95% of my games are solo Q's
All my friends play at night so if I want to play during the day its by myself with a bunch of randoms and lately I've been getting into lobbies with Brown ranked survivors and yes they need to learn but it also makes it harder for me to actually try to be able to do gens while ruins up cause as Im hitting the skill checks they are missing them lmfao. I dont wanna be that dick and point them off the gen tho. So I deal with it lmfao.
And yes I agree with you 100% but there is no way for me to tell my teammates not to. You know? I try shaking my body back and forth trying to say "no" but it doesn't work and they all end up downed or hit and chased but then the killer comes back lol.
It was a ######### show earlier I played 6 games and 4 outta those 6 games was like that..the other 2 games I played I got a black screen saying that DBD crashed..its been a hell of a day for dbd for me lmfao.
This is legitimately the current matchmaking experience. Bhvr have really messed matchmaking up yet again.

I don't run DH from a long time ago so I only see it as a killer at the moment. But I may check it.
That's fair. I've been testing it tonight and it's just so bad right now lol. I didn't like it before personally but it's a big yikes.
-
@Saitamfed said:
Thing is, there was a difference due to latency that made DH easier to use. At the moment DH works but if DH effect ends and you happen to be in the place where the killer's hit is registred by the game then you will likely be hit.
The exhaustion but not actually taking effect thing is very common right now thanks to the latency, just as killers are having an easy time because they get handed free hits due to the latency a ton. It's kind of boring have that easy a time, but also frustrating that it happens when playing survivor too.
-
Sounds like your team played too close to each other and so were easy to find to apply pressure. A good killer will know when to go after these chases as it leads to a snowball as others have said above.
That said if i've got 3 downs in the first minute I'll usually try my hardest to drag the game out because it's boring to end so quickly and it's quite the opposite to rewarding despite it being an outplay unlike a 4k with tombstone for example.
-
The servers are awful tbh. They need turning off until they're fixed. And matchmaking fixing...
-
A lot of people do love the playstyle but just feel he's weak; I never got into the flow with the Doctor myself. I hope they don't change him too much like they did Freddy (which was a net positive, though I just feel it would ruin what the doctor is to change his fundamental mechanics) I want the weaknesses of his power addressed. as well as the fact that he isn't intuitive for either side at low level making him very hard to pick up or go against for newer players.
But in addressing his weaknesses I don't expect to make things easy mode for him in the way I feel has happened for freddy, to an extent, in that the mindgames are built into him even without add-ons or work.
-
Her optimal playstyle involves giving up on chases quickly and applying pressure all over, as well as a ton more forethought than most other killers. I suppose many people don't like that, but she's one of my favourites for that reason. Having a game plan really helps and recognising when you should leave a chase are more important to her than for others.

I do that too but no OP or annoying builds usually, like I won’t run the forever Freddy unless i see 4 survivor with items and something feels like at least a few are SWF
forever freddy? do you mean gen builds? If so, I don't see much reason to outside of SWF, as you say; he applies pressure well enough and has add-ons to slow down things a tiny bit if you really feel it's necessary. It's super fun, and he does the mindgaming for you too which I find quite amusing to see in action.

I'll admit it is annoying going up against Doctor, but not because of the skill check difficulties or anything that his power does to me, just specifically the extra loudness and crazy noises haha it gets on my nerves, but hey that's probably the point, part of playing Doctor is to really get under people's skin.. haha I remember when my RL Friend tried the game he was terrified by Doctor because of all the crazy ######### happening
It may be the point, but I don't think it is - it genuinely makes it unfun/painful to play vs him. And to boot, he doesnt feel good to use either since he's pretty weak! It's a sad state of affairs; almost like old legion except at least running fast felt fun to some degree.

One question - is Doctor buffed (or nerfed?) and will his basekit be slightly adjusted or just Addons? Thanks!
They're wanting to buff him.

About doctor: please make sure to change his annoyance factor. It's unbearable for me to verse him.
Especially since they changed the sound effects and you constantly hear the entity. And being insane vs him is SO DAMN LOUD; needlessly so. That would be fine, but compared to the rest of the game, it physically hurts the ears and turning the volume down would make everything else impossible to hear. Actually this is a complaint I have about multiple aspects of the game, such as chase music and TR at times.
-
if I want an easier game I'll play Freddy or Spirit. It feels like easy mode most of the time and freddy is fun af.
-
I reallty would love it to be removed and replaced with something else tbh.
It just causes survivors to waste time and get their teammates killed in the process.

