I still think the twins are weak overall. At best they're a pub stomper against ppl who have absolutely no clue what they're doing against the twins. Yes there are strategies the twins can try to use and you're very smart for somehow being the only one to theorycraft these amazing plays. It's just like how I've managed to realize that trapper is truly the most op killer in dbd if he just put traps everywhere. /S
Even the camping potential is overstated. Here's something I really don't understand... If a killer wanted to camp and tunnel but takes extra steps and is weaker at camping/tunneling than other killers then you're really just complaining about camping/tunneling You have a better chance at saving a survivor against a Charlotte or Victor standing afk watching from 10 feet away than just having a killer face camping. It's the PH cage all over again. Oh he's such a strong camping/tunneling killer. He cages survivors and runs across the map straight to them. If PH just face camped it would be way harder to deal with.
-
Ironically there are some survivor that agree with you... They argued that because when dbd first came out looping wasn't really a thing it isn't really a core mechanic. Therefore, they shouldn't have to learn how to loop and the devs need to make it easier to stealth, stop removing pallets and stop removing windows. So... Maybe you'd enjoy that more.

I really don't think throwing more money at bhvr will solve the problem nor do I believe that the consumer needs to pay more to make sure the producer gets their stuff together. You're telling me that in 2 months they couldn't make a single new killer and perks work? I refuse to pay corporate bhvr to give the bhvr devs more time to make a working product.

Are we body shaming pixelated characters in a video game now?
How far we have climbed.
It's not body shaming. It's defending women's rights. That body creates unrealistic expectations of the female form.

Glad you like the killer and you're enthusiastic about it. Other ppl see it but it's just not as good as you're making it out to be.

Lol just imagine if Freddie could place pools on doors. I think you mean in doorways but u never know with dbd.

I really don't understand the hate for fanf. I may not like it myself but everyone acts like a fnaf chapter would be the end of the world. From what I understand a couple months ago there was some kind of forum bm about Springtrap being added but is that really a reason to hate the franchise? I would understand hate for it back in like 2016 or 2017 when the community was a toxic cesspool (hey kinda like another game I know) but it has matured a lot since then.
It's not they hate FNAF. Ppl don't care about it. They just don't think it fits. What they hate was the people constantly asking for it. The optics of the FNAF community itself isn't pretty already. Having them constantly ask for fnaf is not enduring to the FNAF community as a whole.

ok I’ve been to like 5 different schools in 2 years and all of them barely know what stranger things is but they did know the demo and them and everyone know what fnaf was
I'm pretty sure "5 different schools" demographic is the general demographic that the dbd community doesn't want.

I think the best compromise is that we have some form of clockwork machine killer. Then give it a bear skin.

Do you know his full lore?
Also, screw the FNAF lore. Most of the lore was just theory-crafted by the community and the dev just nodded along with some of it. Nobody knows the lore of FNAF. I doubt even the dev knows at this point.

You mean, players doing game objectives to win games is unbalanced?
Snark aside, there's plenty of perks to slow down gens. Plus, if you get rid of a survivor, it slows down progress as a whole.
"You mean, players doing game objectives to win games is unbalanced" u can technically dilute all balancing issues in pretty much every game to this.

I assume they mean it's an issue for nurse only (personal), therefore it doesn't count as game breaking in their eyes. I'm not sure if that's entirely how those terms work.

Your post was answered promptly by a community member and a MOD. If someone is doing something ban-able start recording. Who counts on a game to store what would be thousands of terabytes per hour jic you need to report something? Evidence is ALWAYS on the accuser to have. How hard is it to record 10 mins of gameplay?
You failed. Not the game.
Then disrespected the people who tried nicely to help.
Find another game. Good riddance 👏👏
Surprisingly easy considering that games like csgo, CoD in the past, League of Legends and a bunch of other games that are far older than dbd have auto record features.

Actually I don't think it will improve much. This looks like the worst killer to date. Even Legion looks stronger than the twins. They're perks aren't even that good either. I don't picture many people buying them to use them or to unlock their perks for the real killers.
Ppl might just play it to see for themselves. Everytime a new killer releases queue times for survivor speeds up for a week or 2.
-
They could just add killer bots whenever queue times are too long. I dunno if ppl would like that or not.
-
I don't think it's necessarily ban-able but if they frame it as teaming and whatever they send in looks like teaming than you could get in trouble.
-
I thought they nerfed him so that he can't see where the cage pops up. How'd he race the survivors there when he doesn't know where it is?

My fault for having genuine mental health issues and playing a game to relax and not theirs for just being an insensitive ######### bolstered by the animosity.
Both of the above, btw, are reportable by the game's EULA.
Also, if I hear a word about old COD lobbies I'm about to lose my #########.
Edit: fixed the typos.
Yes it's terrible and not your fault. At the same time, you should probably turn off messaging from strangers and ignore end game chat.
Furthermore, the topic you're talking about and the topic the other person was talking about doesn't quite match up. You're taking an extreme that's pretty disingenuous. It's understandable that you feel so strongly about it but you should take a step back and maybe cool down a little.

