  • That's not her passive phasing; that's Yamaoka Haunting. And no, it completely obliterates the object of a mind-game if you KNOW what she's doing.

  • I prefer the Clown, but you can get some fun memes and some sick plays with the Pig too.

Have you ever escaped a doc without ever being in T1 madness?

What's that got to do with there being no scary killers?

Also: yes. But only when they didn't know how their power worked and I was new to the game.

  • @Dragonredking said:

I tend to play stealth and I welcome any doc games as a challenge.

    Also no killer is "scary"

Then you haven't played against a good Myers, GF, or Spirit...or killer with tinkerer while working on the first gen.

  • @johnmwarner said:

Doors fixed when totem placement is fixed, sound fair?

implying totem spawns are literally the end of the game. lmao.

  • The killer is fine; idk of any bugs that make it impossible to play survivor, though. However the fact that it now crashes me out of a game when I should have pipped rather than regularly resetting my rank after almost every game makes it feel awful; i can't type in post-game chat or spectate.

The rest is true, though I'd change 'barely any' for 'literally no' content.

  • After having fixed the power of GF, I clearly observe that it is easier to reveal it, I pose some ideas to balance the killer, I do not know if these ideas devs have it in mind.

4 seconds to stalk, 2 seconds to reveal? So you want your power's exposed effect to be handed to you? It's already easy enough to cheese.

First suggestion is good - the power bar I feel could do with filling faster, and I feel this way about Legion, too.

  • Would be cool as a new mode with a different atmosphere; I feel third person is best for the main mode of the game though, personally. Honestly, I find first person gives me more information in games- third person feels awkward and limits what I notice.

Because survivors have all the power in this game, they dced so much to get legion gutted.

If they can't loop something they will lobby to get it changed.

They are trying the same tactics on nurse now

No. The entire community as a whole rallied up against the issues; what was needed, however, was not a full rework - just a few MINOR changes that changed the way he was played, such as changes to FMT and how DW worked (as well as SOME repercussion to missing hits...not total loss of power) - we got those, as well as a substantial number of nerfs which we didn't ask for; now Legion's designed to be played the way I always played them anyway and yet its 10 times as hard to play in the appropriate manner. The stun time and cold dirt didn't need adjusting, for example. They were fine as they were, but because you could cleverly use it to body block a survivor from a pallet thanks to the increased speed in FF that we don't even have anymore, it was gutted.

He has got two other perks.

    Two more useless perks. :)

  • They nerfed an aspect of GF's addon-ons that weren't fair, but buffed onme that wasn't fair for him...it's fine.

  • In-game voice chat would result in a huge increase in toxicity, tbh, and it would mess up killers a lot more; they'd need big buffs to compensate. Although doing this could bridge the gap between SWF and solo, finally...

Really you haven't seen any? I cant tell if in the forums or steam hub, people were like well good buff for the perk. Asking will i get banned for doing this?

Also I don't get this logic of yours, you come into a thread about a certain perk and change the subject to "what about x"? I mean dude create a thread, ask for a fix, ban whatever and make people aware. But you derail a thread and tell people they are grasping for straws sorry but lol.

I didn't ask 'what about x?' at all. I responded to the OP stating they aren't banning people for this or use of other bugged perks, and have only done it once this year because it was game breaking. I'm sorry you can't handle that, though?

I am not reaching, I think the people who think "well the killer had broken perks 2 years ago so this is ok" are the ones reaching, dont confuse me with them. I am simply calling out the blatant double standard on these forums.

if survivors exploit, its no big deal

If killer does = tthey should be banned

    LUL

Again, killers exploited pinky finger and no one was banned for it; PWYF is also not getting a ban. I have seen exactly 0 people justify using Wake Up! but plenty using PWYF now that it has no counterplay.

No one is saying 'ban the killer, not the survivor' - literally no one; you scream double standard, but all you're doing is clutching at straws and you god damn know it. That's all this forum is at the end of the day, for the most part; the extremes of survivors and killers (though it does seem to have much more of the killers present or at the very least they're loud AF) meanwhile the rest of us want it to be fair/balanced for BOTH sides and so try to actually listen to both sides.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/549534#Comment_549534

The difference is, I am not here saying PWYF exploit isnt as bad as WakeUp, an exploit is an exploit, they all break the game for the one having exploits used against them.

