  • Everybody hates it. That's why survivors burn 5 of these offerings in one session. It has the safest loops, see through walls so no mindgames, and corn which makes survivors, especially claudettes disappear. You can tell they're some of the oldest maps just by how bad the design feels in 2018.

  • I'm not surprised he was pissed. Looping in some areas with how windows spawn just feels broken and is awful map design. It needs fixing.

Having said that, the fact that he said "next time you'll get tunneled as Nurse" is why I said killers shouldn't be able to see survivor names. Some get stroppy when you call them out for camping, or sometimes just because you won and they single you out next game to make life miserable. If I tbag then fair enough but if I'm playing normally then there's no need.

  • There is a very simple fix which BHVR should have implemented already.

Matchmaking should go off the highest ranking member of the team as it's a choice to play in an SWF with higher ranks.

It may also help with high rank queue's.
Yup. All you get now is red ranks taking DS and flashlight and being as toxic as possible to loop and bait the killer for 5 gens. Then telling them to kill themselves post game.

They need to put them with highest ranks. Should help out high rank queues somewhat too.

Don't want to sound like an ### but, maybe increase your rank?  Rank 10 and below I've never been face camped, unless you count when the exit gates are open but even I do that. Most killers realise that camping gets you only one garunteed kill, and when it does it barely gives and BP. Face camping only occurs around rank 10 and below, when someone is being extremely toxic or, exit gates are open and the killer wants at least one kill.

Camping occurs at all ranks. It can be worse at low rank though no doubt.

Ranking up isn't a good solution here's why...

You rank up. Like I did last month.

The devs decide to push a button on the 13th, you go back to green.

Don't play it for a week because I have other things to do...

Now what? I need to go through an army of noobs just to get to a rank where there is a chance of having less camping.

The problem is that you need to go through a number of games to get to a decent rank and it simply isn't fun.

You watch your teammates go down every 10 seconds. You're trying to do gens and rescue them at the same time.

And at the end of it all? Your team dies and you gst stuck with a long and tedius hatch crawl, followed by a nice 10 minute standoff as the noob on the other end decides that after the hard work effort he went through to facecamp everyone out of the game he now somehow deserves the 4k.

It doesn't feel like fun. It feels like a chore.

If I didn't get reset every month then I'd do it. Whats the point at the moment though? I'll only go back to green at reset, and again the month after, and the month after that etc

So it starts to feel like work. Where you feel you have to slug away and sit through ######### just to get to a rank where the game might become enjoyable.

Theres no problem as killer because killer is fine to play ranking up. Solo survivor however....

Theres also the fact that the game needs to be enjoyable for newcomers. If they start playing and during green ranks they just get camped to death they'll quit playing and there won't be any future players to replace those who are leaving. The community will die.

Ranking up is soo easy in this game...
if you have trouble doing it you should check how you are playing the game.

Ah yes "git gud" didn't see that coming.

Ranking up as killer is extrenely fast.

As survivor from green rank its still mostly 1 pip since you're reliant on the circumstances being just right to double pip - i.e. you need teammates to get hooked, and it needs to be near enough for you to get the unhook rather than someone else.

Its also 4-5 games per level. So you can see how it becomes quite a time consuming task to get up from low ranks.

This would only screw lobbys even more, as this community is butthurt, a lot of survivors would avoid killers that outplayed them and lobbys would take ages to fill.

The same thing can be said about killers, let them see SWF then they would basically avoid all of them, making lobbys take ages.

I think the best option is: no one sees nothing. Survivors can't see the killer or other survivors and killer can't see survivors either.

That would be an acceptable solution.

This isn't to cherry pick, its to stop me as survivor from getting that one guy who wants to tunnel and camp specifically me all game just because I called him out for camping someone else in the last game.

Although as killer I do like seeing survivors profiles because its amazing how many toxic looking ones i.e. p3 claudettes have vac bans. I tend to avoid people with vac bans. They have no shame.
  • Basement should be permanent at some structures. Preschool, Thompson house (take out the awful attic hook), Ward, and Grim Pantry. We already have it on Game and Haddonfield, I don't see a problem with it on other maps that need it.

On one hand I feel that's needed. If they go to those ######### little areas over and over again then they deserve the basement.

On the other hand it would be really hard to get them in the basement if you downed them anywhere else.

I've said before the area underneath the grim pantry needs changes. It's such a confusing mess when they keep changing the entrances. I really don't like areas like preschool basement or under rhe oantry, claustrophobic confusing little areas wirh no line of sight. I assume its to be easy for survivors but it often comes across as frustrating rather than fun. Even as survivor i can die under the pantry because I can't find a way out lol
  • Because with many killers they run you around a pallet 3 times and there's nothing you can do about it.

