They also said they would give 'small tweaks' to Nurse, then ended up butchering her due to how unfun she is to play with that basekit. Devs say one thing, then do another.
Nurse is still the best killer in the game. Those who aren't good with her anymore were too reliant on elements of her that were broken.

Nice bait.

Actions speak louder than words, and their actions are LOUD they adjusted the deep wounds mechanic while giving legion players booty, a piddly little adjustment that barely effects him at all. They needed Oni 3 times already and once was before he even left the ptb lol. While ignoring legitimate concerns about his power no I'm not just talking about his "flick" on console either,
Adding additional debuffs to strong killers acting like the current ones didn't matter or nurse now having to wait even longer to get her fully ability back after blinking, because it's not like she ALREADY had a cool down they literally added a cool down on top of a cool down lmao.
Imagine just believing what's said and not following the evidence
Clearly, you've never been to red ranks and faced 4 coordinated 4 man SWF as killer.
-
Imagine actually believing that despite the devs literally saying otherwise on multiple occasions.

We exist. We’re creeping out of the shadows, and survivors hate us.
Nah man, I love going against Plagues and Hags. Adds variety from the typical meta. Hell, I'll even cleanse because that makes it more fun.

We don't need a "solution" to camping cause survivors would abuse the hell out of it.
More than a year ago there was a form of anti camping in which after a certain amount of time a killer wouldn't be able to M1 near a hook, it didn't get beyond a few tests because of how easily abusable it was.
Just do gens jesus it's not that hard, with stiptic agent and BT facecamping isn't even a problem, why do we still have posts like this 2 weeks from 2020.
I mean, there already is a solution. If the killer is camping, do gens and leave. That is the best way to counter it.

I mean, I wouldn't be totally against it, but DBD has a particularly... shall we say vitriolic fanbase. Imagine if instead of Pinhead being a fleshed out killer taking advantage of lore and the movies he was just a skin for Trapper. Instead of Pinhead doing whatever Pinhead does he's just going around setting traps. I wouldn't mind it for lesser known horror characters like Edward Scissorhands, but imagine if they just took Jason after finally getting the rights to put him in the games and he was just a skin. Or if they just made Demo a Xenomorph skin. Only being able to dash forward and go through portals as a Xenomorph just doesn't make you feel like a Xenomorph, only like you are playing Demo with a new coat of paint.
I mean, the logical choice would be a Jason skin for Trapper...and a Sharp Hand Joe skin for Freddy.
-
I just did the challenge on "The Game" against a pig.
First try.
She didn't even "let me" do it. I just equipped bond and urban, lol
I did one gen with 2 other people right at the beginning, used bond to find the other person and help him finish the last half of his gen. He got chased off shortly before it finished, and I finished it. Then I used bond to find the other 2 working on another gen, and got there RIGHT in time to finish like...the last half a second of it, but it counted...then I went and did the bathroom generator by myself.
Honestly, The Game might be the best map for this challenge lol.

'Maybe they just don't like chasing'.
lol then they are in the wrong business.
It's a video game. Killer, even for camping, gives significantly more bloodpoints over survivor - and thats when you do like all the gens by yourself and get all the saves as a survivor. Again, not toxic.

The last part is exactly why this game just CAN'T be casual. It just can't be.
It is though. Honestly, DBD is about as casual as it gets. It's the players that get sweaty and competitive. Not the other way around.

Now watch every survivor have Calm Spirit on PTB
I mean, on the PTB? Probably. It happened before too when Calm Spirit was reworked...but it never made it into the meta because it's so situational.
Same thing will happen this time. Calm spirit literally only combats clown and doc. It's not worth a perk slot.

A person who camps has a toxic attitude making it toxic. It's the same gameplay as those in old school shooters who would sit at someone's spawn point and shoot them in the head over and over and over creating a situation in which they couldn't play. It's griefing, even if BHVR doesn't punish for it.
There's a reason those types of games came up with random spawn points or temporary safety etc.
No, a person camping doesn't mean they have a toxic attitude. Maybe they just don't like chasing.
It's not up to you to judge people, as people, based on their playstyle.
Again - you not liking something =! that something being toxic.

