Hmm, let's see...
Favourite:
- Hawkins. Rest in peace, my dear friend... I really liked the layout, I thought it was a shining example of how to do indoor maps without it being obnoxious. Outside of a few annoying spots like trying to defend the portal room's generator, it always felt relatively balanced to me. Plus the drop just ruled, I loved that area.
- Dead Dawg. I know it's not super small, but it's effectively quite condensed, and there's quite a lot spots to hide traps when I'm playing my first love, Trapper. Plus it's really well done atmospherically speaking- though the vultures eating always sounds like someone healing to me, it trips me up.
- Coldwind. I know it's not actually a good map for killer, but for whatever reason, I actually really enjoy playing on this realm now that it's been brightened up- the corn's not anywhere near as much of a problem now that I can actually discern survivors through it a little bit, and there's a fair amount of just openness to it.
- Honourable mention: The Game. I really, really, really want to like The Game, because I think it's actually laid out really nicely, but the pallet density is just too brutal. If they scaled that back, I'd really like it.
Least favourite:
- RPD. Not much needs to be said here: too big, too maze-like, too dark. The main foyer area is actually quite a lot of fun to play in, but the rest of it is nasty.
- Midwich. I almost put this in the honourable mentions too because it is very atmospheric and I have gotten a lot better at navigating it, but there are two massive dealbreakers: One, it still takes forever to get to where you need to go sometimes even when you know exactly how to get there, and two, it's far too dark. Or at least, there's not enough contrast, because Haddonfield is also quite dark but you can still see things on it, whereas I genuinely cannot discern anything in some areas of Midwich, it's awful.
- Badham. I haaaaaaate that main structure, it's so unfun. The rest of it's not bad, though, and I've always liked that fence vault outside the school.
One thing about DDS that always makes me laugh - I swear, I should do a montage of me turning the corner and attacking the body on the chair while a survivor runs off into the distance.
Gets me every time.
I've never found Midwich to be too dark for some reason. My only complaint would be that the gates are always far too close together, which means I can frequently turn a game around just by stalling things out.

I love the look of the map. It’s different. I love the sand and the fact that it looks like you’re inside of a painting with the ink dripping upwards. It’s so cool looking.
Coldwind can be a pain to play on sometimes but speaking purely from an aesthetic standpoint, I love the fact that it is a daytime map and it looks so much different from any other map.
I'm looking forward to it!
Coldwind...blaaah. If only survivors temporarily knocked down corn or something when they ran through it.
Yeah, I'll miss Hawkins. Great map, really captured the source material.

It is cool! Which is why they should play with it properly! Who gets a cool magic toybox and just glues it to their palm?
Each to their own I guess. I don't mind it.

that only happens while chain hunt is active. that bit's getting patched out, don't worry about it,
That is very good news. Although I can't see myself playing him as much post patch, one of the major reasons I enjoy him is his addons which provide totally different playstyles and most of these are gonzo.

Speaking purely for aesthetics.
Top 3:
- Ormond
- Coldwind
- Eyrie of Crows
Midwich and Lery’s come close as well
Bottom 3:
- Swamp
- Haddonfield
- Springwood
Eyrie...I'll have to see what it looks like in game. At first glance it seems a little 'plain'.
Coldwind - really depends on the spawns. Some variations can be pretty enjoyable, some can be tooth-grindingly annoying.

How is reworked game ugly? It looks great when comparing to it's source material
You mean the original map? Weirdly, I preferred the 'darker' variation. If they'd tweaked the lighting a bit to simulate the David Fincher style greens and blues of the film series, I'd probably love it.
As it stands, I just think it's a bit dull.

My favourite/most enjoyable maps, and the ones I think are probably the most balanced:
Yamaoka
Dead Dawg
Temple of Purgation
Hawkins (RIP)
Least favourites:
RPD
The Game
Coldwind
Mothers Dwelling
Dead Dawg is...I guess I've just played way too much of it recently. If I get a 3gen here, it feels like there is no way to lose. I do like the visuals.
The Game is just ugly. I don't mind playing here, but it needs a facelift.