I see all exploits the same, the double standard comes from survivors trying to downplay WakeUp likes its not a bad exploit when its the literal exact as legion Mend, one slows game one speeds up game, same to me.

I'm not trying to downplay it vs PWYF though; I was VERY clear that if one gets a punished, the other will too. And both probably should.

The only time this year it's happened, though, has been the infinite mending bug, and rightly so, since it made the game literally unplayable - the survivor couldn't let go of M1 or they'd fall down; the only real counter would have been no mither + tenacity + unbreakable in real terms and even then it wasn't a good idea, for obvious reasons.

The mend didn't just slow the game down - it made it impossible to play. Let's not forget how FF's Killer Instinct works and how easy it was to chain hits before the rework.

And they also didn't ban for the pinky finger bug, which is just as bad as the Wake Up! bug, quite easily, by making chases incredibly easy to win very quickly.

And ironically, you're trying to liken something that doesn't make the killer unable to move, to something that made the survivors literally unable to play the game - that is a reach.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/549405#Comment_549405

It breaks the game just as much, you are just bias and applying a double standard.

...no. It should be disabled; if people are abusing it I thnk they should be banned, but the fact is that it's not being banned, and the reason is quite clear: it doesn't break the game/make it 100% unplayable and simply is NOT auto-win perk selection, unlike the filthy + nasty blade combo bug of the past. (And. I. Am. A. Legion/Hag/Spirit. Main.)

And you forget they aren't banning for abusing PWYF, which at 3 stacks has no real counterplay to it other than forcing the killer to waste stacks on the non-obsession.

Ty for telling me what I think though, seriously. :)

  • Some Hillbilly told me that i will get banned for using wake up as i'm abusing a bug. Have the devs said anything about banning?

Nope. Not until an in-game message comes up; same with PWYF and previously the bugged pinky finger that noone got banned for using.

Probably won't be bannable at all unless it completely breaks the game, which is what the last bannable offense did - it was auto-win. This very clearly isn't.

  • Stun buff and pins for vault speed or FF speed; sorted, and more variety since right now only about 4 of the Legion's add-ons really see any use.

@MegMain98 yep exactly what I've been saying since it went live.

@kabu I'd say 3 seconds is good enough; it's longer than the nurse still, sure, but it means that you can tactically trick a survivor into stunning you with a pallet to last less time with enduring, or same time without, eating a pallet and wasting no real time. Plus we have to put Cold Dirt, Joey's, and Julie's mix tapes into consideration as they also reduce the stun a bit. I don't think they'd need changing if it were 3 seconds, but 2.5 seconds people may argue it so.

  • God forbid they make sure you don't have a natural advantage because you spend money on specific cosmetics and play a specific survivor or killer that benefits from it.

  • Pinky finger wasn't bannable and PWYF isn't bannable. They should be disabled, not banning people for it.

The blade bug made the game literally unplayable for one side. This doesn't do that, although it should still be disabled rather than a bannable offense, but if they choose not to disable then it needs to be bannable along with PWYF until they fix them; right now, there are too many bugs with perks to be completely ignored.

Also interestingly I've seen Wake Up! zero times since this bug came to be and before it used to be pretty common thanks to EGC. I'd say this was very bad luck.

  • @shalo said:

Legion's kill rate was up since the nerf.

I wonder if DCs are counted as escapes, the avalanche of survivor DC's facing Legion prior to the rework would explain why the kill rate is up.

Idk, if I outplay survivors they tend to DC vs me as Legion...

  • @Exerlin said:

I agree that buttons and deep wound need some sort of buff. I have two ideas for a deep wounds change:

    1. The deep wounds timer decreases while in the terror radius to a minimum of 25%. Afterwards, deep wounds will no longer decrease or put you into the dying state while inside the terror radius.
    2. Attacking a survivor with deep wounds while in feral frenzy decreases the timer by 1/3. (basically just make Frank's Mix Tape baseline).

