Idk, for me I think hes a fairly Mid-Tier Killer, which is better than being Low-Tier for sure... And his powers work well when combo'ed with pre-existing concepts.
If they want him to be more unique, they can probably buff some things about what he takes from those powers. Overall though, hes fine where he is to be frank. Hopefully though they'll touch up on a new power, and mechanics that have yet to be seen in DBD...
I disagree with with him being fine as he is just another m1 killer at the end of the day with a deviousness farming lunge but it may have to do with the maps not really being in the favor of m1 killers in general cause he seems to do alright at the few less ridiculous maps.

Like i said from the beginning, this feels similar to when Freddy came out
I said this after a few matches with him day one but i wanted to see if i was missing something, after a few weeks of just playing nothing but demogorgon, he just seems really basic with not much to add to the game or does anything better than any other killer.

@FireHazard said:
If by you mean the concepts of a Killer that lunges forth with great speed to hit a Survivor... than yeah. But actually no. Since Demogorgon doesn't sprint, it's in fact a literal lunge he does with range at the Survivor.
So he's actually not like Billy, because of this and the fact he can make rifts that're debatable better than Hags teleports to go to and from each one. They can be destroyed like Hags, but unlike Hag, they don't need to be replaced if they stay there for the entire game.
Demogorgon is a hybrid of what is already established, but a lot about him is just unique enough to be his own Killer. Even a hybrid of ideas, is still a unique concept if no other Killer has these similar ability's together. Yes, they have the ability's, and might even better than Demogorgons... but they don't have more than one of those ability's for example.
While I agree that a new power all together should be something to have in the future, by no means is Demogorgon just another Billy or Hag, he's in-fact a hybrid and a new concept on those powers together!
I think he needs more QoL improvements to make his concept of a jack of all trades killer to work cause all the other killers he borrows from do everything better than him, be it gen slow down, stealth or chase mechanics. They need to pick what he should excel at i think.
-
I really hate Demogorgon being so loud, he's not nearly as dangerous as other killers but stomps around gurgling about telling survivors pretty much where he is behind a loop wall while also messing with the killer pov hearing as well and is very dependant on if the survivors make a mistake or know where a pallet is.
His portal teleport is way to slow imo, he doesn't one shot and any survivor can cleanse them without any items and he can't move his camera around while traveling through his tunnels.
Over all i think he's a amalgamation of some of the other killers attributes but does all of them worse than they do.
I think he needs more to set him apart from the rest. I think his teleports need more, his gen pressure is really lacking and his chase is weak with his lunge being to restrictive and situational.
-
lets not forget the cars have hitboxes extending around and above them outside what you see
-
hopefully haddonfield, then red forest, iron works or farm maps after with some size reductions hopefully
-
Yeah stranger things chapter just ruined what progress PS4 had fps wise. The camera delay bug doesn't help either.
-
Everyone is trying way too hard, but i guess it's the same every bloodhunt some always wants to ruin it for everyone else.... meh.
-
Same for killer side, I though this hunt would make everyone chill out and farm but nope. Every team has keys, 3 or more purple tool boxes and a map they just want to finish the game as soon as possible. I can't blame killers for just getting sick of it, if they experience what I've dealt with consistently.
-
@Peanits said:
That's simple. Because it's asymmetrical, and most people tend to play one side or the other, not both. It's easy for it to feel like "us vs. them".
Couldn't have said it better, too much bias one way or the other. I hope a larger amount of people play both sides to a higher level.
-
People are probably just farming bp to get him to p3 or just getting all his perks before they play him without a setup.
I've been playing him though when I don't feel so burnt out by the game.
-
@Peanits said:
I would have to respectfully disagree with the Pig being weak- but making the skill checks for removing a RBT hard wouldn't be an option. If you have a new player that has a hard time with skill checks (or someone with a disability), that's basically a guaranteed death. It's one thing to miss a skill check on a generator and take a few more seconds, it's another to straight up kill them.
There's a silver lining to the ambush change; you can now down the obsession with STBFL without losing stacks by using the ambush. Since that change, she has not been nerfed.
Could there be a point in time when the pig didn't make that roar way before she even dashes? Not much of an ambush if you give them warning before she even does the dash, it's way better to just uncrouch and m1.
-
Every multiplayer game can be unfun no matter what, i'd say the game is just engaging really. You have a bad game and you try to do better in the next one, can't always have a chance of winning.
-
It is what it is, maps are the biggest issue in the game imo when talking about balance some are too big and others have too many safe loops that most of the m1 killers can't do anything about but pallet breaking simulator, but hey they are fixing them maybe by 2022 all the maps will be balanced for both sides....
-
Oh god, i just tested it, this is so dumb i'm so tired of patches fixing some things and breaking other things.
I expect like with the sounds and chase music never being retouched, the controller sensitivity will be lower than what it was and we'll have to deal with it.
-
More originals please, I do not care if movie related killers are in the game, original killers are far more interesting concepts. I just wish the original killers they have now got more love like clown, legion, trapper and wraith.

