Christ dude, it's not that hard.
"Speak for yourself. The event has been benefiting me on killer side. Good ol Nemesis can whip survivors and tier up, and they can't do anything about it. Plus the event has made Clown actually decent, with the Exposed bottles add on."
Also any perk that requires basic and/or secondary attacks will activate by hitting a snowman, that has a survivor inside. Most of the time, you can smack the survivor before they can even get fully in the snowman, and they get hindered, because of it. You aren't looking for advantages to the event. Only wanting to complain.
Dude, knock it off. Nobody started getting narky until you decided to stir the pot.
Yes - some killers get a small advantage, although nothing like the advantage survivors get when they use these cleverly.
The person you are speaking to is using a Legion avatar. Before holding forth like that - consider that his likely main has their kit completely broken by the snowmen, which is either a bug or a massive oversight.
I really don't get the white knighting here. The Halloween event demonstrated that BHVR can do an event that is fun and interesting for both sides. There is no excusing the bizarre interaction between the snowmen and Ghostface/Legion abilities.

It's called adapting to new mechanics. If your killer isn't benefitting from the event, play a different killer, or wait until the event is over. Its only a temporary thing. And Legion mains should be used to getting screwed anyways, being the weakest killer in the game, that is. Feral Frenzy all 4 survivors, and then be a M1 killer the rest of the match.
I...honestly hope you are just baiting now.
'It's totally fine for x killer to have their kit broken by the event because that killer is already weak' is...quite the take.
It's also interesting how you've switched from 'the event benefits killers, no really just git gud' to 'well, the event screws some killers over, but it's totally fine - they can just not play the killer they want to or quit'.
By this logic - why bother testing anything?
Bloody hell...

Yes. It says using these 3 perks....not these 3 only. Using another killer that can benefit from M&A is wat im looking for its his only good perk and not good for his style.
Hah!
Well, I learned something today.
At least I knocked out my Doctor Adept at the same time (one of the few I was missing on my mains actually).

Yeah you're right. Killers let every single thing in the game bother them, rather than use new mechanics to their advantage.
Some killers have a slight advantage from the event. Some get nothing. A good few (Ghostface, Legion, Twins) have their kits completely broken by the snowmen - which remove Mark and Deep Wound.
It would be one thing if survivors were just having fun and memeing around but 9/10 groups I've faced over the past few days are using them as a pseudo-BT or a pretty nasty bodyblock tool.

I mentioned two advantages in my previous comment. Maybe read what I say, before coming at me.
Nobody is coming at you.
People are just disagreeing with you.
If you are a Ghostface or a Legion main, yeah - you'd be pretty annoyed at this event. This clearly wasn't tested properly.

It's...eh.
The second you run into a savvy group, they'll just boon the Plaything totems so you can't Penti them.
Not to mention that the majority of SWF groups these days just straight up ignore Plaything totems and rely on coms to negate them.
I'll run it on Cenobite and Plague, but I still get more value out of Ruin, Pop and even Surge and Pain Resonance these days.

It takes 10 more seconds than Booning a Dull, which is far less time than what you will save due to Circle of Healing (heck, even Exponential and, situationally, Shadow Step) being broken as hell.
Shadowstep and Exponential are...okay. CoH is just stupidly powerful, as it gives the entire group a souped up Self Care that stacks aggressively with other healing stuff for the price of a single perk slot on one player and Overcome...well, if it wasn't competing directly with Dead Hard that would have a similar issue.
Boons as a whole are just...dumb. I'm astonished that they went live as is, and have stayed this way. Everyone and their dog agrees that snuffing them should at least break the totem.

