  • I've never seen so many disconnects.

If people were salty they got sandbagged or left on the hook thats one thing, but pepople are rage quitting as soon as they go down.

Then the message from the devs is "if you quit too you'll be punished, so you better stay in and learn to enjoy 2 vs 1 games".

Might as well ban me now then. I'm not staying in games where 2 of my teammates have disconnected with no gens done.

I feel like people are exaggerating the situation for killers rn. Yes the event is technically survivor sided but I'd say on average a competent killer earns a lot more than a typical solo survivor. If you're talking about survivors earning more by queueing up in 4 man deathsquads then that's a different story. Solos or even two man swfs have to suffer from terrible teammates and the current event objective.

Do the math yourself, there is no way a killer can earn more than a survivor. Even if he manages to 4k, he still is far away from the max points usually

My average solo survivor game nets me 20 or less points. Only 3 matches so far did I get full 45 points and one of them was because one of my teammates escaped with a lantern before they fixed that unintended feature. On average I get 20-35 points as killer.

I get that the math says survivors should earn more, that's why I said technically they do earn more, but in a 2 hour session for example I would earn much more  playing back to back games as killer than solo survivor. Couple that with the fact that killer lobbies are near instant, the gains would most likely be much bigger as killer.
Exactly, people aren't taking this into account.

You can get 2 gens done as survivor then get 1 hooked until death because bobody rescues you. That's 8 points.

Thats only 4 hooks as killer.
  • Sounds like you made the mistake of trying to live and the killers took offence to that.

Next time try standing still and taking the hit so that they don't get salty.

so many snowflakes on this forum damn, really sad to see. after all this is still a survival game and the event was meant to be survivor vs survivor aswell. watch the dev stream. this community is just spoonfeeded from the start of the game with all the double bloodpoints bs. play hello kitty if you cant compete in a PVP game jesus christ.

Survivors not playing as a team and wanting to 1vs1 the killer is what makes them ask for crazy buffs like multiple exhaustion perks again or decisive strike.

Now imagine what happens when survivors of that strength play together as a cooperative SWF...

In games where it is 1 vs 4, the 4 are expected to need to work together in order to escape. That's why they are weak individually but strong together.
  • How do you know that you are playing with people from other country's? I thought that all games put you in certain servers with the same region?

Check their profiles post game. Also you can check other survivors profiles and see they're from around the world too. Truetalent (british) often faces koreans.

I've played against Cote before and he's Canandian (I'm EU), but his connection was fine strangely despite the difference.
  • @Axelson
Your experience sounds exactly the same as mine.

Can we all agree as a community that going forward the best way to handle events is to encourage survivors to play co-operatively rather than conpetitively?

All this event is doing is making the game unfun for solo players and SWF aren't having the same problem because they have no reason to play against each other.

In fact on a hunch I'd bet the swf genrush is pretty bad right now. Which just makes the game less fun for killers.

Just brainstorming here but I think there needs to be a bonus based on how many survivors make it out alive to encourage people to rescue and help each other.

Ruin in an event like this is like saying:

"I'm going to benefit from the enjoyment and fun of this event but I'm not going to let anyone else have that same enjoyment or benefit even though it costs me nothing to allow others to have fun"

You know, the typical mentality / faulty personality type of the usual, boringly predictable neurologically defective sociopath that the killer attracts.

And you know what? they don't see that there is a deeply fundamental flaw with that way of thinking and they never will because they simply don't have the mental facility to be able to see other peoples perspectives, it's all really quite sad.

    Lol what?

Ruin is annoying in every game but it's understandable why they bring it. The devs just put out a bounty on gens, 4 points for every generator done, 25 points if you make it out with a lantern.

Gen rush is real right now. Your post could apply to all the survivors bringing toolboxes to rush gens against killer.

My only issue is that in the majority of games gens arent touched because claudettes are hiding at the edge of the map. 8/10 games are like that. The other 2/10 though are hard gen rush.
  • It's easier to learn how to loop than it is how to counter loops.

As survivor all yoi have to do is run in a circle and check behind you at times. As killer you have to get good at walking backwards, get a feel for when a survivor has lost sight of your red glow etc
  • It would be near impossible for some people to match up if it was region based

Is the playerbase that small? I thought this was one of the most popukar games on Twitch?

I didn't have this issue in other online games.
  • Deliverance is an absolutely vital perk right now.
  • Whats frustrating is when you finally get a lobby with good ping the killer dodges.

It seems the only people that dont lobby dodge are those with red ping. Whats up with that?
  • Though the points are very survivor sided on paper, the entire design has caused survivor point average to be horrible. Played 3 survivor matches tonight, and 15 yesterday. The point average was 12 or less. Survivors are hiding, sandbagging, and otherwise screwing over each other in order to escape via hatch with lantern. Killers are running Mori while hard camping. It is nuts!

I average 20 or more points with killer easily. Just chasing and hooking. I have yet to get above 30 in a match, but that is ok. Better than getting 4-8 with the occassional 12.

I've never been sandbagged as much as I have this event. Its garbage.

I dont know why devs keep pushing this "you can play together or against each other mentality", because that just screws solo survivors. SWF dont play against each other and thats why they're so strong.