With Clown they get to run to that pallet once and then they're forced to drop it. Feels like how the game should be played.

For this reason I find him fun. It takes out the frustration of looping.

Also if you use his 2 green add ons together, the survivors are so slow it's like they're stuck in quick sand. They can't even get to the next pallet lmao

Yeah I really like him. His map pressure is ######### so for this reason he's not top tier but he's easily better than half of the roster.
  • I don't see why you would? Unless you really don't like one side.

I try to play both because both are fun. Its all part od the same game. If you dont care for one side though then there's nothing wrong with only playing the other. I do think its harder to relate to balance issues if you don't play both sides though. I.e. playing killer the hatch seems unfair, but then playing survivor you realize it gives you a reason to play on once its obvious your team are potatoes and there's no way to actually win.

I play both of them and try not to be toxic... Pls don't hate me.

    you "try", lol

Some killers tunnel/camp/nod at me for no reason so I play the rest of the match (if I get a chance to get off hook) being toxic. It only happens in 1/13 games but it still is somewhat common for me.

Well people have a bad opinion of these characters due to them being over-represented when it comes to toxic players.

Nea with the pink hair or beanie cosmetics especially, or P3 claudette but then its any claudette really.
  • Yeah. Just one hook down there would be good.

Also, is it just me or is the hook spawns on The Game completely screwed right now? It feels like there are barely any hooks on the lower level.
The Game used to be fun as killer but now due to the hook problem its stressful.

Show support in there my man.

I had 4 games yesterday. They ran down to the basement area every single time knowing full well they couldn't be hooked. One even managed to break free and run down and get the hatch because of it. What a broken, busted game. You literally can't do anything.

Survivors like those ruin everything. Everything they find has to be exploited to hell and back.

    The basement needs 2 hooks.

Arent they making franks mixtape baseline now?

Not sure, probably a good QoL buff for legion, but boring and annoying for the survivor.

    Ok I looked it up.

If you don't heal against him and he hits you with Frenzy then your bar starts at a lower percentage. So it will take less hits to down people.
  • Arent they making franks mixtape baseline now?
  • The problem is the game can't be balanced. Half the killers in the game are useless if the survivor is good. All they have to do is stay on the opposite side of a loop and the killer can't do #########. You clear out that pallet and they  just run a few metres to another, then another, then the shack, then a jungle gym.

Some of them there's no mindgame. It takes very little skill on the survivors side too. Its just hold the run button.

On the opposite side you have Nurse who survivors cry they have no counter for.

The whole system needs to change.
  • Ugh. I've had just about enough of these two characters. Really fed up of all the toxic people using them due to two infamous youtubers who are little more than vermin.

I'd love new Feng cosmetics though.
  • For killer - DS is my major gripe. The game wouldn't be perfect but I'd be much happier with it gone. It just feels unfair. I can't think of much else that bugs me that much other than map design. Adrenaline would have to go if NOED went, but then if Noed stays adrenaline can stay.

For survivor BBQ doesn't bother me. NOED only bothers me when used on ######### killers. I guess my biggest issue as survivor is camping and tunneling. I'd rather risk my chances with NOED than have a Trapper who circles the hook over and over again just waiting for someone to unhook so he can tunnel.

Also Billys chainsaw woulf need adjustments. If you're within a 5m radius it seems to count as a hit.
  • Killers might get salty on a bad run, but survivors are the only ones sending toxic chat after winning a match. Even offering myself for the hook; a killer never sent me a "gg, so ez u suck"

Love how Dstrike still isn't nerfed. Survivors act like it isn't a big deal to have a crazy perk like this until they play killer and work your ass off to kill three annoying SWF survivors, and then you have to deal with the fourth that has a free reset. Dunno how that could be seen as entitlement when the perk is blatantly overpowered with absolutely no downsides and no action taken by the developers.

    @DexyIV

    • 40% of my playtime i spend it on playing as a killer.
    • 4DS is rare as hell
Last but not least, if DS was truly op i would use it all the time, believe me.
But why run a 1 time use perk, which can be used at the beginning and get stuck with 3 perks for the rest of the match?
My unpopular opinion is that resilience is a better perk than DS, yeah, you heard that right.

Killers run Ruin all the time, it's the same principle, except Ruin has a counter and DS is OP and broken. I've definitely gone against 3-4 survivors with DS, and 2 is very common. At least one survivor has it 95% of matches I play. And it isn't even about if there is multiple in a game. There being one in a game is enough to screw things up. I don't understand why everyone is like "stop whining and deal with it" rather than express displeasure so BHVR sees it is important to change it. Why exactly are we not allowed to complain about an OP perk? Why is that a bad thing? Why is the response "get over it" rather than "you're right, that perk sucks" or "I don't agree but I understand why you feel that way." This community is so [BAD WORD] toxic it's disgusting.

