That's just because the new chapter dropped and lots of people want to try out Nemesis, where there's far less new gameplay to test on the survivor side. Give it a day or so and it'll be back to the usual.
I always have longer ques for killer

Rank and pips mean nothing in this game. Why do people care so much about rank? Stop taking the game so seriously.
In regards to survivor DC's, let them DC. They get punished more than you with a time penalty. If a killer DC's the whole game shuts down, so it's only fair that survivors get to safety otherwise it would get abused to no end by killers who want to be dicks. If one survivor DC's you can still get 3 other survivors and pip/safety.
Maybe rank dosn't matter to you but some people are motivated by it to play better and they want something to show

It's only one janitor that balance the game on his break bethween cleaning seasions

Lol you find killer less stressful? I mean I find it more fun. But playing survivor = meh I dont need to xxxx. I have 3 other smugs thats probably gonna do that. When you share the burden with others there is less for you to do and less pressure on you to do it well. Which is why the fewer allies you have left the more stressful it becomes. How weird huh.
As a killer the only allies you have is your perks, add-ons and your power. And if they dont help you out a lot its 100% on you. As I said, I prefer playing like that anyway since I dont enjoy relying on others to win. Especially as you said when the others are just garbage bags with legs. The games where I get those survivors are few, but they do happen. Almost as few as the times I get god tier swf vs my killer. And in either case I consider those games lost from the get go. In those cases I just try and get as much bloodpoints and kills/maybe hatch escape. You might like the playstyle more, but calling it less stressful is just not correct.
When you see 3 gens flying and not a single survivor has been hooked, you are in for bad time. And its entirely on you. Its still possible to win, but you might have to play like a dick.
I don't feel stressed at all when i play video game lol i guess you look at it from the different angle when you are adult.

because this game started as being heavily survivor sided. The fact that you can throw down a pallet in the killer's face and have time to teabag them and then run to the next pallet or make a mistake and cover it up with a second chance perk proves this. Survivors have always been the power role in this game. Hell, if you're a killer and you kill too efficiently, you can't even rank up. You are supposed to let survivors go. Meanwhile survivors do not afford the killer any modicum of mercy. The reason why scoring now assumes the first 2 gens will be done near instantly and the reason why bloodlust is even in the game is a testament to how strong survivors are and the devs' unwillingness to balance survivors. Any attempt at making any sort of tournament or competition for this game fails because once you get 4 survivors that know what they're doing on top of giving them the ability to communicate, there is absolutely no hope even for the strongest killers.
Pallets are limited and what do you mean by killlling too efficiently? using mori? or hooking them once and camping them if you hook all the survivors in your match there no way that you won't rank up

Depends on how you look at it.
So the killer has a terror radius so you know where he is at all times.
A red stain so you know where he's gonna strike
Killers are only .6 faster so running in a straight line will buy you 12 seconds of life at the least.
Gens and gate take 420 seconds or 105 seconds each so for the killer to win he needs 30 second find hook chase down hook 12 perfect times...
if you waste a killers 30 seconds he looses a hook and thereby looses the kill/ game.
This can be done solely buy hitting great checks alone. Or bringing two common toolboxes.
The killers physically only option to complete with the time Restrictions is to Camp or tunnel
Thats why they don't do bots. In perfect games Survivors always win.
Any action a survivor normally needs a team to complete against a killer with you can slap on a perk and not need a team. Like self care replacing a team heal or DS replacing carry save or deliver replacing a hook save. Once stacked you have 4 players each able to compete like team themselves. Your outnumbered 12 perks and killers perks outside the meta 6 are mostly pointless
There are stealth killers and perk's that change your terror radious on some maps you can't tell if the killer is right behing wall or above/below you so its not that simple you can't determine always where the killer is and from which side he is coming and something like perfect survivor dosn't exist

