply for "existing". AKA - Doctor requires actual tracking.
-
To be fair - we should wait to see how it plays out. They did say it wasn't final.
Everyone thought Freddy's rework was trash when they revealed it to us. He's literally one of the strongest killers in the game now.

Which teachable is that? It's not Franklin's. It isn't BBQ. The only one I could potentially think would have any merit would be knockout but why would you camp a slug that can't be seen by other survivors?
Oh, that's my bad. I have no idea why I thought insidious was a bubba perk, lol. I guess cause you only ever see it on him.
Either way, camping is part of the game. It is never going to be removed or nerfed, so you guys need to get used to it.

@Carpemortum said:
Well, seeing as they said the first ban is 60 seconds, I get the feeling it wasnt the first dc.
The first is short SPECIFICALLY for these situations.
If it keeps happening, dont play. You're only knowingly setting yourself up for frustration if you KNOW you'll get booted and penalized.
This is absolutely false. People with no prior DC's have been getting upwards to 15-20 minute timeouts for game crashing, and match cancelled situations.

"Oh my gawd, I can't do it on my first attempt. TOO HARD!"

Has it become acceptable to camp as LF? When I questioned the last LF who camped me because frankly I'm getting tired of it, he said you do realize I'm playing LF? Oh I see so that makes it ok? What has the DBD world come to?
I mean, look at his perks. His best strat is camping. One of his teachables is literally made for it.

But that would just be your word against theirs, and they would technically have the data to back it up. Saying "I never look at the names of who I'm facing" doesn't really provide any kind of REAL defense.
Of course, for that data to be relevant and acceptable, the chances of facing the same killer/survivors at x rank would have to be virtually impossible.
Which we know is not the case.

I mean if you kept being the one he camped over several games one could argue it was "targeted".
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/928340#Comment_928340
I do the same thing. It also denies them extra hook points if someone somehow would have managed to unhook me. They lose 1000 points and sacrifice emblems. If they're gonna camp they deserve as few BP as possible.
No you couldn't. I never look at the names of who I'm facing as killer. Literally never. I down them, hook them, move on, down hook move on etc etc. until they are dead. I don't even have post game chat on.
It would be a broad assumption based on a hunch, and nothing more.
-
@HurricanePixel said:
If that's the case, try to and hope to go against him more so that way it becomes targeted and then it can be a ban-able offense I think
You can't simply say "if you keep going against him and he keeps doing it, it's targeted". Queues are random. It can't be targeted, especially if that's his playstyle and he does it all the time, which is what it sounds like.
-
I'll be honest, I knew this challenge would be, not so much hard, but a pain to make happen.
So do what I did. Make them think you're farming, and pull the old double cross at the end.
-
I mean, skillchecks are random. It's a risk you need to deal with.

This change is bad in my opinion because sligged survivors will be able to crawl the entire map once the gates are open, and the killers will still be able to wait 20 seconds following the unhooked and just down him with zero punishment
Why would they still be slugged if the timer doesn't deplete and the killer goes after someone else?
-
@SpaceCoconut said:

What are they planning on doing about the people who are planning on sidestepping the DC penalty by throwing themselves at the killer and dying on hooks intentionally?
They can't really do anything about that. I mean, they could, but they can't at the same time.
-
Also FYI - to get X amount of killer sacrifices, of course you can play killer and do it, but you can also just be in the terror radius of another survivor when they are being sacrificed. Yourself being sacrificed counts too.
@not_Queen @Peanits Let the team know about that one.

@Waffleyumboy said:

Double slug scenario. Guarantees no ds. Guaranteed tunnel.
Okay, compromise - if you're slugged, the timer freezes; but in exchange, DS only lasts 20 seconds.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/903097#Comment_903097
Number 1 is excessive.
How so? If it's anti tunnel, someone else being hooked effectively removes the possibility that you are being tunneled.
-
@beatddb said:
Yeah I crashed 2 times already and got the penalty
Twice? I mean, I recognize the game has issues, but mine hasn't crashed crashed in months. Infinite load screens? Check. Basement hook blue hell bug? Check. Crashes? Not so much.
-
Imagine using the shrine for anything other than bloodpoints in 2019. 😆
-
Camping is a legitimate strategy, and is only successful if survivors allow it to be successful.
-
I tend to. I don't like to rank up too fast.
Though lately, it's less about ranking up fast, and more about the queues putting me, a red (well, purple after rank reset) killer up against rank 16-20s. I don't have the heart to do that to baby survivors who clearly had no idea what they were doing all game. In those cases I'll let a couple of them go, but I'll make sure they all get some chase points as well.
-
So here's my more fleshed out DS rework idea:
Decisive Strike stuns the killer for a duration of 3 to 5 seconds (could even leave it at 5, because this will actually punish TRUE tunnelers)
- The effect lasts 20 seconds instead of 60.
- Decisive Strike does not proc if you are grabbed out of a locker, or off a trap.
- The timer freezes if you are in dying state, so killers can't slug you and wait it out. Do NOT attach it to chase mechanics, otherwise stealth killers will negate it. This does not apply if what downed you was a protection hit.
- If you unhook another survivor or stun the killer while Decisive Strike is still in effect, it is revoked.
It's up for debate, but I think this is a good start and would both deter tunneling/slugging, and would also completely deter survivors and their little sense of invincibility because they have DS. 20 seconds is more than enough, because honestly, if it's been 20 seconds, and you're not being chased, you're not being tunneled, and therefore don't need DS.
-
Kindred should be run by all solo survivors. It's infinitely valuable.

