Adrenaline a crutch? End of the day if survivor are all allowed an instaheal at end game then I want to balance it with an instadown at end game.

I hate NOED as much as the next guy, but as long as DS and Adrenaline are in the game NOED stays to balance it out.
-
Always funny seeing the pics where new killers are upset that some swf sneaked in red ranks so they can loop the guy for 5 gens and bully him while the rest do gens.
Wheres the fun in even playing like that? -
Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Deliverance, and then Adrenaline and a med kit for self-care.
It's basically "pick me up I win, juggle me I win, slug me I win".
Saw it in a video. Doesn't feel OP at all. -
@powerbats
"Bottom line you're going to keep making excuses and tossing insults instead of addressing the main problem which is you. You seem to magically have this issue that you're unable to adapt while most everyone else can and can learn."
You act as if the entire forum isn't constantly complaining about SWF at every turn. At least I'm only complaining about SWF with 1 specific perk. So no it's not just me pal.
"You on the other hand is it's always an excuse of some kind, it's cheating, it's imbalanced, it's not fair, it's not my fault I played badly. I shouldn't have to try, i shouldn't have to adapt/learn, the survivors should just let me hook them and not try."
lmfao are you for real? You act like I haven't spent my time here in heated debates with half the forum simply because I defend survivors.
Stop putting words into my mouth. You aren't as smart as you think you are.

But killers are still stronger at low ranks. So they will catch the survivors eventually.Zarathos said:
You mean what happened with league, hearthstone and halo. Oh wait that didnt happen because heres the thing a game can balance itself without effecting lower ranked players. Low ranked killers will still bump into terrain chase badly and get juked easily. Lower ranked survivours can and will take advantage of that.ThatDidact said:@Wolf74 said:
The problem is that the Devs try to balance the game somewhere in the middle.
Trying to ease it on the low ranks and in the same process make it worse for the high ranks.
While low rank survivor get it slightly better, the high rank killer get it much worse.
Competitive Pvp games need to get balanced top down. That's how EVERY other game is doing it. I do no other game beside Dbd that is doing it otherwise.I just don't see that being viable unless you want to drive out casual survivors from the game entirely. If you balance DBD around the highest level of play, killers are going to be buffed/reworked across the board. That's going to turn the lower ranks into an absolute slaughterhouse for survivors who aren't sweating in a SWF group. I haven't been playing this game for a very long time, and I'm not an amazing killer, but I was casually 4-manning in all of my matches until I reached the tryhards. I just think that even without any of your proposed changes, killers are just too strong against lower-skilled survivors.
People tend to forget that killers as well as survivours play like crap at low ranks too.
Halo is a bad comparison because in Halo both sides are equal. In DBD they are not.

To be fair, if you think the comments in this thread were bad I'd advise not playing DBD at all.TwilightKitty10 said:Jesya said:@TwilightKitty10 said:

Really? The HUD is all your perk icons, the area where you can see the status of your fellow survivors etc.
Down in the lower left there's an icon showing what item (and add-ons) you have, if you have one. It also show their charge and how close you're to consuming your item.
Thank you. Sorry but this is the only game I've played. I saw my son playing it and liked it so created my own acct to play. I can only learn things by asking so not sure why everyone has such a negative response. I'm completely new to this. Thank you again for your help.
You may want to put in your posts that you are new when asking a question otherwise people will think you are trolling and will troll you back. Welcome to DBD.

Good to know. I will make sure to include that. With everyone saying my question is cute or adorable.... made me feel like I'm 12.
You ain't seen nothing yet.

