  • A lot of people just randomly spam it tbh

  • Multiverse? my understanding was the entity can take people from whatever world it pleases.

Also this is a different Ghostface too, potentially from another realm to the movie version.

  • Honestly it's just a sign of the meta; M1 killers struggle because gens get popped super quick and they don't have mobility tools to help them apply pressure and avoid it. Either maps need to be reduced in size or we need to see a means of making killers more mobile without necessarily changing the lethality/power of their core kits.

Of course, the map reworks could turn out to be just enough...but they're coming super slow (though honestly I love what's been done with Badham; Haddonfield should be great too, I hope since it truly is a problem map)

I'd be curious to see what might be done about a certain coldwind maps, for example, in which Billy is incredibly oppresive but the other killers struggle severely since it's just so big.

Will be cool to see more Freddy too, since now he can exert pressure so much more easily.

  • Higher ranks do seem to have increased use of Noed whereas lower ranks seem to be using it much, much less. it's a weird experience. (PC)

  • Map reworks first, and then appropriate killer balance changes, please...except in the case of glaring issues such as Legion (and Freddy 1.0)

Not gonna lie - I hate rank resets. I 4k in 3 minutes, black pip at best and get little blood points. Very exciting and fun... Not. Most games feel like a waste of addons.

And as solo survivor you die after running the killer for minutes because you get matched with people hiding all game while you're getting chased. Very exciting and fun... Not.

Tell me about it but hey, at least you'll get to rank out of this hell...I've deranked all the way from red ranks the past few months as the only time the game will happily change my rank is rank reset; otherwise it just crashes me out of the game. Rank 18 now btw. :)

I hate bullying baby killers who are actually in the correct rank for themselves.

(interestingly, it doesn't always affect my killer rank so I can rank up there, thankfully...)

I punched you in the face. But I didn't hospitalize you, so it's okay.

Intentionally exploiting bugs is intentionally exploiting bugs. Therefore, all cases of exploiting bugs should be punishable, no matter the severity or the context behind it. Otherwise you are sending this very grey message of "yeah okay, exploiting some bugs is okay."

No, it should be black and white. Exploiting is not okay and should never be okay.

I never said exploiting was OK. They've only claimed to ban people for one exploit, ever.

Yet this community is hellbent on telling the devs they're being biased against killers for not banning for others, when there are relevant bugs that help the killer theyre not banning for too.

You can arguably say you couldn't play the game as killer if the entire team was using it. One severely made the game too fast. One made it entirely too slow. Both are broken in their own right. Legion bug was based on two addons the perk was used game after game.

You could avoid a hit from FF not group up. They were the same type of bug just opposite effects.

Although, the clown bug I didn't know about. However, I find it funny that when people complained wake up wasn't a problem I said what if devour hope or noed or similar ran the entire game. XD I got my wish I guess >.>

No. You could physically move and still chase people and down them; plenty of people won vs SWF's that ran it, it was stressful and should have been hotfixed sooner, but it was categorically NOT the same.

Right. You could avoid it by not grouping up, except old Legion could travel decent distances much faster in FF and it was incredibly easy to ensure you hit. What players did was hit one person with it and then run off to find others, to make sure that length got really long REALLY fast, and it wasn't hard. Old Legion was a guaranteed 1 person in DW having to mend, and with that bug that meant zero counterplay. Gens being done really fast can be countered by exerting tons of pressure. (Again, it clearly was TOO fast but it did not remove the ability to exert said pressure)

  • @Jdsgames said:

Can someone explain to me how wake up was not game breaking but the legion bug was?

Legion Bug: Made it impossible for survivors to mend likely resulting in death.

Alert along with other perks due to bug made the game speed up to practically be gg instant win. So the killer always lost.

So Legion Blades: Survivor practically ggez you lost. (Addons consumed)

Wake Up Perk: Killer practically ggez you lost. (Perk not consumed)

You couldn't play the game if hit by the blade, and back then it was also impossible to avoid taking a hit from FF.