But there were certainly people more wrong.
Sure.
But...I honestly understand.
A while back I had a number of really, really nasty games back to back. I was trying to do that bloody 'down survivors with Main Event' thing - and I hate playing Trickster.
Everything, from a lag switcher slowing me to permanent 'carry speed' and taking the game hostage, followed by a pair of survivors that played hide and seek for almost an hour because they gave me a 3gen, several other very obnoxious groups and capped off with a Russian TTV premade that refused to complete the final gen and just memed on me for 30 minutes with sabos, boons and flashlights - and when I finally went AFK, they told me they were reporting me for 'non participation'.
I ended up taking a week's hiatus from the game. If I'd kept playing, the next time I ran into a BM group - yeah, I can only imagine what I might have done if the chance had arisen.
It's not a good thing, but 'tit for tat' is one of the most powerful human instincts. The technical term is 'reciprocity'.

This guy had the basement challenge which (I HAD NO IDEA UNTIL END GAME CHAT WHEN HE ADMITTED HE WAS DOING THE TOME CHALLENGE) was to bring us all to the basement and have us die.
But I said no and kept escaping him and running as far away from the basement as I could.
He got so mad and decided to lock me in a corner until I disconnected, I planned to wait him out, see if he'd DC first but I had other things to do that were far more important. I'm posting it here because I'm not sure where to report someone like this because the in-game reporting system does nothing.
I can agree survivors can be pretty rude and unpleasant from times, it's also real frustrating sometimes when you're even doing a challenge that can't get finished because someone decided to screw you over.
But as far as the game goes I wouldn't hold them hostage in a corner because I couldn't complete challenge. In my mind I would, but I wouldn't go as far as to actually do it.
Report him. That's textbook 'holding the game hostage'.
That said - it wasn't obvious that he was doing the archive challenge?
This strikes me as a 'nobody was in the right' situation.

I don't have that much of an issue with the 'use the killer's 3 perks and get 3 kills' challenges. They have less strict requirements than an adept - you can use whatever killer you like, you can bring a fourth perk, it doesn't matter if someone gets hatch or if you only hooked everyone once or if you didn't meet an arbitrary threshold of chases or gen defense.
Doc has better perks than, say, Wraith or Huntress, and we've had to do both of those in past archives. Monitor's great and Overcharge isn't terrible if your fourth is PGTW.
Wait, you can use another perk? I could swear I tried this and it didn't work.
And yeah, I'm glad I wasn't around for the Wraith one.

I didn't even consider this. For some reason I assumed it had to be on Doctor.
The Static Blast one is pretty easy though. Go to Midwich, The Game or DDS. Try not to kill anyone too early (and hopefully nobody DCs). Used:
Distressing+Discordance+Lethal Pursuer+BBQ with Calm and Order purple addons.
Got pretty lucky and nailed it first time.

Something I haven't seen brought up yet is the genre and age rating as a defense for BM and I think I'll play devils advocate here.
DBD is a horror game that is rated 17+ meaning that only adults or people close to adults should be playing it. While kids will still play it, I think that's more on the parents to ensure their kid(s) are mature enough for the content and to understand what comes with it and if they should speak to them about what is happening.
Secondly, the horror genre is supposed to invoke negative feelings. It wants to scare, repulse, shock, anger, etc their audience. To make them feel tense, to bring up a sense of anxiety and panic. Considering how much BM effects some people I would consider it to fit into the horror aspect of DBD. Just as some people can handle watching a body get mutilated and others would faint at the mere thought, I think BM fits into the same sort of category. Some people can handle it with no reaction while others can't and it's up to each person to understand their limits and take proper action. To either understand it's not inherently real or to separate ones self from it when they've been pushed too far.
While a different argument could and maybe should be made for kids games or other genre's, DBD is again, a 17+ horror game. I think standard BM is par the course.
This may be the most corkscrew logic defending being a toxic little gremlin I've seen in ages.
Where do I even start here?
- You'd expect adults to act with a bit more sportsmanship and empathy.
- If I saw my son being a jerk to people in any videogame, he would likely be spending the rest of the week doing yardwork rather than playing.
- By this logic Halo is a horror game. Horror is about tension and fear. Not disgust, not anger, not frustration. Plus, this is a game. A game is supposed to be fun for everyone involved.
I honestly hope this is thinly disguised bait, because if it isn't...you are the problem here.

