Any exhaustion perk depending on playstyle,
adrenaline
BT is a must because it allows for safe hook rescues in cases where there would be 0% chance otherwise
Any information perk really; I like bond, some like object/spine chill. And others will run DS to add to the anti-camp/tunnel theme but it's not as necessary, just a nice safety blanket.

What?? They buffed DS and MoM. They are more OP than before. And I’m not bad man! It’s not my fault they have pallets in the game and I chase the same survivor all game. Pallets need to be removed and it should be 2 killers vs 3 survivors. The game might be close to being balanced at that point, but survivors would still have an advantage. Oh and I’m a survivor main actually BTW.
MoM was never buffed?
And DS was changed, not buffed. In a sense it's a better perk, but it's also a LOT more fair AND fun for both sides.

Consistent is the goal here? Not growing? That's a low standard bud but as long as you got survivors to kill you could care less right?
Do you have any idea how online gaming communities work? They dwindle over the years until they arrive/stagnate at a set number (depending on the game, of course) at which point the MAIN goal is to keep those people happy, interested and spending money. That isn't to say a side objective wouldn't be to attract new players. And DLC's related to pop culture are a great way of doing that. It keeps it interesting for old players at the same time as attracting new.
Edit: Luckily for DBD and other games I've played, bad balancing/a lack of regular balance changes doesn't generally end up adversely affecting the numbers as much as one would believe. It should, to force faster changes, but it doesn't.

So they should be able to thrive without a partnership from Netflix for a highly popular show and just drop a orginial killer and survivor oh wait that doesn't bring in enough people. But nice try tho.
...What?
In terms of numbers they've been consistent for a very long time, long before Ghostface.
The game itself has issues for sure, which I also wish had bigger backlashes when they were left alone for 6 months plus at a time (I'm looking at you, rank/pipping bug that's been there since Ash came into the game) but they really aren't having all that much of an effect.
Exposure with things like Stranger Things in the long term helps to increase numbers and hence provide a larger profit margin, and hence could allow for more swift updates in the future. But it isn't necessary for the game to survive.
-
Game doesn't need saving, but nice try.
-
Because everyone will love to play as and main mom ;)
-
Possibly an oversight; possibly because the devs didn't want the aura reading to be used to make a free win out of which perk is used when the hatch is closed.

Isn't that EXACT point of the perk? Hiding heartbeat is what this perk does.
It is actually designed for camping as it is hard to use for anything else.
Maybe changing it to instead trigger when you stand still in chase or something?
It was designed with mindgames in mind; by removing your heartbeat, it also removes the red stain. The camping was just a nasty side effect that wasn't thought of when making it.
Making it activate in chase, but faster than 3 seconds would be a great change and add some extra variety for killers when it comes to perks tbh.

It's only 'BS' because you don't like it.
It's not a bug, glitch, or abuse of mechanics.
It requires a Killer to give up a perk slot AND gen pressure AND 3 other kills for ONE KILL.
And if you're running in against a Killer clearly FIVE METERS away, that's your fault. Not the Killers, and not the games.
Why should the Killer get punished for YOU wanting to make a bad play?
He used your friend as bait to go Survivor Fishing, and you bit. Stop acting like this is somehow not completely in your control to avoid.
You're not listening to anyone are you?
No, it's BS because it means 5 people aren't playing the game because 2 are at a hook while 3 are just holding M1 and not interacting and by doing that they actually give that killer an advantage because he will run NOED; not enough time to find all totems and do all gens while this one person is being camped.
But OK, go cry some more about how the killer is the one sacrificing themselves in making the game the most boring piece of crap to play when they do that. :)
-
@Locker_Monster said:
Lord. Can we STOP with the punishments for camping?
It happens. It sucks when it happens to you. Get over it. Move on to the next game.
Allowing BT to work against zero terror radius face camping at FIVE METERS is not punishing a camper, but allowing a chance at counterplay that isn't just 'let the survivor die because we're too lazy to come up with a solution to this BS'
-
Probably another vaulting nerf despite the fact that half the time you won't get a fast vault despite going at what is supposedly the correct angle and distance.
-
The whole point of the upcoming changes is to decrease the currently unreasonable grind. No thanks.
-
Escape rate at the highest rank was 43% when MoM was a usable perk (and OP at the time) however it was actually lower as if someone was rank 1 depipped in a game where they died, they would be counted as a rank 2 death.
Edit: my mistake, it was higher than 43%; 43 was the number found after taking the factor I mentioned into account. Even so, MoM was meta then.
-
It's no busted at all tbh; you can run it for 5 games and only get common items out of every chest - entirely luck based, even though it does have some bearing on probability.
It can be game changing, but not every game. It's a gamble. It is fun to use in order to farm items and add-ons alongside Ace in the Hole though.
-
Can't start without:
Survivor - Borrowed Time (a must tbh)
Killer - Monitor & Abuse is a pretty common one for me, though I don't actually feel any specific perk is necessary
Use but don't need:
Survivor - Bond (great information, helps me to avoid sanbagging people on gens while I'm in a chase)
Killer - BBQ (Same reason I use WGLF a ton; bloodpoints)
Perks I don't use often:
Survivor - Plunderer's Instinct (I often couple it with Ace In the Hole in order to farm items, but only once in a blue moon)
Killer - PGTW

