They need to town down the pallet rng. I played on Midwitch and me and the survivors were pretty sure that every place that could have a pallet spawn did have a pallet spawn. This one Feng used 16 Pallets and the other survivors still had pallets to use.
Then i get pale rose and there was like 5

I get it man, exhaustion perks are a feels bad. Kinda sucks to finally catch up to someone to have them vault a window or jump off a ledge and zoom away. Sprint burst being the worst offender of this.
Dead hard is also pretty bad. At it's most annoying you can't do anything about it because they just dead hard for distance. Even if they use it dodge a hit at a loop it basically becomes a "oh i got mind games, lemme just hit a button to undo that"
Considering the never ending complaints of there being no counter to Spirit, why not have some counter play to Exhasution perks. After all it's one out of four perks while Spirit phase walk is her whole kit.

Perks that affect skill checks should make them significantly harder or change what the skill check is.

I just personally feel that every perk has advantages that can be milked, if used intentionally. Even the awful Monstrous Shrine gets teammates off of gens faster for rescues when someone is hooked down there.
Well yeah every perk does something. It's just the opportunity cost of using certain perks over others

I personally think tier lists don’t hold much weight.
It's just an opinion based thing.
But seeing your comments on here about certain perks blows my mind at times.I just would want to see what you think of the perks for some context

This perk by far is one of the most underrated killer perks, and is probably the least suspected perk by survivors.
Stridor is not the only counter to Iron Will. Bloodhound is also an excellent counter to this popular survivor perk. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve gone to leave a hook, only to notice a bright red pool by a rock/tree/obstruction out of the corner of my field of view, but can’t hear anything because of Iron Will. If it weren’t for Bloodhound I’d probably had not suspected anyone was nearby.
Iron will users are more likely to suspect that the killer is either using Whispers or aura reading before suspecting Bloodhound.
It’s also a great substitute for Deerstalker when it’s been necessary to slug survivors. They’re much easier to find with Bloodhound, unless they have No Mither.
Anyway, my point is: Iron Will bothering you? Try out Bloodhound for about half a dozen matches. It’s way more useful than is given any credit. Injured survivors can’t juke you. You’ll always know which direction they went.
I would love to see your perk tier list my man

Yeah I agree with that. I just don't agree with the mindset that solo queue isn't fundamentally awful.
I don't think we will agree on that aspect ever, but at least we can come to the same conclusions
-
Possible? Yeah maybe one day. It's just a bit weird because Identity V is a direct competitor to DBD while all the other cross overs are from horror that is not competing with DBD.
As for who, there are so many good choices it's tough to pick. I would vote for Violetta or Joseph for killers. For survivors I would pick Jose and Tracey.
I think almost anyone from that cast would be a good choice though for killer or survivor.

Taking second chance perks is NOT "selfish play" necessarily. The biggest asset you can be for your team is actually being alive since we all know how many Killers tunnel one survivor out at the very beginning so they can secure their chances of getting 4k. The less survivors there are, the easier the game becomes for Killer. And you know, most of us bought this game to actually play it. The Killer has the choice and power to end the game for just about any Solo survivor at any time and they often do (again, simply camp/proxy camp and tunnel right off the hook). Yesterday I witnessed a Hag tunneling so badly that 2 survivors only came away with like, 3k BPs each. Kindred is useless against Proxy camping.
Those matches are the epitome of misery and occur often enough that second chance perks become a necessity. For some, their importance overshadows information perks. Meanwhile, SWF have; Kindred, Empathy, Bond- and a bunch of other extra perks by default. I think that might be what's rubbing some people the wrong way here; you're acting (maybe not your intent) like second chance perks are this fun choice and we're just being selfish if we use up slots on any anti-tunneling/slugging perks. But tunneling at high ranks is SO bad, that a Solo has a greater chance of earning more BPs and being able to play the game for longer by equipping whatever we can to get away and prolong the game. In red ranks, hell, you can bloody well depip even if you escape because of how the emblem system works.
Anyhoo, I don't think you and I entirely disagree though at base. I know all too well that Killer is stressful. I have to be in the right frame of mind to play it LOL. But when I do play Killer and get frustratedm it's usually when I face 3-4 man SWF's. Their advantage is ridiculous. I think the problem is that BHVR wants them in so bad for the $$$, so they try to balance Killers and SWF when the game wasn't initially designed that way. To me, Solo queue is just the chattel BHVR throws to the Killers so they don't quit lol. Because if the game stayed the same, but there were only SWF to be matched with, there would be no Killers because it's an exercise in masochism. If it weren't for SWF I'd play Killer more.
Yeah i think i could've worded things better. I think we do fundamentally agree that swf is just too strong compared to the other roles. And look i totally get why the Meta build is the Meta build. You can't really rely on your team mates too much because you have no idea how good they are. And i sympathize with the survivor getting camped. It's not much fun to have a 8 minute que to get camped after first down to death.
I really want solo to be buffed. It's just when i see content creators and the forum talking about how solo survivor is comically weaker than killer i just have to disagree. When solo gets buffed as it should, i want killer also buffed. I think killer is closer to solo survivor in terms of strength than it is to swf so when and if solo gets buffed i want fair compensation for killer and the talk that solo is so weak compared to killer makes me think there would be a lot of blow back if the killers got semi decent buffs.
I know the forum and content creators are not be all end all decision makers on the game, but the devs do read the forum and watch the content creators videos so there is at least some pull.