Having both of these in the game at the same time would be awful, but just one would be a good enough nerf here.

For the buttons, I like your vault speed idea. I also like the idea of having them apply the status effect until the survivor heals to healthy, but your's is better.

Cooldown is really annoying to work with as Legion, but I'm not sure if it needs to be shorter.

The CD definitely needs reducing; look at the most mobile, strongest killer in the game, that the devs haven't touched in a very long time - The Nurse, with...a 2 second CD. Meanwhile a 115 killer has a 4 second cooldown; you may aswell bait a pallet stun over ending your power so that you get out of it faster. It basically FORCES you to run enduring and spirit fury, in order to be viable.

  • I agree with most of it, but Killer Instinct has always been that web-like effect, that wasn't changed with the Legion rework as you suggest?

  • @gantes said:

    1. makes no sense for him to remain stealthed after a stun
    2. they already stated that stalking an already marked survivor was never intended
    3. do you guys even play survivor? Have you ever seen a high level streamer playing against him? Revealing him is jank af. It's SUPER bugged. Like bugged beyond belief. It NEEDS adjusting.

I was skeptical at first about the changes, but honestly, they're barely gonna touch his viability. You guys should wait to see how things play out before you #########. But it's too much to ask from these forums, I know.

Pointing out how hard it is to reveal and how easy it is to abuse the buffer to keep stalk level while canceling the reveal in this will just get you mass voted down; this forum is basically just 2 echo chambers; one for salty killers, and one for salty survivors, and a small number of people in the middle ground who want to see it actually be a fun game with COUNTERPLAY for both sides.

Also @TrueKn1ghtmar3 the 'center' of the screen for revealing GF isn't even the center; it's the bottom-middle, which is one of the reasons why it's so inconsistent. Because of this, there are plenty of cases where he can stalk you, but you can't reveal; him because he's crouching right next to you in tall grass. This isn't just the odd edge case, either - it's common and becoming increasingly moreso with each passing day as more players realise they can do this.

Everyone else exploiting things for quicker games like legion's bugs are alright then? Some people run it because they don't know and it's a part of their standard build. Easy fix? How about turning the add-ons off or taking them out instead of banning your players. Not all of those bans were entirely justified.

Obviously they should have turned the add-ons off temporarily; I really don't get why they didn't.

I didn't say it was ok, I'm just saying I can see why they'd prioritise banning for making the game LITERALLY ######### UNPLAYABLE over a bug which helps more than it should.

Remember, they didn't ban for pinky finger which helped killer a ton and they haven't banned for PWYF yet - if they ban for that, they will ban for Wake Up! as both provide a crap ton of free power, I'm not denying that.

  • Your fervent care of the Hooks found in the Basement has aroused the Entity's interest. The Basement Hooks are granted the following bonuses:

Basement camping builds don't need buffing; they need destroying - hooking in the basement should be some free pressure to buy you time, not a free kill.

And honestly? Hooking in the basement isn't that situational; a killer will usually finding themself hooking at least 1-2 people in the basement over the course of a single game, unless they get genrushed as a result of trouble exerting pressure on the survivors.

  • @Pike_Trickfoot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/545112#Comment_545112

The only ones getting repercussions are legion players. Devs have shown to be legion-biased.

Players who exploited a bug that made it literally impossible to play the game =/= legion players. Legion, Spirit, Hag are my go-to killers and I certainly didn't feel attacked when that message popped up in-game.

There was a sudden influx of people playing Legion with those add-ons, miraculously. And we all know why.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

@Sairek Honestly, I think protection hits being the requirement I can get behind. What I don't understand is why/how some actions that would be deemed as protection hits don't count. Seems like a half way baked idea.

They knew it would be finnicky; that's why they decided to make it just the same as WGLF; it's not often you'll get more than two stacks of that if you're playing efficently, after all - and two is being generous.

But that's where they went wrong; of course if it was manageable and survivors could get it off AT ALL and it was seen to happen, it would be complained about - it needed to have the number of people who could activate it reduced, which I said all along, long before it was nerfed on the second round of the PTB.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/544835#Comment_544835

Truth, I think this bothers me more than the actual bug.