@Gehirnsturm said:
when does the camper solution actually come?
How do you like: If the killer lasts longer than .... seconds/minutes near the hooked survivor, a generator will be completed ???
The solution to camping is to do gens and leave. Cuck them of their pip.
If survivors didn't make camping effective, it would be a lot less frequent.
@Gehirnsturm said:
But if you are the one that is hooked?
It's frustrating and takes the fun of this game
Do you think it's fun for killers to have to chase you around infinite amounts of safe loops and pallets?
This mindset that killers and survivors owe eachother a good time is asinine. It's up to you to have fun. It's not up the the opposition to make it fun for you. Play to win.

He won't. It's a blanket nerf.
People said rework Freddy would be mid to low tier as well when they first showed off the changes. He turned out to be top tier in the right hands.
Moral of the story: Wait until you see how it is in practice, even if it sounds bad on paper.
-
I think we should all reserve our judgement until it actually comes out.

No, you just want to DC when things are not going your way in a game and not be held accountable for it.
I don't DC unless it's a 3v1 (when I'm killer). I don't play 3v1's.
Stop talking. You're making a fool of yourself. Wait - no, you've already shown how ignorant and uninformed you are.
"It's not happening to me therefore you are all lying".
-
It's not that they are looked down on as a whole. There are super immersed players out there who get things done in games. Whether that be gens, saves, totems etc.
Then there's the person who will run across the map from the generator they were at even at the faintest sound of a heartbeat. The person, who when you are hooked, can be seen urblend evading around the edge of the map being useless. Those make up the majority of the super immersed ones.

Either there are bugs, which will effect everyones' games, or there is no bug and some people have problems with their setups.
Since I'm not experiencing DC bugs and neither are most people, then I have to reason it's the latter.
I used to have problems with my M1 hits not being reliable. I tried a few things and eventually found I needed to adjust my desktop resolution. I might have said there was a bug, but most people didn't have this problem. It was my PC setup.
Your entire post is rendered dribble by the fact that the devs have openly acknowledged ALL of these issues.
Try harder.

This is a joke thread.

@The_Second_Coming the perk is in a good state when paired with enduring, but in most cases it proves to be useless since there's most likely to be another loop that the survivor can reach nearby. 5% is not much, as it is about equivalent to the speed reduction from the Hindered status effect. For 15 secs it isn't much but could make the difference in the end for the killer with a perk that is not viable alone.
5% is a lot. You may not think it's a lot, but it is.

It’s a toxic playstyle. Everyone hates it just as much as everyone hates chained flashlight stuns and constantly stunning a blinding a killer when they pick up survivors. Most good killers don’t need to tunnel and camp (or if they do it’s once or maybe twice a match and usually from a toxic survivor that they just want dead asap). Sure, it is a playstyle but the game is a million times more fun without it, making it a pretty toxic playstyle. Even when I play killer it gets old when tunneling and camping, plus I generally feel like a total jerk. If you care at all about not being a jerk and just having fun with the game, you wouldn’t play toxic unless given a decent reason.
@Atrushan88 said:

A toxic playstyle.
Incorrect. People not liking it does not translate it to being toxic.
People don't like the ebony mori and keys either. Are those toxic? (spoiler - they aren't). No feature in the game, including camping/tunneling, is toxic. Toxic is the attitude of a person. Not an action in a video game. Period.
-
The only one I INCREDIBLY disagree with is the spirit fury one. It's fine out it is; and 5% is a LOT. They would have absolutely zero chance. You may as well freeze them in place for 15 seconds at that point.
-
@cornbreadeater said:
Okay is it just me or are survivor main killers the best? Even if they like survivor more and but they play killer more often they always seem to be way less toxic. Like they’ll still tunnel and camp if a survivor is asking for it but otherwise they tend to play in a way that’s fun for everyone, plus they actually understand what it’s like when like half of the team DC’s with like 4 gens left and they end up just playing and chasing the survivors, helping everyone get points (without farming, mind you) and maybe let them go too. They’re also waaaay nicer about endgame chat and might even give the other survivors tips or something (more if the survivors are actually new). Idk, I at least play like this when I play killer (usually purple rank for killer, red rank for survivor) and I’ve seen a few others like this. It’s just way more fun with everyone being nontoxic OR both teams being really toxic, so it’s just generally a blast to play.
Tunneling and camping isn't toxic. It's a playstyle.