Well the situation is slightly different from generator speeds. We'd have to nerf generator delay perks after we standardize generator speeds a little more, but information perks would just become redundant if we fixed soloQ communication issues.
Info perks would still have some usage. They are a lot stronger in solo but being able to see exactly where the killer is going from kindred or the exact spot someone is on the map with bond would be helpful. Not everyone would be able to call out the exact location of the killer.

Suuure... That's an excuse for bad balance in the game. If survivors do bad, survivors are bad, if killers do bad, the game is not balanced. That's BS. 2-3 years ago solo was much stronger, the escape rate was around 50-60%, after survivor nerfs it is around 30% now. Did solo survivors suddenly became bad and killere god-like? No, game balance has changed.
You didn't really read what i said. Solo survivor should be buffed. But no matter how much you buff it you will get bad players on your team that ######### you over. And don't worry i'm not gonna try and defend game balance. I have lost games as killer where i have made some sub zero iq plays and i lose because of it. That isn't the game being unbalanced. The same thing will happen with survivor the only issue is you can have your team mates being the ones making the plays and ######### you over. Even if survivor was god like there will always be dumb and bad players that will cost their team mates.

Yeah I'd rather you didn't refer to me as "man", we're not friends.
Also it's not a reach at all, it's simply how it is. They're separate issues, with separate causes and therefore require separate solutions. Bringing up killer issues in a thread aimed at discussing survivor (or vice versa) is exactly why these sort of threads get nowhere.
Yeah man you don't get to pick how i type. Never said we were friends, don't even know how you thought that or why you brought that up.
That is a huge reach. If the game balance is in a state where you need specific perks to function as a solo survivor, and you also need specific ones to function as a killer, that IS LITERALLY the same issue. Needing to plug in certain perks to function, thus killing build diversity, whether it is affecting killer or survivor is the same problem. Of course the perks you need on solo survivor do not serve the same function as the ones you need on killer. Duh. That does not make them seperate problems. It's the same issue for both sides but since killer and survivor have separate objectives you are going to obviously have seperate soloutions. That does not mean they are not analogous. It's the same issue. I really shouldn't have to type this out.
Also it's my thread. If you actually ######### read it you could see the big problem i have is when people grossly exagerate how weak solo survivor is compared to killer. So of course killer gets brought because that's the whole ######### point. I mention that in the first paragraph.