Should check on the use of MoM as a perk too. Bet it is at rock bottom. That was a hell of a bait-and-switch move on BHVR's part. Hats of to you, you got your money out of it. How you did not know it would need to be changed before putting it up for sale is beyond me. Either incompetence, or predatory sales tactic. lol
Left Behind exists and is likely as such even less used.
-
I P3 and got every perk on my Kate, who was to be my main before Ash came out. That said, once I've got all killers I intend to play regularly to P3 with all perks, (half way there) I will be going back to Dwight, Nea, Adam and Ash and doing the same so I can perk wheel with them too and swap around freely.
As for the changes to the one decent perk on that build; it was definitely a stupid move, imo. Only safe hooks made it usable and also maxed you out at 8 tokens, so only two people could use it in one game. It was obvious that it would become a perk seldom used outside of meme builds and 4 man SWFs with the change that came.
And at the same time since this was a thing I've had a bug that made the game painful to play as I don't gain all the progress I earn and keep it. Which is still not fixed. :)

Actually, it is.
Have you heard of the n00b tube? the blue shell?
Low-skill high reward mechanics that keep the lesser skilled player in the game are an essential part of healthy game design.
If it isn't Moris or Keys, it'll be something else that people will be cursing as unfair while the skilled players ignored them in favor of something else more rewarding but requiring more work from them.
Hex: Devour Hope being a good example of something that requires more work but is more rewarding <3
-
For 4 survivors to escape with the hatch, it requires 5 gens to be done.
Don't get me wrong, there are times where it can feel you've been robbed, but chances are the survivors played around the key.
And as for their appearance rate in chests; they don't appear often, at all. Unless one is running plunderers, of course.

Legion is barely above Cannibal (Bubba is still the useless king) ... I feel bad for my susie, I bought her as soon a legion came out and now ... this. But hey (incoming sarcasm) they are just a bunch of crazy teenagers so the shouldn't be as powerful as the other adult killers right? (end sarcasm.)
I really hope they do something, Legion was over nerfed so hard it hurts.
*sad susie face*
Bubba has a useable power and the advantage that at higher ranks people expect him to rev his chainsaw at every pallet so they get really greedy and thus hand him an M2, though. Legion offers slightly easier first hit and a feeling of clunkiness with a 5 second stun. Honestly just lower the stun to be the same as a Nurse power stun so that pallet stunning him feels worth it, for example, and it doesn't feel frustrating to use, and don't have the player lose any of their power bar on a successful M1; that punishment is not good design.

