I complain about both sides, because as with plenty of others, I play both. IDC about DS or Ruin/Undying, though. More about the way people go out of their way to make the game miserable for others.
I have zero respect for killers who camp, tunnel (unless the circumstance literally calls for it, like near the end of the game) or VPN, for example, but also hate survivors who literally always go to the god loop such as god bus or shack, or who rely on Dead Hard. (legit, that perk shouldn't be in the game imo)
-
Right, but what is your build? Like, do you already have tracking or chase in it? Bamboozle isn't bad on him, and same goes for enduring. Pop, MYC? Again, no idea what your other perks are so for all I know, I'm stating perks you run anyway.

It's pretty damn hard to land direct bottle lobs unless you're right on top of the guy already.
If you land one from a distance, you deserve a hefty reward, which this gives you.
Idk, I don't have much trouble hitting direct bottles; it's much harder than getting someone in a cloud for sure, but it isn't some epitome of skill. However, it still should be rewarded, just not by completely stopping a survivor from being able to do anything.
-
None of the options in post-game do anything; they, as someone above said, are fed straight into a shredder. Reports and props alike.
-
I need to bump this back up, because I've been keeping track, and 2 thirds of my games on the EU server as survivor at red rank, I go against killers who clearly don't know how to play, but it doesn't matter because they have latency on their side.
Why is latency on their side?
Because they're using a VPN in order to get easy wins, because you don't need a brain to kill survivors with the servers this heavily biased in your favour. You need to start banning these idiots ASAP or it could very well destroy the game. I barely have any will to play, and when I do, it's this 2 out of every 3 games? And the games that aren't like this, I get multiple green rank teammates against a red rank killer...
Come on. You can do better. We deserve better. Ban people who are cheating. Or we will stop spending time and money on the game.

I don't understand survivors who tryhard against killers who aren't tryharding, but hey, that just seems to be the game we're in these days.
'No u' isn't exactly helpful lmao

Constant screaming, frame drops, RNG screams giving him free hits is a pet hate for me; if he uses his power to do it then wellplayed for timing it correctly, but if it's an RNG tier 3 scream it's not earned, and frustrating to happen.
Backwards skillchecks also shouldn't be a thing, and also if he has the right add-ons, he can easily track you no matter where you are through illusionary doctors; (is that discipline? I can't remember) that doesn't feel particularly fair, either, since there's nothing you can personally do better to stop it.
But overall, he's an average killer and I don't wish any nerfs to him - he's just annoying as hell.
Oh, I also forgot: Deep Wounds and Tier 3. Tier 3 overrides mending, so you will go down if you don't find someone else to mend you before you snap out, meaning that you will be screaming, giving away your location on the regular while mending (not even healing) when it's likely you've just been hit with BT, meaning you're easier to find and tunnel.

Thank you, if only so that others can know I’m not making this up.
I’m tired of the replies here implying “this doesn’t happen, the killer always spawns on the opposite side of the map”
Or “stop leaving scratch marks every where”. Walking doesn’t leave scratch marks.
Yeah, you're pretty clear in what you're saying, tbh.
The map I find to be the worst offender, is Azarov's Resting Place. A few times I've spawned in the middle, outside of the tiles, with the killer spawning in front of me also not behind a wall/in a tile, and they're facing me. Once happened with a Spirit. Game over.
-
I've had plenty of games where I've literally spawned in an open area, with not a single tile near me, and the killer looking in my direction. It happens, and it really does suck.
-
Timer goes double speed if doing objective, half speed if chased, paused if slugged, normal speed otherwise. Easiest fix that makes it legitimately fair.
-
I don't think the opacity needs changing; I find it impossible to see through gas clouds as survivor as it is because in addition to how hard they are to see through, it makes your vision blurred.
Twice the hindered status effect is far too much, but there definitely does need to be reward for it. If, in addition to cancelling actions, (which it already does) it had a similar effect to doctor's screams, but for ever so slightly less time, I think that would be perfect.
I like the passive reload; a lot of issue with the Clown is that it just feels like a waste to reload if you're not out, and even then, it's a time sink over the course of a match. It's clear that as a result, the Clown player needs to be pretty careful with bottle use, but getting them back passively would be very fair, although I think bringing it down to 8 seconds would be fine.
-
Just saying, if someone is running flip-flop to combo with power struggle, that's one less meta perk ot worry about. And realistically, they'll have to run UB and Tenacity in order to make it work. So that's DS out of the window.
Most experienced killers don't walk through pallets while carrying survivors as it is; it's a meme perk and that's all.
-
Just think of it as 3 people not on generators and slug them/bait pickups, and where possible look at walls to pick up. These are the squads I love going against because they're inefficient as hell, just going for saves and trying to get better at them.