I'd love to know where this lie comes from when people claim "nobody uses DS anymore".

Like yourself I find it in almost all of my games. I play far more games with an obsession than without. Often multiple people will have it.

Those that claim nobody uses it are either lying or very, very, very lucky.

The worst part is the devs have admitted DS is too strong and that it needs to change and yet here are, all this time later and it still haven't changed.

Its hands down my biggest gripe with the game and the biggest obstacle to balance imo

The killer didn't even pick the survivor up, I doubt the hook were that far away all he's worried about it DS, that's how the perk is until they change it, it's one kill and it really doesn't matter.

He complains that the survivor didn't crawl about but are we really going to believe this killer who does nothing but moan about survivor would have really picked that survivor up for fear of hurting is ego and losing a kill to dstrike? Give me a break, he has 4 stacks, so he's already hooked this person, who's to say they haven't used it already?

And here we go with the conspiracy theories 🙄

Why wouldn't I have hooked them? Just for the sake of taking a pic and arguing on here? I like how you make me out to be a salty killer main...as if I haven't spent my time here mostly arguging with killers and being called a survivor main for it.

I dribbled them to the hook earlier thats how I got my stack. Found them at the end here. Of course they still had their Decisive, why do you think they're staying there? Because they knew there was no hooks nearby either.

Put the tinfoil hat down, it doesn't suit you.
  • Play to derank, run up to killer and beg for death. Killer talks smack about how good he is after the game about how good he is.

Play killer to goof off using padded traps and every bp perk I can . Let survivors go after hooking them all once - Survivors talk smack about baby killers.

Yep working as intended. Time to go play some Santa Clown! (He is lvl 1, but so fun to run! Letter openers for all the kiddies, and fingers for me!!)

    LOL

I remember desperately trying to derank during the hallowed blight due to cue times. Had a game where I was messing about, didn't even try to hook or down survivors due to how easy it is to safety pip, had this Claudette post game telling me how I got "BULLIED!".
  • Yup. Equally if the killer camps and survivors rush gens then they don't pip either.

The survivor pipping system needs an ovehaul. Killer mains won't allow it though yet then act surprised when rank 1 lobbys take ages.
  • I'd just be happy if they removed DS. If survivors want an escape make them work for it, flashlight saves, bodyblocking etc

This makes them get off gens to save. Nobody gets off gens when it's the obsession because you know they're going to escape all by themself.
  • All i see is a greedy killer who wants a 4k regardless of having all 4 BBQ stacks , difference between decisive and noed is simple one takes skills to use and also a DLC perk the other one you rely on the survivors to be sloppy rushing gens then you’re rewarded also keep in mind a free perk you can get in the bloodweb.
    Nice bait. 8/10.

Being granted a free escape based on a perk you picked before the game even began = skill.

Noed, a perk which can be completely.nullified is the real issue however.

And lol at whining about "greedy killers". DBD must be the only game on earth where you're shamed for doing your objective and taking out the other team. What about all those greedy survivors who want all 5 gens rather than just settling for 4?
  • Showstopper has a fierce hatred for Claudettes and keeps a count of how many he has killed lol.

I'll have to check him out. Sounds like my kind of guy.

It's a standoff only because you refused to eat the DS. I can understand the motivation, but imo you can't complain about this situation if it's on you.
As a killer you should always try to get rid of DS in the early game, since it becomes stronger toward the end of the match. It's not always possible, but ending in such situations is most of the time a killer's misplay.
Also the survivor was smart and positioned himself so the killer couldn't avoid DS, can't say he "doesn't deserve it" because he clearly had a precise strategy in mind.
In any case you get 2500 by not doing anything for a couple minutes. At that point you just go eat a sandwich, win-win for you.

Eating the DS early is a great way to put yourself in a bad position, lose momentun, or give the survivors more gen time.

It's not worth it. That's why many ignore the obsession if possible.

In fact that we're all aggressively attacking the middle generator for ages. All 4 of them. So I didn't have the time to eat the stun. Would have given them the gen and then allowed them to go split up.
Better lose the momentum at the very beginning than when gates are about to be open.
Imo ignoring the obsession is a mistake. If by any chance you guys are by the end of the match and finally go hook the DS user he/she could use DS, run, perform rescues, etc.
Yes yes you can slug but i want my hook points, i care more about bps and chasing rather than the number of kills.
I prefer to win though, that being getting 3-4 kills.

