  • Survivor gets dull because its a camfest

With killer you get balance issues and extremely toxic swf

So...swf is the only way to enjoy this game sometimes
  • There's no debate, mostly everyone agrees he's garbage aside from a few people shilling.

It gives lockers more use. Before they were just for new players to be scared in and for the occasional Q&Q play. This way lockers can actually be used to hide more effectively, rather than being a death sentence because the killer sees your goofy statue shaped aura sitting there free for the picking.

I do agree that OoO probably shouldn't do that, though I don't see any huge problem with it either. Keeping track of the killer is already fairly easy. The perk usually doesn't see much use, and when it does, it's to get the killer's attention and get them to waste their time searching an area for you.

BBQ is going to be even better now with Iron Maiden. Survivors who try to hide their aura will be exposed and have the location revealed anyways.

Regarding Freddy though, he's going to be reworked. This is not to nerf Freddy.
Iron maiden is useless as survivors stop using lockers once they realize they're exposed. So now you need to waste a perk slot just to get BBQ to the level it was at before.

Also OoO doesn't get much use? Well I wish I had your games. It's quite common for me to see it, swf groups use it a lot.

I still don't understand the locker aura buff/nerf.
    Why was it necessary?

Survivors have cried enough about BBQ and the developers came to the rescue.

    1. If you use object of obsession and are in a locker you can see the killers aura but he cant see yours.

I absolutely DESPISE this change. It shows how little the developers know about SWFs and their advantages.

The thing is there has been 1,000,000 times the amount of crying over DS than there has over BBQ.

But which one gets nerfed? Oh yeah the more harmless one.

Its obvious which side is prioritzed. Thats why they've nerfed pickup animations too. Survivors arent enjoying the game as much because it hasnt been as easy to bully killers recently.
  • You think they give a ######### about OoO using lockers? They've allowed swf to get away with it on comms for years now.

A locker just makes it even easier for them. They've proven time and time again that they have absolutely no intention of ever balancing this perk.
  • Legion is very fun for survivors. Literally no skill required. Even the most basic of pallet loops can hold him at bay for a long time.
  • Go play Hag without using any traps. That's legion.

In fact it makes sense now because that's pretty much how Cote plays - hag without using traps in a chase. Guessing to some people it is fun?
  • These are the devs who think it's fine for 4 man swf to abuse the OoO perk for basically wallhacks.

You think they give 2 shits about balance? No, everything in this game is designed to give the majority (survivors) fun at the expense of the minority (killers).

Who was it who said killers arent meant to be killers, just a buffoon who entertains the survivors for a few minutes like a ######### party clown. Right now that feels pretty damn true.

    Yeah this is pretty disgusting.

They advertised Legion as a group of four. Fair enough they're only skins but after advertising Legion as four they should have given you four.

I really thought that in the shop are just their premium outfits and they had plain outfits for all 4 ingame.

    So did I.

The dlc specifies 4 people, yet you're literally only paying for half off the group.

There really should be a disclaimer like "*Some content sold seperately".
  • ad19970 said:

Do you suggest all these changes at once? Or just one of them? because all of them would be way too much, he'd become brokenly overpowered. The problem is that he's not fun to play against. Buffing him any further could easily make him way to frustrating to deal with.

Yeah I think some people are asking for too much.

@Orion Yes glad we can agree that the problem is the game becomes more boring at rank 1. Thats kind of what I was saying, its just claudettes or megs with sprint burst/dead hard dashing straight for the biggest loops in the game every time. It becomes repetitive.

@RSB Survivors need more tools to go 1 vs 1 with a killer too. More exhaustion perks!!!

DS should be used as much as survivor likes, not just once. It is high risk (for killer) and high reward (for survivors) so it is balanced. Like hexes.

And lets get that perk where survivors can punch killers, or get weapons to fight back like in friday 13th

Because everybody knows survivors need more buffs.

The solution is pretty simple - we need more loops, so poor survivors can enjoy some diversity running around the object like a [BAD WORD], instead of running around same loops over and over again.

We need better killers. I was using a ######### one for my daily.

    Nurse can just blink

    Hag can place traps

    Spirit can phase walk

Most of the others are just duds.
  • Yes it is a campfest. This is why solo survivor is worthless.

Either play with friends or play killer instead.
  • No because then he could just spam m1 on a survivor over and over until they're down

Look, bottom line is that ranked play in any game is always going to be the same. Your success or failure will depend on how well you can counter the strategies that are used. That's why, in the few multiplayer games that I play, I avoid ranked gameplay at all costs. In DbD, since I have no choice, I try to stay at rank 10-ish (no, I don't derank). It's simply not fun to have to do the same thing over and over and over and over again.

Wait what? I thoight you were the one saying yoj were pro.

No wonder the camp and tunnel strategy works for you.

And I tried to stay low rank this month. I had to start messing about with survivors to derank. Because you get safety pips too easy.

It was nice. Not because survivors were easy hit because I could use the bottom tier killers who I have no perks for. It would be frustrating using them in red ranks.

And yes, survivors at the low ranks play the game how it feels like it was meant to be played imo. Sure they'll still run pallet loops but they don't do the bigger loops that you get in red ranks.