Legion players got hit for using certain exploits to the point it was announced it big flashy red letters at the top of the forum.

    But concerning wake up? Silence.....

That's really starting to bother me.

Clown players didn't get repercussions for using Pinky finger when they only needed to be intoxicated to become exposed for over a month and PWYF is also bugged to be way stronger than it should be, in a similar vain to Wake Up!; let's not make this about developer bias when it's clearly not.

Also the issue with legion was also clearly much worse as it literally removed the ability for a survivor to play the game completely; they were stuck holding M1 for literal minutes and if they let go even briefly would be downed with a location ping for the killer, even if they were technically going into 'chase' sequence in that moment. It was game breaking and becoming increasingly common.

  • I recently hear there was a glitch with wake up where it makes you do actions faster and wanted to know if i would get banned for using it because wake up is one of the perks i normally use and i wanted to try and get the adept.

Not until we're told it is; same with furtive chase and PWYF.

  • So the new Mettle of Man requirement reads as follows:

It was known this would be an issue so they decided to render MoM bascially unuseable aboutside of organised 4-man SWFs, since they tend to get themselves into situations where protection hits almost always proc, rather than times where they should, and don't.

I vouche for removing protection hits and making it entirely safe hooks, limiting it to a max of 2 per game actually being used and potentially wasting survivor time fighting for that safe unhook stack between one another.

It should not have been made to protection hits when the devs themselves were very clear that they KNEW the coding for it had issues beforehand.

@GenSim12345 that is exactly what a bug is!

  • They improve with every patch to the point where there are games where survivors will literally destroy all totems but the hexed one, and they're not too rare. At the end of the day, the issue is that it has a large element of RNG to it.

  • @kabarekabal said:

His stalking needs fixing, it needs to be fair.

Survivor's reveal can get interrupted and his reveal timer gets reset, whereas ghostface can just continuously keep stalking you, and eventually gets an exposure on a survivor.

This. Plus either his add-ons are badly thought out or they're bugged; I ran one while exposed for TWO minutes yesterday and when I got hit was still exposed. Sad part is that I only got stalked because the player abused the reveal cancel that came with the buffer. Once all people playing GF realise it's there, which most already should, it will be causing huge issues especailly since on top of that the way you have to center him on your screen is awkward and he can stalk you in places you cant reveal him a hell of a lot. Needless to say I'm glad they're increasing the detection zone size...

  • So this new survivor perk is apparently now bannable and i have been using that for a long time to get more blodpoints during the double blodpoints and the event blodpoints and I feel like the devs need to say something like an notification about that this is bannable.

They won't ban anyone if they haven't notified both in the forum and in-game; they didn't for the Pinky Finger, and no one got banned for it, although I think most people respected it when they found out/when they used it only attacked when it would be a legit earned instadown since it's a skill anyway.

So far it's only happened with Legion in the time that I've played, and there were very clear warnings in-game.

  • Pretty much why I began running it; I've been stuck at lower ranks for a while thanks to a bug so every rank reset I notice the tunnel and camp get worse and worse - DS and BT are my defaults because there's basically no other option.

    @MartiH said:

Tunneling (and camping) is just SO unfun to go against. Especially when it's for literally no reason. If you don't have DS in these cases it's just GG.

I wish something was done about tunneling instead of doing the "let's fix this with a perk" that the devs do for any problem.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Well, this discussion has given me a new perspective. I am now going to play killer like i know they are not escaping without finishing the generators first, but i will give them a chance by just going for the savior instead. I think going for the savior is the best now because it allows the rescued survivor to have a chance to play and have fun, while also giving the savior the payoff for his bravery and altruism. I think the game needs to be darker though, maybe make it more stressful by making the maps darker and thicker mists like in the middle of a foggy night when an unstoppable serial killer is on the loose. These asymmetrical games are all about fun, because you can not balance the game 50/50 completely, so i think we should stop caring about winning and chill out a bit if it is getting too far and we forget other people's experiences. I would love to see the players of this game to be friendly to each other, and not make assumptions that everyone is a tryhard anymore so they go in to the game with the most used meta addons and perks. Yes sure both sides are going to be mad forever, but at least if we all played in a friendly, empathetic, and casual way we would have more fun and less stress at the end of a game.