Addons or not, everybody uses pallets or snares so you have 1 there.
Sleep situation every minute, is not like it used to be, so you have 2.
He attacks very fast, his slash is extremely fast, a couple hours ago I pulled a pallet down and he ended up getting hit on my side, so to avoid him I jumped the palled and he hits me again, also he advances a lot during the slash, check out good players like Tru3 and High rank survs cant even loop him, at the same time Tru3 played like a noob vs him, thats 3.
Transportation, 4... and I dont care the ¨5 seconds is a lot¨ sometimes late in the game you dont have pallets or you are in an open zone and there is not much to do.
Now he can hit you in the awake state, 5.
5 seconds isn't a lot no, but it's enough time to run to a safe spot to begin the chase, or immerse yourself away with urban evasion if you're that type of player.
His attack is no different to any other killer. The only way he attacks faster is with STBFL which is a perk that any killer can use.
Being asleep does nothing without add-ons. It actuallyt helps you to be asleep in some ways since he no longer has the phasing like the spirit has. (Oh, ok, technically 3)
Of course he can hit you in the awake state; you can SEE him in the awake state (although it's not actually an awake state - it's a micro sleep state. That is, you are half asleep at all times during the game and after a minute, you give in and fully fall asleep.
Tru3 is not a good example in this scenario as every game he plays involves him whining about something consistently. And good survivors are definitely able to loop them; they can see his red stain and that is all a good survivor really needs to see in order to loop fgs.
And getting hit through pallets happens vs all killers. Also the killer you're talking about is clearly using enduring in that scenario, which means that they may have gotten stunned but the stun ends fast enough to get a grab or another hit if the survivor is on the same side of the pallet. Honestly, that he ended up on the same side of a pallet to you after you stunned him was a result of a bug, not of Freddy; same goes for him recovering from the stun fast enough to hit you again - that wasn't the killer's fault, but the perk's.
(I know I answered these in a random order, but tried to make it as obvious as possible what I was responding to in each part)

He is OP, fake pallets or snares, transporting to gens, very fast attack you can throw him a pallet while he is on your side, jump to the other to avoid him and Fred is so fast he can hit you again.
The whole sleep situation, making you slow to do gens, a free thanatophobia.
Most killers have 2 things going on, Freddy has at least 4.
He only slows progress with add-ons. And it's nowhere near as much as it used to be.
If that's an issue, you can get out of the dream world in multiple ways.
He can't attack any faster than other killers; this makes no sense.
He has teleportation and one kind of traps in any given game. That's not 'at least 4.'
-
Honestly, against survivors that pay attention, the snares do their job incredibly well. No change needed to them at all, imo.
But lol at the person saying he's op; he's not - he's just a solid killer that most haven't gotten the hang of playing against yet.
-

bear traps are complete RNG so they can either be great, or useless... but this has ALWAYS been the case.
with that said I would like to see Pig get some love. I can't think of any reason that she crouches slower than ghostface, nor that many perks don't count dash attacks.
if nothing else, I'd just like to see better addons. it's not right that most of her decent addons come with steeps costs, while other killers get similar abilities through addons without any cost
With the fact her power can't expose people, I agree she should at least crouch as fast as GF tbh.
-
Eesh, it could honestly be either. I've been q'd with a friend of the same rank as me to get two white rank survivors vs red rank killer before, and had the opposite extreme, too.
Thankfully the SWF boosting isn't as bad as it was with it using average rank now, but it could definitely have more done to it in the future, hopefully.
-
SWF with multiple instaheals doesn't really justify noed in most cases though...

There is a bloodpoint punishment in play right now for camping killers. It came out this spring and is still in place.
Also, the original post up top said you "hello" your teammates whenever you're on the hook? Does that mean you fake attempt and thus -- flail your arms? Because that is actually the universal signal in this game that the killer is camping so stay away. Maybe that's why you're not being rescued.
There is no universal signal that killers are camping. Some may do it, but certainly not as many as you think.

PTB #1 - September 2016
The first Public Test Build took place between 20-23 September 2016 in preparation for Patch 1.1.2.
The main changes the Developers intended to test with this build:
- improved Matchmaking
- new mechanic:
- slowed-down the Entity progression on the Hook if the Killer remained within a certain proximity of it.
It was their first attempt to create and implement an anti-camping mechanic. Since the new Mechanic got abused too heavily by Survivors purposefully kiting the Killer around their hooked team mate, the Developers disabled the Mechanic again.
No reason that same change couldn't be added with the caveat that if a survivor is running them around within range that it wouldn't do this.
-
Freddy,
Hag,
Spirit,
Legion
If Legion was actually in a reasonable place (hello, longer stun when using power than a pallet stun, double that of the Nurse's incredibly oppressive power????) They'd likely have been my most played up until the Freddy rework; loving the new Freddy and I haven't even bothered with the pallet add-ons yet.

