  • Nay, just move onto the next game. If you want to use a perk like deliverance then take aggro. The team might’ve done better if pressure was split amongst the survivors, too.

  • I do if I max deviousness points.

I’m point focused like many in this thread and getting one last hook for instance gives 2500 deviousness and 500 sacrifice. I’ll let the last guy have hatch or escape if I’m only getting 300-500 sacrifice points.

What bothers me is if I don’t and I get complaining in the lobby for not just letting them go. It’s so so so rare that a survivor gives themselves up to the killer when it was clearly a win for the survivors. It’s hypocritical to me.

You're missing the point of the conversation. It's more about the tactical advantage it can give in open maps. Since it lets you see further than you normally would, by quite a large margin.

This seems almost ridiculous to argue. It’s obviously an advantage, but people using it isn’t quite like using hacks. It’s a gray area to me.

If the question is does it give an advantage? Yes, obviously so.

  • I got a feeling this is more on the developers then the users of it. Like hook tech, window tech.

  • Ghostface with that hip action. Pretty hot!

nope... they buy cosmetic anyway....dwight with Christmas outfit... there is no way they have been banned regularly....

If you’re talking about the Monto video, Monto said that they had their steam account banned recently.

  • Yeah, its a lot of politics. Sides vying for a more favorable outcome. My power move here is to tell the developers to stop listening to feedback.

  • Poised to Dance with Me

    Inner Strength to Decisive Strike

  • Buying an auric cell pack right now.

  • These guys have their steam accounts banned regularly.

  • Definitely one of my favorite killers. Survivors are pretty much always guessing where The killer is.

One of my friends insist it’s his least favorite killer to go against.

I already dislike that Killer's #1 BP farming tool is locked behind a paywall, now that paywall's BP bonuses go all the way up to +400% BP from the match? Jeez, no.

Are there things that can be done to reduce the grind, absolutely, but buffing the hell out of both sides' already fairly popular BP farming tools isn't the way to do it. How about instead we have things like:

-Making all the other BP increases that exist in the game actually worthwhile

-Making Survivors capable of earning BP more consistently instead of the lottery it honestly is ATM by filling out their BP activation conditions

-Allowing players to sell stuff they aren't using for a small amount of BP

-Making a higher proportion of Perks and Addons worth using so when players do spend BP the feeling of having wasted Bloodpoints is diminished and they feel like they get value for their currency more consistently

Except that BBQ and Chili goes to the shrine for 2000 shards. It’s how I got it at least.

  • No, it takes fifteen seconds for each tier of Bloodlust. No changes are needed.

  • Not a terrible idea but presented really badly. This feels like the cursed entitlement that’s become taboo round these parts, boy.

  • If they’re actually a good team, then that’s good practice. I want to achieve a level of play that can beat the worse death squad teams out there.

Also, most SWFs just are not good and you may not even realize it is a group. I’m hearing there’s more and more potato survivors making it to the highest ranks.

  • You’ll end up with meta survivors rather then people playing who they like

  • During the January Developer Q&A. There are great reddit threads with highlights of the discussion.

  • Well, it was threatened by several on the forums during the PTB. I’m not a fan though unless it’s an unleveled killer and I don’t have better perks yet.

There is a thing in psychology called system 1 VS system 2, or fast VS slow thinking, that applies HEAVILY to video games. Here is a video explaining it...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4-EyNJhcQ8&t=4s&ab_channel=Core-AGaming

Basically you NEED those system 1 mechanics so that system 2 can handle other stuff. In DBD, doing a gen is system 1. It's easy and braindead to actually do the objective. The system 2 part of the equation comes in doing they gen while trying to avoid the killer, or what gens to do, or whatever else is going on in the game. If you change gens to a system 2 function, and there is no system 1, you destroy the flow of the game and make it much much harder to play survivor at the cost of not actually making it more fun (because doing gens isn't the fun part of the game). The game gets boring because you have to expend all this energy to do a gen AND run from the killer AND do pretty much everything else in the game. Skill checks add a little bit of system 2 into the equation so doing a gen (or healing) isn't 100% mindless, but it's mainly a system 1 process. Trust me when I say no one will want to play survivor if they have to try while doing a gen. It's boring AF, the fun part is being chased by the killer (which is already a system 2 process).

Your suggestion would literally kill the game.

You should do a thread about this.

  • Oni with his power is the best killer in the game. Fight me.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

    Yes it should

Yup. I still am willing to chance it, too. People miss skill checks.

Wait wait wait, hear me out for a second here.