Wake Up! was not simply a win by its use, but was a major advantage. As with a number of other bugs that popped up over time after blade bug 1.0, such as the legion blade bug 2.0 in which the blades had the same issue as Wake Up! in which they caused all actions to be slowed for the entire game once hit once, or the pinky finger bug that meant the clown didn't need to skillshot to get the exposed effect off.

  • Wake Up bug was ridiculous but not directly game breaking; the first legion blade bug absolutely WAS game breaking, whereas the second wasn't, and they didn't make a message for it. Same for pinky finger and PWYF.

The sprint burst bug isn't as anywhere nearly as bad as the others mentioned were.

The bug works as intended most of the time; you have to do something specific to make the bug happen (and I don't know nor care to know what that is) and even so it isn't an unlimited use bug - it's still exhaustion based, plus many people will look like they're using it when using the standard trick of running with it 99% and when the killer gets close, walking for a moment and then running again to use the perk for distance. It doesn't really change the game all that much. (But should be fixed, although I think having more control over the use of an exhaustion perk would be nice...at least for lithe, which I find to be useless outside of QnQ plus DWM combo)

  • Legion, but they don't even need a major buff. A couple of minor buffs plus a few add-on changes to make them actually have a god damn use and they'll be golden

Clown doesn't loss speed on bottle toss or walking around while holding a bottle ready to throw. He only slows down when he needs to reload. Also considering addons like Flask of Bleach and Solvent Jug are go to addons for the clown that aren't super hard to come by you can expect to be hindered for longer than the base 2 seconds.

Also clown isn't the worst killer in the game by a long shot, but he's nowhere near A-tier. He's directly in the middle. His biggest weakness is lack of map pressure, but he's average at literally everything else.

He does slow down when holding a bottle out; it's just not much. I think he becomes a 110 killer while holding it out, or so it feels.

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Clown is worst killer in the game imo

We have Legion in the game. Clown isn't close to having those issues.

  • @Theluckyboi said:

Man, just get to higher ranks, you will find no face campers there

You can not punish it because despite it being scummy and experience ruining its still a valid tactic

That's not true; my experience holds that the lowest ranks and the highest ranks are exactly where the campers lie.

  • I haven't ever had issues using Leatherface's saw since my first ever game using him.

Billy's saw is definitely harder to use, but I don't think it takes a lot of skill either. And for base Billy, that's absolutely fine.

  • Hi, I don't play survivor too much, but my build when I do is DS, Self-Care, Botany and Sprint Burst.

Nope, not anexploit. But apparently there is an exploit with Spinrt Burst where you can run around without using it and essentially toggle its use even if you're not exhausted. This may be what the players assume you were doing. But the wy you say you use it is pretty standard play for that perk in all honesty.

  • Ah that will only happen with a combination of 2 specific add-ons; I saw it happen once where a teammate went to two boxes instantyl with no interruptions and before getting to the third, it was over. Ridiculous and hilarious. The pig we played against only used that combo because they were prestiging though.

Also I don't think you know how it works; it doesn't decide when you're at a box if it is the right one. In fact, the game decides which box has your key when the trap is placed on your head. That's just general luck, not in-game RNG.

Lithe + QnQ are my favorite.

I tried Head On for a while, but found out that it only works about 1/4th of the time. Awful perk.

Should see it on the PTB <3

  • For me: 1° A camper Cannival 2° Michael Myers (if they know how to use him, cause of his reach)

    Either a 'good' (see: has more an 1 hour on them) Nurse since there's no counterplay there;

or Ghostface because the reveal is buggy as all hell.

  • Gt the feeling this is because they assume the person will then be tunneled off anyway and they'll then be in the crosshairs of the killer. Especially true for billy, GF, bubba, nurse after all.

  • Oh, I heard this bug is back; they also can't interact with anything, even the hatch if they find it - it used to be before the EGC that they were forced to either DC or let the killer hook them.

