This is a joke thread. It has to be.
Do us a favor man, get out of yellow ranks and then complain that somehow Wraith is unbalanced. If anything, he could use some buffs.

I managed to finish the rift before level 4 released, so I'm definitely going to buy the next pass. I got my money's worth and earned it back.
I do wish that BHVR lets us equip more than one challenge as I feel that the reason why some of these challenges took forever is because you had to do them one at a time. For example, I had actually saved 2 people during end game collapse before they changed it, but guess what? It didn't matter because I was still doing the 25 unhook challenge. For killer, I had sacrificed all 4 survivors in the basement before, but once again, it didn't matter because I had another challenge going.
Some of the challenges also encouraged very scummy play, which I don't enjoy. Make the master challenges/do x in a single trial spread out to several trials instead of one. Increase the amount you have to do, I don't care.
This 100%. I would have gotten the noed hooks, basement sacrifices, and obsession sacrifices all in the same match lol

People getting upset because of changes to DLCs is NOT JUSTIFIED. There's not a hidden line on the terms of service that entitles you to owning dumb stuff in the game because you paid for it.
And those complaints are a very small minority. Most of it is "devs bad survivor sided!!!111!!"1" and I can't take those people seriously.
It is absolutely justified. They nerf them IMMEDIATELY before survivors have the chance to adjust to any counterplay. Just like they did with Mettle of Man back when Ash was released.
I could understand if they nerfed him after a few months and people were still being consistently ######### on by Oni...but it only took a week to nerf Oni. They did not have a chance to develop a counter play to him. They did the same thing with original Freddy.
Also "those complaints a very small minority". Good lord. You're willfully ignoring things.

Honestly you sound like you don't even read the forums.
Most complaints are simply because people don't want to get better at the game or are looking at something else to explain their own shortcomings.
This game is in the best state it has ever been, or at least it was before this patch. The devs do a great job with what they have.
And this game is FAR from dying. People complaining are just an annoyingly loud minority. If the game was as bad as people make it out to be people would be quitting in large numbers, which they aren't.
L-O-L - Forums being used as a point of reference.
Yes, complaints about map balance is "about not wanting to get better". Complaints about hitboxes are about "not wanting to get better". Complaints about desync causing things like grabs to show the animation, but not actually happen are "about not getting better". Complaints about people buying a DLC, and the devs pulling a blatant "take the money and run" and nerfing something about it immediately after release is "not wanting to get better".
OKAY there guy. You got me.

You must be playing against idiots. People who use DS play normally in my games, get off the hook, get on a gen, if killer comes by go to a pallet or window.
Not sure why I expect this kind of shallow, non experience based response from someone who has admitted to not having played at red ranks as killer.
How is that going, by the way? You said you were doing it. I wish you much success.
I'm not saying what they do is a bad move - it's smart. Use what you've got at your disposal, bait the killer, I get it. I just think conditions need to be added to DS to make it so you should not go out of your way to GET tunneled, or to take a hit, just because you're invulnerable.
When I see that happen, I slug them all and just wait until they either bleed out, or DC.

This game has the whiniest playerbase I've ever seen, and has always had. People haven't been complained more than they usually do.
Despite people like you trying to discredit the devs at all costs, the game is still a success :)
The people don't have to discredit the devs. They do a good enough job at it themselves. They have a reputation for what they do (and do not do), and it's not a good one. Despite what they make in cosmetic sales. You fail to realize why people complain. People complain because they love the game. They want it to succeed. They don't want it to die. They want it to be a good experience; but if you're going to put on your white knight armor and seriously say their priorities and methods are severely out of whack, you need to join us in reality.

Should I just never be allowed to run scratched/broken coins ever during the entirety of the tome or something? How is a killer supposed to know that any of the four survivors in the lobby are even doing the challenge?
This is like saying Killers playing the game are toxic because they aren't standing still AFK to let survivors complete the challenge.
Not that I use scratched/broken coins personally, but running an in-game offering isn't even near the equivalence as intentionally abusing the intended purpose of the "leave match" button to intentionally make sure somebody cannot complete a challenge as a giant "######### you" because the player is salty that they got caught.
Nobody said that. I just said it goes both ways. I don't understand why you would run a scratched coin during a challenge, though. That just makes an easy game. The more time they spend on chests, the less time they are on generators. Nice try at twisting my words. Sorry bud, it didn't work out. 🤗

Getting slugged tunneled or camped is not a survivor's mistake. Dead Hard works just the same whether or not a survivor just made a mistake.
Pretty broad assumption to make that in all those instances, they are being slugged/tunneled/camped. There is no denying that survivors have infinite amounts of recovery options from mistakes, where as killers can barely afford to make one.
Realistically (as someone who actually plays killer and doesn't just blindly claim to), DS only comes into effect in non tunneling situations. Person gets unhooked, and throw themselves at you. Or baits you to pull them out of a locker etc. Of course, killers are supposed to ignore these people for being arrogant and flexing their "I'm invulnerable, get outplayed by a perk" status.