I was injured (no SC and no medkit, all the chests were opened) and we need to do 2 more gens. I knew where hatch was, which was on the opposite side of the map from the other survivor. She would down him, camp the body, then get impatient and pick-up/drop them until they broke free. Then she would chase them for a bit and down them again. She did this OVER 10 TIMES!!!! What utter bull #########.
The guy messaged me (Xbox) and said "do gens" which I replied "I can't bc I'm injured and I also only know where 1 gen is" (it was on Lery's and the only gen I knew about was in treatment center which was basically suicide). Eventually I found another gen in a corner somewhere, so I told him to just keep her away from this side of the map. I did that gen, she continued to do her BS. At some point she let the guy go completely, and he healed then found me and healed me. We split up and I found another gen (he went to TC to do that gen). She found him obviously, but he was maybe 15 seconds from bleeding out. He did the gen in her face, and she finally decided to hook him. I dodged her BBQ making her think I went to the gate and took hatch.
The really sad part is that this killer would have easily double pipped if she just killed the guy when she caught him that first time. She got a hook on me already, and there were 2 gens left. She basically held the game hostage for no reason other than to satisfy her ego, and at the end of ALL that BS she still didn't kill me (a typical outcome to these sorts of games). I told the guy thank you for taking the death and I owe him one if I see him again in the future. I woulda been fine to trade places with him if necessary, but that's not how things went down. He was cool about it and just wanted 1 of us to escape, so we at least accomplished that.
Killers that do this are literal cancer to the game. If she wants to slug the guy and come look for me, fine, but don't expect me to be a moron and come heal the guy when it's obvious you are camping him. Man up and leave, take the chance I save him if you want the 4k. Or kill him and take your 2 pip so the game can end. Don't be a spoiled brat.

If she's pulling everyone off gens then I gen tap unless I know she's in a chase with someone else. If I get pulled off first well at least I know not to do it later.
What do I do when Myers has stalked the hell out of my team, walks by me, taps M1 and instakills me?
There are far worse things in the game. -

Ok, mark this day buddy.
You are right about this topic.
OoO+voice com is basically cheating and should get addressed, no matter how low the percentage of that combo is.Again with the cheating nonsense it's not cheating unless the devs say it's cheating that a fact no matter what anyone's opinion on the matter may be. so unless and until they say it's cheating it's not cheating.
There's also a simple solution if you have a problem with someone running the perk which is very simple. You sacrifice them thus removing your problem.
Or I could leave them on the hook and chase others, at which point the obsession could give their friends a heads up on where I'm heading and when I'm far enough for them to safely unhook.
How about you stop trying to defend every broken thing and start looking for balance?
SWF shouldn't be able to use OoO. It's exploited. Is it in the game? Yes. However is voice communication in the game? No,no it's not. By definition using a third party program to gain an advantage is an exploit. So while you say they accounted for SWF, they've never actually made voice communication a thing.
The thing is though I'm not asking for them to get rid of swf and voice comms. I get that it's unbalanced but its always going to be there.
All I'm asking for is to stop swf on voice comms using this one specific perk because it basically gives the group wallhacks. -

In any other game, you'd need hacks to pull this off. It's overly powerful.
In DBD though "it's a feature", because who cares about balance when you can allow every silly little thing you can think of right?
I don't mind OoO solo, you can see each other, that's the trade off. When a SWF uses it though it's extremely unfair. 4 of them know where you are but you can only see one.
The devs built wallhacks into the game ffs 🤨 -
3:17 guy gets hooked
4:27 he gets unhooked
4:30 other survivor takes a hit
Gee I wonder what happened there 🤔 -
Eh I've had it before. Had it last week as well with a Myers. At least half way through the slug though he had the common sense to realize he was never going to find me unless he got out and searched.
Note to killers - Chances are if you've slugged a guy and you're always within eyesight of him, the other survivor won't be foolish enough to come for the heal. And yes, we survivors are watching you the entire time. Like sneaky little meerkats. -

Unsurprisingly they're all NOED gamers too.

But DCing to give your mate the hatch is ok?