Killers are matched anywhere regardless if their mmr is low.
It seems to be at times where there are either very few people playing or too many - this seems to increase the delta between survivor and killer numbers and all sorts of shenanigans start to happen.
It's why weekday mornings and weekend evenings (too few people and too many respectively) are where the absolutely bizarre matches happen. Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are actually pretty reasonable for the most part.

Maybe an effect of long survivor queue times so it just pairs anyone up eventually?
Weekend nights are bonkers - I'll go from a 3man TTV SWF with 6000 hours between them to a full lineup of newbies with 8 hours a piece.
It's probably a matter of too many survivors on at once.

I’ve been trying it myself by using Ruin and Plaything, 5 hexes that can be broken. I have gotten a maximum of 2 because it either got booned or the survivor died causing that plaything hex to become dull again and no one breaking it.
Its a good perk released at the worst possible time.
Once. I think it was on Yamaoka (my...blessed map) and I was running Penti+Plaything+Retribution+TOTH with the express purpose of getting it to 5.
By the time I got there, the game was already well over.
As above has said, it's a fun perk idea but just terribly thought out.
If you could Penti boons? Great. If smashing a boon destroyed the totem? Great.
Right now, a team can just boon things and totally prevent you from using Penti.

Would that be an instance of holding the game hostage? If so, you should probably post a video if you recorded it and report them.
Sadly not.
I think the devs confirmed this a while back - survivors refusing to finish the gens and memeing with sabos/playing hide and seek for an hour doesn't qualify because the killer can still technically win.
And yes OP, generally the best solution is just to AFK and hope you don't get reported for non participation.

You don’t need to be a psychologist to know that DBD is a video game and not real life.
There’s no “tough love.” If somebody gets an uncomfortable feeling from being teabagged in a video game, they should be encouraged to see it for the trivial irrelevance that it is. After all, their reaction is the only thing that can give it power in the first place. That’s not “tough love” but common sense.
I sympathise with anyone getting stressed out etc, but it’s on them to change how they react to it.
This is probably going to get clipped hilariously out of context, but...yeah, video games *are* real life. Everything involving human beings is 'real life'. You aren't being nasty to an AI controlled character, there is a person behind that avatar.
Teabagging or cussing someone out in a videogame is no different than being anonymously spiteful to a stranger IRL.
And again - the onus to change is always on the person doing something wrong, not the people annoyed by it.

I know there will be alot of people that will use that stupid excuse "that's the risk of hexs"
In reality why is it even a risk or fair for your hexs to be spawned on and in sight of the survivors. To lose 2 perks within 16seconds is honestly just stupid.
Hexs or totems in general shouldn't just spawn in the open.
Totems should not be spawned on in sight.
Totems and hexs should not spawn near a gen.
I dont think it's unfair or unreasonable to ask for all totems to be hid in some degree. Or if you wanted to go the extra mile block all totems for a small time early game.
I can assure you lullaby and undying isnt game changing.
I've moved away from hexes as a whole, as of late - unless I'm doing Plaything+Penti.
A whole lot of hexes (Lullaby and Third Seal for example) are just too weak to be as fragile as hexes are.
@MrSlippery said:

You do know Lethal Pursuer, and Undying are a thing. Even without it, it doesn't take 20 seconds to find a survivor. Without Shroud offerings, 1-2 survivors will spawn relatively close to the killer's spawn, and 2-3 will spawn on the opposite side of the map. Having a killer spawn in the middle, like your plan, is the worst spawn for a killer, because that makes it harder to find survivors.
Eh...
I've had games on RPD, Ormond, Eyrie, Haddonfield, Temple and Mother's Dwelling where I've lost 2 gens before even seeing a survivor. If they get a good spawn and you happen to pick the wrong direction at first, it can be extremely frustrating.