I agree. Maybe its also different for different people. For me, escape is not a winning condition. I very often pip and gain good amount of BP even if I die. And all that while having fun.
If you get several unlucky games in a row, getting hard tunneled out of the game early or having bad teammates whole let you die on first hook, its understandable to be upset.
I have said it many times, the matchmaking and map RNG is the 80% of everything wrong in this game. If you get competent teammates and fair map RNG, you are having fun more often than not.
Maybe I am just lucky but most of my teammates in solo arent that horrible and if they are its very rare...dunno
both solo survivor and killer tend to just remember the bad matches. It sucks feeling helpless so its burned into your mind.
I can remember games as solo survivor where my team mate sand bages me so i go down, then get face camped and watch even though i have kindred i watch as my team just all crouches near where i am. Not doing gens, not going for the unhook. Nothing.
I can also remember games where i've a a gen, my ruin, and my undying all go before i even made it to the other side of the map thanks to BNP and some great hex spawns.
Everyone experiances will be different though. I've seen complaints about wraith on here and i haven't played vs one in a long ass time. I don't want people to think i think solo survivor is fine and people need to not complain, i just think it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I play solo survivor too and i've had clown fiesta games. I got chased for 7 minutes once on the game by a Billy and zero gens got done because my team mates couldnt find them. That isn't the role being weak that was my team mates being dumb. And i get that it sucks because survivor ques are long and you wait in que for 10 minutes to get ######### over. But that's just how it goes sometimes.
The vast majority of the games are fine, but you get these outliers which are issues and people remember them. What i was mostly saying in this thread is
- Solo survivor is pretty close to killer in terms of power.
- There are perks that make solo a lot less painful, i get that it sucks having to have perks forced in your build, but killer has the same issue.
- Your team mates sucking is not reflection the how strong the role is. Solo survivor could be buffed to oblivion and claudette with mangled will still self care in corner.
- Solo survivor needs big buffs to be closer to swf, but every killer outside of the top 3 or 4 need to be buffed accordingly. When people grossly exaggerate the difference between killer and solo survivor it makes me think they want large buffs to solo and not much for killers.

Yeah, killer is more close to solo queue. I'm not saying that killer is a cake walk compared to solo queue.
And no, that's not the point I'm trying to make about looping idk where you're getting that from. I'm saying it doesn't matter because dbd is a team game. Like I've said before, looping skill doesn't mean anything if nobody is making generator progress and in solo queue that's a very common occurence. Also love how much you say there's no point in talking to me and yet you're still here, talking to me...
If kindred helps you then good for you, but I along with many other solo queue survivors who use or have used kindred on a consistent basis have gotten little to no benefit from it. If you're playing with teammates who were perfectly fine with letting you hit half or even die on first hook then running kindred won't really do anything. If they're selfish enough they don't care if you die for their own benefit, seeing auras won't change that.
And you saying that solo queue isn't as bad is people think is literally telling people what is and isn't fun I don't understand how you can't see that. Just because I think killer is fun doesn't mean I can just tell anyone who says killer isn't fun that they're wrong and it's not that bad. So...just because you personally think that solo queue isn't terrible doesn't mean that everyone who complains about it is wrong.
We can at least agree on the core problems at the very least
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:

Individual skill as far as looping doesn't matter. You can loop the killer for 7 minutes but if your teammates are just sitting in the basement using level 1 self care the whole time you're going to lose. Literally cannot remember the last time I was getting chased in solo queue and a gen popped.
I don't get why you're bringing killer into this discussion either, we're talking about solo queue this has nothing to do with killer. I know that killer has problems, I'm not saying it doesn't. It's stupid that killers have to run all slowdown perks just to not get gen rushed every game. It's the same thing for both sides, you shouldn't have to run perks to fix flaws in the gameplay. And stop acting like running kindred/bond/better together/any other information perk is automatically going to make your games easier. Kindred might make your teammates save you on hook, better together might make your teammates know which gens to work on, but it probably won't most of the time. And running those perks doesn't fix the lack of communication/coordination problem. All it does is give information that may or may not be useful.
And I never said that killer or swf was objectively less fun. I specifically said that solo queue isn't fun for MOST people. If anything I think you're the one trying to say what is and isn't fun by telling people who hate solo queue that it isn't that bad and to just get over it but whatever man.
I mean you just don't play enough or you have really short chases if you can't remember last time a gen was popped during chase.
i brought killer up because that is the whole point i have been making is that killer is not way stronger than solo que survivor. You can argue that solo que is stronger than killer but it isn't some gap. Killer strength is closer to solo que survivor than it is swf.
Individual skill at looping doesn't matter. Like okay. I just don't really think you are playing the same game as me. If you think that then there's literally no point in talking to you. Every survivor is the same skill level in solo que because looping is the number one skill for survivors in dbd and if that doesnt matter in solo que then everyone is the same.
Also didn't say kindred is the be all end all fix but it does help a lot. But if people don't want to run it that's on them.
Also not saying which is more fun, just solo que is not as bad as bad as people make it out to be. Yes i have had some stupid mother ######### on my team. but i have also had decent team mates too. Kindred helps. I get that it is ######### stupid that you have to run perks as a solo that you don't in a swf which is part of why Swf is much stronger. But running these perks makes a difference
@OnryosTapeRentals said:

Because it's not the same thing. They're different issues. Both need addressing but not necessarily in the same way - because they're different problems. It's really not a difficult concept.
- Solo survivors suffer from a lack of communication and coordination with their teammates.
- Killers suffer from survivors not having a good secondary objective and the primary objectve (generators) consequently get done too quickly.
The survivor issue could be resolved by giving solo players buffs so they can coordinate more effectively. Would giving killers more communication help? No. Because they're different issues. That's why it's not a valid comparison.
Comparing the problems of both sides isn't productive. It does nothing to actually solve the problem(s). Bringing up killer problems when talking about a survivor issue (and vice versa) just hijacks the conversation and prevents any meaningful conversation about it.
That is such a reach man. Just because killers and solo survivor's have to run specific perks for different reason doesn't mean they aren't comparable.
Solo survivors need to run perks for communication. Killer's need to run perks for slowdown. Just because the reason is different doesn't change the fact that they both need certain perks. But it's a dumb tangent. I want solo buffed. But i say that killer isn't way stronger than solo survivor so if solo survivor get buffed then i also want killer buffed accordingly.
@rha said:
One thing that tires me in this thread is the amount of times you repeat how survivors don't want to run kindred instead of their second chance perks. Makes you sound like a killer main tired of SWF with the same meta perks who is delighted how solos are required to dedicate their full build to make up for their lack of information and is afraid this might change. Please consider that always running the same static build as survivor to have a halfway decent solo experience isn't much more fun either, and there are plenty of interesting perks - not even second chance perks - in the game that I'd love to run but only really get a chance to in SWF or the moment I say something about solo experience I get hit with "why don't you just use <exact build I got tired of running every single match for days and weeks>".
Particularly as the devs are just stacking up on these kind of "here's something to make your solo matches better" perks, it's not just Kindred, all four slots can be easily dedicated to "make up for the fact you're not in SWF" perks. Totem counter so you know whether you need to hurry to snack an Inner Strength heal in case your teammates are actually cleansing totems? Or just to know whether your teammates do anything useful if you run the killer and gens don't pop? No problem, now you can just add Small Game to your build. As if I had five perk slots.
I agree. Solo que forcing perk builds sucks but they really do help.

Please point out where in the following paragraph I stated that "it's completely fine for killers to have to run certain perks". I think you'll find that is not what I've said at all and you're just creating a strawman argument.
"Killers having to run slow-down perks is not a valid comparison to solos having to run Kindred. Nor is it a justification for the latter. All it means is that both sides have issues that should be separately addressed. The "well killers have to do it too!" mentality is not productive and does not address the game's problems."
So how is a killer being forced to run a slow down perk not a valid comparison as a solo survivor being forced to run Kindred.
Also you have not read the thread. I want solo que buffed i agree. I do not agree that is is 100% harder than killer. There are perks available to run that make solo que not as much of a gong but people choose to not use them and that's fine. But it's gonna be a ######### show. A killer doesn't have to run slow down perks that's fine but gens are going to fly.

That is literally not apples to oranges. Saying it's unfair for solo survivors to have to run certain perks and saying it's completely fine for killers to have to run certain perks is unbelievable levels of bias. Those two are completely analogues. I don't think either side should be forced to run certain perks. I want solo que survivors to be buffed.

Did you even read what I said? You only replied to one of the points that I made and ignored the rest.
And yes, bad teammates makes solo queue incredibly weaker. In a swf you can ensure that everyone on your team can play at least at an average skill level, you can't do that with solo queue.
I did read what you said. what do you want me to say?
"Individual skill is almost completely irrelevant."
Like if you want to believe that i can't stop you. But that is just so ######### far out. Being able to talk to your team mates doesn't mean looping as a skill all of a sudden doesn't matter. If you think that being smart about which gens to work or being a loop god that can run the killer forever won't change the outcome when by yourself then there is literally nothing i can say to you.
The rest also applies to Killer. I can't use the perks and builds i want or i just get gen rushed but i get it. If i dont have slowdown perks then gens fly. If you choose not to run info perks then you are gonna have miscoordination with your team. Terrible match making affects both sides, not just solo survivor.
Also i'm all for buffing solo que, but solo que is not 100% weaker than killer. You have perks that can provide info, but people choose not to use and then complain. Also killer vs swf vs solo que fun is subjective. Some people really like solo que. Some people really like killer. You can't blanket state it's more fun like it's fact.