Honestly, I just find it silly that most of Pinhead's power can effectively be held hostage to so little (actual) payoff from it. Like, if you're holding the box for too long and not solving it, the chains should get worse or something.
Again, if someone has decided to hold the box - that's your power working perfectly. You've totally nullified one survivor. Boom, unless you are on like 1 gen remaining with 4 survivors up, you've probably won the game.
Don't get frustrated if someone decides to have a pet box. It's ideal for you.

In my experience, not many players burn maps, so I wouldn't care much if this mechanic stayed. But I also don't think it's fair that players can send everyone to a realm that puts the other side at a disadvantage.
That's why I never burn maps (except when I was doing achievements. Sorry for sending you to Haddonfield, killer, but that Myers house gen wasn't going to fix itself).
But what do you think?
No.
What should happen is BHVR finally fixing the handful of maps that are just gross for both sides (RPD) or are absurdly survivor favored (Haddonfield, Cowshed, Pantry, Badham).
I'll often bring offerings for maps I enjoy, like Yamaoka, Midwich and Ormond. Yes, only one of these is remotely killer sided, but they tend to be fun games regardless. Yamaoka is my absolute favorite map with Midwich a close second.

Hey, don't just pick it up and run around with it all game. That's mean. :(
I love it when survivors try this.
It's basically like having a dead survivor. They can't do anything but run around. Ignore them and pressure gens.
What bakes my potato is when survivors drop me into a jungle gym, or somehow solve it in very quick bursts so I'm never able to teleport to them. I have no idea how this is accomplished, I don't even get a 'heartbeat'.

I've lost so many Pig matches recently (LOL)
Probably due to Bad luck and my playstyle (Not Camping nor Tunneling)
Pig and Trapper feel like they have kits specifically designed to encourage camping/tunneling.

Every game map I get the entire map is covered in boon totems. Who thought these perks would be good design? Why should I, as a killer, in the current meta have to deal with that bullshit. We already have enough on our plate as is, don’t get me started on “jUsT sNuFf” when I can’t afford to drop a chase to go on the next floor above or below. Very poor design but why am I surprised at this point.
I think it's more an unwillingness to change the maps, and I honestly can't explain it.
There are still 3 or 4 maps with potential infinites against certain killers, and far too many survivors love to bring offerings to abuse them.
Boons...boons are another issue entirely. I'm flabbergasted that they went live as-is. There is almost no realistic counterplay to them and they nullify multiple perks and entire killers, leading to an even more stale meta.

Ohh Pop Goes the Weasel.
Imo it should just go back to what it was, idk why they made its timer shorter, literally no one asked for it. It's still my favorite gen regression perk though.
Try it with Oppression. A lovely combination.

Idk why but for blight and pig unlike every other killer (infact my pinhead and wraith and huntress have the opposite problem) the mmr thinks im a godly pig and blight and puts me against matches where i cant seem to secure a kill. (Blight its mostly because i cant seem to figure out his rush and the sliding, pig id say im fairly decent) but as wraith pinhead and huntress i have survivors who think they can hide behind a skinny tree and i don't see them. At least my billy every match is fun and even... anyone else having weird mmr matches?
For me it's Doctor.
I have no idea why.
Whenever I play him, I get the sweatiest SWFs in the world, game after game.
Demo is the same.
Cenobite and Plague on the other hand, I mostly get really chill opponents which I prefer (I like playing chill myself).

I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with builds focusing on the obsession.
DL, STBFL, PWYF, Rancor
STBLF is a fantastic perk on any M1 based killer. It's the epitome of why I enjoy killer - it's interactive, it forces you to make decisions and it has counterplay.
PYWF...it can work but it feels like you need to take 2 steps back to take 2 steps forward.
I've never really experimented with Rancor.
DL is one of those 'emphatically okay' perks that I just struggle to fit in anywhere.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
Id rather BHVR just remove perk tiers. That would cut the grind by a metric ton.
I could swear they said they were doing this a year ago.
@[Deleted User] said:
Yes. BBQ and WGLF would actually still be good perks without these bonuses.
Eh. I think that BBQ would need the aura duration extended and WGLF would also need a small buff to compensate.
The issue is more that these perks feel somewhat mandatory due to the grind.