I mean I never typed that but if you want we can pretend I did? -
No it was a Doctor. He slugged the other survivor because he wanted the 4k. He'd walk out maybe 20m or so but kept lookong back. It was obvious he was just afraid to turn his back in case I healed the guy.Keene_Kills said:Big question: Was the survivor an obsession (not due to the killer's perk choices)? If so, I don't blame 'em for letting 'em lay slugged... it'll give 'em some time to ponder over a different perk selection for the next game. Otherwise, hook 'em, enjoy the 4K, and move on to the next match.
Edit: Upon rereading responses, I see Wolf touched on the very real possibility of DS (and the likely free escape) above.
Guess we could pull the old chestnut others tend to throw out of "fix it by running this perk every game" with No Mither or Unbreakable.
But when he refused to venture out from the center of the map it means he was never going to see me tucked away behind a wall near a corner.
So he wasn't daring to come out and look for me but because he was constantly running back and forth and looking at the other survivor I couldn't get to them safely to heal them.
So it was just a slow few minutes. -

Disagree, especially since a lot of SWF all run the perk. Thay's why you see one sat right on the last gen as you walk right up to them, because they know as soon it it pops they're all getting a health boost.
Now tell me, other than perhaps say Billy if the entire team is alive and they all get an instaheal once the last gen pops how the hell am I meant to counter that?
What am I meant to do with Wraith? With 20 seconds to take out 4 people with full health?
At least if 2 were injured you could maybe get 2 hooks out of it.
You counter it by not letting all 5 gens pop.

There we go again with the faux-intellectual gimmick, assuming that the more pretentious you sound the more correct you are.
I've seen your debates with other people. I know your ways.
And nobody said SWF was cheating. Nice attempt at putting words into my mouth. The point is that SWF on voice comms where one is using Object of obsession is broken and the information gathered for the team would only be aquired by cheating in other games. -

Because I intend to keep disconnecting, and you say once you get dedicated servers you intend to punish disconnecting more so.....might as well be upfront with people now so I can choose to stop spending money on the game.
SWF with OoO breaks the game.
So then you admit you're going to break the rules and thus you accept any punishments that come for it.
And yeah why not. It's a broken mechanic and would be laughed at in any other game. I've grown tired of wasting games proxy camping them. It's not fun. -
The only ones who get the hatch after doing nothing are immersed claudettes.
Generally the less experienced players who do little get spotted and die first anyway. The more experienced players who can run better, hide better and do more work are normally the last ones standing for the hatch.
I consider it a consolation prize for getting dud teammates. We've all been therem when you're trying to do gens but you gotta keep pulling two numptys off the hook every 10 seconds and you work your ass off trying to save them and get 2 gens done at the same time. -

Every killer needs to be OP like Billy where almost anyone can pick him up and win.
Come on dude, this just isn't true. Billy is balanced and it's not a case of "anyone can pick up and play him and win". That's just nonsense. A good survivor can loop the Billy like any other, Billy just has the means to punish mistakes better and also force more mistakes at certain tiles.
Billy is balanced. I wish people would stop making these threads, it's getting ridiculous and is embarrassing tbh, especially when people agree with them, without knowing they don't know how to play against a Billy properly, or even play as Billy properly. It's a joke.
Yeah he can be looped, but bamboozle, enduring, spirit fury cover a lot of those. If the billy knows how to mind game hes pretty much set.
I've had his chainsaw hit me over objects before. Its like if even a pixel from it goes nesr your character it counts as a hit.
You pick him up and you can just feel hes instantly above every othee character in the game aside from the nurse. I can get 2 hooks in like 30 seconds if I catch the survivvors in the open. Other killers dont come anywhere close to that. -

The problem is at low rank survivor the survivors go down in about 10 seconds. So its not as simple as just increasing gen times.
-
I mean being too afraid to step too far from the slug guy in case he gets healed.
Either hook the guy on the floor or go look for the other survivor and take the risk that he gets picked up.
Hanging around the guy on the floor wastes everyones time. The other survivor can probably see you and will stay at an angle where you can't see them.
Its funny because you can tell from how bad a player they are that they will do this, and have noed. -
Notice I said "then proceed to camp the body anyway".Wolf74 said:So we have an ingame mechanic that can deny the killer 4K by giving the last survivor a free escape, but a killer playing tactically around that mechanic to get the 4th kill is "pathetic"?

