8 stacks of STBFL, lower speed boost duration SURVIVOR RUN INTO A WALL! and still managed to EASILY get into safety. These are placebo changes not the real buffs.
Im guessing you have under 500 hours played?

I never complain about tunneling i love it its the camping thats boring for me.

You know looping is really the best part about survivor gameplay right?
yea thats why i uninstalled cause its getting nerfed to the ground.
-
Used to use like 5 months ago for like a month but the perk isn't that good if the killer is decent, and without it you could still have fun and not hold m1 until this next update.
-
@INoLuv said:
the salty survivor mains are hilarious, the game is still easy for survivors as always, depends of the survivor more than the killer
Yea the game will be easier to get out but they take all the fun away before getting out. Its not about kill rates its about having fun and looping holding m1 is boring.

I prefer survivors to have 2sec startup animation before making progress. Either Gen, Gate,Chest,Heal,Totem...
2.5% is a soft slowdown, but doesnt prevent Gen touch mid chase.
dragons grip does though.

It's really not.
yea it really is its 20 for an escape plus the time of being in a match

@Avocium said:
balancing the game around 2 survivors escaping is just going to piss off killer and survivor and make the game unfun. Adding game mechanics that force killers to play a certain way is bad, insecure, lazy game design - if all you are concerned about is the survivor experience then hire a team to create a decent killer AI that plays exactly how you want them to.
When did this game become hide and seek instead of a horror game?
If people are so upset that they're being camped or tunneled as a survivor then the real problem is that person is more concerned about continuing to play hide and seek than they are about actually "beating" the killer and getting the win for their team. This is very obviously the real problem here - even though survivors have the advantage in 4 swf (even without perks) they are only happy if they get to ######### on the killer instead of managing to get their team out alive.
Maybe solve that problem before buffing body blocking and adding more survivor perks that let them get right in the killers face and ######### on them
Dont worry they made that last streamer tourney so complicated and bad most main stream streamers will never touch this game again.

They managed to open gates and then just wait there. I would understand Teabagging -> just toxic players, normal.
Or they wanted to give hit for extra BP, but they instead wait there till I get close on then leave in my face.
They are not toxic in endgame chat, or during the game.
It's understandable if someone is not safe and they want to waste my time to help them, but when everyone is fine, it just doesn't make sense to me.
They are raising their mmr part of the mmr system is time spent in game

Then tell me all magical one. How do I stop them from constantly hiding near pallets with flashlights? What skill should I master for that? I’ve done mindgames and blocked loops with certain killers. Yet it seems to me that the only effective way is to use a single perk or to stare at the sky like a turkey.
if they are using flashlights then they aren't doing gens which is in your favor.

If you heal yourself it goes away, If ANOTHER teammate heals you to Healthy State it doesn't go away, you still have that endurance because it's 80 seconds.
Its the same as ds if someone heals you it goes away. Even though its bhvr they arent that stupid.

80 Seconds after every hook is enough for a SWF team to get you healed, Stand and Body block for your Teammate getting chased and have the Exit gate be opened for you. That 80 sec is a free 3rd Health state in Endgame as well.
If you heal it goes away. So no it wont work like that.
-
BHVR dropped the ball big time on this next update. Not gonna lie I expected it to be bad but not this bad. Just wait till you see how many new bugs there are they cant even fix rubber banding after like 3 months.
-
otr sucks what you gonna do get off the hook and stand there lol.
-
@RisingTron said:
Wasn't the issue Dead Harding for distance?? They literally got rid of that. What else do you want them to do?
They want you to start the game on hook so they can just win without doing anything.

@tester said:
Just to clarify, I'm not saying they are perfect. Some values can be adjusted, but they already said that they will be looking at stats and doing adjustments. The game has grown stale and desperately needed shakeup. I commend BHVR on having the courage to try something new.
On the killer side, I'm happy that DH is changing.
On survivor side, I'm happy that camping and tunneling was addressed.
Yes, I get it, some perks were made essentially useless. Ruin is an example. But that perk was unhealthy for solo queue. Survivors who don't have comms can't efficiently coordinate looking for the totem. I can keep going on with example, but I don't want to make a wall of text.
Tunneling and camping got buffed tho.

Dude, if you're self-limiting by not using a major part of the game then you don't really have a leg to stand on.
Its not self limiting till now that they buffed the killers base kit. Which is just done to stop looping.

I mean no disrespect, but your opinion of that build says a lot.
It says i like looping and not running away healing up running away healing up if you were going to run that just bring a med kit instead your using 2 perks just to get the current self healing and making otr go away if you heal. If thats how you like to play get hit and hide thats cool but not my type of game i like to play.