There is no such a thing as a "community backlash in 2019". People buy cosmetics and chapters, and battlepasses like crazy. The playerbase is at an alltime high according to Steamcharts. Comercially, Dbd is a success, so thats why Behaviour will not change their habits, because it works. Money speaks louder than words.
Oh, okay, lol.
Let's pretend the amount of complaints hasn't been high.

This just in: every single roadmap ever is subject to change because no one can see the future.
Pumping out new content is A LOT easier than making a mobile game that runs properly or magically implementing perfect servers. If people stopped complaining for the hell of it they'd realize this.
This just in - subject to change is an excuse that can only be used by a company without proven unreliability.
-
@gantes said:
Gotta love the "the roadmap was a scam" people not even being able to think for a little bit and realize the roadmap was NOT for the entirety of 2019, it was for the second half of 2019 and first half of 2020. You guys should check your facts a bit before throwing stones at the devs.
That doesn't disprove that some things they said would happen in 2019 are still in the "beta" phase.
-
@ABannedCat said:
The roadmap fundamentally went wrong. Dedicated servers are STILL not live on all platforms. Its just the devs promising things they cant keep.
Pretty much this.
They prioritize new content and cosmetics over anything else, but the community backlash in 2019 has been big enough to warrant them to do actual useful things. Issue is, even those useful things, they can't manage to prioritize correctly.
"Let's introduce a DC penalty!...but let's not fix issues like infinite loading screens, soft locks and other game breaking things happen to people on a daily basis forcing them to DC and now get penalized"
Not to mention numerous things they should be able to do, but haven't...
- Return legacy cosmetics to legacy players who lost them (yet, they find time to ban people for hacking it back in really quickly, even though you can see by their achievement dates they earned it)
- Fix hitboxes
- Get rid of ridiculous safe loops
- Rework Haddonfield
- Fix the speed gens get done (may or may not be directly related to gen speed, but more objective variety/map balance).
- Balance all the maps.
There's more, this is just the tip of the ice berg.
Bottom line is, that road map was just empty promises to lure people in. Sure they've done some, but expecting BHVR to get things done is like expecting a blind person to read a road sign.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
they know you are doing the challenge so they dc to prevent you from you from getting it , I hope there won't be challenges like this in the next rift
Pretty much this.
Though - it's not survivor exclusive. Killers go out of their way to run scratched/broken coins to prevent survivors from doing their chest challenges as well, and that's just one example.
Overall, the community is pretty toxic.

He's middle in terms of what a killer should be. Meyers is about the middle of what killers are.
Well, join me on earth where Myers is middle of where killers are now, then.
What should or shouldn't be doesn't really matter, cause at the end of the day it's not a thing until it is.
God, that's a mind bender, especially with alcohol in me.

No, because an abhorrent amount of completely safe, un-mind-game-able loops should not exist.

No otherwise the change would pretty much not buff pig at all.
It should be completely RNG. That's the only way it can true be fair. If it's the first one, it is, if it's the last one, it is. Having a built in handicap is not how you balance things.
-
Hopefully that doesn't mean they will rework Myers. He's literally the most middle of the road balanced killer in the game IMO.
-
@oh_0k said:
Instead of all the Jigsaw boxes being Highlighted have one box highlighted at a time. The first box highlighted will never have the right key and survivors can still search boxes that aren't highlighted.
I like it, but it should still be completely RNG. There should be an equal chance that the first box will work as there is the last box.
-
Believe what you like, bud. I wouldn't be the first one to be a survivor main, actually play killer (and not say it without doing it) and actually figure out what is truly wrong with DBD.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/956634#Comment_956634
It's situational. You, being a killer main, would like others to believe it's a survivor sided game so the game can get easier for you. I think it's pretty balanced aside from maps and low tier killers. Not to mention keys and moris.
I'm actually a survivor main. 2500 hours in game, 80-90% of that in survivor.
-
Even AngryPug, with over 7000 hours, says it's killer sided. It's a survivor thing, not a baby survivor thing.
-
Short answer: Yes.
Slightly less short answer: Hell yes.

the 6 rank system is terrible though I'm not good enough to face rank 3s lol
This is how you get better. Those rank 3's were your rank just 2-4 days ago. They didn't get ridiculously better in that time; and if they did, so can you.

