Nah,he's really really loud and i think it's rather easy to keep track of him

Except he's not that loud...and the range of his lullaby effect is incredibly short considering his speed and lethality.

In the PTB, sound was a lot better with him. In fact, you could work out where he was on a loop by sound alone...but something's changed going to live, so it's not the case.

The chase music that the Oni heard before is his old music from the PTB, now you hear what the survivors hear when you are in a chase.

Oh, i didn't even realise. I thought it was the same lol

  • Sounds about right. Pity that the Twins one is the case seeing as they're much better right now than people are saying and are obscenely good at playing scummy.

We can all agree this patch was a complete train wreck, bugs and glitches everywhere, the killer is unfinished and the new perks on both sides are pretty much dysfunctional.

But let's look on the bright side,

Oni and Demogorgon can finally hear their own chase music!

No more are the days of hearing Demo's 8m TR or Oni's PTB Chase music during chase, now we get some REAL fire.

I'm confused, I remember always hearing Oni's chase music as Oni?

Like I said before it's a theory they are doing it to keep survivors from being good. If they change it one more time I'm gonna believe it.

I agree, tbh. Don't get me wrong, my first flashlight attempt on the new update I successfully got the save, but honestly, it's not consistent anymore.

Awww I was just thinking about how nicely these perks would work together, but I don’t have enough unlocked to test it yet.

Imagine: 2 lockers side by side. Run past and use Deception on the first, then leap into the second with Q&Q and start charging up your Head On. Killer checks the first locker, and by the time they’re done, BAM!

Hopefully the better integrate Deception with Q&Q once they attack their full plate of bug fixes.

Yeah, that idea does work, it's just possible that it bugs lol

  • @gatsby said:

I've been playing with it today and I keep having weird things happen with it. Does the perk work consistently for most people?

I want to know if I'm messing it up and getting locker sucked because I'm bad or if its genuinely bugged. Like most Survivors, I button mash when I want to do an action so maybe I'm just subconsciously pressing the button multiple times idk

It works very consistently for me. I don't button mash, though. At most, I hold space when I go for a running vault.

I've managed to bamboozle a bunch of killers today with it, although most just expect it for obvious reasons.

That said, my friend ran it with Q&Q, and the first time they tried to use it in a game, for some reason they ended up fast vaulting into the locker despite the fact they were running. The rest of the game it worked fine for them.

    @OldHunterLight you're thinking of Oppression!

  • SURVIVOR MAINS HOW DO YOU DO IT?

How do you keep playing through the endless BS some killer players throw at you nearly EVERY MATCH. GGEZ if they win, Endless cycle of excuse on top of excuse if you win.

  • *in general. I struggle to play my main killer because using Blight's power causes my frames to drop massively.

  • @Zesty said:

Right ok... You probs think im crazy for saying this but i believe the twins are a high b at leastttt...

Ok so number 1 not alot of people know this but she actually has VERY STRONG anti loop... How is this you may ask. Well to put it simply, you get an m1 on the survivor, you then body block either the window or pallet with charlotte... Then unleash victor and the survivor is either forced into a dead zone.. or forced to loop with a window (which is something that victor can deal with easily)

HOW are people not seeing the anti loop and area denial with this killer...

They are also very good at camping... I wouldnt recommend this stat however as its quite boring tbh...

I just think people should try out my strat above and let me know how you get on...

Oh also one more thing. Victor is very good at controlling areas... Like gens especially 3 gen strat... my god almost no chance of winning...

I hope people read this post so that they can stop using victor at spawn :D Its a waste of time and by the time you get to the survivor half way across the map.. They are probably going to be healed...

REMEMBER always m1 if you can first.. Then unleash victor and use charlotte to block at strong/weak loops....

I love this killer so much and i know people want to love then too... So please give my strat a chance...

    <3😁

Let me know how you get on :)

Been against 6 Twins players. All have more or less done as close to facecamping as the game allows them to do. One decided to literally facecamped me while hitting me in the basement because I had the audacity to do a generator while they didn't bother pressuring me right next to them...and they rage quit when a teammate had BT to counter it. As entitled as one can be.

Their map pressure potential is insane, (and I love that) but it's too easily used for such a problematic means as camping and tunneling.

  • @tj0108 said:

######### is this new angle? Once again bhvr ruined something that didnt need to be changed. There was ZERO reason to change flashlights and the way they work. Why did yous have to make them 20x harder to use?

It's not even a new angle, because the beam ######### moves in a random and incredibly exaggarated manner.

The devs need to stop changing it every patch and honestly revert the latest one.