Not really like brine + overcharge could be interesting and pain res is still good but otherwise I think it's probably weaker overall and other strategies are probably better or at least just as viable.
As for survivors I could see something like circle/botany/lucky break/overcome being really strong for survivors now. Just escape every chase and heal immediately could be really good.
Yea sadly thats a really boring way to play.

Yeah. New Off the Record eclipses BT and DS in every conceivable way. You don't create build variety by creating a new hyper-dominant meta - especially when the basekit changes don't remotely fix camping or tunneling on their own.

Ye okay, do not break the pallet to get an infinite loop... Someone that gives such an advice is usually a bad player, sry...
I guess to each there own enjoy the 45 min killer que times im out. if you see i added just break it since you get base kit brutal. either way the survivor is ######### and theres no such thing as an infinite lol thats why theres bloodlust to begin with if you get in an infinite you just suck as killer.

Yea i already know that thats why you just dont get stunned or break pallets duh lol. Oh no a pallet here let me just walk around it. Or opps i forgot i have base kit brutal strength now.

I can still get 2-3 hooks with minimal gen progression with Corrupt? Oh wait....
Ruin still regresses gens? Yeah, at 1/2 it's current speed and is now literally the only Hex perk that deactivates for progressing your objective....quite possibly when you need/want to defend a 3 gen.
To answer your question, I'll be running Self-Care/Botany/Overcome(more enticing than ever due to hit speed nerf)/Off The Record on the PTB, most likely.
Overcome is a good one botany and self care have always been useless and otr is basically ds but without getting downed and wont do much you could just bring bottled time if you needed otr. Yea I mean your only using one useful perk. But the sad thing is you have to use a perk just to have the same distance as the game has now before the update.

Well, you're entitled to your take.
Same as you... I just see where devs are trying to push this back into a scary hide and seek game I don't think they like the cat and mouse aspect they want you to fear the killer not run at him and try to get him to chase you(which is the only fun part of this game).
-
@Xendritch said:
I definitely think survivors will have strong tools still they just got rid of all the things that artificially extended chase for no reason but every other aspect of survivor got buffed.
If I'm being 100% serious and ignoring potential memes and speculation I think we're probably heading for another heal meta but we'll see.
No its 100% genrush meta to many killer perks got buffed for gen slowdown they just changed which ones will be used actually they will probably all still get used except pain res. Only thing is you wont see much looping anymore due to the killer base kit changes.

There is plenty of time to reach another gym to loop. Now, hopefully, there will not be enough time for the survivor to reach the strongest gym/building of their choice across the map.
Its already pretty hard to reach another gym depending on the map with the killers speed. Going to be 20% worse now. Looping is dead gen rushing is the new meta.
-
@Raccoon said:

Yeah. The Ruin/Corrupt/PGTW/PaineRes buffs are really going to tear up the PTB.
You are better than this, Sir/Madam!
You're just losing hope, but I guarantee it will not be as bad as you think.
I believe in you!
corrupt was never a problem to begin with it works exactly the same ruin still regresses gens until someone dies when someone dies if its still 5 gens games usually over pop is still good if the gen has progress pain res is like the only true nerf now go on to the non meta perks that they buffed to the moon and tell me which ones didn't get better and like I said only perks that are good for survivors now are the gen rush ones. What survivor perk would you run that they "buffed"?

@TAG said:

Show me the math that verifies your claim.
We’ve reduced the time it takes to break walls and pallets by 10% (now 2.34 seconds, previously 2.6). Generators can also be kicked 10% faster than before (now 1.8 seconds, was 2 seconds). While these changes may seem small, a fraction of second can be the difference between hitting a Survivor and them reaching a pallet.
Next, we’ve reduced the cooldown for successful basic attacks by 10% (now 2.7 seconds, previously 3 seconds) and reduced the duration of the Survivor’s speed boost upon being hit by 10% (now 1.8 seconds, was 2 seconds). Moving forward, Survivors will gain slightly less distance upon being hit, making it more difficult for them to run long distances to a safe area.
Finally, we’ve tweaked Bloodlust to increase in power quicker than before. In most chases, Bloodlust does not activate, though there are rare cases where it can be necessary. The long build up often leaves the Killer in a bad spot even if they eventually get a hit. We are adjusting Bloodlust tiers to activate after 15/25/35 seconds of chasing rather than 15/30/45 seconds.
It says it right there less swing plus less distance = faster downs lol. Cant loop a gym if you cant get to one. They gave killers base kit stbfl and brutal strength.

