They deliberately waited with revealing that the outfits will return next year so people would buy them because of FOMO. They could’ve easily told this on the first day when everyone was asking but that would hurt their profits

If people let themselves trick by fomo its there problem every company ever trys to make money

Well if you run into a invisible wraith don't try to squeeze by him just turn around and try to a different loop better then getting hit

Bad sport doesn't mean it's not efficient or that the killer didn't win the game. It means they didn't care at the time about the other player's experience. Had this Mikaela been a bot, sure, that would have been unreproachable. But we're matched against actual people and a lot of players on both sides are quick to forget that.

Survivors also lose from things outside of their control. It's not specific to killer.

I'm pretty sure we already had the hatch&entitlement debate on another thread though, and neither of us could change the other's mind. A repeat of it is not necessary =)

I don't want to forget there is an actual human on the other side but pvp games are kinda bound to being a bit frustrating for one side when they are losing but the round is not finished yet. A few years ago I was a big fan of pvp in world of warcraft and you often got pushed into spawn if your team was losing and all you could really do was sitting there blizzard tryed to fix that to make it easier to come out of the spawn without being killed to atleast try to fight back even if you lose.

BHVR should work on it so it is less frustrating when you lose as survivor and at the same time give the killer a fair chance to get the 4k without losing to rng

  • @HugTheHag said:

It's not reportable, just bad sports.

Is it nice to be the third survivor? No but I wouldn't say it's bad sport cause the killer clearly won the game but his 4k hangs on that stupid gamble mechanic that's called hatch.

I don't want to act super entitled but when I am down to one survivor and his team hasn't done the gens I should get all 4 kills I don't know how many adept got ruined cause the hatch is a little..... And spawns often near either the killer or the surv and I don't like losing a kill to something 100% out of my control

  • I get where you coming from that you want to punish that behavior and capitalise on the enemies bad play but the one that did the bad play had no punishment at all. But I also can see why it's instinctively to go for the unhooked guy cause when we assume he has no otr it's an easy down the one that unhooked may has two hits to go cause you may only realize what's going on when it's to late to get the first hit before he can run. Maybe we should make a mechanic that helps you to punish the one that does the bad play. Something like if a survivor unhooks within 5 seconds after the hook he gets exposed that would not benefit camping but it would punish every hook farmer out there

Right, but you're ruining the game for other players by utilizing a mechanic that shouldn't be in the game.. And by shouldn't, I mean, you basically stop a player from playing so you can win. In other games, this would be considered exploitation. Also yes, some killers do tunnel just to be toxic, and I'm sure you know the ones. I'm also not talking about tunnelling as in I was the only survivor the killer could find. I mean straight back-to-hook-Andy, I take a hit and he goes for the person I just got off the hook and was in the middle of healing. I've even gone so far as to take a down and the killer would rather leave me slugged to continue tunnelling.

Base-kit borrowed time has done nothing to fix this issue, by the way. Just like Base-kit unbreakable will do nothing to fix the slugging issue.

It is refreshing to go against killers who do not tunnel and camp, however, when 87% of games are lost due to camping and tunnelling that would insinuate a major problem for the game. And if this is the direction that behaviour is taking the game, then can they just come right out and say so so those of us that don't want to lose non-stop and don't find that fun, can quit and move on?

Nope, because that would cut into their bottom dollar. So we're stuck in this middle ground where they say "we hear you", while simultaneously ignoring.

But hey! sure glad they fixed locker saves.

You have very valid points and I think you are right but cut that last line. That only makes you look like an entitled survivor that wants killers to be npcs cause it says hey my problems are the most important when there are a hundred problems bhvr needs to adress

  • So what the game is evolving and changing and getting new stuff. What did you do when you first started? Did you researched for hours or did you just played the game and learnt all the stuff?

Just play it and learn it the natural way or if you don't want that cause you want to be prepared for everything sit down and learn. Do you want the game to stop and never change or getting new stuff

I think plague is infinity tier 3 myer's on steroids. I think she's best killer in term of being #########-test for survivor skill-level. I would say what marks a good survivor is being able to play the entire game injured vs a m1 killer and optimize generator efficiency. I think Infinity tier 3 myers and plague are good entry points for testing the survivor skill-level. I never understood why m1 killers with unlimited instant down capacity are underrated.