  • We don't actually know exactly what state they're in right now, but the only way for them to further tune the power of the Twins is for people to use them in the most optimal setting.

Also, remember that you can always buy the characters through Iridescent Shards, which you earn through playtime rather than money.

    I chased someone else

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D1HNEFXAGTYA/unknown-54.png

I only saw Dead Hard all game. They didn't even get a gen done.

    Uncounterable btw.

(Yes, I know that these perks are incredibly problematic when combined together, giving the killer little counterplay to them. However little counterplay is still counterplay. If Spirit has counterplay, so do these perks.)

    I agree.

Actually, the issue I feel they have is that they're too punishing to solo survivor play, meanwhile still countered in the same way as killer is in general countered: by having survivors split up around the map, pressuring multiple generators.

This has me feeling like it's more a problem with the ranking system (or lack thereof) putting survivors who don't know how to play optimally in a game against killers that are running a build designed entirely to go against the most organised and optimal teams.

  • @Spirez said:

Wow in 80% of games at red ranks there is DS I hope the devs are looking into this too. While they’re at it how about also Dead hard, borrowed time, iron will, and unbreakable.

    See how ridiculous that sounds.

Thats what you sound like making this post.

Also keep in mind two of those killer perks can be erased from the match at the start of it. After that tinkerer becomes more of a “look what gen you’re about to lose”.

That would imply only a 20% usage rate...

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

This map couldn’t be any more survivor sided, next to Haddonfield!!!

No matter how hard you try to control the centre and one side, just one stuff up, and the next thing you know, the map is sub divided, and then you may as well AFK for the rest of the match.

You're meming right? It's one of the most killer sided maps (right above Shelter Woods) because it's so easy to protect one side and sometimes one side can spawn 5 of the 7 possible gens...

@jdcabral which side has more pallets is entirely down to RNG, but normally, what you state is true.

  • It's verb format, going by context as in you are Monitoring and abusing. Therefore, ab-yooz.

I be guess. I’ve played a bunch of weekend and it’s been months since I’ve seen a mori let alone three in a row all with different killers

Sounds like you're lucky, tbh. Every session I play has multiple moris.

  • Best stealth killer in the game.

    Needs a major rework, tbh.

  • If they're console killers, they usually have pretty bad ping because they're using WiFi, and the wireless card really isn't good on them for some strange reason. (May be different for new gen, idk)

Also if you're in EU, it could be russians who the devs refuse to give their own server even though it's pretty unfair to survivors going against these killers, and unfair to russian survivors having to play with around 100 ping.

As well as this, I find about two thirds of my games, the killer is VPNing in EU.

I agree it makes no sense that favour the shooter is so extreme in this game; it does exist in other games, but I've not seen it to this extent since Overwatch on release with Roadhog hooks and certain DPS heroes. (And that still was nowhere near this level...)

  • They want you not to try and survive, basically. If you do, you're toxic.

  • I don't keep seeing these posts; only those of people saying it's not OP but not giving the actual reason why it's not and instead telling survivors to waste time running around and only do totems until Ruin is gone...which is literally the win condition for the killer running these perks.

  • As survivor in red ranks, it depends on the day and time. Can range from a few seconds to about 2-3 minutes. Neither is that bad, imo.

As killer, in red ranks it ranges too. Often very quick to almost instant, but very late at night could take between 10-20 minutes.

I'm on PC, EU with crossplay turned on.

  • I'm actually torn. On the one hand, DbD, for all its flaws, is an amazing game that right now has no serious competitors.

On the other hand, it has no competitors...so as long as they churn out content, without focusing on game health, they will maintain a steady playerbase for a long time to come, and that is exactly what has been happening.

As well as this; content is churned out very quickly, but when it's licensed, it's not there for the amazing gameplay for both sides - it's there to bring in fans of a particular franchise and rake in more money (which is fine, but it's not healthy to have half the content be this style)

However, the original content it's clear that coming up with ideas they had great ideas overall, even if at times it felt like they just didn't recognise the most obvious issues with what they release (think lockers countering the Twins, holding Victor hostage, etc) that even average players were able to point out after mere minutes of playing.

    On the one hand, they're doing everything they can do get new players into the game;

On the other, they're pushing new players away with things like daunting amounts of grinding, to the fact that right now, this game, with all DLC's, will cost you around £100 if you don't get any of it on sale.

There really are aspects that I look at and think 'hey, this is really great and feels like they had fun with this idea,' and then I hear certain representatives speak with such disdain for the people that fell in love with their game, but are worried about certain things, and some content feels forced to boot.