It also sometimes leads to the killer being invisible for them...

  • Lots of variance but BT is always there as it's basically a necessity and if I use an exhaustion perk, unless I'm meming, it's almost always going to BL.

I've found recently I've been needing to counter tunneling a lot so I've seen a lot of use out of DS in recent days.

Other than that, if I'm trying to farm up: WGLF, Prove Thyself, Plunderer's, Ace in the Hole.

Simply because I need BP's and I'm hording with Kate. (plus the number of styptics that I've found and gifted to other survivors randomly is pretty high and they've led to some amazing wins)

@SunderMun So in Season 1 the show takes place in 1980 (She is 12 Years old), in Season 3 the show takes place in 1985 (She is now 17).

You can search it up. Actually the show tells you what year it is in the first episode.

In that case she would either be 15 or 16; its 1984.

However you're wrong - season 1 begins in 1983 and there's not much of a timegap between seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 is explicitly stated as 6 months later at the start, too.

nevermind, season 3 is 1985, I got confused since the beginning before it skips 6 months is actually in 1984, but the first season is definitely november 1983. 2 years later would make her most likely 14.

  • @Grim said:

    @Acromio what a meme.

@SunderMun that's exactly the thing. No good Spirit phases straight away or for very long. They use it often and in short bursts in response to what you do. If I were to slowly walk away, that's when they simply begin the phase and hit me. My only real option is to guess and hope the Spirit messes up.

My problem with using Iron Will is that it's quite like "just use Bamboozle," which doesn't solve anything. It's just a band-aid.

@miaasma I feel like a lot of people are sick of weaker killers, so tend to forget that there are balance issues on both ends of the spectrum.

That's what I was referring to; in that case you should walk one way slowly and then it's a game of 'did they see me change direction' if you then change direction when you think they should have actually phased. I get that it's difficult, but it's definitely doable - just takes a lot of learning.

  • Steve or Joyce. I'd prefer Joyce. Don't like the idea of Hopper.

Billy could be the killer if not a demogorgon, to keep it with the humanoid theme.

  • @Auriella I'll give you that lol. She'd be cool too, but idk, I still prefer Joyce. Enough of Hopper, too, I'm not a big fan.

  • Happens a lot when people chase you for them to go for the save; face directly on them with zero obstruction and it'll turn your camera 90 degrees to hit the person on the hook allowing for a free BT unhook with zero repercussions.

  • Useless power????? Lmao there's a reason she's considered among the top 3 killers.

She does have counterplay; it's just MUCH harder to learn than for a Spirit player to learn how to use the power effectively, which is fine IMO; it's not like she can use her power constantly like the Nurse.

Much as I hate to say it...if you come across them a lot, I'd start running Iron Will as a default. It's an overrated perk, but consistent vs the Spirit, allowing you to actually play the mindgame rather than giving away your location.

One time I played against survivors and they were confused as to how they could have played against me and I explained pretty well; they didn't know how to play against the fake haunting use, and I explained the best thing to do would be so walk slowly away, not keeping the same direction you initially did (as the killer may see it and work out where you're going otherwise) rather than risk me appearing on the other side of the pallet or them slow vaulting the pallet, thinking they've outplayed me, only to find that I was faking it and getting grabbed. That's another element of counterplay for a specific situation.

No reason? Why? Because legion gets looped? and Nurse ignores everything? I get the exploit. But like all exploits, it shouldnt nerf the whole playerbase because minority was exploiting it, like moonwalking. It should only fix the exploit.

Im gonna say it again. Limit of missed attack should be one or two and the limit resets everytime you hit a survivor not affected by DW. Its not even the players fault for missing sometimes. It is just unnecessary to lose your whole gauge and get a 4 sec stun for missing.

OR you could make it so that Lunge has the miss penalty, but a quick m1 attack does not put you out or harm you in anyway. M1 doesnt give MS anyway, so it cant be exploited.