"Run perk X, Y or Z!" isn't a good solution to major game problems. You shouldn't be forced to run a perk to account for flaws in the game's design. End of.
EDIT: Those perks provide INFORMATION, not COMMUNICATION. They're very different things.
I agree. You shouldn't have to run perks. But if that's the case then netheir should killers. Gens should take way longer. I shouldn't need slow down perks. I also shouldn't need tracking perks to find people. That's bad game design.
That is where things are at right now though. And yes, Kindred doesn't provide communication. but it provides info that acts as communication. If i'm on the hook, my swf can say "Oh i'm getting camped guys stay on gens". With kindred, no one gets to talk to each other but you can see if the killer is camping effectively giving the same info

Guys didn't you know that running Kindred magically resolves all of the core issues with the game that make solo survivor unfun?
/s
In all seriousness though, solo survivor has too many issues to name. The fact you're defending it like this tells me you don't have much experience with it in the high ranks :p
Glad to see you just didn't read the majority of the thread.
I still think solo survivor needs buffs. But i don't think solo survivor is impossibly difficult compared to killer. You are going to get bad team mates. Nothing will change that. the lack of communication can be partially fixed with kindred. If you don't want to give up your second chance perks and get hooked and see no one coming to save then that's on you. Killer's can't have all the perks they want/need, and nethier can survivors.
Also i have made it to red ranks multiple times as a solo que survivor. Yes there have been some ######### gong show games. But most of the time it's fine. Being able to talk to your team mates is going to stop the solo que caludette from self caring in the corner, it wont stop the sweaty spirit form tunneling you, it wont stop the basement facecamp bubba.
But obviously communication helps a lot. There are perks in the game that can provide some. (KINDRED). No one wants to use it, and then they want to complain about it.
The fact that you think it isn't close shows you don't play both sides enough and don't experiment with builds.
-
@Raptorrotas said:
Swf is stronger than "solo"/"default" because theyre able to use third party software unaccounted by the game's design. Oh and obviusly they care more for each other than pubbers. You just dont consider calling that buddy you know your anger induced slurs when he messes up.
Swf changes a survivors perception of a trial ("we" win) and that sticks with people so they compare the default with it.
- The only mechanical advantage is comms, the rest is in the survivor mind.
- Any goodie added for those poor pubs will also be used by better players and *le gasp* swf squads.
- People tend to want to add stuff that has nothing to do with that solo-swf gap ("basekit ds or bond etc")
Of course solo is weak when its compared with a stronger version of itself.... duuuuh.

I personally run Kindred a lot. But it's not magic. And I can only spare one perk slot for information. Sometimes not even that and I've just learned to creep to a hooked survivor as I just expect the Killer to camp now. Most Solo survivors don't "cling to second chance perks" for fun. We do it out of pure necessity. The camping/tunneling/slugging in this game is downright common. We have threads complaining about it daily. And it's always the same replies:
"Oh PUHleeze! That's why you have to run BT, DS, and Unbreakable! EVERY match! You have all the perks available to prance away into the sunset! It's your fault for not equipping them."
Oh, ok. So that's what? 3 perk slots. Oh wait though- the best way to avoid getting hooked is not to get caught in the first place. You kind of need an exhaustion perk right? Like Dead Hard. Or Lithe because we all have to "Git Gud!". Chases are kind of a huge part of the game, and prolonging a chase is the goal. So that's a slot.
So what if I manage to get away from the tunneling Killer but he hasn't quite given up yet? Well I main Grandpa who has the loudest, ribcage rattling, chain-smoker's coughs, wheezing and gasps of pain. NOT helpful if I'm trying to stealthily blend with a bush. Probably not gonna fool anyone.
"If you don't wanna get tunneled y you don't have Iron Will, n00b?"
And I haven't even addressed the heal perk slot. I can't tell you how many matches I've had to run after a fellow Solo survivor, teabagging furiously so they'll heal me. They love ignoring heals especially against Oni. So screw that, I say. Next time, I'm bringing Inner Strength.
As I said before, Solo survivors have to create their build for complete self-sufficiency. We don't have the luxury of running multiple info perks of the 4 slots we have. Kindred and Bond with no communication are only helpful for one aspect of the game. We have all the other aspects to think about too.
To tweak a bit of what @NMCKE illustrated, to me, it looks like this:
[WEAKEST] Solo Survivors -----> Killers --------------------------------------> SWF [STRONGEST]
I mean that's the nature of the game. you will always have situation's you don't have the perks for. Killer also has that issue. Miscommunication is the biggest problem in solo que. You will need to give up something for it. As a killer there are perks i want that i have to leave out because 4 is very limiting.
I understand the idea is selfish play and taking second chance perks is your best bet. But that is going to lead to the issues of miscommunication. I think Swf is way stronger than solo que and killer. But i would say killer and solo que are close.

