@TreemanXD I mean with his power he certainly could be 'strong', in a similar way that Myers can be, although if done right, easily better while still being pretty balanced. But the fact is that as of right now, he's too easy to counter with spoonfed information on his actions.
-
I didn't care for Scream or having the license; I heard what the power was and saw the design during the intial leak and was underwhelmed - it felt unoriginal in the context of DBD. But it did sound fun, I guess. In a memey way.
In the end, the way the power is intended to work is great, on paper. But it seems so buggy, and isn't usable except on potatoes. And that is not how you want your balancing.
Hell, even if you can physically see someone through corn, he can't even stalk them, yet people can cancel his power completely by looking in his general direction without any knowledge that he's there?
Plus the survivors get a very obvious audio notification when he begins to use his power, making them look around them if, you guessed it, they're not potatoes. It's too easy to counter. It's a case of handholding survivors with information VS a STEALTH killer in this scenario
-
Many survivor mains are enjoying MoM currently, i have taken a break from the usual killer to spam ash and MoM, it's quite good. Most would say it is too good.
This is a suggestion thast would be decent, imo.

@drunky26 I usually do some circling around the pallets before and after threw it down, some pointings, wavings... but somehow I feel like I'm toxic
Some, certainly fragile, killers perceive pointing as being toxic; essentially as a teabag.
I only use it as a scold vs tunneling killers, say if I tried to take the hit for someone I saved who decided to stay in the general area, and they still tunnel them despite me being a relatively easy first hit. (like a 'screw you')
Meanwhile if I don't do any of that and waste a lot of the killer's time when I actively tried to avoid going into chase in the first place, I'll often get the standard camp and regular hit. Though not happening much lately.

I disagree. I think this implementation of a battle pass makes sense and really well thought out. Fits the theme, is about the lore, and can be earned through gameplay, so probably bloodshards.
Also pretty sure tentative means release date.
Also baby Claudette.
Archives and the battle pass/rift are completely separate things.

But if you are running a slugging build you won't be wasting a perk slot on this perk. And most killers use bbq for points yes. And the option to give constant pressure, time not chasing survivors is time not breaking pallets and leveling the playing field into your advantage. And these gens that get stopped from being worked on is probably because there are no survivors near them and even if they are its 16 seconds, the plagues infection lasts 15 seconds and is so easy to just wait out with no reprecussions.
You realise it highlights which ones are stopped, right?
That means you KNOW is survivors are working on them when this perk activates; that's not a waste of a slot at all.
-
I imagine there'll be add-ons for his passive phasing when someone isn't in deep sleep; kind of like passive phasing on spirit. That would be cool.

bbq is still better and thats my point why essentially make the same perks but much weaker, bbq might not block gens but so doesn't thrilling tremors either if they are working on it. And also bbq will force survivors of the gens unless they want to risk getting spotted. Sp bbq does both of thrilling tremors effect but better and is the best bloodpoint farming perk in the game. it forces survivors of gens and finds them for you. thriling tremors does one of these thing either it finds the survivor for you (gen doesnt get blocked) or it blocks the gen from being repaired.
It would be better than BBQ in a slugging build, though, plus the fact that it both tells you where survivors are if they're working on gens AND stops other gens from being touched gives it its own use; let's be real - most killers only run BBQ for the BP's.
-
Just saying, Thrilling Tremors would be amazing on mobile killers and new Freddy would be included with that with his teleportation power.
-
@Mc_Harty I mean it's a different game; why would we compare to that?
-
It's supposed to be a team game where the survivors essentially tag in and out; I hate having blendettes in my game if I'm survivor or killer, because searching for an invisible urban immersion player is boring and having one on my team increases my chances of death by a large margin, even if I have a good game in terms of looping the killer, etc.
Sure, some of them do gens, but most are too scared to do them if they so much as HEAR the TR, even if they can see the entity's legs moving on the obsession on the bottom left.
I do agree there needs to be room for more playstyles, but that playstyle is just a means to let your team lose and give you a chance at a free escape. (unless, of course, there is a really good carry on survivor team)
Also as a killer, I find loops annoying but I don't hate survivors for it and at least I know I have SOME pressure on someone; adrenaline is annoying, but whatever; MoM I have no issue with.
So basically, I agree with you that there needs to be more for a survivor to do other than doing gens or looping; the introduction of new items with new effects could do that although I personally don't have any ideas. Flashlights and maps give new objectives, but it's very limited, and doesn't really deal with the fact that looping is the only way to survive vs a killer. (Though realistically, it's damn good for wasting killer time)