The killer is at their weakest at the start of the game when tjere are 4 survivors on gens and no pressure on them. That's why I find it best to start trying to gain momentum early.

Decisive strike is the difference between getting your first hook with 5 gens remaining and getting your first hook with 3 gens remaining.

I'm not saying it in the case of the "oh god i run into 4 man swf every game with ds" like half the killer mains on here, I'm saying it as it just simply isn't a balanced perk. Getting off of the killer's shoulder for free is something that really shouldn't happen. I'd be fine with it if it at least came with some sort of downside.

And the thing is, if the survivor is playing optimally, they SHOULDN'T use their DS at the beginning of the game like you said. Instead they should wait for a good time to use it. If you were forced to use it on your first time, that's one step closer to it being balanced.

To put it into perspective, it would be like killer having the ability to choose one survivor to instantly go into stage 2 on the hook with no counterplay. No Hex, nothing. Now that would be infuriating to go against as a survivor lol

The best DS nerf i can think of is to have the broken status for 1, 2, 3 minutes or whatever. Why a small nerf? Because that's a dlc which people had to pay for.
But again, i think there are other survivor perks way stronger than DS. Killers just dont complain that much about them and think DS is op because as  killer you can feel DS hitting you.

Besides killer perks got nerfed that cost money e.g. STBFL.
    @The_Crusader
And i won't deny it was kinda wrong.
I think its ok for the devs to review perks people paid for and amend them. The balance of the game is more important.

I mean ######### everyone paid for the game itself and its seen numerous changes.

I just feel a free escape is too much and it feels really awful as killer to lose a kill due to this, especially when its non-obsession and there's no warning.

People can argue self-care is more powerful (in the age of healing nerfs and everyone taking sloppy butcher i disagree) but at least it keeps the survivors occupied for a while.

Another big issue with DS is the toxicity it brings. You don't ever see one of these toxic shits ever playing without DS. Taking away their orecious crutch might get them to think twice about tbagging. Besides they will probably disconnect more without DS which means they will get banned faster.

Yeah and considering how easily a game can be won or lost in DBD....all it takes is one chase that goes on a little too long, or chasing a survivor then losing sight of them and gaining no momentum from it, those things can cost a killer the game. Hence why DS is so powerful because it's basically that. If one hits you in the wrong place at the wrong time it can ######### you.

Not to mention how you have to piss about juggling which wastes a fair bit of time anyway.

It's only one kill, seriously - not an issue.

    Settle down survivor main.

I normally allow the hatch but this was an extremely toxic SWF. Went easy on them too and let one of them go when they were about to be 3 hooked and they threw it back in my face.

This is me being bored because the best I could do was sit there and wait for this sack of spuds to bleed out. Boring.. I can't think of many other games where the best option is to sit there and wait.

    Survivor main, OMEGALUL.

Telling me to settle down after making a post crying about his 4TH kill.

As if that would mean anything at all in this situation, it's still crying about everything you don't have power over.

I spent the day running around with padded jaws on my trapper and the speed limiter on my hillbilly because I don't need to cry and whine about everything, I don't need to 4k every match to be satisfied and I certainly don't need to cry about a survivor using a perk like DS as an excuse to let them bleed out.

    Ya'll are entitled af.

Good lord I'm so glad I'm actually half decent at this game.

Here's the thing though, why should the survivor be allowed to get off for free? They [BAD WORD] up and got downed. They deserved to die. Why should @The_Crusader have to lose his kill to a perk?
Yeah this is the point. If they had managed to crawl to the hatch and enter it after the other died I wouldn't have been bothered.

It's the fact that there is a perk with no counter. Seems like everything killers have has a counter. Survivors on the other hand....no. You just have to put up with all their OP #########.

This is the fatal flaw in the game. Easy fix - If fall back more than one category (red, purple, green, etc) of rank, you suffer penalties to speed, or perhaps you only get one rank slot. Keeps highly skilled players from farming new players. Otherwise, it becomes a choke point that discourages new players, and the player pool begins to grow stale. Then the game dies.

    Just sayin....

To be fair there are a number of people deranking on both sides. Or green rank swf will have a red rank designated looper playig with them. So maybe it evens out.
  • The perk is garbage. Every time I've tried it nobody has ever gone in a locker. Seems it's really rare for them to do that.

Might be a little better on Doctor? Just because he gives them a reason to go in a locker.

I still had a crappy endgame. Plus like I said they were hella toxic so no hatch for them.

This post is just salt. You want fries with that?

Hatch and end game are gonna be changed. When? Don't know. To what? Don't know. But it's on the to-do list. Stop complaining about it.