It's...yeah. Not the best.
Mained Cenobite for a while. Chains are good when:
- Someone is about to drop a pallet.
- Someone is holding 'W'.
- People fail to juke them.
The main issue is that in any structure, they break almost immediately and that Pinhead can break them himself (why is this a thing?).
He needs a bit of help in his kit somewhere.

I don't understand why many people think Hag is a killer that's S tier or A tier. Every time I'm up against her she rarely gets more than one kill and she is so undeniably terrible at chasing.
At least trapper is 115% and with Hag, you can run her for miles and never get hit. She places a trap? Ok cool just keep running to another loop she won't be able to catch up. She's carrying a survivor? You bet your ass that I'll trigger most of her traps before she gets a chance to teleport.
Sure at low MMR where survivors don't know how to crouch when unhooking she's powerful. But most of the time she gets destroyed by boon totems considering hag mains never chase for a long time.
She's an...odd killer. My absolute favorite but a bit behind the current meta.
A few thoughts.
- She is incredibly reliant on snowballing and can do so rapidly. I'll often lose 2-3 gens with 1 or 2 hooks then cascade the pressure in the midgame.
- CoH really hurts her sometimes, as it does all attrition based killers.
- Good survivors know how to play around her, safely detonating traps etc.
- Her addons are sort of boring, some of them are basically useless.
- Her early game may be the weakest of the entire roster.
- She's very streaky - if you fail to snowball, you'll get 4-outed. If you snowball, it can be an easy 4k. There isn't much middle-ground with her.
- Her playstyle can be really clunky and is certainly not for everyone.
@Marigoria said:

I’ve said before that DS could use a buff to make it better against tunneling. Who knows if it’ll happen.
I think you missed my point.
DS is very good against tunneling. So good, in fact, that killers generally have to play around the anticipation of survivors running DS that it serves as a tunneling deterrent simply by existing (even if nobody is running it).
That said - no. Prenerf DS was ridiculous. It wasn't a tunneling deterrent, it was a straight up extra life. As it stands, the perk is well balanced and the only reason that more people don't run it right now is that there are several SSS class survivor perks that are so strong that you're playing the game wrong for not running them. CoH and Dead Hard are the biggies, with Iron Will as a close runner-up.

For survivor, I like playing efficiently and Bond unlocks that. I also enjoy being the team support, and setting up supportive zones on the fly based on my teams needs. There's actually quite a few tactical decisions you can make with boons in regards to their placement once you're familiar with them.
Yeah, Furtive is one of the...unfortunately several 'why would anyone run this?' perks.
I also love stealth perks, which is why Plaything, Tinkerer and the occasional Dark Devotion find their way onto my bar sometimes.

You did a good job at least coming up with something fun for the Christmas event and I give you props for that. One big undersight though is the snowmen are really fun, but maybe next year give the killers something to play with too. Both sides should have some sort of interaction with the snowmen or give killers something else to play with that adds gameplay for them.
I think that's more what kiler mains are mad about, all this added gameplay to survivors giving out free health states and sure that's fun for the survivor but where is their fun? Where is their stupid/goofy mechanic to play around with? Please think about both sides fun next year. All for bringing back snowmen but bring something to the table for killer to next time around.
Also snowmen obviously need balancing next year, there are a lot of balance issues with them that will need addressed to make them a bit less broken against certain killers.
Everything wrong with snowmen that need fixed next time around:
- If you get exposed by ghost face and you hop into a snowman, you are no longer exposed. Gamebreaking.
- Snowmen shouldn't stun Viktor for the twins, makes him unplayable. Gamebreaking.
- You can't stalk snowmen as Myers or Ghostface, seems a bit unfair.
- Deep wound goes away when you go into a snowman, fix this.
- You lose save the best for last stacks when hitting the obession inside a snowman even though you never actually hurt them, needs fixed. Gamebreaking.
Does anyone know if trapper's traps work on snowmen? Curious about this one.
Can tombstone Myers Mori someone in a snowman? I'm guessing not.
TLDR - I'm all for the snowmen, but the gamebreaking stuff needs fixed next time around.
Yes and no.
I love the idea of the event, but you are correct that the snowmen shouldn't be a mobile locker for survivors that messes with powers.
A lot of this sounds like bugs, which...yeah, it's not like that's happened before.
- Yes, that's totally busted.
- Ditto.
- Eh, this would allow you to spot survivors in snowmen too easily when they are using them for camoflage.
- Yes, not using any DW addons/killers until the event ends for this reason. Was...this even tested?
- I'm okay with this, definitely not gamebreaking and is offset by gaining stacks from other people in snowmen even though you aren't injuring.
The major issue though isn't so much the bugs/exploits but the fact that killers get zero new tools for the event while survivors get such a strong one. At least the pumpkins benefit both sides.