Billy: enduring, spirit fury, whispers and bbq
Spirit: sloppy, nurses, ruin and bbq
To me Spirit is more fun, but after the introduction of survivor perk Mettle of Man I have found myself playing less and less M1 killers, including Spirit.
I mean i keep playing red rank survivors with DS plus MoM and it's not giving me that much issue as, say, hag ,spirit, nurse, legion or plague. Don't play much of most other killers though; only when I have dailies, really.
-
Billy is better by miles; instadowns and whole map pressure will always win out.
But in terms of game design, spirit. High skill cap power plus lots of mindgames (though I don't like how the passive phasing is mostly RNG)

Sorry but ######### is this supposed to be https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/166/XD9XCBD72YUD.jpg As a killer i have to deal with SWF red ranks ok i can live with that but now this is really something diffrent those potatos did't even do a gen the whole game .
This is generally my experience when I play survivor. As killer I always get survivors multiple ranks higher than me, though.
@Mochan you get a ton of points for safe hook rescue and unless the killer is camping, they're not hard to do. that and being immersed in the killer's TR for a long time also gives you quite a bit.

And you start empathizing a little more.
While the original post is about teabagging, the overall issue is much bigger than that.
It's also about namecalling and verbal insults which often occur. Even if we assumed it was solely about teabagging - the meaning and intention behind it is what counts. And usually it's of toxic nature and done merely to mindlessly ruin another person's fun.
Perhaps even their day which they were actually trying to relax from by playing a game; you never know what kind of person is sitting behind the screen. And condoning bullshit like BMing - whichever form it takes - is being ignorant of this and insensitive. You're nothing more but a bully who - for some reason unknown to me - feels like they have to prove their meaningless, virtual joke of 'dominance' to someone.
Is your self-esteem so low you have to rub it into other people's faces by BMing or calling names and can't even follow a request to play nice that some people ask you for? Or simply accept that there are people different from you who do feel offended or hurt by certain things you might consider small?
Hurt or anger, for example, don't always feel the same for everyone in terms of intensity. Respect that.
Who are you to judge and tell someone they're oversensitive when you don't even know them and what's on their mind?
Victim blaming at its finest.
And while games and RL are obviously two different things, your personality doesn't magically change. You are you, no matter the instance. By which I mean that if you are an insensitive jerk to people on the web, you likely have no problems behaving similarly IRL. (The only difference is you can easier get away with it on the internet. Bless anonymity, hm?)
I could've worded all this a bit friendlier, but honestly, I'm too fed up with ignorant idiots at this current moment. I'm out of patience for people of this kind. You deserve everything of this calibre that's coming to you.
Can you please use the term 'victim blaming' appropriately, at the very least? No one is doing that here and it's offensive that you would use the term so liberally.

SenzuDuck I know your a survivor main and in all view points in your stream you favor survivors but really please dont come here and fight with someone in the thread. Not all killers are dicks to players and not all survivors are either but when survivors are sitting in the exit being a dick to the killer regardless of how the killer played most killers just want to move on to the next match. We are already going to have to wait 5-8 mins for the next match. Just leave and move on. Like I said I don't know how they could change the killer slugging the last player issue but I would like to see that changed as well. Like I said a bit more points for the late kill might make it more incentive to put the final person on the hook and move the game along as well. Its both side delaying the game that is the real issue.
You already get more points for actually hooking rather than letting them die by EGC. It doesn't make a difference.
@SenzuDuck I know all too well what it's like to actually play both roles and be split in this way. I wish more actually tried to see it from both sides.