@Labrac said:
Killers don't "do bones". They snuff them but survivors put them back on anyway shortly after. I'd be fine with doing bones if getting rid of them was actually a risk survivors would have to take.
This is something I'm starting to realize as I play more - killer perks are very interactive. They have risks, counterplays and complexities and can change my playstyle up completely.
Survivor perks, with maybe 3 or 4 exceptions are very bland. They have almost no risks or decision making aspects to them.
It's why I really struggle to play much survivor, and while it's relaxing it can also feel like a chore.

If I recall, he's saying pretty much what I'm saying.
Also: Argument from Authority. Minus 2000 BP.
A lot of other streamers (Otz, Tofu) also agree - CoH is too strong in terms of stacking and there is little purpose in hunting for them as you lose more time than it takes to pop a new one up.

Honestly playing deathslinger now feels like his arms are tired from holding the gun, it's so uncomfortable to ADS now... I get that quickscope was annoying a lot of the times, but was this really the way to go?
So, if pre-nerf deathslinger, with quickscope and almost no terror radius (if m&a was being used) STILL didn't made it above B in most tier lists, did BHVR really think people would like to play as him? It feels like he's just a clown to entertain group of survivors on a friday night instead of actually killing them, but that's true for most of the killer roaster
Nope.
But neither was the nerf to Wraith or most of the Cenobite nerfs.
Unfortunately, BHVR are balancing the game around gross kill rates (I'm guessing) which means that they aren't really concerned with viability at mid-high MMRs.
Naturally, this means Nurse and Trickster need massive buffs.

Just like how survivors have to to bones for noed killers have to do bones for boons.
And dont comment killers have to worry about patrolling, loops, kicking gens, keeping pressure, hooking etc etc we don’t have time to do bones.
Cause I’ll comment survivors don’t have time to worry about 5 totems getting done we have to loop, do gens, unhook, heal, open gates etc etc
Oof.
Okay, I disagree completely.
There is 1 killer.
There are 4 survivors.
The time of the killer, assuming everyone is alive, is at a 4x premium (assuming both roles are equally demanding - they aren't). Thus, if it takes you 14 seconds to make a boon and me 10 seconds to find and snuff it, you're ahead of the game.
Plus, you can resummon it.
It's a perk with almost no risk and no counterplay.
CoH also stacks far too aggressively with other healing abilities/
-
In short, you need:
- Instadown capability, either through your toolkit or perks.
- Ultra fast chase/down capacity (STBFL, Nurse etc).
- Plaything
- Plague
The problem is that you sort of have to build to counter boons every match on some killers, which is tedious and frustrating.

Is it true that high MMR players are at higher risk of getting DDos?
I haven't been DDos'd - but I have run into the occasional lag switcher (generally someone who glitches me out by somehow healing the survivor I'm carrying). In these cases, I'm just going to AFK and report them post match. Not going to bother playing with hackers.

It's not a matter of 'let'.
For the most part, I have a rhino hide when it comes to online banter.
However, stuff does build up. It may be that I have a background in sports and some martial arts, but after the match - you shake hands or you bow. If someone was to refuse to do this and instead spat in their opponent's face or flipped them the bird, especially after they just won, they'd probably be removed from their team or at least take a serious fine/penalty.
It just gets to me after a while.

Your IP address is always puiblic, it's supposed to be public and it's trivially easy to get someone's IP address. It's useless, but easy. IP addresses are not supposed to be private information.
People using any and every dodgy VPN they find and trusting them, despite many collecting and selling your activity to the highest bidder, is a bigger issue than a random stranger having your IP address. Some of the VPN's I've seen recommended since this whole DDoS wave started do just that. I'd rather a script kiddie trying to DDoS me have my IP address then a dodgy VPN company have access to all of my internet traffic.
Phishing is a different story altogether and can largely be avoided if people pay more attention to the address bar / links they're clicking.
Then...use a good VPN. Windscribe, Nord etc.