Before you scream entitled Survivor main, or call me every word in the urban dictionary, please hear me out.

I have reason to believe playing Killer is easy for the time being, and yes I know how absurd that sounds. But please, like I said, hear me out. (If you don't want to read the text-wall, I added a tl;dr)

I've been gone for a couple week's hiatus from DBD and I finally came back to play with Deathslinger a while ago. A while back I thought that playing Killer would have me sweating every game, since that was my experience prior to today. Which is why I took that break because I couldn't take playing DBD anymore.

But when I came back, obviously I was lower ranked but the survivors I faced just felt... Easier. Playing Killer felt more like a breeze, even in Green and Purple ranks where I feel the survivors there are more brutal than the survivors in Red Ranks. I even got a chance to try out and succeeding with killers I don't normally play as including Legion and Oni.

That is not to say playing Killer itself is easier, it's just that I think the skill level of Survivors are getting worse overtime. I noticed this too whenever I play solo Survivor. My teammates tend to either leave me to die on a hook because they need to self-care, or they do risky saves without Borrowed Time. It's getting rather frustrating to see someone tap a gen knowing full well the killer has Pop Goes the Weasel and is about to hook another person. It's like my teammates cannot preserve pallets and make easy deadzones for killer to down you with.

These survivors are becoming more and more common, even people who use OoO in SWF teams feel like they're getting easier to deal with. And no I'm not talking out of my butt, I've faced multiple survivors with OoO who suspiciously look like they are in-comms (going for saves the moment I chase someone indoor, or working on generators far away from the obvious spots they would normally look out for, heck even coordinate on where my Hex totems are.)

There are times of course when I feel like my teammates are competent, last game I had as Survivor someone with Unbreakable helped turned a 4k NOED win for the killer to a NoK all escape win for the Survivor. That's brilliant. And that is the kind of plays I would expect in the rank I am usually in (Rank 6). But those times are very few and far between.

Take this game as me as Ghostface for example. I got looped for 4 minutes because the window and pallet spawns were not in my favour and the Feng Min who ran me around knew how to use it effectively. I had the sunk cost fallacy and just said "Screw it, if I am getting a kill it's from this Feng Min."

But this is the end result instead:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/431/CGAMYLKUCRBD.png

4k. I hardly believed it myself. And this wasn't because I was a godly Ghostface, I actually got looped for 4 minutes yet I still got a 4k. Because her teammates didn't do any generators. They followed her around trying to rescue her to get unhooked. They fought with each other in the endgame chat but I didn't censor their names and I'd rather not be banned on the Forums.

With that said, I can see why Killer is still stressful for a lot of people. It does demand you to split your attention between 4 Survivors and be able to keep track of all of them. Not to mention with the added pressure of generators popping left and right which doesn't help with your mentall psyche when playing as Killer.

But. Right now I think Killer is easy purely because the Survivors themselves, or at least Survivors in the Western Australia region are not as good as their rank should be. I mean I literally just got off a game as Legion where I double pipped against a 2-man SWF with OoO (I know it's 2-man because those two simultaneously gave up and let me down them.)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/715/KJ9LSV6ZT7Z7.png

And I suck at Legion. I missed a lot of my Feral Frenzy swings that game.

    TL;DR

I think Survivors are not able to keep up with Killers in rank. Both from my experiences as a Solo Survivor and a Killer. I know rank doesn't mean anything, but the fact this is becoming so common is making me concerned about the kind of players Survivors that are becoming common in high ranks. I'm not asking Survivors to git gud or get better immediately, that would be unreasonable. But I do hope this isn't becoming more common, because the challenge of playing Killer is to juggle 4 Survivors at once. It's a 4v1. Not a 1v1v1v1v1, which is what it feels like.

I'm not making this thread to incite hate or antagonize anyone. But I am mainly concerned the kind of survivors I play with and fight against are making the other side easier than it should be. The challenge is gone when the survivors do suicide hook dives and continually run into you.

I hope you'll understand where I am coming from, I don't think playing Killer itself is easy. As it is hard to pick up on the go, especially when you do meet up with survivors who know what they are doing. But right now, at least in the WA Region, I feel like Killer is not as hard as it should be.

Yes, OP. Potatoes exist. So the premise is the potatoes are multiplying and the thread title is bait.

I defend DCing if you need to leave for something in real life or if a life-threatening emergency comes up unprecedently.

This is the only reason for DC’ing I’ve read in this thread that I’ve agreed with.