I play by a rule I have made for myself during solos if the survivors manage to get down in 10 seconds I let them die. No point in saving a team that can't last 10 seconds when you can make a chase last a minute easily.
If I run BT at low ranks, that will easily buy me some time. Possibly an idea.
Being stuck at low ranks due to a bug, I can safely say that while stupid teammates do happen, it's definitely a very mixed bag. Best way to carry that rank is running BT and avoiding taking the aggro as people are often too scared to go for saves if they don't know the killer is already chasing someone...and you only know that if you see it or there's an obsession being chased right now... (latest live stream gives me hope on this front though!)
As mentioned above though, a potential solution to this issue is Kindred!
At higher ranks I like to run perks like bond so I know where people being chased are, or so that I'm in a chase, I know not to run the killer to a gen that's been worked on, for example, as that can harm everyone massively, buying the killer a fair bit of time. May be worth trying it at lower rank. Though I've found since prestiging, my luck with perks are horrific so I'm using farming ones for the most part.
@Raptorrotas the survivors are by definition a team, whether you like it or not.

Please bring back the pallet vacuum it was the only chance surivivors had against killers now the game is no longer fair please fix it.
I take it this is a joke.
That said, yesterday I played vs a wraith that got a free hit because for some reason as I ran through a pallet, I was pulled back onto the same side as him when I pressed space, despite having already passed it; it felt like a vacuum.
-
So I understand that current DS serve as a tool against filthy campers and tunnelers. Okay. I get and appreciate it. But old DS did it as well and even more.
No. Not fun for the obsession OR the killer. Current DS is fine; it acts as a counter-tunneling perk, and that's OK. Although I do wish there was a way for idiots that intentionally get caught to use it could be punished for playing that way.

Now that Legion has essentially been gutted I'm hoping we can see some actual power given back to him and see him evened out.
@almo I made a post with some suggestions that includes not necessarily even buffing legion himself, but giving him some genuinely useful add-ons since right now they're mostly pretty useless.

flashlight is fine. it requires skill and need to be placed in the right hands to get the best use out of it.
the only thing wrong with flashlights is their add-ons. they're ALL USELESS (batteries and low amp filament excluded).
most of the flashlight's add-ons need a rework. especially the ultra rare add-on
Idk, I like having lrger blind duration - it messes up a lot of killers...especially if you have iron will.

I've personally spent so much time trying to maximize the play experience of Legion. Going through addons isn't fun anymore. Most of his addons don't really work all that well. Once you run out of etched rulers, stolen sketchbooks, and iri buttons it feels like you don't have much left to play with.
Fuming Mixtape is interesting, but overall pretty meh. It's a tracking addon that would be better served on someone like Pig. Frank's and SWS are worthless as a combo and used separately. The blades aren't really useful due to the changes to deep wounds. Pin addons could be the best, but they are on second hit so they instantly aren't worth the time sink. Cooldown addons got nerfed heavily so that they aren't useful anymore. The killer instinct detection addons are just wasteful. That make little sense and I am under the impression that the way his tracking functions is malfunctioning due to needing to justify these addons.
Tier 3 Bamboozle helps with the vault speed issue, but not enough to keep players from vaulting back pass you. Short loops are a pain now when that is the sort of loop that should be in the killer's favor regardless of killer. I used to feel confident that I knew what was the best situation to use my power, but now it feels like most situations are just not worth it. Loss of scratch marks and blood during ff is just so damn annoying. When spirit loses her ability to track she also gains something. Legion loses the ability to track and isn't any better off. Put the blood tracking back. That would at least make it potentially worth trying the pin addons.
I have no idea what the plan going forward is, but it just unfun and stressful to be so throttled back and have nothing to show for it other than being able to go on power walks with trapper.
I've had the exact same experience; Bamboozle is a necessity where it shouldn't be, and you need to use his very rare add-ons or one of his ultra rares to actually feel like he's effective against anyone that isn't a potato.
And the sad irony is that he risks BT popping from far away if he uses the iridescent button add-on at end-game.
I actually had someone triuple my terror radius away get saved and run right at me, and found myself confused by the deep wounds effect which meant they tanked a hit and went through the exit - as far as I'm concerned that add-on shouldn't change the BT effect's range. (But I guess that's a very specific nitpick)
-