Killers are the power role.
But really. The "Power Role" is whoever is better. Survivors are only the "power" role if they are better than the killer.
Hey you can say that, I'm not gonna pointlessly argue about it.
Your opinion. Have fun playing trapper against swf with toolboxes, keys, all with ds and comms.

I actually hardly believe that would be a reason if the game is in fact dying. Awful map design with braindead loops, getting camped and tunneled as survivor, awful matchmaking, that's the kind of stuff that makes people quit playing the game.
AMEN TO THAT.
-
I've already accepted the game as a casual party game that can't be taken seriously in any competitive stand point cause rng, offerings, items and perks and swf despite being the strongest thing in the game has no downside but all killers have a down side in one shape or another so thats just how it is...
-
@PolarBear said:
She isn't op but she could use some slight tweaks that would make it possible for survivor counterplay. Currently, as a survivor, you can not know at all where she is during phasing and it's just a blind guess where she'll be so the chase is entirely within her hands.
In addition to this without iron will it is near impossible to hide your location to her when you're injured.
Most of the time if you aren't spirit or nurse the chase is in the hands of survivors and where they kite you in the abundance of safe pallet loops and godly rng window set ups.
-
They really should take time in a patch to get rid of the "god" loops that just allows 3 loops till the entity blocker and over abundance of safe pallets in most of the maps, they should have done that a long time ago instead of band aid fixes like spirit fury, bamboozle, bloodlust, entity block ect.
It really could have all been avoided if they were more proactive with map changes in the beginning.
I really don't like how perks are now just the answer to core issues in the game personally, but yeah survivors if they are good will always be the power role unless you play the top 2 killers and maybe Billy.
-
Spirit or Wraith, they are both victims of circumstances out of there control and manipulated to kill.
-
He may get a worthwhile ultra rare add-on cause all his add-ons are a bit underwhelming.
-
@White_Owl said:
Personally I'd like if she had a short range audio cue when charging her power, so the lame tactic of staying still in front a pallet and get a free hit wouldn't be possible without some actual input from the killer and the survivor could have a chance of doing something.
Aside from that, rework/nerf Prayer Beads Bracelet, it's just stupid in its current form...
her shards glow when she is phasing unless they fixed that, that is a way to tell if she is doing it.

Way to completely miss my point.
You're saying the down side of her power is not a down side if a player is paying attention. I assumed you were saying she needs more down sides and I was taking the piss out of it.
-
@phantasmal said:
Collision coupled with environmental and auditory clues completely nullifies the downside of not seeing the actual character model of survivors tbh.
yeah dude lets just make her have no way of knowing where survivors are with her power sounds good....

I'd like his detection to be more consistent cause i hate being broken out of night shroud behind a rock that i go to trying to break LoS and i'm actively still getting detected while they are just looking at a rock.

Lol, that's like telling survivors to stop gen-rushing, also known as doing the objective. Killing is the killers objective just like gens are the survivors objective
I'm pretty sure thats the joke he is making LMAO, no way anyone can say that seriously.
-
My only issue with ds is it's not truly anti-tunnel. I can down someone else, hook them and down the person who got unhooked before and i get an undeserved stab in the back for nothing just cause the timer wasn't off. It's more of an annoyance than anything cause I do everything i can not to tunnel.

