Devs nerfed camping.
REEEEE CIV 5
And what did they give killers in return? Ah yes, more nerfs. The survivor escape-rate was already way to high considering they do not even need to escape to win in the first place.
im sorry, did devs show that most survivors dont escape the trial, even shown a chart that had little to no survivors escaping the trial
Look how hes already doing it by saying its only certain killers. There are stats from earlier in the year that show its pretty consistent across all killers. -
Oh for the love of god yes please.
Fed up of the ######### maps in this game. Coldwind, swamp, family residence.
I get that they want survivors to be able to stealth but boy is it ######### boring to play as killer walking around with a ######### fov trying to find people. It's not fun it's just dull.
-
Great post. Well thought out.
Didn't come off as just another disrespectful rant from a salty killer main. No not at all. -
See this is the problem. Killer mains don't want their broken killer nerfed the way survivor mains won't let go of DS so we can never have a balanced game.
They keep begging for balance but balance to them = 4k every game. Every killer needs to be OP like Billy where almost anyone can pick him up and win.
-
The balance will always be ######### as long as the devs are too pussy to remove DS.
Such a broken ######### perk. Absolutely ######### a killer over. 1 of them can kill your momentum, 2-3 just ######### you big time.
Its always the toxic teabagging ######### who use it toom -
He should keep his 115% movement speed.

That's actually not a bad idea.Raccoon said:Reduce Hatch BP to 5K, give the Killer the "bonus" 2K.
Survivor escapes, Killer gets compensation, everyone's a wiener.
This would also provide a hefty incentive to "hit it and forget it" during a Hatch standoff.
-
That's what bugged me too. What's the point in me sweating away trying to 4k with other killers when I could just switch to Billy and have 2 people hooked in the first minute? It's ridiculous how powerful he feels compared to other killers.Goldengeartwo said:
And here I am using Pig and Freddy and Doctor. What's the point when there's Billy?
I hate going against him too. The matching system normally puts in 2 survivors higher skilled than the killer and 2 lower.
Billy will have the less experienced players going down every 30 seconds. It's ridiculous.
Then you see half these noobs needing NOED on top. -
Definitely deserves a LOL

You're wasting your time. It's pretty obvious these people don't play enough survivor to know how awful it is to be tunneled down the second you're off the hook.
I know it feels bad, but as survivor you have a way out at least. You dont have that as killer unless you DC
Damn Rocky 1 - 4 were amazing.
Balboa as next survivor please.
Clubber Lang as next killer.

honestly I'd have to agree with the general consensus that it's a rank issue. The rank and matchmaking system that's currently implemented is not great and needs some tweaks. Many of my survivor rounds go exactly the way you're describing and it usually boils down to my team. yes, I screw up sometimes, but when I spend half the round working on gens, breaking totems, and being interrupted to go make hook rescues, and wondering what the hell my team is up to while I'm busy being useful... Then I can't even pretend I might be the consistent problem.
but then again I'm on xbox, and when it comes to console, I can only assume that I'm "usually" playing with literal children survivors.
(the random occasional party invites have, so far, confirmed this theory)No it's exactly the same on PC too.

It is. The only reason the Hatch is still in its current state is because BHVR keeps giving in the whiny Scrubvivors. We had a balanced Hatch with the 2.0.0 PTB. Killer could close it and Survivor could repair a gen to reopen it. It only needed two changes: the Survivor would receive a base Left Behind effect to make repairing the gens not boring and the Killer would be able to read the Survivor's aura permanently at an unlimited range after the Survivor has not tried to repair a gen for X seconds to prevent them from getting salty and holding the game hostage (not sure how many seconds, I want to give the Survivor enough time to find a gen but not too much time so Survivors cannot hide until the timer is about to expire and then just tap the gen to reset the timer and continue hiding). However, BHVR decided to listen to the crying Survivors who seemingly needed escape through the Hatch (a base LB effect probably wouldn't have shut them up either) and have the exit gates become active and then they just decided to continue working on it.Daaaaamn. Someone sounds angry.
The devs realized it was unfair and they cancelled it. Good call.

It's a consolation prize for a crap game, and if it was gone I'd never ever touch solo survivor ever again.