Yeah I always called for it to just have a penalty for missing; not for it to completely cancel your power and use it up, as they stated it would do in the patch notes - I knew that change was too much with everything else adding up.

Yeah the TR thing fixed the exploit, I don't get why so many things happened to further weaken a power that they made non-lethal anyway. (I'm fine with the lack of lethality - it didn't change my playstyle, but it sure as hell didn't need to feel like a chore to use at all)

And yeah pretty much; she ignores the rules of the game, whereas Legion is an M1 killer. Why should they have a larger stun duration on their power, which also isn't even lethal, when the Nurse has one that is 25% shorter??

  • I have to be honest, if we get a Stranger Things survivor, I want it to either be Steve or Joyce. I love the idea behind the perks but I do agree with others re: the numbers being really strong.

  • Sadly losing all your power gauge if you miss an attack with FF is intended. Because before, you could spam it and it was abused since there was no repercussion for missing.

Nurse's stun is 3 seconds and she's the most mobile and deadly killer in the game; no reason The Legion can't have the same CD, tbh.

I have to agree as well; I used Legion with the intended playstyle before the balance changes and the fact is that I found it much easier to secure kills by playing in this fashion as a 110 killer than I do now as a 115 killer.

  • I had a bug before the hotfix where I ran a ghostiface who insta-stalked me at the same time as I pulled him out of stealth (at the start of the game, so there wasn;';t any progress already) I ran him for 2 minutes while exposed and the timer didn't go down properly so he still got to one shot me. No idea if that can still happen under specific circumstances, but that was incredibly frustrating.

As well as this, he promotes camping and revealing him is buggy as hell, especially with the buffer change since he can abuse that while leaning and all the survivor can do is RUN because he keeps all stalk progress until he hits you. It just doesn't feel well thought out at all.

  • Gen grabs, as any killer, are very satisfying; my latest version of that was Using rusty shackles to get someone off a gen at the very start of the match;

    Coming across toxic teams with object etc trying to mess with me and mindgaming the hell out of them;

Finding some love letters on my steam profile from survivors that I killed. ( I love the camper/tunneler messages because I know I specifically go out of my way to get a new target so they have to waste some time)

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

@SunderMun Eleven is actually 17 in the show. Same age as Quentin in Nightmare on Elm Street.

    No she's not; she's 14.

  • Having to use 3 perks to counter tunneling killers? Hell. No.

  • Mindflayer as a killer could be really damn cool.

Eleven is too young to be a survivor, but I could see them using Winona Ryder's character for it. Or Mike's big sister/the kids' 'mother' ;) Would be cool. not the most humanoid though for killer...unless they used the latest version of the demogorgon, or even Billy...?

  • Youtube. What more is there to do?

I get to tell a story!

So, currently we have a large play population that uses MLGA, a network traffic sniffer, to see who their matched against in terms of player. Now this program allows you to create lists of people's screen names so it can tell you when you're in that person's lobby. They say this is to just create whitelists of people with stable connections. Yet, in reality a lot of the time they were just making blacklists of killers they didn't want to play against for reasons that aren't even remotely proper. This resulted in lots of lobby dodges and increased queue times so the devs had to put MLGA on their blacklist in an attempt to curve usage.

The reason you don't get to see the name or the killer chosen is because people can't help but try to cherry pick their competition. You hook a survivor early in the game before they get a chance to start a gen? Blacklisted. Don't give the hatch? Blacklisted. Don't spend the game farming because of an early dc? Blacklisted. Played defensively against overly altruistic survivors while you were on hook?Blacklisted. Many more non toxic situations occur than actual toxic situations, but since people love to get in their feelings and be childish they do things that mess up key components like matchmaking. They have to be held in check.

They removed it from their whitelist not because of how it was used, but because of how it could be used with respect to dodgy things like showing the IP address of the person whose lobby it is, not because people dodged lobbies.