Because in game theory (actual game theory not the youtube channel) yiu want to balance around your best players because they are more likely to find ways to break your game. You can fix things at the low end of the spectrum but your best players can usually be far more efficient and find things you didnt intend.
Gonna quote a TF2 video for this one.
When the rocket jumper and parachute got nerfed its because in the hands of the best players, they could jump around the map and never get hit because the control was so good, at lower levels pf play it had a minimal effect because people didnt really use the parachute for air dodging, but it absolutley was used by the best most efficient players.
In DBD im going to use old ruin (just as an example) of low tier balance. You have a lot of survivor players at high ranks able to either power through the perk or simply remove it withing 30 seconds or so. HOWEVER, at the lower end of gameplay survivors that were unable to hit skill checks would get stonewalled until they could start landing skill checks and hunt totems. This caused players to learn and grow in the game. What happened is we balanced against the lower tiers of players, now it does not affect skill checks at all, removing the incentive to learn more about the game. Instead it was replaced with a totem that encourages finishing generators above all else and not letting them wear down. In red ranks this has about the same effect that it did before but made the lower tier ranks have a much easier time because there is less skill required to counter it.
A lot of the changes BHVR does are geared towards the lower end of play involving survivors, the problem this has is it is much easier for
A. Survivors to get to ranks and prestiges where they are mismatched. And
B. Makes it more difficult for new players to want to play killer. It is true high tier and tip tier players will be able to continue playing their favored killers, billy, nurse etc... But it disincentives new players to stay playing killer. Meanwhile it is easier and easier for survivors to pick up survivor and be good at it
TL;DR Balancing against the highest levels of play usually fixes bugs and helps players to naturally improve
Balacing the game around 1% of the playerbase is just a bad idea look at Nurse she was balances around that 1% and almost nobody is playing her she is one of the worst killer's for the most of the player's do you really think balancing around minority is good idea? And the idea that survivor gameplay is easier than killer is just wrong 90% of the survivor can't loop killer for more than one minute yes they can afk on gen but the true surv individual skill shines during chases.

Quite frankly:
Winning streaks mean nothing because most survivors are bad at the game no matter how you put it. The game is definitely SLIGHTLY survivor sided based on the highest potential on both sides. If all 4 survivors are DECENT at chases, run meta builds AND repair gens at all times even while injured you WILL lose as a killer. Simple as.
However since most people are really bad at chases, scared, self care in a corner even with sloppy butcher and Urban Evade around the map even on red ranks it is fairly easy to win as killer most of the time.
I 4k most of my matches myself on red ranks but more often than not I notice that I didn't chase specific survivors a lot throughout the match which means THEY DIDN'T REPAIR GENS EFFECTIVELY so most 4ks mean nothing.
Play some games on red ranks and ask yourself "what is EVERY survivor ABLE to do right now individually" and you will often notice some of them DID have enough time to pump out gens for several minutes (total)
Thats why its harder to play survivor you need to rely on your team and sometimes they just bad you will never get perfect team on solo q.

Theres a dude on twitter that was up to 300 escapes in a row last time i checked. Ever heard of the depip squad?
Its simple math, if survivors decide to split up and do gens theres very little the killer can do to stop it. Getting 3 to 4k most games is a result of a terrible ranking system coupled with bad matchmaking. Its fine for now but i suspect when they implement skill based matchmaking, assuming it works correctly, this game is going to get fuckung rough for killers
Link proof his Twitch channel/youtube where I can watch his matches.

Killers say it's survivor sided and since they flood the forums every single day, that's what you see the most.
Survivors say the game is killer sided, but they are way less vocal on the forums.
I just wanted see some unbiased opinions when i read all those whining post i feel like solo q surv's should have 90% winrate after all every game after first chase there should be 3 gens done and it's just unrealistic scenarios that they have in their head.

so now it doesnt matter? so that is the one scenario where your definition is met but it still does not really count?
What about games where survivors deliberately kill themselves the second they go down? did the killer win there? and again, what value can we attach to this winning?
Yes the killer won (If he gets other players) and quitters are one of the biggest downsides when playing solo q there is almost no chance of winning (escaping) when one of your teamnates kill's himself on the first hook.
-
@TheHentity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1431433#Comment_1431433
so answer my scenarios then, and also what it means to win.
There is nothing gained from playing against an afk killer or player in general, yeah I guess by your definition you won because you escaped, but was the match of any value at all? any fun? I would consider it a massive waste of time myself so what is the point then?
If every killer from now on would just be afk, the game would die, survivors would be winning the entire time, wow so great....wait no.... no its boring, and they would just stop playing all together.
Afk game's don't matter and killer's that are afk should be reported and banned.