Once you're at high rank it feels like it's all about abuising the mechanics of the game as much ad you can. Sure DBD isn't alone in this but still...

Once you start playing properly though, using killers you're good with and once you start winning to earn BP then you just fly through the ranks right back up to red.

I see in your rush to try and berate me you missed the part where I said I don't blame them for doing it.

It's just incredibly boring chasing someone and for their first, second and third hook they bolt straight for the same loop every time.

The loops aren't even fun they just feel like a chore.

Then why make a discussion complaining that’s its boring and then proceed to say ‘oh please don’t criticise me’. Like really? Just don’t post anything then.
No you tried to critisize me for something I never said. That's the difference.
Okay well if that’s not what you were saying then you’re basically just whining for no reason at all. Wah the gameplay is the same wah. Here’s an idea, stop crying about people vaulting windows and running around pallets and go find a different game to play. The new Assassins Creed is pretty good, go play that. ASSASSINS CREED IS BORING ALL I DO IS FIGHT MERCENARIES WAH!! Useless thread.
Gee someone sounds angry. Why you so mad bro?

And its not all loops, just the bigger loops that get used time and time again. Especially when its multiple times each game.
  • They thought he would be fun.

I've never felt so useless as a killer as I do when I use legion.

So say they're in the killer shack, you just use frenzy, vault the pallet, then cancel and immediately M1 them?

Does that sound balanced to you?

when nurse can just teleport over the pallet and smack them, yes it does lmao

If nurse misses she gets a stun, legion doesnt.

Nurse at least takes some skill to use, legion wouldnt

And nobody ever said nurse was balanced. Its widely acknowledged shes the best because she breaks the game.

  • The best way to buff every killer would be to add a sprint button for killers. It's slowly waddling over the map that kills them.

Of course it couldn't be a normal sprint as that would make them OP. It would have to take a second to reach full speed, having them sprint at....maybe +5% speed, and then when they stop sprinting there would be a cooldown in which time they can't attack. The cooldown would be about the same length of time as missing Billy's chainsaw swing.

There would probably have to be an increase in terror radius when using it though to balance it out. Maybe +4m or +8m

This means a killer couldn't ever use it at a pallet loop but it would help them cross large distances a little quicker.

Wouldn't affect Nurse because she's so slow anyway and teleports are her method of travel

Wouldn't affect billy because his chainsaw sprint would still be faster.

Wouldnt affect spirit as her phase walk would still be faster

Wouldnt affect wraith as his cloal speed would still be faster.

So nobody would be op. However freddy, clown, pig, doctor etc wouldn't lose as much time when crossing the map.
  • Yeah I'd like it too.

Much faster reload time, saves an add-on slot for something else, and stops survivors from hiding in lockers when it's end game.
  • @Delfador

Either stop pulling things out of your backside or give up.

I've always said Camp & tunnel is bad and lazy. It's not as efficient as looping the biggest loops anyway.

This thread wasnt even about ripping on survivors that do it. Already said I can't blame them. It's just incredibly tedious seeing someome run for the same loop time and time again.
  • He is not that bad, you just need to learn how to play them correctly

Yeah, he is bad, but just above bing bong, freddy and dare i say hag as well

    Legion above hag....🥴

If I play Rainbow Six I don't get the guy on the other team deciding to jump out of a building window and then run back through and out of the window again.

Because that's not the most efficient strategy in that game. Did you even read what I said?

When the most efficient strategy is running to the same spot over and over again and running in a loop around it then the game design or maps need reviewing.
  • Delfador said:

Camp and tunnel --> Killers don't need to think about survivors' fun, it is the most efficient strategy, what should I do, go after the fully healed person?

Survivors using the best and most efficient strategy for themselves --> Bad game design, crutch, unskilled survivors, boring etc. etc.

Please guys at least be a little bit consistent.

Yes, becauase I haven't spent the past few weeks in heated debate in thread after thread arguing with all the killer mains about how ######### camp and tunnel is.

Does anyone on this forum read things befofe they jump to conclusions? Or do they just like to rush smartass comments?

And yes it is bad game design where a survivor runs around a building every time, but I never said they were unskilled. Well it doesn't take much skill to actually do the loops but its only the tryhards who are skilled who know them and dare do them.
  • When they're running out the exit gates but you're too slow to stop them so you want to use your power but then you can't actually down them.

Feels like Freddy all over again.
  • Yeah seen other people saying they can down people good this way.

Which goes back to what ScottJund was saying about legion being not fun for survivors or killers.

    Literally Freddy 2.0
  • Orion said:

That's the problem with the high rank in any game. There are simply some strategies that are more efficient, and those at high rank will use them exclusively.

I don't even mind if survivors got a small buff to stealth personally. I'm just not a fan of the idea that Claudette is even harder to see now too. Stealth should take a bit of skill but with Claudette you can just hide in certain spots and be pretty much invisble, that's not really skillful, anyone could do that. Not a fan of skins impacting gameplay that much.