Its like saying legion is underrated because he can injure the entire team.

I think many people underrated her because she is also a test for killer skill at the same time. If the survivor never cleanse you basicly play a m1 killer. Sure you only need one hit but many killer player dislike m1 looping even if it's only one hit. That's why killer like nurse blight and now weaker are popular

So you want to promote tunneling off hook or are you saying both people should be protected on the unhook so the killer cant really chase either person

Nah he wants a world where you can wait 0.1 seconds after the killer hooked to rescue your buddy and then both of you can run away laughing while the killer cant do anything about it.

Camping sucks and needs to be worked on but we can't prevent camping just to make it possible to either don't defend your hook or make unhooking in the killers face easy because that woulnd not only work in a facecamp scenario but also with hook bombing and that should never be rewarded cause it's a bad play. There is a reason why we have something called unsafe unhook

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3256868#Comment_3256868

Agreed. I would like some kind of scaling factor in the game that makes it progressively harder the better you do. This shouldn't be considered as 'punishment for winning', because you're still winning, you're just not winning so hard. It's an equalising factor, which will make instances where one side is completely wrecked by the other harder, and should reduce the number of 'hopeless' games.

Something like; gens are repaired faster the fewer survivors are left in the game, or slower if multiple gens are repaired without losing a survivor.

Throw in a minor anti-slugging tool, like "when all survivors in the trial are hooked or in the dying state, they can pick themselves up without the use of a perk" to prevent slugging for the 4K.

Things like this would serve as a buffer to the snowball effect, and make the extreme 0Ks and 4Ks the exception rather than the rule.

Besides that though, I think a 'good' result or 'win; for the killer should be a 3K or 4K (not just exclusively a 4K). And a 1K should be regarded as a win for the survivors. Because there should be a threat of being killed, and the killer shouldn't appear to be a joke that's bullied by 'powerless' survivors. So a 1K should be somewhat 'guaranteed', though I'm not sure of a 'fair' mechanic that would do that. I supposed my gen speed suggestion above might have that effect anyway. Plus a mechanism for compensating the first survivor killed would be good too, something like a 'token kill' BP bonus if you're the only survivor who doesn't escape.

This would mean that the typical range of kill results would be 1K to 4K (with 4K's being rarer than 3Ks), instead of 0K to 4K, which would mean that the average kill rate all things being equal would be between 50% and 60%, rather than a flat 50%.

    You are so right.

I think a 0k should never happen only if you face survs that are way out of your lvl and then the game should slap it self for allowing such matchmaking. A 4k should only happen if either the matchmaking screws up or you face a group of total meme lords that just have fun

  • For me it's legion.

I loved them from the second I watched there trailer even tho I was a bit bummed when I found out I can't put on a survivor act to get near them. But I fell totally in love with that run around an stab people playstyle and the whole thing of many people wearing a mask being all the same entity is just nice

  • @Akumakaji said:

I main Pyramid Head because I really, really don't like hook perks. I ignore them all, as I was made to drink survivor tears and send them to the far corners of the map. I practiced my POTD until my thumbs bleed, but now I can hit survivors through shack walls blindfolded and wallow in their misery. I honed the Pyramid Head wombo combo of hook, tunneling of hook and cage and tunneling out of cage into The Entities maw in 1:04min and am working hard to speed run it in under 1min. I did a TOS run and the theoretical minimum is 49s; its though, but not impossible.

That is so cool my friend love to see a fellow gamer putting his energy into something he really loves

  • Some people are really special.

You know that you talk about a interaction with another player right. If it was something you could do with nemi zombies no one would care but I guess it would not be that funny if there is no other player suffering right?

There isn't a problem with zombie AI, from a code standpoint. It's that it's tuned way down.

When Nemesis was first introduced the zombie AI was great. Downright vicious at points. Insert enough whine/#########/moan and it was nerfed. Now it's tuned down so far that they're barely above pieces of environment.