She doesn't need a nerf. She just needs actual counter play aside from 'guess right or constantly run Iron Will'. Its as simple as giving her no collision in phase to mess with her hearing to give the survivor some more counter play. And maybe slightly decrease her phase speed. Emphasis on slightly.
you are basically saying nerf her.

Her entire design is based on not telegraphing to Survivors when she uses her Power. Take that away and Spirit will become a harmless M1 Killer that on top walks at a slower pace, making her extremely loop-able.
I'm curious though, since you guys always fail to point that one out: what is this "exact definition of imbalance"? Can you word that definition it or is it yet another sweeping expression to cover a lack of arguments for such a case?
exactly, some people are showing double standards, especially with the removing collision while phasing that people keep suggesting. It's not okay for Spirit to stand still and mindgame, but if collision was removed survivors could do just that and Spirit would have no way to know if you were there. It's ridiculous the ideas people have and don't actually think things out.
-
After nurse addon changes and possible base fuckery, people will complain about anything that gives them trouble. Nurse without her addons is fair imo no range or extra blinks. Spirit should be left alone like Billy should be left alone cause we always see people complain about nerfing both of them.

Sadly Nea (personal opinion) has some of the worst cosmetics. I'm not saying "Nea needs Kawaii eyes and big assets" but rather she needs something that actually makes her look....human. Right now all her cosmetics (aside from that awesome red jacket) all seem "homeless" like you said rather than "punk" or "rebel".
What we got:

What we want:
i find it hilarious how ppl draw Nea but don't actually draw her but someone else in her clothes basically cause none of the art ever looks like her, Samination is close though

Red ranks = long waiting times a d sweaty 15 k BP games
Alot of that has to do with the gens just being too fast, survivors not making as many mistakes in chases and getting those ruin skill checks and killers trying to kill them as fast as possible and keep them off them.
I wish we didn't have to play as try hard as we do now at the red ranks, but we are trying our best at those ranks so it's whatever until devs do something about that red ranks will always be a mix of challenging and unfair when you run into swf and omega blink nurses

Forgot to quote you.
Maybe, I don't play Leatherface that often and i'm pretty sure billy slows down to there sprint speed when he starts to rev his chainsaw. 90%-95% is about right.
-
@MrDardon said:
It seems that it's faster than Billy. Billy moves with 230 % while sprinting. Maybe around Nurse speed. 330 %-ish
He's talking about holding it as in before the charge.
I think he is as fast as Leatherface when he holds his chainsaw cause survivors do gain distance on you when you start the charge, just a bit slower than them.
-
Plague on the dedicated servers is a nightmare, it seems the ptb isn't having the weird matchmaking like on live game so it just makes it feel worse. Hopefully they'll have it smoothed out by the time it's time to make it live if not they really should delay it until it's as close to perfect as possible.
-
Hmm i wonder how much dying light stacks too and how good it'd be with thanataphobia, that could be quite a good combo
-
ivory and ebony should be used after a two hook and should give more points than they do now, currently you lose sacrifice points for using it. cypress should just be base kit just to make the final kill more of a show to watch idk. Of course keys should change too if moris will cause survivors can pass them around and pick them up, I'm not sure how though but both make the game end quicker and pretty lame at that imo.

Well let's see here. All jungle gyms can be mindgamed or the pallet can be forced to be dropped quickly. You can also force survivors to drop stray pallets around the junk. Some window loops on specific buildings are way too long and they cannot be mindgamed. What pallet loops cannot be mindgamed in your opinion then? @TKTK
Forcing pallets isn't a mindgame, the loops at bloodlodge majority waist high, most loops on cold wind the long bins or whatever there called the farm house with the windows, the up to 4 loops around thompson's house, cow loop, the junkyard maps waist high loops and jungle gyms, iron works building and the waist high loops there, the jungle gyms have the windows that you can't mind game when they go for it, suffocation pit with the building window into 2 or 3 waist high loops around it, haddonfield and lery's get dumb window loops, the game has like 3 or 4 god pallets i remember 2 bad loops around a starway thats huge and you can see the killers every move, i can go on but I'm pretty sure it's just gonna end in we'll agree to disagree and move on, balance talk is draining cause everyone experiences the game differently so i'm gonna go to bed.