The whole point of Deep wounds and Legion is to stall the game for the survivors. They can’t do gems while affected by deep wounds. On top of that they have to heal from the injured state so they spend a lot of time healing and mending assuming you apply constant pressure with legions power. Deep wounds is fine as it is
Yes they can do gens while affected by deep wounds...that's even pointed out by the OP.

I agree. Unfun for both parties, IMO. Although certainly a step in the right direction....

I don't see why the devs haven't responded to this issue by so many; even survivors are questioning it.
-
@ReikoMori said:
To anyone having issues with the vault speed, which you should, run bamboozle. It brings the vault speed down to 10% from 25%. I've been running tier 3 bamboozle and it really makes a difference feel wise. Also the added bonus of shutting down window loops gives you more room to work.
I still don't like the complete loss of power on a missed attack. The power should just turn off while maintaining the remaining amount so you have a better recharge feel. The stun being blinding and long feels like overkill.
I use it as a necessity; really run using that plus iridescent button and getting someone into the killer shack and cornering them. It's hilarious.
Actually had a 3-man SWF rage quit when I did that to one of them, within about 15 seconds of a game...
His window vault speed is fine, however pallets should be a faster vault. Or his frenzy should move faster while maintaining the timer. One of the two.
As for losing his power; I wanted him to have punishment for missing, but outright getting a 4 second stun for doing it once? Hell no. Not a good idea. Especially with all the weird bugs that actually change killer's POV and sometimes force you to spam M1 for it to even be recognised by the game...
-
The scream should be enough since it's only a very short term effect.

Another idea: a passive that after someone has mended, it slows down their gen work for a few minutes.
(Maybe an add-on in the same vein as the chainsaw killers have?)
-
@ClogWench said:
That's a problem with the player not reacting to the survivors plays. There aren't an infinite number of short loops. Just break the pallet and deny the loop.
So go through a 4 second stun and THEN break the pallet, every time? On many maps there are almost always pallets at every turn - this is how you get looped for 3 gens.
-
Legion is only really useful with cooldown duration add-ons as well as frenzy duration right now; he's too easily looped while using his power.
That said, if multiple survivors are always near each other then it can be very effective to chain an attack and then follow the last person you hit with FF - this annoys the other, wastes a tiny bit of their time, and gives you some free damage if they don't bother to heal, which at higher ranks, is often the case.
Iridescent Button plus bamboozle is a fun mix, though. Definitely better to FF then M1; you can use it to body block the direction survivors are running, which is more effective with Joey's Mix Tape or Cold Dirt. The buttons are useless, don't bother.
You know that it's bad when the only time a killer is really viable is when you use very rare add-ons...
Plague depends on rank; vomiting on gens etc definitely helps with tracking, although at higher ranks survivors tend not to bother healing as it makes you supercharged - at this point, I recommend a perk like monitor and abuse to help get the jump on them and get easier first hits/make them more likely to make a mistake for the one hit you need; if they cleanse regularly then you're simply in for a great game - although don't go out of your way to get the upgrade as you want to ensure you're being efficient and have sight on a survivor/have a high pressure gen nearby that you're protecting.
As stated above, corrupt plague is also very effective at maintaining pressure if you have a hooked survivor. Multiple broken survivors also make for a prime time to power up, even if only to make them waste more time cleansing to avoid an instant-down.
-
See:
His speed in feral frenzy; I understand it not being super speed, but he can be looped very easily with it and unable to gain distance enough to get a hit without the iridescent button...either his speed needs to be increased in feral frenzy or he needs his vault speed reverted, imo.Ideally I'd like it if we managed to get one big thread going where people pithced ideas etc, so the devs are more likely to see it
-
Around a long time ago when Michael and hag was released you could hear survivors breathing super well and was amazing.
You can.
-
Both can be frustrating; both can be fun. If the survivors spawn together and they aren't a toxic SWF with instas and that jazz, (especially on big map) it can be a fun game....so long as I'm not running ruin and they haven't spawned with it (which I've found to happen a ton recently, sadly...and still had fun in most games)
-
Hpefully we can get a word on this soon.
-
Looks very much like balance testing; seeing if no perk/add-on survivors stand a chance vs no perk/add-on killers of similar skill level, and vice-versa. Hopefully this will lead to them dealing with the pallet/gen issue. We shall see when they post some results (they do seem to be a LOT more open about these things more recently after all)