Requiring the usage of x, y, and z perks is a terrible solution. There is a limited resource of perk slots, and not only do those perks take up space in a selection of 4, but they are inferior to communications. Information does not mean coordination.
Plus, the greatest benefit of SWF and greatest failing of SoloQ is teammate selection. With SWF, you can choose your teammates. With SoloQ, half of the time you get paired with a bunch of megheads.
And i agree. But the perks are there to lessen the issues and no one seems to use it.
Just like how killers complain about gen time, the answer shouldn't be "Use x y or z slow down perks"

Right? SWF can also say, “with this map we need to do the middle gens and leave the outer ones for last. Everyone immediately split up and if chased take the killer to the outer map”
I can’t do that with soloQ. Those 2 sentences could make a difference in a match. No perk allows me to coordinate a team. I can run de ja vu but if I already know the information, how do I tell my teammates?
Deja Vu is more for yourself. Kindred gives info for you team which can help. You can communicate builds in lobby on pc. There are things you can do to lessen the issues. I'm not saying that If every solo ran kindred then it would be just as strong as swf. What i am saying is that solo survivor's have tools to lessen the clown fiesta and try to limit miscommunication but refuse to give up perks. Should the killer be allowed to complain about not finding any one ever and also refuse to give up a slowdown perk for a tracking one?
I agree that Swf is way stronger than solo and i'm really on board to buff solo to try and narrow the gap. What i don't agree with is that Killer is also way stronger than solo. I think you can argue which one is stronger but i'd say they are close in terms of power it's just survivors never want to adapt to being solo and run the info perks that will help coordination and then complain about it and use that to try and paint killer as way stronger than survivor.

[WEAKEST] Solo Survivors > Killers > SWF [STRONGEST]
Killer is way stronger than solo survivors, but I do agree that some people do exaggerate the problem. With that said, solo survivors can defeat killers, even decent ones. However, the expectancy of this happening are pretty low unless the killer is very inexperienced.
Yes, I'm all for making killers stronger to compensate for solo survivors catching up to SWF. 😁
I guess we will have to disagree. We reached the same conclusion at least but i consider killer and solo survivor to be very close in terms of power if the solo's are willing to adapt.

The fact that this is more common than not makes solo queue hell for me.
Literally would rather play with bots.
Most people just suck at DBD. You average team mate in solo que is probably terrible. Buffing solo will not sky rocket their IQ. Solo que survivor could literally give you mega buffs to everything. Free info, free perks, faster vaults. But none of that is going to stop solo que nea from Urban evasioning around the map. Nothing will. People just try to use the fact that solo que team mates suck as justification for buffing solo que and try to paint the killer role as way stronger than a solo que because there are bad survivors in the game. I want solo que to be buffed. I just want an acceptable compensation for killers and when people say that Killer is way stronger than solo que then i fear the buffs killers would get wouldn't be enough.
But honestly there should be an option to play with bots or vs bot survivors or killers. Mobile has it, why cant we. Plus if a survivor dcs id rather have them get taken over by an AI than nothing.