(keeping in mind it's balanced around new players, so it couldn't be buffed by making the skill check harder.)
Here are some possibilities: (and/or)
- it stacks with oppression, surge (jolt), and eruption. (and any future perks that are similar)
- gens affected by it regress 5/10/15% faster
- failing a skillcheck on a gen previously marked with overcharge results in additional loss of progress for failing the skill check (5%) (lasts a minute or two)
- skill checks on a generator marked by overcharge are 20/25/30% smaller. (lasts a minute or two)
- Maybe the great skill check window is removed on generators within the terror radius?
- failing the overcharge skillcheck results in 10/15/20 seconds of aura reading/incapacitated.
thoughts?
I'd change 2 things.
- Increase the difficulty of the 'check'.
- Passing the check grants no bonus progression.

When team mates dc, sometimes killers have mercy on the remaining survivors. Good sportsmanship and fair.
It can be tricky sometimes.
Usually my rule is:
- If you have 1 DC at 2 gens or more, with everyone else alive, I'll go easy. At 1 gen (rare) I probably won't. They almost always happen at 5 or 4 gens though.
- I'll two hook, but not kill anyone.
- If there's already someone dead, I'll usually just end the game though unless it's at like 1 gen or something. Otherwise it just takes ages and then I get yelled at in postgame for not ending.

5900hrs. Probably got 1700hrs ish as killer and the rest as survivor + lobbies. I used to main killer for the most part but quit playing it almost entirely in 2018, except if I feel like completing some challenges. Although I am having the urge of trying killer again...
I found playing killer back then more and more stressful and felt I was always playing a losing battle (especially with the balance back then). It hit me one day... why not just play survivor? They seem to have it better off, the gameplay is more chill and once you're good you can control chases against many killers. So I switched to becoming a survivor main.
Killer hasn't changed...much. It's still a very stressful role that makes you feel like you are constantly on the back foot.
I just find it so much more engaging than playing survivor. It just feels more complex and like I can do different things every match, even by changing a few perks around.
Survivor perks on the other hand...I can think of maybe 4 that require you to do something different, make any sort of meaningful decision or completely shake up my playstyle.

I don't care what way you look at it, if you have even 1500+ hours in this game, you're most likely pretty good. It's actually laughably bad how I just get steamrolled every match cause the survivors I play against are optimal as #########. I stopped playing as much cause of MMR. What are of all your thoughts on MMR?
Hell no.
I'm at slightly more hours played than yourself, and it's a million times better than ranks were, even factoring the occastional 'wut' matchup I get.
A few thoughts as to your specific situation:
- MMR indeed has quirks and problems. Occasionally I'll get a very 'off' matchup against crazily good survivors or extremely new survivors. I suspect it has to do with queue dodging.
- I do wish it was more nuanced on the survivor end of things.
- If I get a few 3-4 outs in a row, I'll usually start playing very difficult games. I think what's happening is that the MMR thinks I'm not where I belong and boosts me up to see. I honestly have no idea.
- It feels better than it was even a week ago. Either my 'confidence' rating has improved, or the matchmaking itself has been tweaked.
In short, keep at it. Maybe ease up a bit. You'll stabilize.

I don't know if I agree you know, he def needs perks in order to be able to win - I think that's a given. I haven't been running Ruin though, which is weird because you'd think that would be the obvious pick.
Lethal pursuer in particular isn't a dealbreaker but once you start using it - you realise just how important getting a good start/knowing where the box might be is key. His chain hunt is super oppressive and I feel like it's able to carry you if you can get it going
That + if you get really good with landing possessed chains, you stand a really good chance at winning - Personally I run STBFL as my staple perk because it synergizes extremely well with his power and helps deal with pesky medkits/COH gamers
STBLF...yeah, I've been trying to unlock that on him (something like 4m BP later...gah). I personally like BBQ+Plaything+Retribution+Surge on him, but yeah - if I want to be sweaty I'll fire up LP.
I just don't like having such a mandatory perk.

I still don't like the idea of someone knowing my IP. Nothing good can come of that.
I ran a small political/academic channel on YouTube for a few years, and had no less than four attempts to phish or dox me. None were successful, fortunately - but there are some very odd, very bad people on the internet that you wouldn't even want to know your shoe size.