Is it because its too big? Because there's so many loops for Killers? I know the loop in the Library and the East Office is irritating as Hell and i think they should be fixed, but still.
A few thoughts.
As a killer, it's miserable. Some really annoying loops without much counterplay. If you get unlucky, you can potentially lose 2 gens before you see a survivor. On anyone without traversal, it feels like I need to stake out my 3gen as early as possible and focus on defending it - which is totally contrary to my ultra-aggressive playstyle. A lot of killers struggle indoors (Ceno, Huntress etc.) and this is the most extreme example. Hook spawns can be utterly horrible sometimes, I've had multiple situations where I down someone in a position where there is literally no hook within a reasonable distance, or is blocked off by a wall. Boons can cover half the map from a position you'll never find.
As a survivor, it's miserable. Architecture can be so confusing that you'll lose multiple hook states while your teammate attempts to figure out how to reach you. Any killer with traps is nasty as hell. Even finding gens can be difficult. A ton of dead ends. Very, very easy to camp certain hooks.
It's just...not a good map. Not because it favors one side or the other - but because it's too big and too confusing. It's the epitome of 'style over substance'.

Last game I was using Gift of Pain/BBQ (damn BP grind)/Plaything/STBFL, which comes in surprisingly handy even with Engineer's Fang. Engineer's Fang + Original Pain is just nasty for forcing people to go heal, and with all the other slowdown that's doing... wish I had more options to play with, though, but I'm working on it.
But making everyone have to deal with Deep Wound and all his other distractions seems to really limit the amount of regression you need.
Yeah Fang+Pain is just mean. So annoyed that they barely touched Fang but gutted all his fun addons.
That's true - before the Artist patch I'd moved almost entirely away from regression and into pseudo-regression, by giving them extra objectives to accomplish (Plaything+Retribution got so much use). Now I'm back on the Surge train.
Another really fun build for Ceno is:
Blood Favor+Retribution+Devour+TOTH with 'quicker hunt' addons. Oh man do people not like facing that one.

Yeah, Wraith...honestly, lightburn doesn't need to be a thing anymore. He's pretty weak even without it.

Interesting. CI is one of those perks that everyone seems to love, but whenever I run it all that happens is survivors scurrying around the edges of the map like teabagging weasels for the duration. I'll sometimes use it on Hag to buy me time to set up my perimeter, but...yeah.

1. Blastmine - Anytime I actually get killer to kick the gen before time runs out brings a smile to my face. Also love when my swf teammate is near gen and gets blinded. 😂
2. Flashbang - fireworks are my favorite item, these are basically the same thing but don't cost BP.
3. Resilience - killer hurts me but that just means I can get my Blastmine/Flashbang a little bit faster.
I swear, anyone that manages to land a good Blastmine or Flashbang on me is getting gate if I can help it. They are such healthy perks to see.

Yeah, Agitation was my next plan. I like Gift of Pain on Cenobite just because hey have more things you have to do, so getting people to hooks better is important.
Cenobite...hmm.
I'm currently running Plaything+Penti+Surge (yeah, I'm addicted to this silly perk)+Devour Hope/BBQ on him. Absolutely evil build, as they have to worry about the box, the Plaything totems, the Penti totems and Devour. So much fun.
I'm not sure if Penti works with Retribution (need to test that) - if it does, I'd probably switch out Devour with that.
Another good one is replacing Devour with Thana if you're using the Fang. But that one is just dirty.