It's prove their match making is screwed and they'd need to keep getting put against noobs like them instead of with good teams and good killers
Does anyone need any of this to prove it? Most dbd players already believe it. The devs already have the data so they already see it.

I was surprised by how fast BL1 actually triggers after the event was over. Chases trigger from so far away sometimes that by the time you even get within lunge distance of them you might already be BL1, and that's assuming they just held W. The only killers it didn't really happen to me with is Spirit and Blight for obvious reasons.
Well if you think about it, it makes sense. Let's say a survivor is only 8m away from the killer. The survivor just holds w. The killer just holds w. Assuming that the killer is moving at 4.6m/s and the survivor is moving 4 m/s the killer will be caught up to the survivor in 13.333 seconds. Bloodlust triggers at 15 seconds. So if the survivor makes it to a loop and prolongs the chase just that little bit bloodlust 1 will trigger.

We need a E2D ration. Escape to death, something like that for killers too. We need something we can physically show in forum etc when we say we never escape or we never get a kill. Killers could have a card that shows how many 4 man's they got average. Are they averaging killing half the folks or 3 folks but not the 4th or do they average killing all 4 but get mad at the very few teams who run them to death? Same for survivors, do they always hit a hatch, do they normally work gens to get the door? Something tangible we can phsycially see and use in our discussions.
What would be the point of that? Assuming that ppl don't just skew the stats to prove an agenda. Let's say there's some1 who on average never escapes and they say look this proves that killer is op. Killer mains -> only proves that you suck and you shouldn't have a say in how the game is balanced. Or the killer main could have a terrible kill average with spirit and survivor mains will just say you're just a bad spirit.

Killer could have chased us but he instead decided to patrol the 3 gen. HE was the one holding hostages.
I think the devs have already said that in this situation the killer is in the right. The logic is that if the killer is patrolling gens they are still doing their objective.
-
The community. The best and worst parts of dbd depending on how you happen to be feeling at the time.
-
They're not viable playstyles. At least they're about as viable as survivors let them be.
-
Personally, I think keeping just bloodlust tier 1 makes sense to me. They either do that or start reworking a bunch of perks on both sides and a few killers.
-
1. I was worried about killers not chasing at all. So far they haven't changed too much and any changes that have happened might just be cuz I'm making it too obvious I want to be chased. Although, I've been testing out the just hold w theory... It's actually working out pretty well against some killers, even the one Freddie I went against. I've also started playing much more riskier. I don't think either side has fully adapted to the changes though.
2. Not sure. Ppl haven't fully adapted yet.
3. I'm not sure how long they want chases to be for things to be balanced so I'm not sure what to change.

I never made that point, so you may need to reread my comments. That's dishonest and a bit rude.
But it's a direct effect of what you're talking about. Scratch that. It's what you're talking about taken to it's conclusion. Take off the training wheel from the killers so newer survivors won't have to learn
-
Here's the thing that I'm worried about the removal of bloodlust. It disincentivizes actual chases with killers and I dunno if that's something I'd want. Killers will be more likely to mind game or just use killers that don't need to worry as much with chases.
You've also brought up a point that I didn't think of. It makes it easier for potatoes to rise through the ranks to red ranks who don't really need to learn how to do a chase. Once they reach higher ranks and they need to deal with mind games or strong killers they'll collapse.
-
@konchok said:

Trapper can trap the loops where bloodlust would be considered a problem. That's why he isn't listed. Billy has a 1 shot down and a can break pallets faster with his chainsaw and is very good with mindgames around pallets, he shouldn't need bloodlust. Freddie has pools of blood or fake pallets, Wraith can land easy hits with stealth and shouldn't be spending time around a strong loop, huntress is extremely strong at many tiles that would generally lead to bloodlust becoming active like shack, Demo is a weak killer, however, his shred is the strongest part of his kit and that is very strong at many tiles, and hag, if you're chasing with hag you're playing hag wrong.
I know trapper can trap loops. It doesn't change the fact that he does still sometimes need to brute force things with blood lust. Billy against decent survivors isn't always going to be able to chainsaw all his problems away and his mind games are about as good as any other killer.
As for the others, I put them separately cuz they are hit by the removal of bloodlust but the difference isn't as bad as the other killers listed but it'll still have an effect on them. My bad if I didn't make it clear enough and you kinda wasted your time.
-
Of course it doesn't effect your killer games. we're both survivor mains lol.
-
@konchok said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1764672#Comment_1764672
There are only a few killers that have to brute force loops, the rest have their power that they can use.
Plague while in vile purge, Pig, Michael Meyers, Clown unless he has the chlorine add-on, Legion (when securing a down), and Oni before he gets blood.
You'll notice this list with the exception of Oni, is basically the list of weak killers in this game. So, I will agree that this change makes killers with weak chase powers weaker, however, that's a problem with those killers and that is not enough to justify the bloodlust mechanic. Bloodlust should be removed and these killers may need changes to their kit to make them able to use their power more effectively in a chase.
I think you're missing trapper and billy.
Others that also took a bit of a hit are Freddie, Wraith, Huntress, Ghostface, demo and hag.
-
@Heartbound said:
Well boys. Gonna tell ya how we handled that in the old days. Play Trapper and trap the infinite, Wraith and sneak up on them, Hillbilly and zoom around until you catch them out of position, or Nurse and blink with a giant middle finger raised.
That is how we do it old school.
Ironically, I don't think any of those tactics would work in the past if survivors were anywhere near the skill level of today and given how the game was in the past. Actually, even today those tactics are a bit outdated other than the trapper and nurse one.
-
@BioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1762988#Comment_1762988
Well...that would actually be balanced up to that point yes, its kinda the reason for example Hag has not been nerfed yet, the amount of people who truely know how to play her well are few and far between but when its finally discovered by the masses...something will have to be done.
Nurse had to be nerfed because "too" many players knew how to play her well and that made it a problem whenever survivors faced the nurse, thats how it goes for almost all things.
If no killer ever would use mori's anymore, then nobody would care about mori's being adressed or not as it would have no impact whatsoever on the game experience.
So you're agreeing with me that something that technically effects all killers and therefore all survivors should be tested in a way that is representative of how players might actually react with new strategies and ideas because it has such widespread effects.
-
@BioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1762900#Comment_1762900
But that is exactly the point, how reliant are players upon bloodlust, how much do the expect it to proc etc.
I personally am completely unaware of bloodlust, I dont bank on it to do anything for me, it just sorta comes and goes so I would not notice it being gone personally.
But agian, that is exactly what the want to test soooo yeah....
But why would you try to test if something is balanced by saying that it's balanced as long as nobody adapts to the changes? It's like secretly adding a cheat code that instantly kills all survivors and saying it's balanced cuz the statistics haven't changed, since nobody discovered it yet.
-
@kaeru said:
I think devs should have implement this test without announcement. Many people on this forum say that they will change their playstyle, their perks, choose efficient killers, switch their side or even refuse to play killer for weekend. All of that make this test less valuable. We should play as usual to show that we need or we don't need bloodlust in game. Now when so many people going to play differently, test will show different results.
The problem with that is that it won't represent what players would do without bloodlust. Players will (and should) adapt to it and change their strategies on both sides. It's ridiculous to try and keep everything constant and say that it works fine as long as players don't change how they play in reaction to our changes.
-
If they didn't announce it than they'd be spammed with blood lust isn't working reports. It also wouldn't be an accurate representation of how players would adapt to it or play without it on.

I think it is a funny thing about the DBD community. Before they announced that they were testing how it would be if they disabled bloodlust, many were saying just remove it already, it's an old mechanic. Now when they have announced everyone is worried lol.
The community isn't a hive mind. I'm not one of the ppl who said just remove it already.
-
Just remove the overheat mechanic and a bunch of people would play him just for fun. The overheat mechanic does nothing. Any Billy spamming his power isn't hitting any decent survivors. Good Billy's wouldn't be spamming his power enough to make a difference.
-
If you look at the size of maps vs the terror radius of most killers, it's not surprising that on spawn you end up in a terror radius within seconds. 32m for most killers, 24m for a few and 8m for the shape. That's actually bigger than i thought.

That's incorrect. The devs made a post about how it worked some time back when it was changed, maybe a year ago? It used to be based off the average of the survivors in the group, which frequently led to the situations you are describing. Now they have stated it is based off the highest ranking survivor in the lobby, and that has been accurate in my experience.
You also have to realize that the ranks are reset every month, so you can still have players who were rank 1 falling down to green ranks if they have not played in a while. My survivor rank was 9 for a while even though I have hit rank 1 survivor countless times, just because I mostly play the killer these days.
Ranking up as a survivor is also significantly easier than killer, which is why I assume red rank killer kill rates are so high. Because it takes some work as a killer player get to red rank and stay there, but even average survivors should be able to get to red ranks easily if they play enough.
But on the subject of facecamping, it's only worth doing once all 5 gens are done, to secure your last kill. And even then I get greedy myself and probably just start slugging to try to get more. Or maybe to spite someone you really hate, but you are usually throwing the match to do it. If you haven't applied enough pressure throughout the game and the survivors still have DS's, you might not even get a 1k doing it unless you are a 1 shot killer.
I thought they removed it cuz it messed with match making too much. Queue times for low ranking killers skyrocketed. Queue times for survivors in general also skyrocketed.

The only other option is the inborn psychopathic serial killer route, which a lot of people find offensive for some reason. Plus it's never been used with an original character in DbD except for Ghostface.
Though I'm not entirely certain I would consider the Plague's lore to be sympathetic or tragic. She was a power hungry novitiate that uses faith, snazzy jewels and lies to rule an entire region whilst convincing herself, despite all evidence, that she was some kind of chosen one. No pity there, and none for the Pig either.
I assume that ppl find it offensive cuz a surprising amount of ppl have psychopathic tendencies.
-
I think switch times plus the slow down when switching are too detrimental to be better than bubba at face camping. They would at most be equivalent to any other killer facecamping. Maybe a little worse since Viktor isn't too hard to Juke or you might result just kick him.
