New ruin COULD be useful - but a couple key things need to happen for it to be remotely decent. Rework the maps. If you expect killers with no mobility power (Trapper, Bubba, Clown, Doctor...etc etc) to be able to apply adequate pressure in a map like Mother's Dwelling, you're insane. I feel like not enough people know about this. If you find the game too dark etc, and you have a supported Nvidia GPU (from the last like 3 years or so?), you already have this installed. It recently got a huge update so you can straight up use Reshade effects directly in the driver. Never lose a Blendette again. Now, this is to bring light to the fact that there are reasons where players are forced to DC, and that they need to be fixed before any penalty is implemented. This is just one scenario. I am a survivor main. I have far more hours in survivor than I do killer. That being said, I've been playing more killer lately because the bloodpoint gains are much higher; and to challenge myself. However, I feel like a lot of killers tend to try to "play nice" by following this fictitious set of rules on the "survivor rulebook".