I play both sides, but I consider myself a survivor main. I enjoy it more cause I get to play with my SWF most of the time. Even when I’m not swfing I still enjoy solo que from time to time. But I’ve noticed (today at least), that every match it’s the same thing: nurse or spirit with ruin, undying, tinkerer, BBQ. Almost every killer we’ve gotten camps if even ONE gen pops. Aren’t you tired of just babysitting the hook? There’s no more variety in this game anymore. It’s just the same 3 killers with the same build all the time. These are the types of killers that think they’re good for running the build I mentioned above. It’s funny to see them shake their head when they down someone and hit on hook only to see them get 4 escaped and watch them be embarrassed at the end. Every game is the same…. It’s just sad. This is why there’s so many SWF teams out because solos don’t stand a chance against it. Can you blame SWF?
That's your MMR, I think.
The problem is that unless you are an insanely good player, it's very difficult to compete against high level SWFs without relying on specific killers or perks. Everyone else starts falling off and you just won't see much of them.
If you ease up in your games a bit, you'll see a much bigger variety.
Otherwise, you're going to have to start adjusting specific maps and probably give a number of killers pretty strong, Plague level reworks to create more variety in high MMR play.

I guess I'm just still waiting for a good idea that fixes SWF at high mmr.
Basically all the ideas I've heard have their own issues. The least downsides I've heard was the split ranked/unranked queue. I think it's issues would be somewhat manageable.
I think you'd have the Starcraft 2 problem.
A lot of folks don't really care about rank and score. They just want to win.
What happened in SC2 when they split the queues is that crazy good people would reach the rank they want in the ranked ladder, then let it freeze there while they went and wreaked havoc in Unranked. It also made smurfing ridiculously easy, as you could smurf your rank down in Unranked and roflstomp all the newbies you wanted while being top of the ladder in Ranked.
It...honestly sort of killed the game.

To add on to your point, I'm pretty much the meanest Killer you could play against.
When I stopped playing in a "nice" way, I did not notice any uptick in the amount of hate mail or in-game toxicity I received. This leads me to believe it is not about how you play, it's about a feeling of power.
It's begun to get to the point where people I've killed when I play Killer recognize my name and throw the game when we play together as Survivor, or if they happen to be playing Killer, specifically target me multiple games in a row. Like this guy, who was playing Iron Grasp, Agitation, Mad Grit and NOED Bubba and just put me in basement and smacked me on hook until I died. 3 games in a row.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EFQ8JTM8F314/snake-ban-li.jpg
If you make people feel powerless (by winning), they are either going to be super toxic or try to find a way to get retribution.
I sort of passed on through that a while back.
At first I tried to be nice, went easy from the start - and got mocked and gloated at.
Then I got nasty and started playing ultra-sweaty.
Finally, I realized the trick. Hit them hard and as sweatily as you can right from the start. Obtain a solid lead and complete control of the game. Then, if you feel like it, ease up in a way that's obvious to everyone.
These are basically the only games I never get BMed in.

I agree maps are the main issue as well as basically losing at killer selection with how weak many are. SWF just pushes it all even further over the top.
I can't see them ever fixing the maps if they had that exact opportunity when they were doing the reworks and did nothing.
I think that my MMR suggestion is the most likely.
I agree that if BHVR wanted to fix the ridiculous maps (many of which have pseudo-infinites) they would have done that by now.
They are unlikely ever to do anything else to SWF, they've been quite adamant that they don't want people to 'feel like they are being punished for playing with friends'. All we can hope for is some system-end change to ensure better games.

The part where a badly aimed miss with Pinhead will freeze you in place with no view for 3s or something and no way to cancel early is definitely not nice to use. Constantly aiming at the ground or obstacles just in case.
His chains are the big problem with his kit, imho.
He could be pretty decent if chains took a little longer to break and you could walk through them without breaking them.