I agree, but it would at least be a compromise to make those currently useless buttons have some use.
@LastShoe I mean that's not her base kit lol. The stun on her base kit is definitely necessary or she could just perpetually blink at you and catch up with no repercussions for a bad blink; she's already cancerous to play against as it is - without that...oof.

No, not as addons, he needs it for his base kit for him to be fun.
I agree he needs them for his base kit realistically, but the fact is that having them as add-ons, and providing the useless buttons with an actual use, actually have some use, would be some sort of compromise at least.
@LastShoe I mean that's not her base kit and tbh if she didn't have the base stun in her kit, she'd have no real repercussions for missing as she wouldn't have an issue catching up if she doesn't attack, lol.
-
@plu I agree completely. You waste so much time just catching up, to then get a 4 second cooldown, and its still more than 3 with cold dirt??
That wouldn't be so insane is cold dirt wasn't incredibly rare. by level 50 I'd found about 4 of them on my legion.
-
^Bump, yet again;
I really feel like a 4 second stun is incredibly unfair, especially when you put into consideration that a pallet stun is only 3 seconds: why not the same as a pallet stun; at this point it gives waaayyy too much distance.
-
Can we point out that pallets stun you from farther now?
What do you mean by 'now?'
It hasn't changed; it's always been an issue in my experience. Does nee fixing, but no word for at least 6 months
-
^bump
Another addition:
Replace the useless button add-on effects with things such as the aforementioned effects.
As it stands, using the effects of the buttons just gives the survivor a speed boost while stunning the Legion player for way too long.
-
People claiming that using MoM effectively requires 0 skill, lol.
Because escaping 3 times with only one hit means it totally rewarded bad play throughout the game, totally.

If you live on a small Island somewhere and you are the only player of this Island, you will most likely not get a Server there.
I'm aware, but my issue is they haven't addressed this since it was found to clearly not have appropriate servers on the PTB for quite a few very populated areas, such as Australia.

@SunderMun . . . 😶there's a LEGAL aim bot in dbd? mother of god . . . why is this a thing.
Yeah, no idea why. I guess it helps brand new killers, and it's not going to 180 turn you but it sometimes causes you to land hits you clearly missed, and other times it'll cause you to miss hits you were directly aiming at point blank.
Although honestly, I find it makes me miss a ton more than it makes me hit...I'd sacrifice those I didn't really earn, in order to be consistent with the game, happily.
(like sometimes if you chase someone to a hooked survivor, and they go to save, yuo swing, it'll randomly decide to turn you toward, and hit the hooked survivor - it causes them to get the save and removes a lot of map pressure, for something that isn't your fault...or when you're near a tree, you lunge to the side of it, and it decides to hit the tree)