It might be the starting at solo queue. After I became decent at survivor I noticed the levels of toxicity of the killers I faced dropped off more rapidly than the level of toxicity I got from the survivors I faced.
There actually was a study done on it that concluded that, as opposed to other games, the highest level of toxicity was found in the highest ranks of DbD, interestingly enough. I'm sure I'm not there so I can't comment but I thought that was interesting.
Would you happen to have that study on hand?
I really enjoy reading stuff like that.

How is it more pigeonholey? At 2+2 per perk, you'd have 4 with a single perk (as now), 6 with two, 8 with three, and 10 with four. i.e. if you've loaded up entirely on perks taht only affect the person you just stuck on a special hook, you get lots of hooks to play with.
I'm still working through characters to collect perks, nothing from Doctor or Trickster or Hag. Still need a bloodweb or two to get T3 Pain Resonance.
Oh I see. I interpreted that as starting at 2 with 1 perk, then adding another 2 per additional perk.
Yeah the grind is real. Avoid Hag for now (Ruin is unreliable and I never use it anymore, Devour is fun but...eh). You don't need anything from Doctor unless you want to play Hag (Monitor is brilliant on her I find) and Trickster...he's not my cup of soju.
Honestly, I'd snap up Agitation from Trapper next if you really like hook builds.

Yeah, that's another thing on my list to get. Iron Grasp shall have to suffice for the time being. :T
Seems like if we're going to get enough Scourge Hook perks to get a full loadout, they should probably be 2+2 per perk spawns or something.
I'd hate that change, as it would make SH builds even more pigeon-holey. If it was 4+1 per hook perk, that could feel better.
Honestly, I'd drop Iron Grasp for something else. My Hag right now is my non-Agi PR build, and runs Monitor+PR+Surge+STBFL/BBQ - occasionally I'll get an Ormond or Swamp with really lame hook spawns, but mostly I get a good amount of value out of it.
I play a hyper-aggressive style for the most part, and being able to hit gens without having to stop and kick them is just brilliant.
If you want to get truly evil though, my Doctor is currently running Surge+Agitation+Starstruck+PR, and that build will put hairs on your chest.

Im a jack of all trades. No matter was daily they through at me im comfortable with it. There are killers i prefer of course but the only killer i prefer that can be considered top tier is Artist and i guess Huntress. Pig, fred, trapper are in my preferred list as well. DS used to be there but he just dont feel right anymore.
To have some extra fun I play cosmetic roulette. I use an outfit and if I win I keep that outfit until I have a game i lose (2k or less). Since her release i am on Artist 3rd outfit (midnight blue dress with purple wreath). Have yet to use her ice dress or yellow outfits. Hope i lose soon.
I'm...hesitant to call Artist 'top tier' - she actually feels very nicely balanced. About on par with post-rework Plague. She can be strong if you make mistakes, but can also be countered. She isn't Blight or Nurse.
Her addons are...honestly sort of crap, especially her iri and purples. I think BHVR overcorrected after Pinhead's addons.

Is it 4 hooks per perk, or 4 hooks total? I think it's only 4 total?
And which should it be (or should the description be reworded).
Total.
I've been getting a lot of use out of PR, but it feels like I need to pair it with Agitation to get the full benefit.

All these perks and body blocks why even do that it makes zero sense.
Eh. I assume you mean 'facecamp'. Body blocking is...something else.
Bubba is a rough killer on a lot of maps if you aren't at least proxy camping. That's sort of what his kit feels designed around.
Your best bet is to just get 1 survivor on each gen and slam them out.
It sucks to be on the greasy end of a basement Bubba, but BHVR are adding a mechanic to discourage facecamping in the future.