"It's not quite that extreme. I've seen Otz and Tofu go up against some very strong SWFs and win."
Survivors can make mistakes enough for you to win some games, you are still reliant on their mistakes to win though. That doesn't mean the main point is incorrect. Otz and Tofu would both agree with the statements I've made about balance and I believe they've both stated it multiple times on their streams as well.
"The major issue, to my mind, is people with lower MMRs queueing up and stomping with coordinated offerings and perks. That, and TTV types who get people to smurf down their MMRs to bring down the group rating, to allow them to crush and be nasty to people easier. But that's really hard to fix. Maybe some sort of detection for people who suicide/AFK/DC in extreme amounts."
Interesting. I don't actually think this is the main issue or even one of the top few issues. I'd be down for a detector as you are referencing though.
The games main balance issues and swf issues are at high mmr because afterall if you are at low mmr you could have played better to win. IE you have control over the matches outcome. At high mmr you can play perfectly as killer and still lose quite easily. That's a balance issue and out of your control.
"By tweaking the matchmaker to accomodate SWFs, it would at least resolve a lot of the issues."
I'm not against this change as I agree it would improve low-mid mmr. This change just does nothing to improve any of the issues of balance or swf at high mmr which is mainly what I'm talking about and generally what I think people are referring to when we talk about swf issues in the forums.
Shrug
I think that at the absolutely highest levels of skill, the game revolves more around which map you get and which killer you choose than anything else. There aren't all that many big mistakes being made.
For example, getting a strong SWF on DDS, Midwich, Wrecker's or Hawkins (RIP) is somewhat manageable. I've certainly trounced some pretty decent 4mans on these, even one or two obvious smurfcomps.
A strong SWF on Haddonfield, Mother's, Cowshed, RPD, Blood Lodge, Badham or GH can be almost unbeatable.
So, so many killer woes could be fixed by simply adjusting the 6-8 maps that are so absurdly survivor favored at high levels of play.

I don't really mind that they weren't friendly, just that I got super tunneled and camped.
meh, it was my own fault for going down the first time.
Yeah, Pig, Wraith and other 'attrition' based killers have been struggling recently, as the meta (and balance) seems to have left them behind.
Right now, the only way to really approach these killers seems to be to go in ultra sweaty from the start and eliminate 1 person as fast as possible. Pigs entire kit feels very much geared to this due to her traps.
It's unfortunate, but sadly that's how the game feels like it's supposed to play out right now.

"When people queue up as an SWF, assign them a temporary artificial MMR inflation. Say, 1.1x for a 2man, 1.3x for a 3man and 1.6x for a 4man. This means that they'll be put against a more skilled opponent to compensate, which removes that problem of stompcomps in less skilled MMRs"
This actually doesn't not solve the problem.
If hypothetically the game was balanced from the top down like most other games do, then yes, this would work. The problem is it's not. You can inflate their mmr as much as you want and it's completely irrelevant. The best killers against the best survivors and the killers are getting dumpstered almost every time.

thanks, asking for myself.
The meme died, was buried, was dug up, buried again and finally stuffed and mounted.
It's one of the most annoying parts of playing Pig.
People will meme and expect you to let them get a free win. Every single game.
If you don't, you'll be cussed out in the lobby.
I think a lot of Pig players are a bit fed up with it now. If you do the meme on like 2 people left and 3 gens up, I'll probably let you go. Otherwise, it really depends on my mood.