Most of your points are "Just run Kindred".
It's way more complicated than that. The rest is basically your opinion that you personally don't find Solo that bad.
Yes because info perks like this really do help in solo que.
Buffing survivor to have this info for free will not help the other issue of bad team mates.
No one in your game figured out the killer had BBQ. That's on them. Unless you propose an ingame voice chat for the survivors then you will always have this happen with solo que.
I know it's my opinion but saying solo que survivor is no where near the strenght of killer is also just an opinion. Bad matches will always happen, but the amount of bad matches can be reduced by using perks like Kindred and Bond, but survivors seemed glued to their second chance perks.
When Ruin/Undying was at the peak of its power, the amount of maps, small games, and detective hunches didn't change. People are just too glued to their second chance perks. I get that it sucks if you want to run all the second change perks in the world, but that is the nature of the game. I have a lot of perk builds i want to run on killer but they give up too much in the form of game delay and tracking. I can still use them if i want. Just like a solo survivor can use second chance perks all they want but they shouldn't be complaining about totems or lack of coordination with the other survivors.

Yeah, I disagree for most of the reasons already stated.
I just stopped playing Solo tonight out of pure frustration. SWF being able to communicate with each other is basically like each team mate having a ton of extra information perks. And as @GoodBoyKaru said, the ability to coordinate perks is invaluable. Selecting your own team mates that compliment your play-style is also a massive advantage.
Like I had a match tonight against a Rank 1 tunneling Spirit (and thanks to the matchmaking test, I was the only red rank. The rest were purples so they should have known better). It was a blood bath. Rank 1 Spirits usually are anyways, but this Killer very obviously had BBQ. Not ONE of my team mates seemed to pick up on it. If I was in an SWF I could just call it out and the entire game would have changed. Alas, not one generator was completed. It was a circus of a match where I was just running my ass off all around the map unhooking because I was the only one with BT.
I refuse to believe that somehow that Spirit is having a rougher time as Killer than the Solo survivors being tossed to her like raw meat to a 700lbs crocodile.
There is no matchmaking fix possible to make up for the lack of information, and lack of ability to coordinate. The whole idea of survivor side is playing as a team, but Solo rarely feels one. Most of us have to create self-sufficient builds knowing damn well you can't count on anyone.
So yeah. Solo survivor is ballz lol. Something has to be done to make it less sucky.
While i sympathize with your match, it doesn't counter any of my points.

And thats what Im saying, thats what everyone is saying here.
But that isn't solo survivor being weak that is just people being stupid. You can buff solo survivor to infinity and you will still get people like that. So when we compare the strength of killer vs solo survivor we shouldn't take into account the fact you can get sandbags on your team because no amount of buffing or nerfing will ever fix that.
What i'm saying is yes solo is weaker than swf. But i don't think solo is that much weaker than killer. A big reason why it feels like it is because no one every tries to coordinate builds in lobby or give up second chance perks for info perks like Kindred or Small game.
Yes Kindred will not stop the Claudette self caring in the corner with sloppy. But it will help prevent everyone coming to save you at the same time or no one coming because they think someone else will help them.
When a killer complains about gen times the answer is "Use slow down perks". If they can't find people it's "Use tracking perks". But when solo survivor's complain about gong show's from miscommuncation the answer never seem's to be "Use kindred" "Use bond".
That's why i don't think as some content creators do that solo survivor is way weaker than killer. I'd say they are pretty close in terms of power and i bring this up because if they do give all the QOL buffs to solo survivor then i expect a pretty nice update for every killer outside the top 3 or 4.

I mean, I became killer main from frustration with solo queue survivors, I loop the killer for 5 minutes and the teamates did 1-2 gens and leave me to die at my first hook, and thats because I was red rank surv, I was getting r16-18 survivors, its really frustrating, they dont know when to get the save, they dont know when to go to gens and ######### like that.
And that is bad team mates being bad. Even with base kit kindred, even with a totem counter. Even with base kit bond you will get bad team mates.