And this is me not talking about their incredibly slow(and sometimes non-existent for certain problematic aspects of the game) balance, which, admittedly, they seemingly have improved at dealing with in the last couple of patches (which truly inspires hope)

Just like killer has zero information about survivor movements on high wall loops?

Uh, sounds are in the game for a reason. Don't get me wrong, half the time they're broken, but they are usually functioning enough to work out where a survivor is moving around, especially on outdoor maps since grass rustling seems to always work.

High wall loops are actually better for M1 killers since they allow the killer to play with their red stain, and so make it easier to trick a survivor into taking a hit or being forced to drop a pallet. This is why they made it almost impossible to see through the loops on Coldwind consistently a year or so ago; there was no ability to mindgame because the survivor could keep track of the killer through entire loops, even on tiles like pallet gyms that are incredibly powerful even without this issue.

  • Because it's a perk that assumes you're going to lose and exists entirely to reward bad play that would lead to the loss with an incredibly easy endgame.

  • Since you say she was a blendette, it could be that her model was in front of the lights?

  • Only heal if you can do so very quickly (such as having a dedicated build or an insane medkit) or are on death hook.

Don't drop pallets unless you're already injured. This renders the legion an incredibly bad M1 killer.

If you're near teammates, go somewhere else and continue to be productive.

The best part is that, because of the proximity of servers to Russian players, a lot of the time it's not actually a bannable offence because Russian players just have a naturally high ping. it's not their fault, or ours, it's just their location to the servers. Then we have to grin and bear it.

I've been playing with my American friend recently and even he agrees that we, in EU, have a problem with high-ping players, be it console or Russians or VPNers. It's actually sad.

I've literally just gotten out of a game with a Billy who chainsawed me around corners. Checked post game, Argentina, admitted to playing knowing he had high ping and tried to get to EU servers. :)

Yeah, with russians it's annoying but they're not cheating. The devs just refuse to give them a good connection so they get boosted up the ranks.

  • @JoeyBob said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1770932#Comment_1770932

You can't tell if someone is using a VPN (kinda the point of VPNs). Poor connection can also be from other factors. Not possible to ban people for it because of that.

You can. If their location is clearly not in the same continent (their profile is usually the biggest tell for this) as the server they're on, and they were laggy, it's very clear they're using a VPN. It's incredibly easy to pin this down.

  • @JoeyBob said:

It is dedicated servers. But if you can still abuse VPNs as killer I believe. Tried it once a while back just to see how it worked and ended up hitting survivors through pallets when I shouldn't of been able to.

It was janky though (high lag).

Yeah, EU server more than half the killers I come across (about two thirds) are using a VPN from all over. (: It's practically unplayable some days lol. They even defined it as cheating but refuse to punish for it.

The devs need to stop being useless on this topic and actually start banning people for using a VPN to cheat, because it's ridiculously common right now. It's not hard to tell, either.

  • We know exactly what would happen if that occurred, and it would legitimately break the game to have the ability to counter camping and tunneling removed from survivors.

  • @gondolator said:

Yeah i play in EU. But 5 VPN Players in a row when I had no such issue ever before. Kinda unlucky then

My first session after rank reset, 2 thirds of the games were VPN killers.

  • Could be you've been going against VPNers. if you play on EU servers, you almost certainly get one every other game as it is. Also console killers tend to have higher latency because of the hardware they use for wifi connection. That often means you get some interesting hits.

Apparently, Remi Racine, CEO of behaviour, abolished crunch time.

If that's true, then that's good. But I don't trust much of what their suits say given their penchant for outright lying and blatantly going for greed.

  • @Rivyn said:

I was actually going to make a thread similar to this. This killer's issues are pretty plain to see. Heck, PTB players figured them out within hours. How long as the killer been in the devs hands? Few months, at least? How could they not see the problems? All this does it cement my impression that the devs either A) Don't playtest themselves and/or B) really are lower ranked in terms of skill and don't/can't play at the higher end. So, I agree with ya on that.

Remember the match Cote had against the SWF as Hag, and he was decimated? They sure made changes to Hag after that, as well as flashlights. While it was brutal, I honestly feel the devs that balance, or playtest, should hold matches like that regularly.

They claim they work on killers as far as a year in advance, but I wonder if they even bother to look at obvious balance issues until after they get all the technical stuff for the bulk of the power sorted, tbh. A lot of the time, it feels like they don't have a QA department at all, but then others, it does. It honestly feels like they're rushing killers out sooner than necessary in order to stick to their content roadmap. I just hope that if this is the case, the engineers, etc, aren't too stressed as it could mean there's plenty of crunching going on in the background that we aren't aware of.