Why is the discussion seemingly so one sided on this subject? The overwhelming majority of unfun strats being criticized belong to killers (tunneling, camping, ect.) and survivors don't get scrutinized for their cheesy tactics (gen-rushing, infinite looping, etc.).
Survivors still hold much of the power in match outcome, so why aren't they called out for sticking to god windows or clutching their keys and instaheals? It is the role difference? What gives killer an unspoken rule book that survivors seem to easily dodge?
Gen rushing isn't a real thing. There is nothing else for survivors to do. You can't criticize it when it's literally their only objective.
That being said, you are right in that only killer "unfun" strategies are criticized.

"PC skillchecks are easy" - Tell that to all the red rank players who all die cause they need to destroy ruin to have a chance.

Yes.

None of us really, truly know why BHVR does what they do at the seemingly backwards priority they do it - but for some insight...it took them 2 years to rework Freddy into something that wasn't a horses ass.
HADDONFIELD REWORK 2022 CONFIRMED
-
They also need to fix Wraith and Spirit.
-
Good to see you have seen the light.
You give survivors an inch, they will take a mile. Don't ever feel bad by offing them as quick as possible. If that means tunneling, so be it. They don't give a crap about your fun as killer, and you shouldn't go out of your way to facilitate theirs.

Haddonfield should have been reworked this last Halloween. They could have put the chapter on sale and fix Myers first person animations, and I guarantee they would have made a killing.
His animations, and also his fat hands.

I actually agree with everything @DwightOP said. Well damn.
The ultra rare perks thing is trivial, cause you can make your own, but everything else, ESPECIALLY the archaic BP cap removal, needs to happen. There's no reason for it to be there anymore with everything being server side. As for the shrine...I think you overcomplicated it. I think completely random and the same for everyone is actually pretty fair. Though, it serves for most as a way to get quick bloodpoints.
Also - to add on to the Trapper buff - also make it so you can only escape from a trap if you stepped into it while fully healthy. If you were injured, you should either require help to escape and be able to walk away, or just be in dying state when escaping. That should be base kit.
-
Yeah, I don't understand the Lery's rework logic. I mean, sure it could use some love, but Haddonfield has been the most talked about map needing a rework for...ever. How they just gloss over that blows my mind. It should have been the first map reworked.
-
I agree. Survivors have all the power in the world. Learn to get better or uninstall.

"And you shouldn't need a perk to counter it"
Then why Do I need Iron will to counter spirit?
Why do I need BT/DS to counter tunneling?
You don't. Or, rather, maybe you do. That's just a testament to your own ability.

When you think about it, this game is really dumb. You are running away from a killer using windows and random wooden pallets that you drop on his head. Makes about as much sense as Super Mario.

Huntress is capable of cross map gen shots, doesnt mean it makes her S tier. Just because she is capable of being a beast killer if 99% of Nurses are D to C tier can you really call her an S tier killer?
That was an awful comparison. OOF. Those are two completely different scenarios. A cross map hatchet from Huntress, no matter how good the player, is entirely RNG and luck based. A good Nurse is entirely skill. She is S tier.

Nurse should be A or B. People keep looking at the top 1% of Nurse killers but the other 99% Nurse players are not good. I definitely think Spirit/Freddy are better than Nurse.
I agree with how Oni is rated atm but once he gets his buff where he can turn better at the end of his charge he can be B+ easily.
Hag should be higher, it doesnt take much to learn good trap placement and she can do well with map pressure and shutting down chases.
No, Nurse is definitely S tier. People not being good with her doesn't negate what she is capable of - and she is still the best and most beast killer in the game.
-
All of this nerds thumbnails have "OP" in them. He's 70% clickbait, 20% SWF, 10% actual skill.

Freddy 2.0

Just make the killer not respect the pallet.
If they respect, keep running. Keep running until they think you always will. Eventually, they'll stop respecting.

Clown should be in D tier, and switch Wraith and Plague. Other than that, solid list.

I didn't just say "git gud". You simply chose to ignore what I said as a whole and generalized it to two words. I told you to get better, and I told you why you needed to get better, and why you had all the opportunities in the world to do better and failed.
But hey, cherry pick your answers. It only serves to make you look entitled and foolish.
