Earning blood points does not represent the criteria needed to do well in the emblem systems. They are kind of related but a player would do better to review the criteria for each emblem over assumptions around earning points.
@Ivaldi said:
So when is a new rank system being put into place because the current one is completely bugged... Its as if it just completely ignores what you do in matches at times and forgets to give you badges. 21K out of 32k points and yet you derank by that much? It's not even possible..

No One Escapes Death is in a good spot.
-
Great format. I don’t have an evil build per se but just wanted to give compliments while I think it over.
-
As far as skins, I was hoping that the cosmetic sale they had in January might recur more often (where they sold several cosmetics for 300, 600, and 900 auric cells). It hasn’t come back yet but I still have my fingers crossed.
-
Oh no. I don’t see that happening at all.
If you had buyers remorse after a few games, then I can relate. I have struggled with just about every killer. There’s always a learning curve and when you give it some time, you get used to them.
I remember distinctly hating playing as Doctor, Wraith, Hillbilly, and Huntress. I play with all of them now and it’s fun.

As a Survivor main who plays poorly, I'm often told "just get better". I don't mind, because I DO need to get better, but I'm not sure how.
I've got a little over 1000 hours in the game (nearly all Survivor), and have been playing for about 1.5 years. If I'm not better by now, it's just not going to happen without some additional catalyst.
I think part of my problem is playing "politely", so hopefully the Killer can have a nice time too. I don't usually bring in DS, a way to heal myself, an exhaustion perk, or items. I also play either solo or 2-person SWF.
It's easy to take me out early because I can't loop and can't heal. I get tunneled A LOT, mori'd, camped, etc. and have no means to combat it. I don't care about escaping, I just hope to earn 15k-20k(ish).
I know what safe tiles are and what safe pallets are, but never know how to recognize a safe pallet while running. I also don't know how to run the safe tiles. Finally, I have a lot of trouble prioritizing the right actions at the right times.
What I've learned, I've learned by watching streamers, then trying to practice what I see. Once I'm in a match, it's a jumble of things I need to do and remember, but can't sort them out.
Tl;dr: Watching & doing are best. Does anyone have suggestions to improve looping and staying alive longer in solo queue matches for someone who can't seem to learn?
Awfully nice of you to be polite. I don’t believe that you should handicap yourself in any form no matter the criticisms you might’ve read from killers if you want to compete better.
You seem to know your weaknesses. Work on looping by watching videos on how to run tiles and mind gaming from talented streamers (I recommend Truetalent, Puppers, Ayrun, and Fungoose on YouTube if you haven’t seen them already).
Also, highly recommend DS and Borrowed Time as base kit.
Bring an item if you want to be able to heal you goofball. There’s all kinds of perks, too.

Reading your post, this might turn into a definition argument. There are situations and context that can cause reactions in certain players. The question gives the impression that it might not have been called for, when it definitely could be.
I’ve been called camper and 4k with 28k+ blood points. Returning to a hook, because you know there are two survivors there is just using your brain. Unhooking near a killer who recently hooked the survivor is not using your brain (it’s actually called farming another player). Healing under hook as a killer comes back and expecting a pass is not using your brain. My point here is sometimes players make bad plays and when the killer takes advantage of mistakes, they’re called names.
I would agree face camping is not a fun strategy for either side and discourage it, if that’s what you mean.
I need to point out that you contradict yourself in your post, OP: survivors were DC’ing early in your killer matches, you investigated why, it was camping, then you say you don’t play a camping strategy because you prefer blood points and pipping.
@dreofanarchy said:
Hey all,
I use to be a killer main until I kept getting disconnected on almost right away in every match. So I became a survivor to see what the issue was.
Campers/Tunnelers. Now my question is why in the world as a killer would you camp/tunnel? The blood points suck if you play like that and if you are someone who face camps etc you are the reason why the disconnect penalty came into play.
So if a person on here who camps and thinks it’s the cool thing to do explain to me why you feel the need to enact that strategy and why do you have to grief the survivors you’ve already hooked?
I don’t understand because when I was a killer I preferred the getting bloodpoints and ruthless nods from the entity. So help me understand why a crutch like that is needed.
-
The hitboxes are janky but I disagree with the logic behind the complaint. The idea that if it was fixed that they wouldn’t be hit is wrong. Killers have to adjust to the hitbox, too.
-
This is a balance issue and only good for the game. There are issues where one side cannot compete as well due to unlucky map generation. Even the survivor streamers recognize the inbalance of it.
It’s not the survivor player’s fault for using what’s available. And if the PTB holds true, it won’t be available.
The posts talking about players not picking killer is true by the way. The ones who remain and compete well are the ones who choose the tactics that allow them to win. Because it’s what’s available.
I think this game is getting honed down. Looking forward to what’s next.