I've said before it wouldn't be unacceptable to ask 4 man SWF squads to lose a perk slot.
They get kindred, alert, bond, empathy etc etc all for free. Sure it's not quite as good as seeing an aura but they get enough information to cover all of those perks plus they have the benefit of co-ordination.
It wouldn't be extreme to say when people join up as a 4 man they have 1 perk slot disabled.
If the devs are too afraid to do that then they could at least compensate killers by giving them increased BP. Everyone knwows SWF is much harder due to the co-ordination, therefore maybe 1.5x BP for a 3 man and 2xBP for a 4 man. At the very least.
Suddenly losing isn't as bad if you're raking in BP for it. It also rewards killers for taking on SWF, rather than their new matchmaking system which forces them into it against their will.
The whole point here is to make solo survivor more enjoyable, and stop SWF from being overpowered.
Plus the more enjoyable solo is = more solo players = less killers crying about swf all the time.
Some, not necessarily you, may not even play killer.
Kindly don't take it personal.
Let's not pretend this isn't a huge weight in the scales of balance for the survivor side, and no mention of anything to counter balance for killers which is going to be pretty damn important.
I'm in the camp that we can't just drop a 10 ton weight on one side of the scales and hope for the best. We need to consider the other side.
Even if we don't get this idea through, there is always hook gymnastics.
Spam, but don't complete the attempt to free yourself to signal being camped.
I figured it would be a pretty universal signal by now. Even the official wiki mentions this.
The problem with buffing solos to SWF level is that they will be SWF level, and the SWF blood point multiplier won't apply to them. Randoms will be SWF strong with zero compensation.
It becomes a whole new can of worms when you are trying to buff solos to SWF. Extra blood points to vs SWF won't help as much.
It becomes an issue of every match becoming harder and harder for the killer.
That said, whe. Talking about counter balancing against solo buffs to SWF level we need general killer buffs.
I've taken it and sometimes it's useful, sometimes it makes no difference.
But it's not like we're advocating for Bond or anything that would give a whole game advantage. We're just looking at ways to maybe make the game a little more enjoyable for solo survivors who often get camped out. Kindred for free isn't strong.
Survivors hate BBQ.
I enjoy solo survivor immensely. Far more than playing killer infact. I still play killer, too.
What if they got a stripped down version? Where it only sbowed if the killer stayed within 8m for more than 5 seconds? Would only affect campers. Wouldnt just reveal the killers direction either.

Removing a perk won't counter optimal genrush.
Kindred on the other side will give solos the tools for optimal genrush. From there, the real balancing between survivor I'm general and killer can really start. But with this current gab, any nerf/buff will just get juggled around without a real balance
I.e. you get 2 people on each door ready to begin opening when the guy doing the last gen says its about to pop.
They know which gens are safe at any given time, they can work together to rush the most important gens to really give the killer the most distant gens when it comes down to the final one.
Its going to be hard to bring solo up to give them that much co-ordination.
Losing a perk slot wouldn't fix it no. But that's 4 less meta perks in the game. 1 less decisive strike, 1 less sprint burst, 1 less adrenaline, 1 less u breakable etc
Better than nothing. -
Ssh. They probably didn't realize this. If they find out, they'll buff it.artist said:

Healing is healing. Increasing your health state by +1
Mending/Snap out of it/Wake up etc are little actions designed to cure a status effect but they don't increase the health of the survivor.
It makes sense. They want these to be things that slow the survivor down. Things you will be doing often. If you make them healing actions then killers just run Nurse's calling and see them everytime they try to get rid of them.
What they did with Legion made them re-evaluate it. Seems they want to streamline everything like they did when they changed BT to fit with Mending. -

I agree 100%
I play both sides, and as a killer I'd be willing to let Kindred be baseline to make my solo survivor gane tolerable.
It's not that strong a perk against most killers anyway but it gives survivors a chance against the toxic ones. -

And thats because in those 2 specific circumstances, I had time to find the hatch because they were too busy camping a hook on the other end of the map.
With killers who go out hunting it's a different story. -

The killer could easily find the hatch first and then it's over for the survivor. Or the survivor would just have to wait far away while the killer camps the hatch which just leads to a long range standoff.
If you blocked the hatch upon a hit there would be no point in having a hatch.
Alternatively, the Survivor knows where the hatch is (because maps exist) and gets there before the Killer.

The should just do a dual type thing when the Hatch stand off is in play.
The two players enter the circle around the Hatch to start it, with increasing difficulty of hitting certain buttons.
If the killer wins he gets to mori the survivor and if the survivor wins they escape. That's completely unlike any other mechanic in the game. It'd be easier to just have it so that the entity closes off the hatch for a few seconds when the killer hits the survivor and the survivor isn't in mid-jump. Now survivors can't walk up to killers with impunity at the hatch; killers can hit survivors and it's not an automatic escape.
Also, if the killer is going for a BBQ 4 stack, they may want to hook a survivor, not mori them.

The camping in your game is so bad it's unbearable. Everyday I try to be optimistic about survivor but I always feel like playing it less and less.
At least if we could see the profile we could have an idea of if we want to play with such a toxic person or not. Killers can see survivors profiles its only fair that survivors can do the same.
Sure, but only when the killer can see SWFs
Probably wouldn't work as they'd get lobby dodged to oblivion.
But otherwise I'd be down for that. I play solo and get accused of being SWF for no reason. Sucks when someone tbags the killer and they take it out on the team by camping then explain after the game how they thought we were all friends.
SO you wanna see killer names to lobby dodge killers, but dodging SWFs is not ok?
Also I wouldn't be dodging killers, I'd be dodging specific killers who have an indication of being toxic - or people who I have played with before and I KNOW are toxic.
The same way killers can dodge survivors now who they know or suspect to be toxic.
Your way isn't dodging specific SWF, it's dodging ALL SWF.