And you still find survivor complaining about them caus in 1 of 20 games the zombie by exident blocked a path

  • First of all they are working on a solution to camping and tunneling just because they can't give you one next week doesn't mean they aren't working on it. And second you can go thank the twitch/yt bubble for loosing lockersafes. Even one of my favorite streamers started to to pull that stuff on the artist map for like 2hours a day every week and there where a lot of videos lately just showing how you can troll the killer on certain maps as long as you want basicly

  • Well I sure hope so. If they manage to make a bot play blight and actually bounce around there is no excuse to let this two rotting stupids run any longer into walls

Killers don't need no buffs no more. Killers are strong enough to deal with swf. Anything else is either skill issue or bad luck (messed up tile RNG, being unprepared against prepared squad). Neither is fixable with even more killer buffs.

Solo Q needs massive attention asap.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3238153#Comment_3238153

It's always the survivors who are bad, need to adapt and git gud. Never are killers skill a debate here huh. So funny.

Maybe not all killer need buffs but some definitely nned some. A move like that general killer buff was nice and all but we need to take a deeper look into the killers that really suck cause they aren't suited for swf most of them Aten suited for good solos

  • Some killers have even special survivor they let escape. If you face me and you are Rebecca Nancy or Steve your chances are good I ignore you if I see another surv and as long as you dant bm me you will most likely get hatch

The killer has to begin a chase but if he goes back to the 3GEN because they don't want to be baited then no l, it's the refusal to chase as in they will just stand there looking at you...now if they see survivors lurking literally near by then no. It's a case by case scenario but more than likely won't result in a ban since most cases survivors are just sore they let themselves fall into the 3gen trap.

Nah that's not right Mandy once talked about the specific situation when doc keeps all survs in madness 3 se they can't break the 3 gen but isn't chasing them or downing them.

You can't be reported for guarding your 3 gen because there would not be a 3 gen tactic if you need to follow the first surv you see like a stupid sheep

  • I would count matchbox as an meme addon to and all that needs is to don't be an iri anymore

  • Naaaaahh give me like 10 more they are super janky and love to wander of into corners or getting stuck would love a killer that play like a puppet master

I mean they need work but I be totally honest with you if they would change them completely and do a Freddy move I would probably quit. Not because I am mad that I can't tormented survs with something they hate but because I lost something I only bought because I liked how it was and your are right I think no one here envys the devs caus no matter what you do you spit in the face of one group

I feel like it's not that unreasonable to want a middle ground between mending sim and nurse sim

I don't think there can be that middle ground because how would you change up legion without either changing them completely wich sucks for legion mains or make them weak af.

You need to keep that fast running stabbing thing cause that's legion and one of the reasons they where my first killer I bought. But for that to work you need the mending as a time consumer or its not viable

  • Because survivors don't know what they want.

They dont want to face legion cause the games are to long and that's boring but they also dont want to face nurse or Blight because the games are so short cause it's either slam gens or get slammed

People want to face killer they can loop and loop and play with but without an actual risk to die

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236819#Comment_3236819

Oh that's not true at all. Nurse can m1 outside ability. Being in loop with nurse requires mindgames or you go down in 2-3s. So you sometimes end up vaulting into (not blinking) nurse.

Also this is much less common (I think this is low elo exclusive thing), but nurse still can get bloodlust. Meaning she eventually is quicker then survivors. 100% with active agitation. She is just to very high degree not good with hitting people without ability. But it's far from impossible

I mean if she was as fast as hag or atleast as fast as a survivor but I really struggle to see that I may look it up later maybe I can find some videos to this matter

  • @Jay_K said:

So I am the survivor who is stealthy and works behind the scenes. A lot of games I don't get hooked because I don't intereact with the killer at all. Does this make me a bad player...No it doesnt. Does this make me a team player still...Yes for the way i play it does.

I may not interact with the killer but thats because I can't loop for #########. If i try and loop a killer no matter what killer it is then I go down in seconds and i'm no good to the team anyway. However If i actively stay away from the killer, hide when needed I can still crank out gens, get unhooks, heal the survivors and do my best to help everyone get out.

