You're getting it wrong. It's always okay. The devs say it's okay. You don't make the rules. You can "not be okay with it", but it being okay or not to do is not up for debate or opinion, and therefore "to you, it's not okay" means literally nothing.

You are absolutely right. He was taking the game hostage which is a reportable offense.
You disconnecting is also a reportable offensive.
Did anyone ever teach you "2 wrongs dont make a right" ?
There's no reasoning with you. You're in the minority, and you are absolutely abhorrently incorrect and unreasonable. You're likely a griefing killer yourself trying to make excuses for your brethren, lol
I'd be willing to bet even the devs would side with me on this, as literally everyone here but you has. I'm done with you. You aren't worth the keystrokes. You contribute nothing productive. Take your 21 post joke account and post somewhere else. :)

Nah, Claudette can stay and rot.

All i can say to this is: "What?" ones your team finishes the gens, opens the gate and u die by endgame collapse u can report him just fine. so again "What?"
Yeah, no. It's still taking the game hostage. It probably was you with how apologetic you are towards a killer taking the game hostage. Literally, shame on you. It is completely unreasonable to think anyone should just have to sit there and be griefed like that, and not be able to leave of their own accord. In no way would I advocate that. This is one of the few times I would advocate a DC, fully and completely. Why would you stay and give him an end game sacrifice? Screw that.
Go away and let the rational thinkers talk. Thanks.

To you, to me it is not because it ruins the game for everyone and makes the game boring I don't even understand how killers have fun by doing it, I've done it myself and it's boring
I never said it wasn't a legitimate playstyle, I just said I don't enjoy when I do it and I don't enjoy when it is done to me
It's not a matter of opinion, though. The devs state it's a valid strategy. Therefore it's okay. That's where it ends. You can not be okay with it, but that doesn't mean it's not okay to do.
-
@MrVecetti said:
They made a button for when this happens. And guess what, its not the "exit game" button. There is an actual report button 😯 Where you can report the killer for taking the game hostage or refusing to play in normal game play. Imagine that 😂
In ABSOLUTELY NO way did you "have had to DC". Also this isnt the worse thing a killer can do to you by far.
If you think that is a valid reason to DC, I cant wait for you to get hit with a 6hr penalty. Better yet, lets hope they introduce a 2 week one!
Imagine thinking you can report someone without being able to exit the game and get to said report button.
facepalm
I would like to congratulate you on being a grand specimen of human intelligence. OOF. Of course, I'm being sarcastic. Think before you spew that dribble you call words.
@Endstille said:
So the other survivors didn't do anything? Taking the game hostage usually means, iirc, that there is no other option but to dc. In this case however the other survivors should trigger EGC rather quickly.
They all more or less tried to meme me out of it. Usually I'd be mad about useless survivors, but eh.
-
Strictly speaking - camping is okay all the time. Not just sometimes. It's a legitimate playstyle and it only works if survivors allow it to work.

2: What is your chances of running into a player like this hmm? 1% maybe less?
3: No, I'm comparing you.
Yes, let's call me a liar. Maybe it was you. Who knows.
Either way, BHVR has the evidence of 2 of the occurrences (didn't capture the first) in a detailed ticket. So you can just take your cynicism elsewhere, bucko.

Being overly annoying and making fun of you with flasglight clicks and teabags, and commonly DC when outplayed
They also leave salty and offensive messages to you no matter the result of the game. Im totally fine with looping in the sense that I understand that it is the most effective way to survive (although sometimes it can get annoying to face)
But when you start teabagging at god loops or at every pallet that is when you crossed a line of respect from the killer
So using the CTRL and M2 buttons are toxic to you. Gotcha.
In terms of comments - killers are just as guilty of that as survivors are. So we can strike that off the list, since it's far from survivor exclusive. If you get that badly offended by someone crouching in front of you, get help, dude.
-
They would have to look at the entire library of addons, the rework probably 2/3 of them just to make it balanced. So yes, in theory it's cool. In practice, absolutely broken.