Gotcha. Are you bouncing around killers a lot or do you use just certain ones?
I bounce.
Hag will probably always be my comfort zone killer, but I also play a lot of Demo, Doctor, Artist, Cenobite (not as much since his nerfs), Plague and when I've had enough time to forget, Pig.

True. Cant compare us normal folks to people whos job is to play this gm. We dont play their competition and im not saying we are all low mmr but we aint there level. You can still get unlucky on occasion and get survivors below or way above you.
As far as seeing me play are you on xbox by chance?
Nah, Steam.

I notice it but its impossible to know if they are purposely doing it to deny the event for everyone or if they are just playing to win.
Its the issue with this type of one sided event is that people are incentivized by the game itself not to let the event work.
I have to agree, albeit reluctantly.
It's great when everyone is just meme-ing with snowmen to get the cosmetics. It's annoying when people are using them as a pseudo-BT or to bodyblock hooks/chokepoints mid chase.
It feels like killers should have been given something for this event, rather than it amounting to another defensive tool for survivors.

I'm genuinely curious to know who plays the game casually just to have fun on either side or plays in a more competitive nature on either side?
Plus your reasoning for doing so.
For me, I did play this game extremely competitively back in the day but as of over the last year I just play to have fun on either side. I'm not going in to be a sweat as survivor nor killer, it's rare I do honestly.
I like to go in and just have good chases at least and some funny teabags(I know a lot of people find it toxic but to me I can't find a character in an online game doing an action toxic. It's funny asf, whether I play killer or survivor) and as killer I like to go in and just mainly throws hatchets with Huntress to get some good hits.
Although I'm not a fan of sweaty and competitive players. I'm not gonna disrespect your opinion just because I don't agree with it. If it's extremely ignorant that's when I just won't respond.
Eh.
Honestly, I don't think it separates out that neatly. This is a competitive game - because it's a skill based PvP game.
It's not Fall Guys or Mario Party.
I'm fairly competitive by nature, and I have fun trying to win. However I'm not going to get my trousers in a tie trying to min/max every game or sweating for the 4k. I prefer to find my own style and the combination of perks that works best around it (currently an ungabunga mix of Surge/PR/Monitor/Plaything/Penti/Devour Hope/BBQ/Discordance/Tink/LP/STBFL).
I don't mind losing, but it does bother me when it feels like I either had no chance of winning or got RNG'd to death.

I haven't played Survivor because it's like someone took all the parts I don't like about multiplayer experiences and put them on one side of the game.
Yes, Survivor might actually be the more powerful role in a lot of scenarios, but I don't enjoy scenarios where I have to run away from things. Having to choose between lack of communication or voice comms that I couldn't use most of the time I play and when I don't want to talk to total strangers? Terrible. Being repeatedly killed without any means to actually fight back is one of the reasons I got the hell away from FPS games due to imbalanced lobbies.
Plus I don't super enjoy looping on the Killer side most of the time, don't think that would help.
When I play survivor, it's purely solo queue and it's...nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Kindred+Open Handed is brilliant, and I'll usually load up WGLF or CoH too (in addition to the mandatory Dead Hard). Sometimes you get potato allies, but sometimes you get really great ones. And if you do get stunk, you can have fun spectating.
The role is just...stale to me. I've put maybe 40 hours into it and it feels like, aside from mechanical skill and tile knowledge, I've basically seen what the role has to offer me.
Killer on the other hand - I don't think I'll ever stop learning, and that 'learning' is still basically a straight, 45 degree line heading upwards.

I only leave them to bleed out if I can't find them.
Where are you crawling off to and why
Oh man, yeah.
People who crawl off to Narnia and end up bleeding out (then complain at you in postgame) are almost as bad as the 4man teams all playing the exact same skin who get up my snout about 'tunneling' them.