Now this doesnt mean us stealthy players are all the same. yeah there are some real peices of work out there who often stealth the whole game, not doing gens, not taking hits and not helping just so they can escape but I think its kinda unfair to assume that 0 hooked survivors are all the same.

So many games that I escape i'm pulling more points than my team even when we all escape because I generally will max out 3 aspects of the pip system ignoring boldness. Its all about how you like to play.

    Exatcly how I play survivor.

I can't loop for the love of God and I do more for the team when I do gens and hex and unhooks and stay away from the chase cause I will not kepp the killer at bay for 2 min so you guys can do gens I get 20 secs max if it's not blight or wesker if it's nurse I could just not run at all and that 20 sec is when I have good loops and a bunch of pallets to spam.

Never understand why I am bad for being good at stealth maybe other survs should learn to stealth better so they can vanish when they are on death hook

Considering the theme of most of these topics, they want BHVR to visit the camper's house, steal their pets and break their kneecaps.

I would really like to know cause let's be real any kind of penalty would be to harsh when you get called a camper for crossing the hook because midwich is just a long tunnel and I sure as hell aren't walking all the way around just to not cross the hook

Yeah of course that would only work if you don't have crossplay

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236626#Comment_3236626

I'm not sure if you are missing my point here so I will elaborate.

Many killers can't make use of all perks the same way or in all scenarios. Freddy or Huntress for example cannot make use of Unnerving Presence like a Trapper or Doc can. Pyramid Head cannot make use of many hook related perks if he chooses to use his cages. Blight and Legion cannot make use of Exposed perks while using their power. The list goes on.

You see many killers cannot use everything with the same effect or only while not using their power. These killers are not even that strong in many cases.

Making Nurse's blink hits special attacks would only limit the use of already strong perks combined with a strong chase and high mobility killer like Nurse.

If Nurse would be almost exclusively M2 than mainly these combinations would vanish:

    1. Starstruck + Lethal + Awakened Awareness (yes this somehow still works like it did in the PTB) or any other combo with Starstruck which are widely disliked by many players

    2. Full Regression builds with Jolt (she still has PR, Pop, Pentimento etc

    3. Sloppy Butcher with anything anti healing

    4. Franklin's

    5. Exposed builds

Mainly points 1 and 2 are why I want blinks to be M2. They are just not fun. Other killers with unfun builds are mostly not that strong (e.g. Impossible Skillchecks Doc).

But there is a big difference in working bad cause the terror radius is short or stuff like phead can't use certain perks when he uses the cage because he can choose not to use the cage and even huntress can have use from unnerving presence as a Legion main I can tell you noed has safed me a bunch of kills when I was new cause I just don't have to use my power and run them down but nurse can't use m1 perks without the blink cause she is slower then a survivor so she will never catch them so she can't use them and that is not OK and I think bhvr thinks the same cause making her blink attacks m2 would be so easy and they like the easy way

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236581#Comment_3236581

That would effectively make her completely unplayable on console who have it rough as is, especially with Nurse.

I mean i don't know how it is to play on console and I might sound stupid and offensive but when we come to a place where it's so hard to play certain killer on console we should start thinking of if we maybe cut pc and consoles from each other so they can make killer work different on console maybe we for the future game devs should think about if there game does work on consoles instead of going for the money

Probably sound rude really don't won't to be rude I just don't know what to do in these debate cause the two are so different from each other

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236537#Comment_3236537

    I think that

    1. Nurse blink attacks should be M2 attacks - > fixes Exposed combos as well as continuous use of perks like Sloppy Butcher or Jolt. They are not necessary on Nurse.

    2. Removing range and cooldown reduction addons (anti fatigue is fine I think)

    would be enough.

Removing her ability to go through walls would just destroy her (that's why the 3 blink addon was so bad). And the 1 blink addon which increases her speed to 105% is also quite bad tbh.

    2. Oke I can see that but 1. Not.

With that you would just go there and say nurse can't use m1 related perk cause let's be real how often does a nurse hits you without her blink?