I know that hag is good but I legitimately can't stand playing the 110 speeds
I think the speed is fine. What gets me the most is her height. Makes mind games more of a guessing game a lot of the time.
-
DS only needs to last 20 seconds, not deplete when you are down, and maybe even not work at all if you just unhooked someone with your DS still in effect. Simple. If 20 seconds has gone by and you aren't being chased, you are not being tunneled.

@The_Second_Coming Instead of dismissing OP's skill level it would be nice to hear about your tricks to make Hag viable? They did ask for help.
You do make a point. Though, I would recommend an Otzdarva video if anything. Hag, like Nurse, is difficult to play; but once you get her down, she is disgusting.
Even then though, it's always better to come up with your own comfortable playstyle than to emulate someone elses in my experience. Also it's important to remember, not every killer suits everyones playstyle. Hence why I don't play Hag or Plague. There's a lot of strategy required for them, and I just want to get in and mindlessly murder people. ;)
-
@not_Queen said:
@The_Second_Coming I understand the point, but this was a design decision and we are rolling with it. Specifically for decay rates.
Oh, I agree with decay rates. Those should be kept private. I think most would mostly want to know the stages and time buildups per disconnect. Not because people are "planning" to disconnect, but as you guys have acknowledged, there are bugs in the game (like the basement hook bug) that give people the choice of DCing, or waiting god knows how long. So it'd be nice for those people to know more or less what they are in for.
-
@not_Queen said:
We currently do not want to communicate that information for two reasons.
- Numbers will most likely change in the future
- Abusing the system is a lot easier when you have all the information (this is also the reason we were not publishing threshold for DC bans before)
As someone mentioned in another thread ( I am sorry I can't find it again to quote)
It increases the more you DC.
- Slap on the wrist
- Slap with a ruler
- Slap with a metal ruler
- Slap with a wrench
- Hammer time
- ...
- ...
(something like that)
I mean, someone is going to figure it out at some point soon, so not telling us is kind of futile. Do you know how cheap DBD can be at some retailers? It's easy enough to make a test steam account to do baseline testing.

And this is why hag is D tier /s
But fr Hag is one of the strongest killers in the game, and is one of the few who is not map dependent. A strong build makes her scary and she can win on virtually any map.
I don't play Hag. I'm a Wraith main. That being said, she has the potential to be absolutely disgustingly scary to go against.
-
TL:DR - This isn't a good Hag player.

Blending ? You sound like I was saying to hide in a bush , or a locker . It’s how to fix your first generator without getting caught . Idc what you do after your first generator , go get slugged for all I care . But if I’m in your game , and I see you getting slapped all game , I’m probably not coming into the basement for you , sorry buddy . 😅
So basically, you're the kind of teammate who makes people suicide on hook. OOF.

SteamDB correlates more or less the same, so yeah, OP is talking out his backside.

Lol I am not rank 20 . I am rank 4 already and I think the reset was 4 days ago , but I also was busy getting plat in apex , but I digress . I rarely ever use lockers , unless it’s a sneaky slow vault into slow locker . Then I walk the other way like nothing happened . I can loop , but killers hit through pallets so often it’s not worth getting tunneled by a rank 7 killer that’s been bullied by “ good “ survivors in his previous match .
Weird flex about getting plat in a hitscan shooter.

I wouldn't mind this just to be able to roam maps and learn the tiles etc, predetermine different possible routes and strategies. As both survivor and killer.

It's a good start. I'll get her to post.
This should have been tested more thoroughly beforehand, though. Especially since the issues came nearly immediately.

I mean, I do it with WGLF and Borrowed time - but I also make sure I'm the next one to go down, and not the person I unhooked.

Underrated - Hope, or Wake-Up.

What rank 1 killer uses whispers ? Even if you use it , 32 meters is a lot of distance to hide . And that’s assuming they use it .
I think that all high rank killers would rather use :
1 . Ruin
2 . NOED
3 . BBQ and Chili
4 . Random perk / iron grasp , bamboozle .
also , how would they know to use it if this was the first time you played against them ? How would they know your style unless you stream ? You only put that as a solution because you know the strategy . I know I probably play way different than you , because I am a plunderer player , but I can gen rush you through ruin . Also I don’t play Claudette since even using her , to me , is a crutch in itself , like UE , Noed , and Ruin . I play feng with her sweater so I’m white as can be . But I also use her blood red shirt if I want to have a good chase . 🏃🏻♀️💨💨🐒
I think you seriously underestimate the amount of red rank killers who use Whispers. It's actually a very popular perk.

As long as it takes more than one or two suicides to trigger a penalty (since it would suck hard to get punished for accidentally slipping on the button mashing), I'm for it.
I disagree. You can NOT give them the options to attempt escape, and not struggle, and ban people for it.
If they do this, they need to remove the need to struggle by mashing a button.
-

As for the cancel match part, at the moment, if you are the one that crashed, you will get the DC penalty. The other players will not.
Imagine thinking that it's even REMOTELY okay for that to be a thing.
This is self sabotage. It has to be. You guys honestly, at this point, have to be TRYING to kill DBD. There's no other explanation for this long series of things BHVR has been doing, not doing, and completely ignoring for the last..forever. NOBODY can possibly be this careless or negligent.

No. It's not a strategy. With the DC penalty system, they will be punished. It's literally cheating.