At least that's how @Peanits reply to a thread read to me yesterday.

  • @xEa said:

Because as a survivor you should not know who you are up against. There are some ppl who play like 1-3 Killers exclusivly. Once you see his name you would know which killer you are facing.

There are some people that use the same perk combination everyh game. Once you see their name, you would know which perks you're going against.

  • @TrueKn1ghtmar3 said:

I dont dodge toxic survivors, I block them to avoid being matched with them again survivors can do the same

I don't believe blocking stops you from getting people in the same lobby as you. I've had people I've blocked in my games numerous times.

Probably more likely you're in a more densely populated area for players so you find those people less anyway.

  • So why are killer names not listed in Lobby? I mean I get why the killer they select isn't but why are their names not?

Ironically that we would avoid toxic killers or laggy killers that conveniently only lag in-game and not in the lobby screen is exactly why they wouldn't allow it. Only killers are allowed to dodge people they don't like seeing. ;)

you need proof of an anecdote? i didn't record myself playing killer and survivor today, but i know killer yielded more points over similar time periods because of how much i was able to spend between games

i don't really care enough to prove this to you, i kind of think it's evident enough. think what you want though

Can confirm; my default build as survivor involved WGLF, BT, Prove Thyself, mostly for BP and safe hooks (which amounts to more BP in the form of WGLF stacks)

I don't run BBQ on all my killers like, say, hag or spirit, while I do often with legion, for example, but I always end up with more BP after a game with killer, regardless of my use of BBQ or not. And not just a minor difference; at least 10k more, as a rule. Because I'm not fighting with 3 other people for limited points and with the emblem system, I find it messes with survivors more (except in the case of total stomps by killers) when winning 10 chases in a row but getting downed and hooked on the 11th drops you from iridescent to silver chaser points sometimes.

As for use of the farming perks in general; WGLF has no use except to farm, and the stacks are ridicuously hard to get without giving up a ton of pressure to the killer's side and running an anti-tunneling perk, plus you have to take into account that you're fighting for the stacks; there are only 8 unhooks possible per game and protection hits unless all survivors are swarming the killer are usually a death sentence/throw for survivors. Meanwhile BBQ stacks are gained naturally by the killer simply doing their objective and it's one of the best tracking perks in the game, to boot.

  • Yes. this is my exact experience and it's just insane that this is what we got.

  • Seriously im barely under rank 10 (8 to be exact) and every match i get is ranks 4-2 like ######### where are all the purple ranked survivors?

I find this to be the case in Oce, however tbh I've not been having trouble with the red rank survivors I've been getting this month.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    Tier3 3% x 4 survivors = 12%

    Your own 4% + 12% = 16%

This 16% chance x 3 times self-unhook attempt is 48%. I think its guarantee success for everyone. Well if 4 survivors run it, and its only happen for SWF

    You got that wrong; probabilities don't multiple like that. it would be (16%) + (84% x 16%) + (84% x4% x16%) = 0.16 + (0.84 x 0.16) + (0.84 x 0.84 x 0.16) = 40.7%

But honestly a perk that only affects luck is trash anyway unless they rework the stat.

  • Nope. Blink to a corner and then blink to readjust for survivor action; takes a few hours to practise/learn how it feels, then it's done with.

  • Prologue The update size is getting ridiculous because what you see below:

Chances are it's more to do with laying some grounds to make future updates much smaller; other games have it happen every year or so, such as Overwatch in my experience.

If the game is installed onto your console you can also end up with corrupted files for definite; just because you don't mess with them doesn't mean nothing can happen, sadly. Save files are known to do this a lot even if unchanged for months sometimes.

  • Constantly being able to glide across the map by chasing down your new obsession is incredibly easy; not just a minor benefit but a pretty big advantage and the free downs are very comparable to the Wake Up! bug that came with it.

1 … 38 39 40 41 42 … 45