  • The changes are all great, tbh. They're encouraging exploration, they fixed the 3 bully factors when it comes to The Twins, and Coup De Grace is no longer ridiculous, meaning it'll be able to get a meaningful buff in the future.

  • Just give the cooldown add-ons a reason to exist (0.2 seconds for the best add-ons is crazy pointless) and change the useless Killer Instinct add-ons to speed add-ons. (I don't mean crazy additional speed, either - something minor like 2-3%)

Also stop punishing him for successful M1 attacks.

    No rework needed.

That said, rework deep wounds UI so it doesn't make the survivor blind.

    @Sonzaishinai I agree 100%.

So you've never benefited from bloodlust? All your chases are 30 seconds or less? I'm pretty sure it takes 15 seconds to gain bloodlust 1 so if you don't need bloodlust then I guess you must have short chases.

'get to' and 'need to' are two different things. I will often end chases before BL1, however often I will end the chase the same moment I get it, too. And the times where the chase is a bit longer, I usually don't need it because it would have been one more loop or a few more seconds and I get a hit, anyway.

  • What? Bloodlust is an outdated mechanic and killers already get more points than survivors because they get to interact with the other side all game.

If you consider looping you well enough that you need a booster from bloodlust, then I think you should try to learn to improve at mindgames.

  • I played against one of these earliers; we did 5 gens and all totems before he downed anyone because we knew what was up and avoided places that would let him sneak up on us. He got a 4k because we threw for altruism; it was fun as a result of that ending, otherwise boring.

Definitely counterable. Hard to counter for sure, but not uncounterable. Also pretty fun, imo.

I figured it was him because of the offering, but then as someone broke his haunted grounds, I heard his breathing. To my surprise, he didn't seem to want to chase me, though? It was weird.

Self careful a powerful perk in solo queue when used smart. And everytime you need someone to heal you that's multiple people not working on gens and multiple people in one spot

Self care is the strongest killer perk in the game, lol

  • I mean if you're always seeing Self-care in your games, I assume you're winning most of them if you're the killer.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

If the game ends, this means that someone DCed/crashed in the Loading Screen and the game takes longer to realize that. So even if you load in, it might be possible that one person did not load in and the game will be cancelled, even tho the other players are already playing.

If a person DCs while the match is going (and all 5 players loaded in), the game will not be cancelled.

    Which Daily is it? Mori-Daily?

This, tbh. The only reason why they might be intentionally DCing to stop the game, is if it's a mori.

I don't believe for a second that people DC so much for slinger. I've literally never witnessed it happen, and I and people I play with despise him. When I've played him for dailies etc, no one has DC'd either.

  • Eh, the reason most people don't use it is that within range of the perk, if a crow is disturbed, you'll probably see or hear it anyway if you're experienced at tracking in this game.

  • I'm pretty close to uninstalling, too. Two thirds of my games as survivor are against VPNing killers, and when it's not, the matchmaking is whack as hell, giving me low rank teammates against good killers who legitimately go down in 5 - 10 seconds. I've played maybe 10 games since rank reset as survivor because of it in a time period where I'd normally play at least 50.

And because matchmaking isn't working right now, killer is boring. Survivors literally not knowing how to loop, etc. I love this game for learning how to outplay good players, not destroying babies.

  • MacMillan Estate, all apart from Shelter Woods which I feel is too much of a deadzone map.

Also as above, I agree that Wrecker's Yard is pretty well balanced, and yet I get it so rarely.

Same as Mandy, I quite enjoy Father Campbell's Chapel, however its counterpart I feel has issues for both sides. The middle building can be godly for survivors, however at the same time a lot of the places dotted around the maps are desolate.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

So killers can run absolutley any perk they want, but survivors who run dead hard are bad?

And survivors aren't allowed to go to good loops? Where do you want them to go, the corner of the map?

    You misunderstand me completely.

Dead hard completely negates a killer's outplay of a survivor, meaning they have to essentially get the hit 3 times in a chase, and I don't think that's particularly fair.

The specific instances I'm talking about are things like always running straight to the Crotus Penn god loop or god bus and abusing it to it's maximum potential before then going somewhere else, every chase. I don't expect anyone not to use strong loops; many loops are strong, but not many are as strong as those, where there is zero chance of mindgaming.

I also didn't say they can't run any perks they want; I literally said IDC about DS because I get hit by it maybe 1 in every 10 games when I play killer, even if those instances I blatantly didn't tunnel, but not enough for me to care.

Both sides have plenty of second chance perks. It's a thing in the game, and that's fine, but Dead Hard basically rewards survivors for pressing a button when they've just been outplayed. At the same time, NOED rewards killers who didn't pressure gens effectively enough.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 45