So now I feel i can only play swf, but then killers moan and lobby dodge.

Nobody is happy with this idea. They need to just drop it and encourage survivors to work together.

Edit: Oh cool, just had a game where a Claudette right from the start was hiding behind a rock. I'm using emotes to try and get her to help me on a gen but she wont do it even thoigh the killer is nowhere nearby by.

So people really are hatchcamping from the start.

Another disconnect from me. Screw it im done. Good job devs not just content with ruining killer with the new hook system you've now ruined solo survivor with this event. Guess i cant play it anymore. Its not worth it. This is garbage.
  • Im fed up of being left to die.

Did 3 gens in the last game, get hooked and left to die. Nobody made any intention of coming for me.

Managed to kobe at the last second. So when the other survivors get hooked I dont bother going to rescue them. One uses deliverance to get off the hook, then the killer and that survivor work together to hunt me down as punishment for not saving them when I only did it because nobody saved me...like they havent all event because nobody unhooks anymore.

So thats another disconnect from me. Not letting that scumbag have his hook points. Lost an entire rank due to disconnects.

Not allowed to say the game is bad though...oh no that gets you silenced on the forum.
  • Speak of the devil I just got it now.

15 mins of backing out of lobbies due to insane ping, or being lobby dodged because the killer assuned I was swf, finally I get in a suitable game and even 4 red tickets were used! And then....infinite loading screen.

We need to start recording this because I think the developers just can not understand why their players are so frustrated and salty.

    Pretty much.

Also nerf the top 2 killers and balance the awful maps to buff the bottom 8 killers.
  • A facecamping Huntress you say? Funny thats been 90% of my games since the event started.

    Try playing solo survivor.

Gens just do NOT get done. Almost every game I'm doing 2 solo before someone else gets one done.

Its literally pointless playing. What the hell are the other survivors doing? Are they so not used to playing against Ruin?

Maybe its new Ruin hiding spots? Ive never seen it stay up so long.

Then again when I play killer its in the same ######### open spots as always.

I hate this event. Its really not fun for a solo player. I do so much of the work and get nothing for it.

50k roughly to get a single red ticket and they've all been wasted because either the gens don't get done or I get hooked at the end and the rest run out and leave me to die. What a stupid, stupid event. Hallowed Blight was so much more fun.
They are grabbing lanterns and then hiding hoping you do enough gens for the hatch and then they play the wait till you’re all dead game.

But it sits on 5 gens for ages. 5 gens!!!

I've never seen a single gen not done for so lon. How can I get almost 2 before the other 3 survivors can even get 1?

And then when I play killer its a different story. They burn through gens like Ruin wasn't even there.

As always the devs shaft solo players because they're all playing against each other for the hatch, whereas swf work together to gen rush and escape. What awful game design. Bring back hallowed blight

Thats not to mention the fact that you have to queue for 2-3 minutes just to be met with red ping or a lobby dodge.

I feel like I can't play survivor for the next 2 weeks and I don't want to play killer after the devs ruined it with their abysmal new hook system.

Might wanna start with noed. Virtually all bad killers came out of their caves to use it during this event combined with ruin and ebony mori. Luckily for me I've just unlocked the Feng skin so I can return to playing killer now. People will enjoy having a game without a tunneling, camping, mori, noed baby.

I don't notice a difference, 95%+ of killers in the top 10 ranks ran NOED before the event anyway.

  • Lock out toolboxes and moris too.

Survivors want toolboxes because gens aren't being done, but then killers see 4 toolboxes and want a mori to combat gen rush. It's daft.

I would have argued that all survivors need to be at tr same level, and choosing P3 Claudette with her predator like stealth gives some survivors a huge advantage.

Lets be honest that's the only reason to use these kind of programs, for the Claudettes.

That's why I use it, and you know what? I think it's better for other survivors. It's unfair when someone wants to play Ace in his bright gold robe, or Feng in her new red dress, and they die for it while the P3 Claudette nearby just crouches in a corner and avoids being seen. Its unfair when claudettes unhook and then hide, so when you come over you only see the unhooked victim while claudette leaves them to take the hook again.

If it comes down to a hatchcamp and theres a stealthy claudette and say a kate or a david I'll purposefully go after the Claudette so the other can get the hatch because I'm so fed up with these tryhards always getting the hatch.

Reshade and Freestyle don't give the killer an advantage imo they just level the playing field for every survivor who introduces variety into the game by not playing Claudette.

Yet on console we're finding P3 Claudettes fine.

It wasn't so bad before the engine update but now a number of people find some areas of the game too dark.

If it's fine for you then good for you though man. For the rest there are other options, but not just that Freestyle makes the game look so much nicer too. There are some pictures somewhere and the filters make the lighting look beautiful.

  • I assume they mean Claudettes.

You see what happens is 3 gens get done, and 1 person dies. A 4th gen will probably have a good amount of progress on it too. This situation is still winnable. So 2 of the survivors go to work on those gens hoping to open the doors and get the team out...

....However Claudette doesn't play like that. She decides that now that the hatch is guarenteed to spawn she can activate her natural camouflage and go hide in the basement or in a bush or a dark corner.