Would maybe need some serious statistics. In my opinion, the game breaking stuff is not really that often. And there are several skill based killers like nurse (which is kinda bulls if you CANT play her) and spirit, and also all the stealth killers like pig and GF, Myers depending on build.
Several killers have their own mindgame set which need skill to use and need skill to use their powers, like pig ambush attack on loops, aiming with Plague, Clown, Huntress, I think even Placing with Trapper, Freddy and Hag is skill based if it gets beyond the default spots where almost every survivor expects traps.
And from survivor side, timing and optimized looping is pretty much skill based. Knowing which direction to loop, how much distance you need to get the window without getting hit, being able to look around while in chase, awareness where the killer is whie chasing... I really can't share the opinion that all of this is not skill based.
Regarding the game breakers, I know that, if you play several games a day, you will most likely face it at least once per day. But notice that negative experience is always recognized stronger than positive. So the bad games weigh harder than the good ones, even if it is just 2 out of 10, feels more like 5 out of 10.
The main problem seriously are the bugs and the balancing. Sometimes I also wish they should get some consulting from Blizzard about balancing, they'ev proven in several games that they kinda master this discipline. But a "rather bugfree" DBD would also change the impression of the balancing and game experience massively.
Yeah as a huge fan of Overwatch...don't go to Blizzard for tips when balancing, especially with how irregular balance updates are. (DBD gets them more and they're usually more positive for the game)

Honestly so? its not meant for casual players, its only a couple hours a day, and I know a lot of us will play 100 hours in 70 days easily.
If you play this game consistently, and its your main hobby/game, you should have no issue hitting it. If you don't play that much, well it isnt really for you. Its for those of us who unlocked every perk and P3ed everyone we wanted years ago, and obsessively consume everything dbd related we can.
battlepasses are generally aimed at squeezing money out of CASUAL audiences, actually.
-
So it's the cashgrab we all said it would be when we realised Bhvr were planning one after being asked our opinion on getting a battlepass in a survey?
Shock, horror.
It's horrific, though.
I play this game more than I do any other, and my chances of hitting the required hours are really low.

Like, when did it click for you? What makes a character enjoyable to you?
I’m just wondering because I like Jane because of her cosmetics, and I like Nancy since she was my fave from Stranger Things.
Freddy: high APM/the need to think fast and take into account passives makes him fun for me.
Legion: I used to love being fast and then not playing the game like an A-hole but other people ruined that for us. I also loved spreading the pain with FF, but again, ruined for us by frank's and moonwalking abusers and now it's not viable 9 times out of 10 to even think about trying to do it.
Kate: because she is bae, and I love the jiggle physics on her pickaxes (yeah i know your mind went there...)
Dwight: He's just a cutie
Steve: Who doesn't want to main mom?
-
I too love to hold M1 only to do a fast swipe 180 into the air, for no actual reason.
-
I call for buffs to weaker killers and nerfs to overpowered killers all at the same time; it's almost as if they aren't mutually exclusive.
Though right now, the only thing I consider OP is live nurse and prayer beads.
Hint: i also see a lot of things related to survivors need nerfing too. :)

Since instaheals got nerfed its time to nerf the next big problem MORIS
So lets think of good nerfs for the moris i think ebony and ivorys should only be usable on
A. When all gens are powered
B. On third hook
Ngl, they should have been nerfed together. Moris are much more gamebreaking than instaheals. I say this as someone who doesn't use either for good reason.
(devour hope is fine; I refer only to offerings)

It's not just killer mains saying this. Both sides have tried telling people.
I know, in this post however there are some I've seen saying otherwise when it fit them.
I've always tried to point out that when it comes to balance, changes need to be made to both sides to make it more fair for the other. But naturally I'll always be hounded for it.
-
I love that killer mains I've seen whining about survivor bias are now saying the devs aren't biased toward one side or the other because it suits them. Smh. Such a lack of consistency.
I'm sick of mains from both side doing this tbh, though; just funny to see the hypocrisy in this post.

Like I keep saying, you can't balance a game around 5% of players. This game isn't a competitive game. It's a casual game.
The " devs never care about us, survivors always win" types of things are getting tiring at this point.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/742137#Comment_742137
The biggest problem is the amount of weak killers. One killer being broken isn't any better than a killer being weak in my opinion
Exactly this; other killers need to be brought up to be on par with billy, but that doesn't also mean we should have killers stronger than him, because as many of us agree, he's perfect in terms of game balance. And having and OP killer is no better than one that is UP.
Actually I say this, but Freddy has had exactly that done; he, as far as I'm concerned, is just as viable as Billy.
-
Tbh the rework looks great. Add-ons actually seem like they'll mostly have uses (would be the first killer to have this atm) with some interesting/fun effects, AND they dealt with some of her most oppressive issues when it came to counterplay.
-
Not going to give my opinion on NOED, but small game or detective's hunch + inner strength is a great incentive to cleanse dull totems even if you're the type to just pump out gens...especially, even.
-
It's intentional since the Legion rework happened.

Hm never got this problem, i play on console tho... I dont know if that would make any difference.
It may well make a big difference; I notice a lot of input lag specific to this game that affects a ton of people relevant to PC, including having to spam M1 in order to do a basic attack or do a gen/begin healing (which often costs a game losing amount of time) and I wouldn't be surprised if somehow this was related.
Legion has a particularly fun glitch where if you go past (but not quite on them) a dying survivor while chasing someone, it will actually decide to flick your camera up and hit the hook even though you were right against them and aiming away. I remember discovering this with legion 1.0 when spamming the power on the last hook of the game, and finding it happened all the time.