I think the issue with darker maps is it will affect killers negatively, for the most part.

  • they didn't ban people for using the Pinky Finger add-on on Clown, which they took weeks to fix after it was made widely known the bug existed, so let's stop with this 'the devs are all heavily survivor sided and never think about the killers' BS, please.

It's an issue; it will be addressed and resolved, just as PWYF will be. Perhaps it could be faster, but for all we know they still haven't even found the source of the problem; programming is incredibly complicated.

  • @AshleyWB said:

Ghostygoo should tunnel the OoO and literally camp them if you need to. Teach them a lesson.

I mean every GF player camps and tunnels anyway...at least this way they get a target to chase down right away?

  • @ThirdSealOPplzNerf said:

If you want to take away tunneling or camping and then take away looping and reduce pallets to under 15 per map

Looping isn't an equivalent to camping and tunneling, but a side note is that pallets sure can be too many on some maps, while on others they're too far and between. All maps need reworks in that regard.

  • @CronaWins said:

Apparently, so i've heard, they changed the matchmaking to fix lower ranked players getting into higher ranked games, which results in longer lobby times.

Not sure if it's true or not.

I've been getting more and more red rank survivors in my killer lobbies, and I'm one of the people that have been suffering from the loss of pip progress bug for 3 months...definitely not true.

  • This. If it';s in all their games, they'll either be frustrated or bored of just having to gen rush the hell out of it and being FORCED to ruin Borrowed Time if they want a sliver of a chance to save the person on the hook.

If it's Leatherface though? Don't bother; he'll just down you both. And it's boring to play/watch, too...we all know it. You have to have no semblance of a life to main that, and I've encountered so many people who dedicate their entire time on the game to just that, but have been previously been banned for abuse etc, on other steam accounts.

    1. Obviously nobody right in their mind would stick to playing a game where the chances of having fun are low. -> The more they have no fun the faster they will leave the game.
    2. Getting camped and/or tunneled are as boring and unfun as not doing anything but gens. -> The more those games happen the more ppl are getting annoyed and bored and will leave the game.
    3. Non-brain users saying that it's an ok 'strategy' to tunnel and/or camp are ignoring two facts:
    • People that are experiencing tunneling/Camping nearly every game are likely to get bored and leave the game sooner or later. Sure some new players start every now and then but if nothing changes they'll leave as well.
    • Playing Killer is (at least till now) only possible with 4 others human beings. That currently need to be ok with playing that unwinnable game that is boring and a waste of time.

You people playing Killer like that (using tunneling and/or camping regularly and without any reason) need to use ur brain if u want to play this game as killer in the future.

Sure: Everyone can play the way they want but others want to play too so why ruin it for others? If u behave disrespectful and kill the fun of the game you are killing it for others in the future as well.

That is the same as knowing that something is killing our planet but still doing it. Use your brains goddammit... .

@Aari_Piggy66 I’ve actually had quite a few matches where he’s stayed at the hook trying to stalk / expose people who attempt to unhook. But it’s hard to say if its a Ghostface thing or simply because most of my matches are with offerings to get more BP. As I’m noticing an increase of camping killers recently.

But killers get less BP when they do that. xD

  • Yeah, pretty much he's designed to incentivise camping and it's incredibly hard to get him out of his stealth most of the time with that buffer abuse, giving him two free downs in a lot of cases when he does camp.

2 meters is plenty in choke points and when you're hiding in a locker. The problem seems to be that the stun happens after you jump out of the locker, so people can't get the timing right.

Not even that; often it just doesn't work when it should, and half the time it shouldn't work, it will. That is, the killer is almost never in front of the locker when the survivor leaves, and it will often stun anyway; sometimes they won't even have been in front of it at all to begin with, which seems to rule out ping being an issue with it.

1 … 39 40 41 42 43 … 45