And so she does, and the other two survivors die whilst bravely trying to do the gens, and then they spectate and see Claudette stick her cowardly little head out from whatever rock shes been hiding behind and run straight across to the hatch because they all know exactly where it is.

Some claudettes even give up as soon as the first gen is done.

These survivors often do very little for the team and manage to escape just due to the fact that they hid at the edge of the map for most of the game.

  • Yeah I don't get why everyone cries about Legion when Nurse exists.

Neither has any real counter-play. Sure you can argue about how you can try to break line of sight with the Nurse but still you're relying on the killer to make a mistake, and if they'r good at tracking and have brought tracking perks then it makes little difference.

Legion might be able to get you no matter what you do but he's slow as hell. It takes him forever to cross the map, he can't slug effectively and the team can get gens done while he's slowly downing someone. Yes he has powerful purple add ons but they are rare add ons.

Nurse on the other hand crosses the map in seconds and can down a survivor in like 5 seconds, she's also hands down the best slugger in the game.

When you go against a Nurse you're just relying on the killer to make mistakes. if they don't then you're screwed. I'll take Legion over Nurse anyday.

The worst part about Nurse is that if she's good your team will be slugged within minutes, if it's a bad nurse then when they finally get someone down they'll just camp them all game. Such an awful character. People cry Legion is broken yadda yadda yadda and yet Nurse still tops tier lists....wonder what that says about her.

  • The sad part is the DBD forums are much more strict on the rules and bans than the game itself. The forums even censor offensive words and phrases too yet the game doesn't?

Credit where credit is due, they definitely listened to Survivors' complaints about Hallowed Blight.

All they complained about was Survivors' side objective not progressing the match, now all they have to do is rush gens and run out the gate as usual.

Yea they only have to do all that while avoiding someone that can kill them?

lmao - the way killers on this forum talk about how easy it is for survivors really makes me believe most killers sit in corners until the match is over.

It certainly feels that way with how fast I've been flying through the gens this entire event. It has not been uncommon for us to have at least three gens done before the first hook.

That's a problem with the killer, not the survivors. If you can't end a chase in ~15 seconds, then you're either a bad killer, or you need to give up the chase because the survivor is better than you.

Lulwut? 15 seconds? So what, you only every chase someone in an open field as Hillbilly?

I don't play hillbilly. I play mostly Wraith, you just need to get better at mindgames.

So only play against blind Survivors, gotcha.
The dude ends chases in under 15 seconds with Wraith, I think you need to show him more respect. Clearly we have a legend amongst us.

I mean some maps have multiple ultra safe pallets all together which made me think it wasn't possible but apparantly this guy plays Wraith like he was Nurse.

Do most of the gen work, get chased and hooked as the last gen pops, get left to die as the rest run out.

    Or

Loop the killer for 3-4 gens, get hooked as the last gen pops, get left to die as the rest escape.

Also I've never been bodyblocked so much by fellow survivors. Everyone is playing so selfish which is the wrong direction to take the game. This just leads to survivors  wanting a solo playstyle which then has them asking for huge buffs.

They should be encouraging teamwork and co-operation. Weak seperate but strong together.

This just means that once again the game is better played in SWF, but then killers complain and lobby didge so....
Oh! Welcome back! Yeah. This event is now a "all that matters is me" for solo survivors, and to be honest. Its justified a bit when i see a grpup of survivors screw said one over, qnd i happen to know they are a SWF group. Poor dude basically got sandbagged. All over a vessel.
    Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've been reduced to running Decisive Strike. I feel so dirty and toxic, but right now it's a better asset to me than any other survivor.

I had a Claudette the other day. Grabs the lantern at the start, camps in the basement most of the game then gets the hatch when everyone else is dead. I really hope that person spends the rest of their entire DBD life against facecamping Wraiths.

You can't do it as well in other games because in most people can fight back. In DBD though as long as they're on the other side of a pallet they can't be touched. Some maps have more than enough pallets for them to keep it up all game too.

No they're awful. It takes no skill to blind with these.

If a survivor runs in front of you while you're carrying then yeah you can see them coming but otherwise its quite easy to catch the killer off guard with these when compared to a flashlight. I've been blinded more times this event than I have all year with flashlights. Likewise I've blinded more killers this event than I have all year.

They're awful and they need to go.
"It takes no skill to blind with these."

The survivor will need to do the unexpected to get a blind off of you, it's not just a press of a button. Additionally, you can avoid the blind just by simply looking up, there's counter play for both sides. Your statement is such an exaggeration on your part because that's not how things actually play out.
Flashlight is much harder to time. Flashlight is far easier in comparison.

Playing both, I've probably spent enough to regret it all if they destroyed the killer experience.

Survivors have four times the group mentality and capability of review bombing though

They also seem to be buying far more cosmetics.

Ir would probably be a bit strong then.

Every strong perk needs a downside it seems...except Decisive strike. That one gets a free pass.

For bloodwarden I'd just be happy with a timer an for perks to be hidden until after the game since swf makes it worthless.
Why can't killers have strong perks :(
Because killers don't pay the bills.