There were two parts to my point, so calm down princess.
Why slug if you're too afraid to step more than 16m away from the body? The survivor you can't see at the far side of the map stays hidden, and you just completely waste everybodys time.

The problem is DBD isn't a game like Quake or Rainbow Six where both sides are practically even, both have extremely different roles and abilities here.
The killer is fast and can hit. Survivors are slow and can not. The killer dominates lower ranks with many new killers able to consistently 3k/4k right out of the gate. Survivors run and drop pallets behind them but it does little to slow the killer down. At the same time you have extremely timid survivors who hear the killers heartbeat and run immediately for the nearest locker wasting precious time that could be spent on generators.
Then something magical happens. Survivors learn they can run around a pallet area before using it. Right there the balance shifts. Even if they start out bad at looping, little by little they waste more of the killers time. Many loops are easy to pull off anyway requiring little skill on the survivors behalf, and probably by playing killer survivors learn of the bigger, nastier loops such as the ironworks window. So long as they get lucky with finding pallets they can really drag the game out.
The survivors now have the advantage and fresh faced killers begin tearing their hair out. How are they meant to win when they've chased the guy all game and he found pallet after pallet after pallet? in addition survivors become more confident which means more time spent on generators even if it's right in front of the killers face.
Now it's on the killer to adapt. They need to grind for the usual anti-looping perks however it is a slow process. More importantly on top of this they need to learn how to mindgame loops, but before they can mindgame a loop they need to first learn the loops themselves to understand how a survivor is going to try and run it. There is nothing most killers can actually do is the survivor is on the opposite side of an obstacle outside of nurse or spirit, so the killer can only rely on mind trickery to win this. It's also important for the killer to understand when to commit to a chase and when to let go, when to purse and when to switch targets, when to play offensively and when to play defensively.
The game starts out so simple for killer. You run, you hit. Survivors get screwed. Then the game switches in favour of survivor, you run in a circle, you drop a pallet, and now the killer needs to adapt real fast.
There are plenty of great killers out there who manage to consistently win at rank 1, however it does take more skill to be a top killer than a top survivor for the above reasons. I feel the dynamics of this game is where there's such a huge switch.

It's great on Billy on some maps. He gets the notification then he's right on top of you. I wouldn't bother with it on most other killers.
Works great on Lery's too. -
It's one of the biggest maps so it hurts killers, especially slow killers.
Also when they burn an offering it's normally because they either know of an exploit or have memorized and perfected all of the best looping spots. -
DS needs removing entirely.
If you want a free escape, hope your team is good with a flashlight or they've been sabotaging hooks. -
But that's the point. They won't go in a locker ever again. Which means they can't use it when they're on the verge of going from up a madness level. Just by taking the perk you're basically taking lockers away from them unless they want to risk it.Mister_xD said:@The_Crusader said:

Why? So we no longer can say "but this does it"?????? I'm so confused.
Btw, here's a definition of mend:
"return to health; heal."
Oh.
But mending isint a healing action.
Ok.
Yep, they twist logic upside down just to protect their precious survivor.
Bloody hell calm down lad.
Doctors only counter to his madness was lockers. With the new perk lockers will becomd extremely dangerous - revealing your location and leaving you exposed.
He will probably be better off.
Plus what kind of good survivofs healed in his terror radius anyway? Especially when most took distressing.
the devs have just buffed calm spirit to a point where its literally the anti doctor perk, due to it leaving his tracking ability almost useless, so no. lockers are not the only counter. however, i feel like you completely overrate iron maiden. this perk is literally useless, due to the fact that survivors get notified, that they are exposed now after leaving a locker, so they will probaply never go in a locker again.
also, a lot of survivors heal in the killers TR. they especially like to snap out of it while being close to you, as they dont want to scream, revealing their location, so they will simply perform that action, hit the skillchecks and therefore remain unseen. if you run nurses on doc, you see a lot of survivors sitting in a corner / behind a wall snapping out of it, so this nerf hits doc pretty hard.

Even 1 player only is still too much.
In many situations it grants that person a 100% guarenteed escape and there is nothing the killer csn do about it.