Just eat the DS to take the chance or sit there and wait for them to die, and move on.

Yes please, I'll have fries if you're offering.

It's not the jatch that bugs me. It's that perk. If they get the hatch by any other means then good for them but a stupid btoken crutch perk shouldn't guarentee them it.
  • I got called a sweaty tryhard by a toxic swf who brought in instaheals and BNP.

Apparantly these people have never looked in a mirror.

It was a risk I wasn't willing to take since I didn't know where the hatch was and I didn't have Enduring. Could have been at the other side of the map, or could have been right around the corner, who knows.

Then you look around to see if the hatch is close. Then pick her up and stand in the corner making sure you can see what direction she goes. Chase her down and hit her. Or she gets out. So what, I bet you double pipped. To bad you censored the number of gens, because I bet it says 3 and I've been over this, you can just give her hatch and still double pip.

Put a box to cover the names but was sloppy and did it too big not thinking.

It was 1 gen actually because as I said I 2 hooked everyone playing nice and let them go even when I could have had a kill but they threw it back in my face by being toxic. Hence why I denied them the hatch.

I bet you still pipped. You can't kill 3 with 1 gen left and NOT pip, especially if you 2 hook everyone that should be at least 2 golds and 2 silvers which is a pip.

    And?

I still had a crappy endgame. Plus like I said they were hella toxic so no hatch for them.

I guess if the basement doesn’t spawn in the school perhaps a hook could spawn over the basement entrance but that means one of the hooks outside near the school can’t spawn or both. ( balance reasons)
Also please don’t dc you’ll ( eventually) be banned and you’ll ruin the experience for other players.

Dude I got it 4 times in a row and in every game the survivors ran down there to avoid hooks. I was losing my sanity.

I felt ya, I got Haddonfield 5 times in a row. It was depressing.

    Did they choose it?

I got 2 offerings at first and then 2 of it naturally choosing Springwood.

Each time the basement spawned in the shack. It was infuriating. Especially when one got the hatch because of it.

Great map design. Cant hook survivors down there...but hatch spawns there 90% of the time. I'm guessing it's designed to be like that.
  • But if you remove that then Legion becomes weak.

And the hooks need to spawn. Screw balance. There's nothing balanced about it right now and yet here we are...

Plus if they go down there then a non-obsession DS is 100% guarenteed.
  • If you think Springwood is bad, then you have to see The Game. Sometimes there are only two hooks downstairs/upstairs, and survivors run to the area that doesn't have hooks.
The devs really need to improve their placement skills.

Yup the hook change REALLY ruined that map. It went from being fun as killer to being stressful.
  • Sometimes a camp is strategic. I can accept that. If two survivors end up in the basement then the killer isn't going to go far. It sucks but it makes sense. The issue is those killers who just circle their first hook. Unless you've hooked them next to your Ruin totem then there's no need to go straight to camping.

    Wow, settle down man.

I've said many times I hook rather than slug for the 4k. I made a post the other day talking about how I hook and let the last guy get the hatch and then survivors get toxic - so no buddy I'm not one of those who wants the 4k every time at all.

I just don't like how it came down to us standing there staring at each other and that was the best way to play it. It was a hatch standoff and we weren't even stood at the hatch.

It's just reason #5381 why Decisive Strike needs to go.

I also agree D-Strike needs to go but I certainly wouldn't make someone bleed out over it, you say hatch had spawned but that doesn't mean you wouldn't have reached this person before they got to it.

It was a risk I wasn't willing to take since I didn't know where the hatch was and I didn't have Enduring. Could have been at the other side of the map, or could have been right around the corner, who knows.

I figured I'd get points for them bleeding out anyway. So it was on them if they chose to bleed out or crawl for hatch.

Normally they crawl but this one was stubborn.

Oh god, more crying over maybe not getting the 4th kill.

    A stalemate;
"a situation in which further action or progress by opposing or competing parties seems impossible."

You could have easily picked them up, lets not pretend this is a stalemate, this is you trying to protect your pride by not losing your precious 4th kill and probably coming on here to cry about it if you had.

This post is literally "end game should be easier for my spirit build because having one survivor at the end with dstrike is so detrimental to my game".

Good lord I'm so glad I'm actually half decent at this game.

    Wow, settle down man.

Pick up and have her backed into the corner so it's a strike bb

You mean have her strike and she will auto be bodyblocked?

Didn't know you could do that. Sounds great for this situation.....even if it is more bad game design :p wouldn't really help all the other times I end up in this situation though, but yeah thanks I'll definitely try that if I end up in a situation against a wall again. Usually this happens out in the open.