That would be pretty scummy cause you would rob dedicated nurse mains alot of perks they but time and money into and it would set a dangerous example cause then the flood of people woulnd not end that complain about perks on other killers as well. Killer x should not use perk x cause he is good with it killer y should not use perk categorie y cause they can use it to good.

When you start that flood it will never die down and people will rage like hell because "you did it on nurse".

And if you spin that wheel longer you will come to stuff like swf should not use flashlights or Sabo cause they are to good with it

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236581#Comment_3236581

Having no lunge would be quite rough for newer players especially... I mean I've played a few dozen hours of nurse and I still need my lunge to hit most blinks so not having that would be quite the struggle man, I think it is impossible to be so precise with every blink that you would not need the lunge.

But you already know in which direction she is gonna blink, she always blinks in the direction she faces and sure she can change that rather quickly with a flick, but the same goes for the distance with looking up or down... I don't think that would really help as even a fully charged blink can become shorter when you look up or down so it might even be more confusing for some people as it might obstract vision and not help much since the nurse can still change the destination of the blink immediatly.

I think it's rather fine that you can guess how long to blink is just by listening to the duration of her holding the blink and her fist being closed or not.

That would certainly maker her harder but maybe that's the price we need to pay for her not losing her identity in a full on rework like freddy

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236534#Comment_3236534

4,6 m/s ist 115% so the base ms for most killers... 4,4m/s is hag, spirit, deathslinger, trickster and Nurse right now has 3,85 m/s or 96,25% according to the wiki...

The worst thing about the whole idea is basically you cannot even make distance against her, because she does not need her blink for mobility so she will just run after you normally and then just 1 blink hit you... Yes it makes her weaker, but then what? It would be more unfun to play against her in chase... Every killer is supposed to have an interaction with the survivor in the sense of counterplay, but what exactly do you do against nurse? pre-drop pallets while out of side? Then she ll just hit you as soon as she gets vision and you cannot leave the loop because she is 4,6 m/s now and can just follow without much of a problem xD

Like seriously what is the counterplay supposed to be? Find high walls like against slinger? Well she ll just follow you around until she sees you and will hit you then, she won't even have to guess where you went as she cannot blink through walls so the only thing you'll get out of this is more unavoidable hits you' ll get and basically no form of counterplay...

    Good points indeed.

Maybe give her no lunge after blink so she has to more or less hit it like a ranged killer. She already has an audio that indicates the blink so you could run into her so she blinks past you.

Maybe give her an visual indicator like a fog cloud where she blinks to or go with her lore and make a screen overlay of a ghostly white breath indicating the direction where she blinks from your pov

  • This is actually a good compromise on that matter. Hook bombing is still risky but camping gets a bit weaker

  • @Lastchild said:

    @Starrseed

    - Nurse can ignore windows and pallets.

     - Its Cooldown after blinking is 4 seconds.

Yeah that could work I don't know how fast 4.6 is cause I just don't know that but when it's fast enough to get m1 hits on survs so you don't rule out m1 perks for her it should work and with enough fatigue her blinks are strong but when you don't land it the surv can run could be fair would like to see that tested

I really love the aesthetic of nurse but can't play her for the love of God if matchbox where a brown/ meme addon I would probably play her pretty often

  • Yeah or you just play demo then.

First rule for a rework is to keep the spirit of character. Nurs blinks throu stuff legion runs and stabs Mayers stalk for power up.

Rework it to be better/ less oppressive but keep the spirit

  • I think the big problem is that nurse isn't easy to nerf.

When you make her blink attack m2 you need to speed her up because it's not realistic to hit anyone without a blink but all perks should work for all killers so you need to compensate.

Same goes for fatigue. When you want it to be punishing when she messes up you need to speed her up because blinking is her Form of movement and in the end we want to make her more fair not just bad so no one plays her.

So nerfing her isn't that easy because you don't want her to just run down survs and the blink on them and you don't want to end up with wesker but her can go through walls.

Now you could go and say we'll then we rework her completely but bhvr don't really like that. On one site it's money cause it costs to rework her but you can't really sell her and on the other hand you risk to lose player and after Freddy bhvr don't want to take a beloved character away from the players that lover for what she is op or not plus it's a money thing again

  • I don't mind it I like the looks I think it's a relatively fair map and as a Legion main it gets bonus points from me.