Killers who tunnel are either in need of securing a kill, trying to piss you off, or, they are actually bad at the game, but if they are bad at the game and managed to down you quickly, well, you might be bad too.
However, if you led that killer on a great long chase, and they decide you have to die, well, take solace in the fact that you've bought your team a fair amount of time and your sacrifice might ensure the escape of the other 3 survivors.
Right, except I always take them on pretty long chases, and they always tunnel. (not just me, either) And I don't run meta perks; not even an exhaustion one, the majority of the time. Yet even if I did, I would be punished by people playing this killer, so it doesn't even matter. This isn't something I wish to be proud of as it ruins the experience entirely. Stop. Justifying. Scummy. Players. And stop justifying a killer design that allows them to do it with ease.

Thanks! Looping is definitely my weakness and the main reason I went solo, don't want to rely on others to do it for me.
You sound like a hell of a teammate!
I may sound it but I have been raged at aplenty as a boosted survivor by teammates! :D
If you want more speciifc tips, or even a point in the direction of some content creators that are great to watch and learn from, I can recommend Ussylis and Cru5h on youtube. Both do tutorials and are insanely good at this game.
-
Probably about 70-80% of the time, regardless of if I'm in a SWF or not.
That doesn't mean that solo queue isn't painful, or doesn't feel borderline unplayable, because that is definitely how it is.
I survive so much because I learnt how to loop (and try to be efficient, so much so that when doing the drop 10 pallets in chase challenge, it took about 20 survivals in a row lmao) and know that if I don't have information to determine where to go to heal if needed, I'll just sit on a gen and I'm always mindful of a 3 gen when deciding which to do, as it's auto-loss if that happens. It's why on Azarov's Resting Place, the first thing I do is check if the side I'm on has 2, 3, or 4 gens on it. (That make needs fixing tbh, I've had all 5 gens on a deadzone RNG at shackside) The principle sticks for most maps, but it's a bit less clear cut to determine how to avoid it.
But conversely, I find the same to be true of my killrate, so I chalk it all up to RNG.
-
Positive players, entertainment, simply really nice people. As well as that, really skilled players are great to watch, too. It's why I enjoy people like Otz, Ussylis, Cru5h and Yerv, Zubat, Scott Jund.
They all bring something positive to the game; they aren't toxic and play in a respectable manner.

Is it going to get fixed with the new patch or something?
They do intend to bring MMR based matchmaking back, but all we know right now is that they're working on it after the time it was implemented and somehow achieved the impossible task of making matchmaking even worse.
-
There is no MMR; it's purely based on ranks. Matchmaking has never worked that well and right now, it feels like there literally is no matchmaking; it just throws people into random games.
-
It's pretty common for less experienced killer; the best advice one can give to avoid this is to say 'be as patient as possible'

Huntress can hit you from the other side of the map, outside both her terror radius and Lullaby. With iri head she can insta down you from across the map Deathslinger atleast has a limit for how far away he can be. Huntress hatchets have a ridiculous hit box, Deathslinger not so much.
And yet Huntress feels fair, while Deathslinger doesn't.
Simply because a skilled player can outplay a Huntress.

All killers are good at tunneling and if a phead tunnels you out of the game then that's tough luck as with any killer he still needs to get 3 other survivors but I'm guessing if he's tunneling that means if he was some other killer he would just camp
Except PH is exceptionally good at it, with no counter to his means of tunneling. It isn't just 'tough luck' when almost every person who plays him that I go against him plays in this way; it is a mechanic that needs looking into.

They did he can't see cages
That doesn't change anything, and wasn't a change made when they were looking at the issues with him in the last mid-chapter. He still tunnels incredibly well. It's not even hard to guess where someone goes when they're caged, and it's not hard to get someone tormented so that you can just straight tunnel them off the hook and instantly cage them again. Especially with those lovely bugs that land survivors being tormented randomly across the map from any of your trails while they've been working on a generator for 30 seconds straight without it happening yet.

How did they make it “way easier”.
Elaborate?
By allowing him to spam it repeatedly at such a fast pace you can't use his cooldown to press W and avoid it. :P
Honestly his ranged power is fine now; it's the Tormented status effect that needs looking at.
-
Yeah, honestly, idk why they didn't touch anything with regards to how well PH tunnels, because honestly, that's all people that play him seem to do, and it's simply not fun nor is it fair.
-
It's improved, but they didn't address how good he is at tunneling people out of the game.
-
I've never witnessed people DCing for Devour Hope before, tbh.
-
On. The only difference as solo survivor is queue times, and as killer it decreases the likelihood that I get an elusive toxic 4 man SWF. Win-win.
-
I feel like Oppression should activate if Surge activates.
Otherwise, I think they're all fine. Except for maybe Deception?
-
Mad Grit. Always catches survivors off guard. ;)
Hope is dope, also.