So far, we have 1 confirmed case of this happening to one person, with no evidence of it occuring again leading to a worse ban than exactly 1 minute. Yet "YOUR FEELINGS AND OPINION ARENT WORTH PENALIZING INNOCENTS". Which, interestingly enough, I can throw back at you. Your feelings and opinions over very few cases of bugs causing DCs is leading you to want the removal of the DC penalty system, which in turn would penalize all the innocent people who try to play this game normally, and are screwed over by those who DC. Shame on you!
Yes, one confirmed case. That must by why the devs, during the stream, acknowledged it was happening. Cause of one person.
Okay. Makes sense.
Give yourself a pat on the back for making sense.
-
No. There's too many anomalies to keep it going. Too many innocent people are getting penalized for game issues. Your feelings and opinions aren't worth penalizing innocents.

Meh, I'd say for both
Nah. It's not simply just having "enough matches" to rank up with killer. With killer, you can get 4 kills and not rank up at times.
-
@ABannedCat said:

They also push out things that are not even close to being finished, so yeah ...
That's what I was getting at. The point stays the same, it's not just a matter of copy/pasting last years code over top of this years code. It's changed SO much since last year.
-
I'd rather the games issues be fixed. It's literally more important than your silly events.
-
@Pulsar said:
"I believe that with enough matches, anyone can rank up in dead by daylight..."
Yep, I'm living proof of that one.
I mean, I would say that's only true for Survivor.
-
It's not just a matter of flicking a switch. Unless the old Christmas menu/props etc. has been updated actively from last year to work on this years committed codebase, it's not just a matter of copy and paste. This is BHVR, if there was anything even closed to finished they'd push it out. That's what they do.
-
Aim at the air 6 feet to the right or left of the survivor, and not actually the survivor.
-
Oh look, more ideas to make the game boring.
Please, if you want to go play an overbalanced boring game, The Culling and H1Z1 are perfect for you. This recent generation of players who complain about everything that happens to them in the game...oof. Soon they'll want killers to not have weapons.
-
Imagine actually thinking that enabling an entire event, even if previously used, is just a matter of "copy and paste".
-
Short answer: No, camping does not need to stop. It's a legitimate strategy as confirmed by the devs. If camping works, it's only because survivors allow it to work.

Went for the 2 grab interrupts challenge with tier 1 Myers. And twice in the same match, I initiated the grab animation and it immediately cancelled and gave the survivor time to run away

Best thing to do - tier 1 myers, and scratched mirror if you have it. Hook someone, camp around a corner and wait.

Ah that's true! Maybe was part of the license deal altogether though...and bringing that up reminds me why they definitely would have issues to just during the rework since supposedly nightmare franchise is having some issues license wise?
I mean, I think we'd all be okay with this as Freddy's chase music...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noLPhZvcBpw -
Well, they more or less said they denied the idea of Kindred being base kit because it would screw over camping. So there you go - right from the horses mouth. Camping is a legitimate strategy.
-
They literally never said "no further plans for Legion". What they said was they had no further plans for deep wounds because it's in a good spot, and will look at adjusting other things about Legion, even citing that Legion is below mid tier and that they want to change that.

I mean freddy was months before a killer got their own chase music. ghostface was released after that and didn't get one. Demo was the first and that was only slightly before the nurse rework
(more like almost 2 years if we're talking about Demogorgon)
Also - Does Myers not have his own chase music? Freddy came after.

They increased the exposed timer up to 60 seconds from 20. Made stalk progress not fade. Removed a global sound on entering stealth. Removed the loud sound he makes while "stealthed" (which was the changed that allowed the current anti-heal build). Increased the stalk range and made it harder to reveal him.
Those buffs are neither trivial nor small.
Whatever the case - it still doesn't dismiss the very same point I made with Freddy. Not exactly why you keep arguing about it, lol
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/930475#Comment_930475
Ghostface WAS trash. They had to buff him a ton and THEN he was a strong killer. Prior to his buffs he was 100% a terrible Killer.
His buffs were extremely minimal though, and that's all it took. That still doesn't change that everyone thought rework Freddy would just be "man with knife fingers" and he turned out top tier.

More important question: will they always be reversed? This sounds predictable.
This is my main question. I would be amazing to have randomized skillchecks between placement on screen, clockwise and counterclockwise.

They said they increased the base range of shock therapy, but decreased the range of the addons.