Do you honestly see that many Claudettes? I casually play Claudette and I'm Tier 2 with her purple wavy hair. I like her backstory, she's awesome.
Most of the time I play with Megs, Neas, and white jacket Davids.

    You dont see many claudettes?

Shes by far the most common character I come across. It's so boring.
  • It's the same for both side really.
Killer is boring on high rank because the survivor meta as been stale for almost the entire game existance
Survivor is boring because the vast majority of killer you will face will be billy because the dev don't want to create killer that are as competitive as him (because of survivor backlash) or nerf him (because of killer backlash)

If you had on top of that that the dev take literal year to bring very little change to whatever they decide to rebalance or change (Wraith Cube, Freddy Rework, DS nerf, Improved totem placement etc...)
And the fact that survivor have been fixing those damn gen for 2 [BAD WORD] year without any variation whatsoever

    Yeah
    The game is pretty dull

P3 Claudette or maybe a meg or nea with sprint burst/dead hard, decisive strike, self-care, urban evasion/borrowed time/adrenaline

Yeah its so predictable. It wont change either until they bring out another extremely powerful perk.
  • They should give walls friction  but no doubt the game would be review bombed to hell.
  • The dlc outfits look a billion times better too than what we got. Same as always though I guess.
  • Yeab it definitely needs to be longer. Right now sprint burst cripples it.

Not to mention thst you need to use it to get around some of the larger maps. Yet it just doesnt last long enough at all.
  • The fence loop on badham and the building on wretched shop really needs to get looked into imo. You can waste so much of the killer's time by simply holding shift+w and there's nothing the killer can do about it because it's physically impossible to cut the chase time.
Yeah wretched shop was another. It shocked me that if they hug the walls tight enough they can actually make it back around.

Looping is such a stupid thing.
  • Glad you guys agree.

I don't blame the survivors for trying to live it's just that when you chase someone and every single time they run for the same loop I roll my eyes. It's dull.

Look at grim pantry. Fairly large map yet I swear 90% of the action takes place underneath the pantry itself.

These "hot spots" need to go. I'd love to see an activity map if the devs could get those stats. I.e places where people mostly walked were red and least walked places green.
  • I've done ok with him in some games but even then I've never felt as bullied as I do when playing Legion. You can just feel that he's underpowered.

Having your frenzy run out just before you can even get to someone, but you need to use it early because he's slow as hell.

Plodding around at 110% movement speed.

Getting looped endlessly while survivors exploit the hell out of his poor design.

Having survivors run towards the exit, and you either frenzy for speed at which point you cant down them and  they win, or you walk after them at which point you're too slow to catch them in time and they win.

  • You think the devs give a #########? They've allowed SWF to abuse OoO for 2 years now.
  • Ohhhh yeah Claudette is invisible now. I was playing Billy to grind for BP and there was a gen I kicked it and looked for the person who started it. I looked everywhere for her and I mean everywhere around the gen. I walk like 10-15 ft from the gen, come back and see that it’s been touched again, once again I look around the gen. Nothing. Then I finally catch her because I saw her move. She was invisible. Claudette is even more op now because of these graphic changes.
    And thats the problem.

You either waste time looking for them while oters do gens, or you let them go and they're straight back on the gen.

So its even more time wasted in a game where you have very little of it.

Buffed fog and more aura counters.....yeah claudettes going to be loving this.

Of course its a survivor, look at his name

    Lol fair point
  • Ok I've been getting results with him these past few games. Against red ranks too. Hell last game I won was against a swf on haddonfield with greentoolboxes, all the meta perks and an instaheal syringe.

    #########?

Don't get me wrong, they can loop this guy until the end of time, but if they stay injured during the game and you know how to mindgame then yeah....you can get some results. Watching all those good streamers has paid off.

I've got crud perks so I'm taking Beast of pray. Maybe thats why? People that should be playing better but they're often walking into me.

Of course if its a loop that cant be mindgamed then you're screwed.
  • That sounds like typical survivor games. That's why I stopped playing it.
  • Must be a survivor.

Buffed fog and more aura counters.....yeah claudettes going to be loving this.
  • At this point I wouldnt be surprised if tht was the intent.
  • IMO

    - Don't reset his power fully. If you only use half, let it recharge from half like the spirit. I like to use a bit to cover more ground going towards a far gen, but save a bit so that its recharged fully by the time I get near the gen. With soirit you can do this, with legion you cant as it resets his poeer fully when you cancel frenzy.

    - Reduce the stun time a little bit. Maybe 20%?

Now the biggest issue obviously is his movement speed. 110 makes him worthless. Just having survivors run around a truck on auto-haven holds him at bay for long enough, god help you if you get to the shack.

115 would have him too strong.

112.5....its not perfect but its probably the best compromise.
  • Oh and don't get me wrong, my games' kill rates ranged anywhere from 1 all the way to 4 kills tonight, in purple ranks. But I can tell you, that I did not enjoy playing a single one of them.

    For once we agree.

I think his power needs to not reset like spirits. I.e. if he only uses half a bar befofe you press cancel, then it should resume recharging from half way.

The stun duration could be reduced a little bit too.

It felt like a pain in the ass using him.