What I think they mean is that, when you wiggle then get dropped, your wiggle meter is obviously filled a bit. After some time of being slugged, this regressess back down to 0%, or instantly hits 0% when you get healed up again.
This doesn't happen; the wiggle meter does not regress at all when you've been dropped.

I love Midwich visually and as a concept. If BHVR would do something about just holding W down the hallways being so strong and adding some kind of indicator for where gens are like flickering lights in rooms, it would probably be one of my favorite maps.
I'd also argue that the exit gates really need repositioning, too.
-
Every game.
-
This is the issue; Deathslinger is the best stealth killer in the game and yet the only way to beat him, is to stealth yourself. It's difficult to hide from a killer you don't know is coming tbh.
This is why he needs changing. I've made a post in the past with ideas that ended up being a huge buff to him while making him much less frustrating/boring to vs.

Pretty sure i read somewhere last month or the month before we should get them
Yeah, they were in the PTB when the Blight came out, but it didn't get merged with the live client of the game until the midchapter that just rolled out the other week, so it was expected that we would get rank reset rewards, but nothing.
Perhaps next month.

@BigTimeGamer said:
where does it say killer is the power role?
its a pvp game, neither side should be a power role
This. There is no power role.
@OldHunterLight almost every player always runs add-ons as killer; Otz's streaks involve playing killers with no add-ons. Yes, there is an argument to be heard that he's a 8k hour killer main, etc, etc, but the fact is that if at the top level of play someone can get 50 wins in a row with no add-ons to make up for the weaknesses in a killer's power, the game's probably a lot more balanced than many of us perceive.
Edit: sorry oldhunter, I think I misunderstood your intiial argument, my mistake. But it more or less responds to OP anyway.
-
Why does this feel like a bait post?
Honestly, anything I would have said has already been said.
It really is a case of me finding it impossible to believe that someone who mains killer with 2.8k hours in the game struggles this much. I have over 1k less than that and I do just fine in red rank without ever opting to play Spirit, Nurse or Slinger. (Because they're so boring tbh)
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
This isn't anything new which is sad to say. SWF have been doing this for a long time now, and it's actually very sad they even feel the need to do this just to get 'EZ Wins' or bully a lower skilled killer. There's not much you can do beyond just grit your teeth and power through, at least until MMR gets reactivated.
These aren't necessarily SWFs, tbh. Matchmaking is random right now.
And grouping up with an incredibly low ranked player doesn't guarantee a low rank killer. It hasn't for a while; I actually came across a duo a few weeks ago where one was rank 1 with 7k hours and the other was rank 20 with one perk; they were a smurf account trying to get low rank killers, but it didn't work.

Solid balance explanation bro.
Facecamping is still a pretty unfun experience for the survivor, but the game mechanics do punish the killer for this behavior.
It's not entirely true that killers are punished for it, tbh.
They lose chaser points, true, but that's it. They don't lose many.

I play Solo survivor all the time - most of my friends stopped playing the game (for good reason) . It's not nearly as bad as playing Killer. Even if I get a bad team, I have the hatch for a free win. Back to back wins all the time. Like didn't you know that if you wait out the hatch you just have to go to the door, or the hatch whichever is furtherest from the Killer? Free escape unless he slugs for the 4k.
Playing killer is incredibly chill compared to solo survivor lmao.
The hatch is rarely a free win, be realistic.

Absolutely not been gone. Play enough killer it is in every other game. From the survivor perspective, they can’t tell they have the bug.
Survivors actually can tell when they have the bug.

Yeah it's been gone since the Blight came out at least. And the next time a survivor it is happening to interacts with anything, it fixes itself anyway.

"Don't feel too beat up" - exactly these dismissive ideas is why this game is so unfun for Killer. Every match if it's not the hatch, too many pallets, SWF, too many second chances, or the overall fact that while playing Killer you are not getting the feeling you are being rewarded for playing good. It's just expected that Killers "be fine with it". That they all should just go "That sucked" and just move on. While the survivors can bully, harass, and abuse the game as much as they want.
Play Killer and you're expecting to have a bad time, you have to just accept it, and move on. Play Survivor and the game should be catered to you to the point for the most part you're having fun.
Play Killer to do a job you're not being paid for. Play Survivor to have some semblance of fun, even with friends.1
If you think this game is unfun for killer, then you're gonna have a ton of fun as solo survivor!

They only reworked two because Ormond has onle one variant and it wouldn't make sense to give it a graphical update by itself.

What if you're doing it to one of those killers that tunnels and camps?

Juicing is a term used when referring to juking using a flashlight.
It could be a click into a moonwalk, 360, or even weird forward movement.
-
Are you sure they don't even use them midchase to reset their animations and hence try to juice you? As a lot of higher level players basically run flashlights not for saves, but for the cool movements they allow you to do.