Try playing against people with 4000-7000 hours. I have. Plenty of times and because of that I can confirm MOST loops can be mindgamed, but they just require you to be more creative and unpredictable.
yes be creative when they can see you on the other side of the loop, as i said the loops you can mind game aren't as frequent as they should be.
-
@shmoul said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/653183#Comment_653183
You can actually mindgame most loops (I agree there are a few that are busted though) and make them unsafe for the survivor. Both sides need to pay attention to what the other side did so yes it is interactive
i think you over state how many loops can be mind gamed waist high loops you have to loop unless you are huntress, nurse, or spirit, jungle gyms and the pallets like on the game,good survivors aren't getting hit if you get hit at a jungle gym you really shouldn't be and there is nothing the killer can do but loop it and break the pallet and find someone else that isn't at a strong loop so they have a chance there is no interactivity survivors at those loops just react and move according to the way the killer moves.

Yeah, because pressuring devs worked so well with it taking 2 years to fix decisive strike, and NOED still being complained about but they haven't budged on that. Or hell, they still haven't even touched prayer beads.
I think people over exaggerate the over exaggeration about devs reflex stomping anything that gets complained about.
Devs are aware that too many safe loops with no mind games is an issue, or are you saying that you are dissatisfied with the current state of the new Badham map? Because I've been able to mind game almost every single pallet in those maps as any M1 killer from my experience.
You can look at legion and see how they over did it on there power when they didnt need to in regards to there speed and addons.
The overly safe loops have been problem for years and they are just now getting into changing them when it could be as simple as putting door by the window in iron works of misery for example. They have made bad maps up to legion chapter with Mt. Ormond with it's connected shack into 2 jungle gyms and the plague chapter with the huge temple map with waist high unmindgameable loops it's like they just realised how bad they are this year smh. I didn't say anything about Badham I think it's fine, but if they did it right the first time they wouldn't have to come back and redo it cause they thought that was good map design in the resent past.

There's a difference between a killer being good, like Billy, and a killer just being flat out boring to play against because their interaction with the opposite side is so low, that a Spirit who literally takes their hands off the mouse and keyboard can be "mind gaming" you and is therefore a threat.
Legion was changed not because he was too good, but because he had a sincere lack of counter play. Nurse add-ons are getting changed because again, multi blink add-ons for Nurse are being changed because again, there's a sincere lack of counterplay.
Playing against a good Spirit is pretty much no different. If the Spirit knows how to play, you're going to go down and there's no escaping it no matter what you do as a survivor.
I disagree I think people over exaggerate to pressure the devs to nerf spirit cause it's worked in the past when people gripe about anything they don't like to play against. It'll work again i'm sure and then we can all run around jungle gyms connected into cow loops and other jungle gyms and loops that have 0 mindgames cause thats not a bigger issue at all.... It's whatever i'll be a survivor main when they nerf killers that can deal with them until they fix all the maps in 4 years
-

Playing against Spirit is just one big guessing game where she has the upper hand. Meaning if I get hit I can’t really learn from that mistake as it just means I guessed wrong...
Also she’s not a very interactive killer to play against. Most chases are Phase>Hit>Phase>Hit. That’s incredibly boring for the survivor as again, I can’t really learn from getting hit as it’s just a guessing game.
You can run perks to mitigate the damage she can do but they aren’t necessarily a counter. Any decent Spirit will have a headset to hear your footsteps.
Do you think m1 killers running loops breaking pallets while survivors can freely look behind them is interactive?
-
ugh idk why people have to belittle each other in a discussion, prayer beads probably needs to be ultra rare instead of fathers glasses if not reworked but spirit imo is fine we shouldn't bandwagon on nerfs or spew hate for people that play the killers that gives people trouble just like how people try to nerf Billy. A pvp game is always gonna have the few characters that perform better than the rest, not every killer should have the same tactics work on them either imo people seriously need to play killer and survivor to see the full picture too jeez.

Which is my point. Pipping should be seen as a matchmaking tool so you don't have those games. While winning is something different because you get actual rewards for it as well as enjoyment. and also I guess a druggy dose of dopamine.
The scoring system should reflect the effort you put in, as survivor it does alright but as killer it needs work is all i'm saying when you get to the higher ranks.