However, that's the problem.
Perks are being used to fix a design flaw in the game. Solo survivors are forced to use perks if they want to catch up to SWF, which shouldn't be the case. While SWF will have freed perk slots because they don't need to catch up to anything, they have comms to notify their teammates of what's going on from all personal perspectives.
Meg: "Um, yeah, he's camping me. Just do generators."
Dwight: "Alright, let's gen-rush."
Nea & Jake: "On it!"
Meg: "Hey, since I don't need to use information perks since we can just use comms. Can someone walk close to me so that Comaraderie actives, giving y'all more time to do generators?"
Nea: "Alright done!"
Meg: "Nice!"
This is Kindred without running Kindred. Essentially allowing them to run a different perk that could be helpful.
Yeah and that's the issue with swf vs solo. I agree there.
What i don't agree with is the talking point of killer being way stronger than solo survivor.
A lot of people don't give up their second chance perks to run the perks like Kindred which will make it less painful.
I'm all for buffing solo survivor. But if we do that i'd expect buffs for every killer outside of the maybe the top 3 or 4

Depends a lot on your teamates. The game might be a nightmare against a killer if you play badly, or you might get a nightmare because your teamates are selfcaring in a corner when you are mid chase and the game isnt progressing as you get time for gens.
And i totally get that. But giving a totem counter and base kit kindred and whatever else people think up is not going to stop solo que survivors from self caring in the corner.
People exaggerated how bad solo survivor is and they use team mates being dumb as an example. Team mates are always going to be dumb.

No communication will make even the most skillful survivors look like they are inexperienced.
You can't purely pin the problem on other teammates. Even with good teammates, they still miss out on communication.
Oh i understand that is the biggest reasons why swf has the advantage over solo.
But there are info perks. Namely kindred.

I always just shake my head when people say solo queue is fine or isnt garbage. Like do these people even play solo? Are these troll threads?
"Solo queue is fine", as I watch Meg unhook someone without bt, injured, in front of the killers face. "Yup, were going to win this one boys".
Yeah you get dumbass survivors. It's gonna happen. We can buff solo all we want but it isn't going to fix low iq plays like that.
Solo is only considered bad because of people like that and miscommunication. Kindred itself is a huge help.
Just because you get bad team mates does not make the role itself weak.

I find this rather confusing because unless you have a direct los on the surivor
they basically are a slower spirit they could leave the loop while you try a mind game and you would not know.
Simmlar to how you wouldn't know what the spirit is doing
Ok now I've said my piece. yours
No see it's fine that there is no counter play to a perk but the spirits whole power needs counter play

No amount of perks is going to suddenly put a brain in some of your team's heads.

1) and that's an issue that should also be addressed. Because one side suffers an issue doesn't justify making the other suffer the same issue, it justifies fixing the issue.
2) That I can't fault, but it's consistently awful for solos so.
3) Cross-play exists.
4) Refer to point 1.
I'm all for buffing solo que to get stronger, but the only thing im worried about is when people try to paint this huge gap between killer and solo survivor, it makes me think that if they ever do buff solo then killers won't get that much of a compensation.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
The issue is using perks to fix design flaws when swf don't need to. Which is my entire problem with solo.
That and the awful matchmaking leading to people not saving on hook even with Kindred.
And the inability to coordinate builds before the game.
And the lack of information in-game.
And knock out + TTS being solo stop perks-
Actually no there's a lot of issues that need addressing before the game can be remotely close to balance.
Killer also has to use gen slow down to fix gen speeds.
Bad matchmaking will always happen to both sides even to swfs
You can on pc, i can't say for console but you can talk to your team mates in lobby.
Killer's also have lack of info, take info perks.
There are perks that lose their affect vs swf. I wish they could figure out some way to fix it so ill agree with the knock out point.

@Squirrel_Thicc said:
Solo queue is 100% harder than killer. The lack of information and coordination with the team, inability to play with the perks you want, individual skill being almost completley irrelevant, and most importantly the matchmaking makes solo queue a terrible experience.
And even if you refuse to believe that solo queue is harder than killer, you can't deny that solo queue is significantly less fun than swf and killer for most people.
The fact that your team mates are bad does not make the role itself weak

Im sorry but I cant take this answer seriously as you suddenly speak like some all knowing being, you dont know about any of this.
Its also pretty contradictory "they will ignore the secondary objective" sooo you are saying they dont care about bp then, "if survivors get more bp then queues would significantly increase" soooo they DO care about bp.....
If survivors cared about BP then genrushing wouldn't be an issue. People would spend time healing and trying to get in chase
-
Survivor's who cry about the killer tactics are the worst players in the game. They can't adapt so they try to shame the killers into a play style that is more favourable to survivors. Don't listen to anyone who bitches how you play, in fact remember there name and bring NOED next time you see them