I have had several infinite loading screens and no penalty was enforced.

So if you crash, or EAC kicks you because your headset has pretty colours, or you're stuck in an infinite loading screen, or a multitude of other game-breaking bugs that occur and the game cannot distinguish between intentional dc and game bugging out, it's your fault for being a filthy disconnecting scumlord. Gotchu.
-
Most SWFs aren’t very good. Ever kill a survivor and another suicides on hook? You killed their friend so they’re leaving for the next match.
The problem the complainers are trying to bring up is the worse beatings are always by SWFs. In the end I prefer people play with their friends so I don’t mind if I get torn down every so often. I win a lot, too.
-
You can’t achieve Merciless at Rank 20.
@KayK99 said:
Fall to Rank 20 and do them there. The better your rank, the harder it'll be.

I don’t think you can curse on the forums.

I actually prefer playing killer and friends push me to play survivor with them. No lie, the instant killer queues are a dream.
Survivors are just reskins. Different killers are totally different game plays, styles, and mind frames. It’s a lot of fun.
Killers should earn more bloodpoints than all four survivors, ideally. Not sure of the point there.
My conclusion: I say killers give up too often. Most of my killer games are won with one gen left. I’ve literally had so many many games turned around that it makes me wonder how players would have given up in the exact same scenario.
@gatsby said:
Killers get more than double the bloodpoints compared to Survivors (since BBQ is useful and works with every build). Plus Killers naturally score higher than Survivors most of the time. Killer also has significantly lower queue times in red ranks.
So often times I end up playing Killer just because I want to farm bloodpoints or I'm sick of queues, not because I really have a desire to play the role. I'm usually higher ranked as Killer than Survivor even, but there's just not a ton of joy in my playtime honestly. Survivors spend the entire game bullying you and then hook suicide and cry in chat when the game starts to go badly. I feel like a babysitter half the time. If all things were equal, I'd probably play Survivor mostly and Killer every once and awhile when I was in the mood. But right now the disincentives to play Survivor kinda force me to play Killer more than I'd like to

@ProfessorDunwich said:
Been this way ever since the Ruin nerf, not that it has anything to do with that. I whoped Survivor queues would be better by now. Nope. Still plenty of time to post while waiting for a Survivor game. Meanwhile, I can get a Killer game instantly.
Play more killer
-
I always 'gg' each game. I prefer to let the other person shoot the first shot, but mostly I get crickets in the end game chat box.
-
Hahaha 👍️
-
Unfortunately, it is this or don’t play (longer queues). This is the lesser of two evils and people either forgotten what it was like before or hadn’t experienced it.

Well then dont be surprised if killer beat those points out of you .
This would be expected if I decide the intention is not in my interests, but the wiggle stun can allow time to solo escape.
-

-
Depends on how I’m feeling the intention is. Save if I think we can get out or I have a goal in mind myself. If I want to deny points, I of course wouldn’t save.
-
My lists are in order. ( ) means started but not finished.
Survivors: (David, Bill, Laurie,) Claudette, Jane
Killers: Clown, Trapper, (Shape,) Doctor, Oni, Plague, Cannibal, Hillbilly, Huntress
I find these discussions fascinating and can go more in depth.
-
This is a well thought out framing of the game.
-
Idk I think playing killer is fun.
-
We don’t know what the final version will be included in the patch but it is a clear step in the right direction.

The increase in better items is hardly noticeable, to be honest.
It is especially noticeable during events with further boosts to bloodweb rarity. Like half my web was purple.
-
I’ve been playing non stop the last three weeks. Game did not crash once. Sometimes my game freezes at a game loading screen. I lose my offering and there was no DC penalty.
-
You don’t have to prestige.
-
I think it might be a reflection of more red rank survivors than red a comparable amount of red rank killers.
-
Once again, the first penalty is five minutes....
-
I’d prefer the old reset as well. I used to enjoy the monthly climb.

This kind of killer would be driven entirely by perks. Movement speed and TR reduction perks would pretty much determine how powerful they can be. But at base, they'll struggle against knowledgeable survivors.
Nemesis/Play With Your Food Leatherface?
-
@Tarvesh said:
Actually, what I saw was a survivor so gen oriented that they didn't go anywhere close to other survivors unless it was to do a gen. The leatherface played perfectly fair the entire game. Then, played to his strengths to guarantee one (or more) kill once the end game happened.
I saw three survivors on one gen and saw you run up to gens that were already in the process of being worked on (but were unattended because unlike you, the other survivors were trying to help everyone else). You're claiming a lot that you didn't actually do. You act like you did everything alone.
You never once helped another survivor, then complain that they didn't help you. Guess they were too busy saving eachother while you played gen jockey.
The Bill went for you and couldn't. Because Bubba would have killed him instead. It was the right decision.
So according to what I watched, you get salty when you play selfishly and aren't rewarded with an escape, and instead CHOOSE to be toxic as a response to not being rewarded for a selfish playstyle. Sounds to me like you just throw a hissy fit when you don't get what you want.
Ooph. Wasn't my take but have an up vote.
-
I've literally never heard this complaint before.
-
I'm not a fan of the concept. There are already killers with instadowns and they are all 115% movement speed.