Funny thing tho a streamer I follow has talked about the map lately and that the most cheaters he faced are on that map and that is something I see as well every single cheater I ever faced where on that map

  • Something I often see as a Legion main is people go crazy at the start of the game to deny frenzy hits and waste really good pallets they could need when I chase without frenzy or they run like hell after they got hit but there are other survs that aren't hit.

Stay calm don't value your first healthstate to much legion will take it from you and when you are the first in a frenzy chain just 99 the mend and keep working you are mostly invisible to me cause all the other survs have a big red loud mark on them

Maybe BHVR is the problem, the Nurse player second.

Nah the people that dc are the problem. You refuse to learn and you refuse to train.

I hate to face nurse I go down in seconds and I know it's because I don't give care about learning how to run her.

Sure she is the strongest killer and there certainly are addons that could need a nerf but let's say they follow the request and nerf her and make her just bad. Who is the next one? There will alwqys be a strongest killer when nurse is gone people will insta dc against blight cause he is to strong and when he is nerft the pick wesker or spirit.

You will always have that sentiment of x is strongest so it should be nerfed that will never go away because people just don't like losing and many people are even saying they don't want to put effort into getting better because a game should not turn into a chore and then blame everything else so they can feel better.

There are countless survs out there that can run a good nurse and by that I don't mean a 5 gen chase because that's unreasonable and would mean the killer is to weak/matchmaking was bonkers. I know I know many survivor Dorn want to hear that but you are supposed to go down in a timely manner and land on the hook

  • I would like to see stuff like addon usage so you can see if a killer is only played with certain addons so we can better se what needs to be worked on so the killer isn't relying on these addons

  • I mean the base idea is really good. I always liked to face phead cause I love the cage it's just some variations that makes games a bit less stale in my mind.

There is so much you could do starting from simple things like the awesome looking hooks we had on the stranger things map that still are hooks to stuff that maybe isn't looking like a hook at all.

Maybe copie pheada cage but turn it into a normal cage standing on the ground. An iron maiden would be awesome to

So flashlight timing fix should be reverted? Because removing 1 bad thing (bm, health issues) is no good if we also remove good thing (lesser consumption, easier readjust and better 360). Oh right. We can swap more broken things for less broken only if it helps killers. Noted.

As was stated multiple times. All you need to do is keep him on the ground. That's it. He will not do anything for prolonged time just for a single hit.

But to the topic. Maybe make DS 7 or 8s, but disable it also when healed or outside chase for 15s (countdown can start immediatelly after unhook if killer does not camp). Reset and double the timer when downed and get rid of 60s cd it currently has. This should almost guarantee intended usage only.

I think slugging is not a good answer to that problem especially when the planed bt basekit really comes live. The I slug and he gets away or I don't slug and he gets away for misusing a antitunnel perk as a weapon.

And it's not like that would just happen in one of hundred games this would quickly become standard

    Survivor items that are garbage

    Flashlight / Flashbang

    Maps

    Keys

    -

Basically forces toolbox . medkit run

There is no reason for keys and maps being so bad but flashlights are on a different page. They can't be really good because there effect is already really good

i literally said in the comment that people will abuse it, but is the only way to discourage tunnelling. if we want to fix tunneling we need to do this because good sportmanship cant be expected.

But that's not the way to go. Just imagine how it would feel for a killer to do the right thing and don't tunnel just for the unhooked surv to come and use that anti tunnel perk as a weapon.

It would certainly help with tunneling and with the long killer q times cause we would just go back to the before times where we didn't have enough killers.

It works on any health state loss.

It even triggers if a survivor uses For the People.

    Thats surprisingly consistent

looks like they think the kill rate is still to low and they add more unsafe tiles.

mindgames? nah, thats that overwhelms the players.

Nah buddy mindgames are one of the few skill machanics in this game and since mmr still acts like a drunken teen throwing random stuff in a vdlender for a cool smoothie we can't have that