HAR! HAR! HAR! SURVIVORS DIDN' DO NUFFIN', GG EZ KILLER LULZ.
Sure the killer shouldn't have acted that way, I would have accepted my loss with a bit more dignity. However looking at your perks, seeing that the killer was running the full gambit of perks and addons and knowing how SWF typically acts/works, I do not for one second believe you guys were innocent, and played like perfect little angels. I can see why he turned into a pillar of salt.
And then you post it like its some sort of exhibition trophy.
This is why you get Killers who throw courtesy and fair play out the window. This is how you create a toxic killer who will stop a nothing to make future survivors suffer. Bravo, you unleashed another one into the world. Stand proud.
Personally I give no care either way, I am well past this point. I'm past emotion when it comes to a match now, survivors may as well be bots these to days. I only concern myself with the score. The bloodpoints are all that matters to me now.
Pretty amusing over all.
Lately I'm queuing into SWF every other game running object, DS, tbagging, all handing info to each other, etc and I've never descended to that. Stop justifying it.
(and when I say every other game I mean literally every second game)

yeah as @Orion listed, even lithe and self-care are toxic these days.
Should have gone perkless with bright clothes to avoid being the "toxic 4 man cheat with friends with OoO, insta meds, gen rush toolboxes" /s, which is actually considered toxic.
Going into the fog with bright clothes? TOXIC!
-
Object is a non-problem when it comes to Freddy; he's not a stealth killer.
Plus the devs have already confirmed they're working on its effect on actual stealth killers.
-
Freddy is at his weakest during the endgame; runnng more than one perk for that phase is just a waste, imo.
-
I haven't gotten to play vs him as a result of being stuck at super low rank thanks to the pip update error bug that affects me as a survivor (mostly pigs, trappers and wraiths to bully in the white ranks) but I don't think hes OP overall; his ability to put down snares with no slow at all so he can super quickly shjut down whole areas when hes in a chase, from the perspective of playing him. Honestly, just half a second of being slowed a little bit would balance that out and probably not affect him too much overall.
-
@Gardenia said:

No, again you're misinterpreting things. The essence of being a survivor is not to be found by the killer, so shouldn't you not want to be found by the killer rather than trying to get into a needless chase?
You really need to chill.
No, the essence of being a survivor is outplaying and surviving the killer. Stealth is a playstyle that only hands killers wins but boring games. We all know this; the community as a whole, killers and survivors alike, would be enraged if suddenly the game had to be played stealthily.
It is boring. Unengaging, even.
-
I don't see them nerfing him; he's not as oppressive as GF was at live release and certainly isn't going to be Nurse level of OP.
-
@KillermainBTWm8 said:
There are many counters against this nowadays DS,BT,Kindred. It's annoying to face against but it should not be reportable for a multitude of reasons including the fact that survivors will report the killer for camping even when they aren't.
Ah so the counters to camping and tunneling are running multiple perks specifically to avoid that. Excellent game design; force the player to waste perk slots and limit the way they play because they're too scare to disincentivise a specific, obnoxious way of playing the game, that is a huge cause of people quitting the game.
-
Legion. No other killer is so hindered by their power.
-
@TAG said:
To be fair, nothing apart from licensing issues and extra effort in recording audio is stopping them, since Legion shows that they can do male and female body types for the same Killer provided they are comparable.
That being said, as a Pig player, I'm indifferent to a male Pig skin.
Issue is, the Pig is only one person; The Legion is in lore multiple people
-
Well that's an obvious lie lmao
-
super friendly toxic clown main here. first off i wanna say thank you to everyone who plays survivor.
Killer = long queue time into terrible matchmaking. I prefer killer, but it's just tedious.
-
This is literally the purpose of the map reworks????
-
Trust me, not everyone; you just come across 4 survivors per game meaning more likely to have one that's toxic.
-
In reality if we force stealth based gameplay, the game will likely die; we hate going up against blendettes with urban immersion, iron will etc, for a reason.

That's not true at all; you'll get at least one in most bloodwebs (for reference my legion has about 80, it's ridiculous) and it's not rare to come across an instasaw billy or omegablink nurse with noed plus ruin AND an ebony together.
-
@MySpaceBarsBroken said:
No one is going to admit the latter to you. But literally 95% of killers will slug both and or rehook the same person every single time after waiting and purposely targetting the player being farmed. This is because if you unhook your teamate, you must automatically be a SWF and therefor punished by getting tunneled. Then blame the survivor for being farmed off the hook in front of him. Killer logic
Farming =/= SWF. Every last time I've been farmed while playing survivor, it was by a random.
If people farm each other then it's a free win as a rule.