I'm not a nurse player so take my opinion with a grain of salt but i think thw biggest problem with her (outside of the bugs) is that there is no middle ground
A bad nurse is a joke
A mediocre nurse is bad
A good nurse is mediocre at best
An expert nurse is the strongest thing in the game
It's up to debate if such a skill-heavy character is necesarry a bad thing though
Nurse is S and F tier at the same time I guess?

I have DBD accounts at devotions 6 each. I have many Hours on Nurse,Spirit and huntress. I kept watching my old videos of me playing old Nurse and Its sad to see where The Nurse at now.
This is one of my best games as Nurse
I mean, good on you for providing a video, but on my screen the video clips in and out of different spots of I guess is the same game? And it's miss after miss after ds after miss.
-
I have to agree with OP. I haven't seen the god tier Nurses people say exist on PC (definitely not on console). She's ranked #1 on potential alone it seems.
-
I've been working on Huntress to prestige 3 and once I hit level fifty, I unload all her best add ons and offerings. I was surprised survivors still straight up disconnect against Iri Heads. Even with the DC penalty.
It probably needs to be nerfed, but I would prefer it remained with restrictions like hitting beyond fifteen meters or something. If a penalty was added like this, then the hatchet reduction should be removed, too, though. Balance it out; not delete.
-
To answer your question: it's funny.
-
That happens. When its in the end game sometimes that’s only play left for killer.
My theory is the hitting might be to annoy a survivor into suiciding.
-
And logically, you get 7,000 points for entering a hatch. 5000 survival and 2000 objective.
If a survivor who had earned 15000 points before the end game, receives zero points instead, then your team is at a net loss.
I play with friends. We never disconnect.
-
Hatch should stay but disconnecting to gift hatch is unfair. I know the person who DC’d gets a time penalty but is this reportable as an exploit, too?
It meets the criteria in my opinion, but the solution I prefer is that hatch does not open when a disconnect occurs in a game.
-
Oh man If you just didn’t ‘camp’ for that one millisecond. I know this pain so much. Oni took me so long to finally nail the merciless.
-
This idea will have players (maybe with DS) suicide running at the killer.
The unhook points are not in a bad place.

Yeah his meme stuff but still a good killer actually makes him really good to play, with his cosmetics im actually planning on buying the icy shroud and possibly the devil face after tome 3 comes out
But mainly with ghostfaces power i ment the part where he can only affect the people hes stalking not everyone on the entire map even though i too would love to see a teabagging myers
I think when I get ready to fully commit to prestiging Ghostface that I will get his Viper cosmetic! On PS4 I bought his metallic outfit during Black Friday and loved having it. I feel like a lot of his cosmetics work well with each, too. Not all killers have that advantage (Oni).
The idea for the Shape is a fun one. I just think that there are too many variables to implement with all the advantages the Shape gets in Tier 3 in his current version like: the increased lunge and faster action speed (vaulting). Would you give those up to be able to stalk a single survivor?
I think he's in a good spot right now. Maybe give a Myers mask to Ghostface as a cosmetic?
-
Ghostface is incredibly fun. He has silly meme stuff he can do and is also competitive. Great cosmetics, too.
Ghostface's power on the Shape puts you in a position of why even have the Shape? Also, there's the difference in height that causes another issue. A teabagging Myers would be hilarious, but he already has that sick moon walk haha.
-
People not wanting to play killer is real. It's a shame if they are blaming SWF's. Like survivors are allowed to get good at the game. Plus some of these killers probably crush SWF's and don't even recognize it.

I just started playing a month ago and stuck to survivor until recently. Now I main Susie and get put up against rank 5 and below survivors at a rate of 1 out of every 3 games and I'm only rank 19. Doesn't help that I'm colorblind and everyone is toxic with flashlights. I never camp or tunnel unless survivors decide to be toxic and mend in my face etc. but man is it tempting with this crap.
You're allowed to camp and tunnel lol.
Being colorblind is tough. I saw pictures of what it is like and that is a shame that there isn't a good option available for people with this.

What this request is is literally disconnecting. There is a litany of opinions on why this is a no-no and no longer going unpunished. Calling disconnecting something other than disconnecting is a disingenuous request.
Keep trying on games that you feel you are losing. You might learn something that helps in future games and you might even win when you didn't think you could.