Exactly. Have posted the new META somewhere else :
- DH
- Prove Thyself
- COH
- DS
- Unbreakable
- Saboteur
Killers got nerfed to the ground while survivors have been changed but in no way nerfed. Ye, 2 weeks after the patch release, survivors will get 1h queue times.
Killers base kit and all the perks but buffed lol you know get bloodlust 2 at 25 seconds and you also have faster break times swing stun and survivors can get any distance so chasing will be easy no more looping i dont understand how you think killers got nerfed. Most survivors are quitting the game well a lot are myself included killers will have 20 30 min que times now.
-
@TAG said:
Off the Record?
Wont do anything once you get hit you get less distance and the killers swing stun is reduced you will be hit again instantly.
-
They literally buffed every killer perk they reworked all the perks for survivor are pointless reworks and nerfs except the gen rushing ones. OTR is pointless because when you get hit the killer will be right on you again. BT is pointless for the same reason.

Then congratulations! You obviously don't need this perk and freed a perk slot. Might I suggest "Hex: Edgy AF"? I think it would work wonderful with the rest of your build :)
Happy Gaming
I don't use perks there for people who suck at the game. I uninstalled so no gaming this game. Ill be playing something where you dont hold m1 for 10 minutes. Enjoy the new gen rush meta :).

@ArchAbhor said:
Thats hyperbolic. The changes arnt that bad unless you need those meta perks. Which good survivors dont really. What I'm concerned with is the camping tunneling change isnt big enough. Seems disproportionate killer buffs. The reason why I'm saying you're being hyperbolic is that they already said they are going to monitor the changes to make sure nothing gets out of hand. Which means that they are going to adjust things. Its not the end of the world just because changes were announced, and typically if theres a substantial issue to survivors BHVR are quick to fix it. So if you're worried thats fine but being all doom and gloom is not warranted
They really are that bad if you take out the killers base kit buffs its fine the perks mean nothing all perks are usless but the base mechanics are ruined now looping will die and gen rushing will be the new meta.
-

Tell that to all the people who got stalked by Myers T1 without knowing, then.
Yea they need to go to a eye doctor. I don't use spine chill and know exactly when its a stalking killer pan your mouse or joystick around and look not that hard. Probably the same people who dont look back when they are running.

@Akumakaji said:

Completely useless, as in "not a single instance exists, were anything could be gained from this perk"!11
Yea 0 if the killer has line of sight on you you can see him so how does it help?
-
@Akumakaji said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3020610#Comment_3020610
It now counters stealth killers in a meaningful way. You won't get gutted anymore as a killer for patroling, unless you moonwalk everywhere, but if you as a survivor absolutely hate stealth killers, you can still run this perk and know when Myers or Ghostface are stalking you. That perk on stealthkillers was an utter joke and this is a good way to shake up the meta.
If you need spine chill to tell you a killer is directly looking at you in line of sight it might be time to go to the eye doctor.
-
@toxik_survivor said:
Spine Chill pretty much just got optimized. It seems like it will be more smooth now, the little vaulting nerf is a shame, but it isn't a huge deal. I think more perks should be changed like this. Optimized but not completly reworked
Its literally completely reworked why would you use a perk that lets you know that the killer is looking at you if he has to have line of sight you can see him coming and looking already the perk is completely useless now.
-
Yea easily the new meta is gen rushing with bnp since looping is taking a hard hit due to the killers base kit hits and breaks and bloodlust changes.

They're better actually. It's going to be healthier for the game overall and a lot of the Killer roster needed them.
Yea better for killer worse for people who like to loop this game is now going to be a gen rush simulator watch every survivor will rujn all the gen repair speed perks with bnp's its going to kill the game.
-
@Viskod said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3016692#Comment_3016692
The only looping related perk that was changed was Dead Hard, and how you actually have to plan for its use instead of just being brain dead about it. If you're actually good at your timing, Dead Hard just got a big buff. It's only a nerf for people that used it to cover their own poor gameplay.
A lot of the changes are Endurance and survival related to counter tunneling and help survivors lose killers in a chase. Being able to recharge Distortion and Lucky Break is a big deal. Botany Knowledge being at 50% is a big deal.
I play survivor with, friends, and of course I get chased by the killer. The thing is though, you don't need the old Dead Hard to loop a killer to the point where you can escape or waste so much of their time that even when you go down, you've still won by default. If you think doing generators is boring, then why don't you bring all of the buffed survival perks and be a decoy to buy your team time.
No see i dont use perks so the base kit buffs for killer are detrimental to looping.

As I've said sprint Burst is just useless against high mobility killers which are the best killers in the game (Blight Nurse Spirit.)
I do know about 99 SB but it just won't do anything against a good Blight will hit you even if you're sprint bursting away.
That's why you always see 4 dead hards in high MMR games and no Sprint Burst,dead hard will extend chase against these killers who will get the first hit on you easily being able to extend chases even by a few seconds can be game changing,SB doesn't allow you to do that.
Stop coping Sprint Burst is overrated it will hurt the 110 killers that's all.
no you see dead hard because people are lazy.