Honestly man I'm disgusted, and absolutely sick and tired of swf. It's been a massive issue for years, and on here and reddit killers complain in massive quantities, as a matter of fact it's the biggest issue most killers have.
I hop on wanting to have a good time in the morning before I start my day. Just wanna play a few matches and grind some bloodpoints to lvl up my killers. I need alot of perks for them bc I just switched to PC.
I play legion, and immediately I get paired with a an swf group where all 4 of them are running BT, DH, DSTRIKE, and some form of speed perk, ontop of 3 of them running purple flashlights with insta blind add-ons and one had the healing boon.
All match, they clicked at me, teabagged every chance they got, grouped up on gens while I was chasing someone else. Abused deadhard to make it to windows and pallets for free when they should have been downed, then had the audacity to teabag and taunt after the free escape like the did something great. Abused borrowed time by standing still teabaghing knowing he was invincible and then I hit him, and the free speed rush got him to a pallet where he teabagged some more.
I got three hooks. Then they decided to take the end game hostage and all three clicked and tried to blind me until I forced them out the gate. The last one just used deadhard to the exit gate for a free escape. Weeeee... so hard. Playing survivor is a joke. The devs hold their hands man. Then they act cocky like they are actually playing well or like pros. Dude, you ALL have second chance perks. You all are coordinating. Lmao.
This is constantly happening. I can't play the game and just enjoy myself. It's nothing but bully fests. Match after match after match.
I have a match like this, and I already just wanna quit. It's awful. Why won't the devs address how strong this is? It's a joke. You can feel how disadvantaged you are going against this. 16 perks and add-ons and coordinating!? Seriously?
It would be different if this was a rare encounter but I'm legit finding myself doing these kind of matches almost every other match I play. It's constant.
Teams need caps! Or killers need boosts against teams! Period! Killers don't play this game just be jesters for bully teams that wanna be A-holes. We want to enjoy ourselves too, and if we can't.
We just leave! Then your ttv squads can just stream lobbies all day for their followers Instead.
Their behavior is appalling. I've never in my life played a game this toxic. I assumed the MMR would help but I haven't seen any difference really.
The first time I play a killer the first match is fine, then immediately I'm playing against nothing but squads. Swf is getting worse and more common these days.
I agree with you at least in spirit.
On one hand, it gives just too many advantages and has created an impossible balance situation.
On the other hand, I'm completely sympathetic to people preferring to play with their pals.
The big problem is that there's a really easy fix, which I and others have suggested on occasion.
When people queue up as an SWF, assign them a temporary artificial MMR inflation. Say, 1.1x for a 2man, 1.3x for a 3man and 1.6x for a 4man. This means that they'll be put against a more skilled opponent to compensate, which removes that problem of stompcomps in less skilled MMRs.
That said, here's a trick I've discovered to deal with toxic SWFs.
Turn your killer to face a wall, then go and get a coffee. Enjoy your coffee. Watch an episode of Futurama. Then come back to the game.
You're wasting more time of theirs than they are of yours.

Playing with friends? Absolutely disgusting
The issue isn't 'playing with friends'. That's totally understandable.
The problem is just how much of an advantage SWF confers and how that makes it impossible to balance a game in a manner that's fun for both solos, SWFs and killers. One always loses out and it sucks.
@Blueberry said:
Almost no one likes playing against SWF, that isn't new.
The real question is how you solve that problem without preventing people from having fun and playing with their friends.
See my first post. It's what a lot of other games do, and it tends to work decently well.

So some people on the internet are toxic? Were you expecting otherwise?
It seems like this thread was just made because you went against a streamer that ended up being rude and toxic. How does that make swf disgusting?
Having 1 toxic survivor in your match and having 4 toxic survivors coordinating to make your life miserable are very different things.

I have no idea what your MMR is, so I'm uncomfortable making that assumption.
Lery's sucks on Console too. The FPS is garbo.
Oh, yeah, if you find the RPD part of the stream we both agree that RPD is a miserable mistake of a map. It sucks for everyone but Survivors either have one side with meh pallets but an infinite or multiple god pallets but meh vaults.
Midwich, Dead Dawg and Haddonfield were our maps of contention. @Shdw_Void wanted Dead Dawg in slightly Slightly Killer-sided or Neutral, I wanted it in Slightly Survivor-sided. He gave me that one. I wanted Midwich in Neutral, he wanted it in Slightly Survivor-sided, so I gave him that one.
I think Cowshed is worse than Haddonfield, he wasn't so sure.
I'd say low intermediate on my 'bad' killers, intermediate on my 'good' killers, probably slowly getting towards high-intermediate on Cenobite, Hag and Plague.
Haddonfield and certain variants of Badham can be literally impossible for some killers if they get the perfect 'House of Pain' RNG - I've had miserable games where survivors just SB or DH over to that and there isn't much I can do. I remember one video where a survivor ran Otz in that loop for over 6 minutes just to BM at 1 gen left just to BM, and he was playing Nemesis (an anti-loop killer).
What really fries me on Badham is that sometimes I can have a survivor downed and be literally unable to hook them.
Cowshed...it depends. It's an awful, awful map, but at least I can sometimes force a pseudo-3gen or get a decent hook spawn and proxy.

Just my opinion, don't need to argue with me lol
I do.
I really do.
Especially if I'm playing killer. I hate to win like that, which means either I need to give them a chance and get yelled at in postgame for 'not ending/holding the game hostage' or crush them ASAP to move onto a proper game and get yelled at in postgame for 'l2p scumbad tryhard can't even give us a break u need DC to win lulul'.