Of course you'd do it in real life too, right? You're not a child psychologist and you should stop pretending you know anything about the subject.
I'm not a child psychologist either (although I have studied it a fair amount while getting my psych and teaching degrees) and yeah - a lot of actual child psychologists are very concerned about the tendencies that arise out of modern gaming.
Forget the whole 'Mortal Kombat makes kids violent' crap of yesteryear (although the studies on this aren't as black and white as either side makes it out to be - they definitely at least increase violent ideations, if not actions) - it's the casual sadism and 'u mad' culture that's worrying. I was actually going to do a thread on this a while back, but nearly all of it is paywalled :|.

I'm more surprised that he didn't receive a nerf/buff to this date.
Well, maybe I'm super bad against him but I despise him as killer. Every single Blight player I played against I could feel the entitlement on the way they play lol. Especially the ones that Chase you with his rush and down you and then start to have a seizure showing how amazing their mouse sensibility is 🙄...
...How do you 'feel' entitlement?
Honestly (without turning this thread into another killer vs survivor whinefest) - survivors seem to be way more entitled, if BM/postgame is anything to go by.
As for the 'going bonkers after downing someone', I do that too - it looks really freaky from the survivor POV and does add to the 'horror' feel. Nurse, Spirit, Doctor and a few other killers look damned creepy when they do that.

So you guys dont play intermediate survivors? Sounds like poor matchmaking which effects everyone positively or negatively. To be clear i play for 12 hooks and not all the games i can 4k (no one wins everything) but my point was i win wayyyyyy more than i lose (2k or less). There are certains games where the map, spawns, tiles, etc are just a complete mis match for the killer Im using.
I believe most pay more attention to the few they lose instead of the majority they win. I can only play between 5pm-9pm eastern and a bit more on weekends and i have a wife and 4 kids so know i dont stream. I get grief from my wife for the few hrs i play now. Im not a fan of watching someone else play a game when i can play....time management.
I still groan when i see rpd, haddonfield, Chapel, and im extremely glad Hawkins is gone. Honestly midwich is the only map i like no matter the killer i use. I just play, equip what i know i can get value out of, and kill. I usually always let someone leave but the game is a 3k double digit hooks win for me.
Yeah I'm just curious to see some of your games, as this is so contrary to not only my experience, but also the experience of the top-tier killers that I watch occasionally (Otz and Tofu mostly).
SBMM has been much better than ranks were (seriously, if you look at my earliest posts, maybe 2/3 of my matches were awful - so many smurfs) but I still get the odd 'wut' matchup, and it's very difficult to tell that you've been thrown to the wolves until you've already gotten a few hooks.

This is a video game though. Every multiplayer game has this kind of thing for a variety of reasons, not all of which are even “toxic.”
Put everything into perspective and it’s really no big deal. The people are random strangers. Some just messing around, others trying to get a reaction. If we’re taking about setting standards for the younger generations, it should be that teabagging in a video game is just that, and even though it can feel personal, the healthiest reaction is to see it for what it is and move on.
Yeah I don't think we are going to agree on this.
To me, encouraging arbitrary nastiness to strangers without any fear of repercussions is far more damaging to a developing psyche. We should be encouraging empathy and consideration, not the opposite. This is something I've tried hard to raise my own kids towards, and I think it's paid dividends thus far.
And, sure. It's a video game.
But video games weren't always like this. For most of gaming history, games were either played in the same room as others, or in a host/lobby/server system where jerks would quickly find themselves battling to get games, much as this would play out in other quasi-competitive social activities. Matchmaking and the lack of accountability that came with it is the problem.

if its all within the game then i believe its all fine and dandy, but they really go out of the their using stuff outside of the game to do exploits and to cheat.
That's...everyone though.
I see tons of survivors using exploits. The amount of lag switchers I encounter doing the No Mither thing or worse, the 'I'm going to heal the guy you are carrying and now you're stuck at carrying speed for the rest of the match' thing is...quite obnoxious. Then you get the ridiculous 'you can't pick me up from this position' spots on Asylum and Eyrie.