  • Try playing Civilization for a while.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

No way. Then if a 3-gen happens, somebody will just DC and give their team a free win

This is the key to it. Too easy to abuse. Nice idea in an ideal world though.

  • I've had several bugs happen over the last few weeks mostly including infinite loading screen. I had to alt+F4 the game and I never received a disconnect penalty from it. Apparently the game can tell when there is a bug / error and the penalty does not and has not applied to me yet.

You cant blame/punish someone for having poor internet as it could be all they have available in their area or all they can afford.. besides half the time its DBD's servers having the issues anyway.

I get it. There are people who cannot afford a computer, console, or the price of the game either.

  • The devs have announced a rework for cruel limits. I would also like to see the other two perks boosted as well. Shake up the meta.

  • @sethgameboy101 said:

still it counts it as a Dc so they need to fix that or not have it at all

It is a disconnect. There’s nothing wrong with the DC penalty applying in the story given in the OP.

I want you and your friends to play, too. Having the bandwidth to be able to play online is a base requirement for multiplayer games or it ruins other players experiences, even if you and your guys are willing to look past it.

  • If nothing else changes in the game, then the mori is fine as is. Plus, the animations are so cool.

  • I would also like to know how the resets occur.

IIRC phasing should only be audible outside the TR. The only time you should hear it in her TR is with Prayer Beads

Then this bug has been going on for some time and needs to be adjusted badly. I thought they wanted her to come down just a bit more in rankings because this was a complaint/suggested change for a while. Even before her nerf patch.

  • I thought that was an intentional adjustment.

@Peanits Could you confirm whether hearing Spirits phasing within terror radius was an intended change or not?

  • Whining about whining. We’ve come full circle.

  • Devs - Please do not remove the DC penalty.

OP - Help your guy get a better connection because in order to get a thirty minute timer, s/he might need some improvements there.

  • Getting to Rank 1 is a step some players can’t make. It does mean something to get there, but once you do you might realize there is an even higher level of play.

Letting other people play how they want to play is also a maturity thing for some of us. I agree there are more efficient methods of play but learning to let go and enjoy might be your next step.

  • I personally hope so. They’ll probably have difficulty with getting the license to agree to it but I want it to happen. Ghostface has the best cosmetics in the game.

  • Oni’s ability is so much easier to use than Hillbilly. I have a blast playing him on PS4

I play stealthy killers so much that I just can’t decide which outfit I want to buy

I can help. Buy Junkyard for Wraith and the Venom Mask for Ghostface 😁

  • The killers that are hardest to see have the best cosmetics. Wraith. Ghostface. Fight me.

  • Weird, my matches average around fifteen minutes. Time flies faster than I gave credit for until I ran a timer out of curiosity. Boy was I wrong about thinking matches were only five minutes long. Turns out I was just wasting a lot of my time available in matches.

  • Unfortunate. I was hoping they’d give the community time to adjust to the new maps (if they do it) before the third tome. This means we’re diving in with it. Might see more angst having both stressors at once.

Well, yeah, but 21k WITHOUT farming perks and that set of pips? What would you have to do to get that type of score?

Assuming they did have one unhook. 1,000.

His teammate had Prove Thyself. By triple teaming a gen or two, you can max objective very quickly. 8,000 (9,000).

One unhook activates Deliverance. That with Decisive Strike is another 3,000 (12,000).

Max boldness from long chases that he lost (with lots of pallets and vaults) and a few totems. 8,000 (20,000).

The points add up. He didn’t accomplish enough per the emblem system, which also adds up.

  • How about Kindred for NOED? Both perks are available to all players (not tied to a character).

    @Godot said:

    What are your suggestions?

I personally think Kindred for survivors and maybe Ruin for killers? It would be logical that if the survivor gets off the generator swiftly as the killer is there, the survivor makes a quick screw-up with the wires and can't exactly focus on the generator while the killer chases them. This doesn't mean the killer can't kick generators anymore, because if Ruin was turned into base-kit, then generator regression should likely be buffed too. Do keep in mind, generators that are left alone don't regress because the killer isn't disturbing the survivors. This is also why 3-genning would likely be even more dangerous for survivors.

Everyone talks about how the new Ruin sucks, but they don't talk about how it could be turned into an interesting map pressure base-kit mechanic that isn't bound to a Hex totem.

    But that's just my opinion!

What are your ideas for basekit perks?

  • Unfortunately, it is this or don’t play (longer queues). This is the lesser of two evils and people either forgotten what it was like before or hadn’t experienced it.