I really doubt it man, no offense
Play at red ranks for some time and let me know
I dunno what you are trying to prove i'm not the greatest killer i lost to swf multiple times but my point is if you are great killer you will win 100% no ma matter if u play against swf or normal solo q and i gave example of a player that achieved that.

Just forcing myself in here, there you go with that little ambiguous concept of "winning"
If a killer camps and kills 1 survivor and the rest leaves, did the killer win? did the survivors win?
If a killer camps and kills 4 survivors, did the kilelr win? did the survivors lose? or was it a completely worthless match for everyone involved?
If the survivors all just stand there afk, the killer downs and hooks them all, did the killer win?
If the killer only wants to throw bottles at survivors and does so the entire game, did the killer lose when all survivors escape in the end?
The point is, there is no real definition of winning in this game, heck there is no real definition even of skill which is why im really wondering how the MMR system is going to work.
Killer win's when he get's 3/4 kills surv win's when he escapes that's my concept of winning in this game there is no other goal to achieve as survivor other than escape

Exactly, Hexy plays hardcore and "dirty" to win and people hate him for it.
As for the OP, I'd say that escaping the vast majority of my matches as Solo and 2-man SWF colors my opinion that the game is more Survivor sided.
So the only thing that you can do as survivor when you are facing good killer is to hope that he won't play hardcore and dirty? that he take pity and let you escape? wow thats great

This is why I find killer less stressful. I sweat so hard as solo Just for some clown to run around taunting the killer with a flashlight and going down, or someone who takes a hit....then runs into the basement for a save anyway easily giving the killer 2 basement hooks.
I have a much better winrate as killer than solo survivor. The days of playing solo and getting a good team are long gone.
Its not just about randoms in solo q i feel like no matter how hard i try if the killer decide that he wan'ts me out of the game or just camp one person early in the game it's super hard to recover and win with 3 people

I watch hexy, he will literally hard camp people to win if things arent going his way, he did it yesterday I believe LOL. Which is exactly the "ermmm tactic" mentioned in the post you quoted.
So you agreed if the killer plays well and want's to win he will achieve 100% winrate you can't do that with survivor no matter how hard you try or how well you play.
-
@TheHentity said:
you have to take it in a general approach ,remember that there is a lot of discussion on what winning even is in this game, its not set, its very subjective.
But, a good survivor team will always beat a good killer, killers can obviously deploy certain ermm tactics to do well but does anyone consider that a win?
Then why some people like Hexy didn't lost in months when he plays both against normal teams and swf daily explain please
-
it's impossible to play "perfect" when you have 4 different people one bad player can lose the game for entire team its much easier for the killer to play perfect when he doesn't need tor rely on random people to win.

He just gets one M1 and he wins the game. If you are a good Oni.
Maybe but he wouldn't insta down us on the first gen and we could play the game and have fun before he catch us with his power so its okay for me I like playing against Oni
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Yeah LF is completely different on loops now. No more needing to piggyback before chainsaw, and he can whizz around most loops with an instadown.
This all gets ignored though because killer mains take it for granted. Its all about “muh billy” for them. In their eyes no killer should ever be nerfed, only buffed.
Yup its funny to me when people complain about state of the killers and say that surv is a power role in this game.
There are players that have 100+ winstreak they just take 4 kill's for granted and when they don't get it they get mad 🙄

Well it is your own fault for clumping up early game against a Billy, that's just how it is. The same would happen against an Oni.
Oni would one shoot us on the first gen with his m1 attack how?