If you have nothing to say except the useless string of words you posted then you're invalidating your opinion on your own; so either you're too incapable or lazy to discuss like civilised people or you're just generating rubbish, which is in a way trolling.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/115668/would-any-of-you-be-up-for-a-penalty-delay
Personally I think this system is way too complicated and I would rather they do something to either heavily punish survs doing gens alone or buff killers similarly to Fire Up making them faster with every gen that's completed for example, kind of the way Friday the 13th handled it.
When it's a matter of someone trying to come up with ways for losing to not be losing, and I say it's silly, yes, I'm right. You win some, you lose some. Not you win some, you tie some.

Well, a couple days ago I prestiged Yui to P3. Spent 100k bloodpoints and the only good perks I got were Lithe, DS, Pharmacy and Plunderers. Not terrible, but I don't usually run any of them.
Anyway, went against a Legion. A rank 3 legion who would only chase me for some reason. Like, he would enable his frenzy, and hit me over and over, and then after his post-frenzy stun, he's still chase me. Long story short, he finally downed me after 5 gens (yes, it took that long). I was hooked and the exit gates were opened right after. Teammate saved me with borrowed time, but he hooked me way far from the gates. The others were trying to body block for me so I wouldn't go down but he just wanted me. Cool, sure. He downed me, picked me up, and got hit with DS. Immediately disconnected.
I'm not proud cause he disconnected, I'm proud because that's exactly what he deserved. He threw the game for himself by chasing one person with a killer designed to chase everyone at once.

“Offense is taken, not given”.
No, I’m not entitled as you can literally still de-pip mid-late game for not doing anything the game requires you to.
But yes, sure. Lol you’re objective in this thread is to try and win, so I’ll let you have it.
Have a great one dude! ✌🏽
Entitlement: the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
You: "I shouldn't be punished with a derank when I'm tunneled and eliminated early even though I lost the game"
I mean, if it looks like a duck and quacks, it's entitled.
-
@LustForBP said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/948493#Comment_948493
Thank you! 👏🏽 Finally an explanation from you rather than being a smart ass.
Still, not entitled. Once again, I literally play 80% of the time as a killer, the other as a survivor with my group.
Yes, tunneling is a part of the game. It’s a viable strategy in most cases against weak teams.
I’m not complaining about tunneling. I know it’s impossible to restrict a killer in this type of game from doing so. I’m talking about the penalty on the one survivor who is removed rather quickly causing de-pip. Nothing to do with the team, the killer, or the fact you can just boot up another match.
Thank you.
So basically, you want to be coddled if you get eliminated early. You want to be immune from pip loss. Wow. That literally defines entitlement. Thanks for proving my point.
Also, speaking of personal attacks - you're officially the only one who's done that now. Congrats on forfeiting your entire rhetoric by resorting to name calling.
Actually, you did that when you created this ridiculous, nonsensical thread.

I disagree. That's like saying that if a tombstone myers is after me and I jump into a locker to force him to hook me, I'm toxic. i absolutely am not. It's a counterplay.
It's not up to survivors to completely killer challenges, and it's not up to killers to facilitate survivor challenges. You're not toxic for running away from the basement if there are other hooks nearby. Period.

@LustForBP said:

Yet, here I am, asking why you think that way and here you are, trying to attack me personally. Please guy, nowhere did I say or insinuate “I’m right, you’re wrong”. My problem was with those that strayed from my point. It had nothing to do with punishing killers for tunneling. It was about not punishing early-game deaths on survivors.
So, let’s try this again. What is your basis for your argument? Why should survivors be penalized if they complete 2 gens in a “short time”? Or do you not have a basis?
If you can’t answer, then thanks. Have a nice one!
I did not personally attack anyone. Offense is taken, not given. It's not me that can't answer. I gave you a logical answer based on your own backwards, entitled survivor logic, and you rejected it because reality doesn't suit your delicate sensibilities.
The point is, tunneling and camping are both legitimate and effective strategies. Straight from the developers. Camping is legitimate, and effective because survivors allow it to happen. Tunneling is efficient. It makes logical sense to use the most efficient method possible for killing a survivor (or winning on either side). For example, as I said before, it's efficient to have more than one generator in progress at one time from a survivor standpoint. It a strategy that gets generators done faster due to the diminished return in repair speed that multiple people working on a single generator has. It's *the most efficient way to get generators done*.
Just like tunneling, whether you like it or not, is the most efficient way to eliminate someone early, which GREATLY tips the odds in the killers favor. It's not fun to be tunneled; but overall, losing isn't fun in general. If you want a game where tunneling isn't a thing, this is the wrong genre for you.
Your argument doesn't even exist and is completely invalid; because tunneling (and camping) is part of the game. Again, direct from the devs. Is it scummy at times? Yeah, sure. Is it effective? You bet your ass it is. Especially if all you care about is kills and not pips, like a lot of us do.
So again - be less entitled. You are not entitled to an escape. You have a chance to escape the second you spawn into the game. If it doesn't work out, tough noogies.
-
IMO, the biggest thing the devs did wrong with the challenges is the fact that most of them are COMPLETELY, as some have pointed out, luck and RNG based. If something is based on RNG, there should never, EVER be a requirement to do it all in one trial. Period.
-
@FearedbytheGods said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/947590#Comment_947590
I think the devs will do this, but they also know that it won't solve the problem.
Survivors won't magically stay in miserable games.
The devs can not, and will never attempt to punish people for dying on hook. Forcing people to play your game is the first step to killing it. It can not be done.
-
@LustForBP said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/948439#Comment_948439
That was not a rebuttal. Simple saying that’s the “equivalent” of something without explaining why is not a rebuttal. Why should survivors be penalized for that? I’m saying survivors shouldn’t be penalized for dying within the first couple minutes of gameplay because they cannot control intentional tunneling. As in, a killer avoiding all contact with other player to eliminate a single player. Penalizing survivors for completing 2 gens in a “short time”? Define “short time”. A killer has perks that block gens to help patrolling or to slow progress. They can also patrol gens instead of being looped. What’s your basis behind it? Explain. That’s what a discussion is for instead of claiming someone is entitled because of an opinion, an opinion of which I’ve made clear and have tried to stay on point with.
It's a counter argument using your own logic. It's absolutely a rebuttal. What you're doing is basically saying "nuh uh! im right and ur wrong omg!"
-
@LustForBP said:

Where is entitlement my guy? Come up with a legitimate argument or rebuttal instead of just throwing out “be less entitled”. I’m actually giving out ideas and trying to brainstorm a neutral ground between both. I can’t really be entitled if I’m literally a killer main requesting a tweaking of survivors being penalized for being eliminated in the first couple minutes of a game.
The rebuttal was before the entitlement bit. Or did you skip that part?
-
@LustForBP said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/944973#Comment_944973
The argument is not flawed though. Penalizing killers for tunneling or camping hooks is a legitimate argument. I killer main and I can see where it’s unfair to a survivor.
No. It is not. It is literally the equivalent of saying "why aren't survivors penalized for doing 2 gens in a short time?". Be less entitled.
-
The real problem here is the challenges. BHVR clearly either wasn't thinking when they made them, or has no idea what kind of their community their game created.

- The effect lasts 20 seconds instead of 60.
- Decisive Strike does not proc if you are grabbed out of a locker, or off a trap.
- The timer freezes if you are in dying state, so killers can't slug you and wait it out. Do NOT attach it to chase mechanics, otherwise stealth killers will negate it. This does not apply if what downed you was a protection hit.
- If you unhook another survivor or stun the killer while Decisive Strike is still in effect, it is revoked."
The first effect is extreme, it will be the same as BT, where killers chase you, and counts 20s and then hit you, basically being tunneled "anti tunnel perk"
The second condition is just extremely bs, what if you are playing against a trapper and he is tunneling you and you are looping him and gets trapped?
your ds is gone, you get punished and the trapper gets rewarded for tunneling...?
The third condition can be trollish and contradicts with the first one, killers waits 20s and there ya go, ds is gone, and what if the guy who unhooked you is injured and you both are running in the same direction and then the killer down you.
You got punished and trolled by the other surv (without the intention obviously) and the killers rewarded for tunneling.
Once again the 4th condition, why should the killer be rewarded for tunneling you and failing while getting stunned?
We can as well make DS kills you when you spawn in the game.
The first is extreme - if you take at by itself and ignore the things that came after. Try again.
The second is not BS. If you're jumping into a locker, you're cocky. Just take the down and use your DS if it doesn't make a difference to you. It wastes more of the killers time. As for the trap - I consider stepping into a trap to be your own fault. if you step into a trap, you have only yourself to blame, and shouldn't be given a free escape for essentially downing yourself.
How could 3 be trollish, in the least? It literally says the timer freezes when in dying state. Why are you saying the killer would wait it out? Hello?
The 4th one more or less means if you don't want to be tunneled, get the hell away from the killer. I may say revoke the stun part, but as for unhooking, that's just as cocky as jumping into a locker to flex your invincibility.
Your points (or, psuedo points, cause they aren't valid points at all) scream "I need DS to survive!".
@laurelstroodle said:

Glad you know what tunneling is, sadly you cannot apply it to your DS balance idea.
And btw, instead of focusing in killing ds so hard, why dont we better focus on how to fix tunneling/camping, which is the problem of all? instead of crying so hard about ds..
No, I absolutely can - I've thought it through, have had long discussions about it, and even been complimented on my ideas by certain people from BHVR. You just rely on DS; and that's okay. I understand.
As for "fixing tunneling and camping" - there's nothing to fix. Both are intended game mechanics. Is it necessarily fun for a survivor to be tunneled and camped? No - but it will never be fixed, because it's intended.

No clue how you did that. I finished all challenges, played always 2+ hours and the past week I was letting my sister play when I get bored or went into matches afk to farm more XP, which increased the playtime to 5+ hours a day for the last 7 days.
I think you play much more than you realise (/want to believe).
Or, instead of calling me a liar, you could get better at the game to maximize your XP gains. You get next to nothing by being a Blendette gen jockey. You gain SIGNIFICANTLY more XP from boldness and chases. Get rid of Urban Evasion, replace it for something else.
-
@laurelstroodle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/940223#Comment_940223
You actually can be tunneled in that scenario.
You are hooked.
X survivor try to farm you in killer face without BT
X survivors get hits which cancels the unhook animation
X survivors unhook you
X survivors get downed
You dont have enough time to run since you just got unhooked and are injured
You will obviously go down (and it is a 100% if you are in basement)
Killers hooks the survivor that recently got down and boom your ds is gone.
"Balanced 0 tunneling adapt baby surv git gud"..................
Tunneling = ignoring everyone else to go for one person. If someone else has been chased, downed and hooked, you are not being tunneled. If you stay in the area, and are seen, downed and hooked, you are still not being tunneled. That is you being cocky and paying for it. Period.

And it's not a nerf. If DS was "anti tunnel" as you continuously claim it is, why should it still be active after someone else gets hooked? At that point, clearly you're not being tunneled, as the killer hasn't ignored you and gone for someone else.
Please, back out of this debate. You have literally zero chance of a logical standpoint in your favor.

As long as it's like the current one, where all the auric cells you spend come back to you at the end.
Also - the grind isn't as bad as some people say. I can see you thinking that if you maybe started leveling half way through, but in reality, with normal playtime (not no-lifing), a person should be able to go from 1-70 by the end of the tome. Well before if you complete all the challenges.

It is fine. There is no other way for survivors to have counterplay to someone like ghostface on a map like Hawkins.
Undetectable was introduced because of Object of Obsession users having literal wallhacks on stealth killers 24/7.
They have eyes. As well, the word "undetectable" is pretty black and white.
-
- Equip Bond - to see where your team mates are when they are on gens.
- Equip Urban Evasion - To get around without being seen.
- Equip Kindred - To see if the killer is coming after hooking someone, or if they are camping etc.
- Equip Empathy - To see survivors who are in a chase, if they are coming near you.
- Play an offering for The Game. By far the most effective map for Bond to work.
Now, this seems immersive, but it is.

It's a game where one killer needs to kill 4 survivors. Tunneling the weakest link will ALWAYS be viable.