Just telling ya what the devs said.
I know, I'm just saying what they said is obviously false and many killer players can attest to it; not an attack on you

According to Mclean, there is no autoaim. The only thing they have is a sort of system to make the animation look smoother. When you click, the game says if you hit something or not, and the animation plays in a way to represent that.
Well it's false; often you can be directly on a survivor, theyre in the middle of your screen, you hold M1, and it decides to suddenly face you upwards or to the side and you hit the sky or wood, etc.

People thinking infinites exist in 2019. BTW that 'INFINITE' you seem to think exists on haddonfield can be mind gamed. Work on improving before coming and begging for nerfs.
It is mindgameable as certain killers or vs survivors that dont pay attention, but even then unless its nurse it will be a long af chase before the killer gets the hit...

@Rivyn said:
Give her a bubble butt.
O, and change prayer beads. Maybe to give some type of global warning when she's phasing or something if using them?
Global warning would be really weak imo; I think the healthiest change would simply to make ti increase the range at which the phasing is heard. That is, if you're only a few meters out of TR, then you still won't hear her phasing, but if you're really far then you'll hear it.
That way its uses are still there, but there is potential for actual mindgames and counterplay.

Three rank 1s and a rank 20 would destroy a rank 7/8 killer. The rank 20 will be a smurf account anyway.
I mean they don't destroy me and I'm a rank 7 killer?

The patch notes imply that what you're suggesting was already the way it was being done.
"Adjusted the matchmaking logic so that Survive With Friends groups are matched using the highest rank of all players in the group (instead of the average)."
I assume you didn't read it properly then; this is because it was bugging to give a very low rank killer, as it went by the lowest rank player rather than the average.
-
@TAG said:

The problem is that if you fix the issue, it is at lower rank Survivors' expense, but if you don't, it is at lower rank Killers' expense. At some point, you have to decide who bites the bullet: The people who choose to team up together despite the sizeable gap in rank, or the person who doesn't really get a say in being matched up against them.
Fixing the issue would have provided a middle ground where 3 rank 1's up with a rank 20 wouldn't end up against a rank 20, but instead a rank 7/8. Killers at that rank usually already have to deal with red rank solo and swf survivors anyway, so it wouldn't be punishing them at all.
Oh well, doesn't affect me, but it's a bad; fittingly lazy change.
-
You know at the lowest and the highest ranks killers generally stay very close by, right? It's only mid rank where you don't generally expect the proxy camp in my experience...and that of many others.
He's already loaded with built in mindgames and map pressure; (which is great) he doesn't need to counter BT simply by EXISTING.
-
Only time people will be more likely to not play like an a**hole tbh. (On both sides, I mean)
And it actually feels rewarding to receive 300% BP, all the way up to 800% (with WGLF/BBQ) as the grind feels so slow and unrewarding for the time commitment, especially as survivor.

DS says hi.
Freddy even isn't a top 5 killer, so there is really no reason to complain about him.
Yes, he is.
Getting the oblivious status as a passive was too much; if it was earned it wouldn't be a problem. I love the new Freddy in fact, he's my killer main, but anyone who plays both sides can see that it's too much. All of a sudden he's brainless...and let's not talk about how obnoxious puddle spamming gets lmao
-
The PC I use is able to run new games from 2019 in 4K Ultra; (which I've tried earlier today) I know what I'm talking about in this case.
And my post was very clear that I know others have this issue too, both personally, and on the forum.
The 'I don't have this problem so it's not a real problem, your PC is a potato' response is in no way helpful, btw.
As with most issues in this game, the bug inevitable will only target a specific group of players. Such is the way of DBD. Just got rid of the rank update error bug too.
-
It's not just me it's happening to, so it's definitely not just me.

Totally agree with this.
It's meant to be average rank as of 2-3 patches ago. And it briefly was, before matchmaking broke again.
-
These people aren't SWF. The new players are being put into random games and it's messing with games for both sides
-
It's pretty rare nowadays in my experience; I usually have multiple hooks before my ruin is destroyed, if I'm even running it. Conversely, I often have a hard time finding it now since there are some obscure spots so I just power through the gens since I can usually hit the skillcheck anyway after so much time on the game. That said, my teammates...not so much. lmao.
-
@SeekerOfSouls said:
Match making is definitely wonky, but I think it’s more than that possibly.
DBD is free currently, maybe it’s not all instances, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some higher rank doing SWF with his/her friend trying out the game for free.
My example here was me with the other green rank person, the other two may have been together. But it was clearly their first game.
And it's not the first time it's happened. Plus we need to take into account the other information I gave too; it's definitely not more than the matchmaking being an issue. It's supposed to take average rank and try to find something within that; instant queue outside of those ranks is not doing it's job right.
-
Yeah honestly I want it to be buffed to work the same as now but in addition, if in TR, it should work on a gen with any level of progress.
-
Idk about quality of play much yet, but I find Nancy players to be the new Claudettes in terms of immersion and Steve players to be the new suicidal david kings that either seem to have no clue what they're doing or be really strong survivors.
Time will tell in truth, however.

Idk, but rank reset doesn't help with the volume of them. Just played a game where I had 3 people tagged and the second one I hit ran to the corner of the map to self-care, I saw scratchmarks lead there and then stop so it was obvious. They DC'd when I picked them up...like, really...
