You don't really need a notification on any hex after a while tbh...
Probably on "third seal", so people wouldn't think some bug or glitch happen and you can't see any auras for unknown reasons

But...It is common for the switch... I wonder what's the next game from the wiiU that's getting a re-release
For most 3rd party games, I would say it's not common.
Nintendo own games sure
-
Honestly it should maybe never notify the survivors, it's pretty obvious after 2 tokens that they have the perk
But I know you have to cater to newer survivors as well
-
And to be fair, most games release all their versions of the game at once on the launch day.
This isn't common to release a game on another new platform years later or they never come to the other platforms so I think it's fair to a degree
-
I miss him dearly

I genuinely never understood all these status effect changes. the core of the problem was playing stealth killers and people having OoO, just nerf it a little bit lmao
I agree. We're nerfing a bunch of unnecessary perks, that weren't good already or at best mediocre
-
I hope so, cause it seems like the optimization has been getting worse for the last few updates
-
Saying to just use spine chill, is exactly like people telling others to just use iron will to counter spirit while injured.
Having to use a perk on the chance you versus this one killer out of the what 15 killers now, isn't true counter play.
That's like saying you need "small game" to counter trapper or Hag which you don't need, they have built in counter play
Can't believe people defend that add-on and spirit counter play in general
I know any spirit defender won't agree with any of this. Though I don't agree with you dcing, I still get it and understand

I agree with their decision to not push horribly buggy servers that were shown to have severe issues in testing, especially with projectile killers.
What I don't find encouraging is that these are the exact same issues we saw months ago when dedicated servers were tested, and clearly nothing got fixed about it.
I noticed that too. Like weren't some of these issues around during the very first test of the servers.
That's super concerning, especially the huntress one's

they should just not use them unless its something like servers, a new mechanic or a really big update
At this point they should only use it for that.
Not including the dedicated servers, if people didn't play the ptb (stranger things dlc) nothing major had changed because the community played it.
-
@CoffengMin said:
PTB kills the hype for every chapter , especially for console, and its useless most of the time too, i mean how many gamebreaking bugs have been fixed because of the ptb anyways? how many significant balance changes came out of it? idk, i just feel like ptb is not only killing the hype for new chapters but also not actually helping at all balance the game mainly because theres not a lot of ppl that actually play it
that said, idc if they postpone servers cuz if they suck with a small playerbase theyll suck with the whole playerbase and itll mess everything up
Ptb as always just been, "come look at all the content and upcoming changes" and never about actually testing the content expect with the dedicated servers as that's a must test.
Two weeks isn't enough to test something and get feedback then change it again for more testing and the devs know this. That's why those ghostface changes got hotfix after the release though it was meant to be in the ptb. The devs got what the deserved and get bashed for many people see those changes as immediate nerfs for ghostface

Let's be real you probably wouldn't. I know this because there's tons of issues and bugs in the game right now and apparently it hasn't swayed you from playing the game.
I personally don't experience a whole lot of bugs, unless it's general bugs affecting everyone like the "wake up" bug.
Are their many balance issues and problems with the game, yes there are. I've stopped playing the game less and less since the legion change/plague release as I don't agree with the things their doing. Only playing like once a week now.
I hate ghostface and dislike freddy for them two just having the same powers as other killers only somewhat different.
I'm giving them a chance with dedicated servers, it's extremely important for them to be done right. Especially with killers no longer being the host, it will be very different for them
-
@thedevalex said:
I would rather them release dedicated servers in a less buggy form.
Same here. Buggy and terrible dedicated servers when launched can easily kill this game.
If killer feels to off for me or not right, I probably would stop playing the game

Im spitting straight facts I haven't said anything that is untrue. DLCs with perks in them that fixes game mechanics are Cash grabs case in point Demomgorgon's perks Mind Breaker Cruel Limits Surge all of these perks are literally to counter looping and to slow the game down which is a in game mechanics that they can fix. Do I need to go on with the survivors perks?
I agree that they do use dlc perks to fix the game problems. They been doing it since when the Hag originally came out.
And all the demogorgon perks to me personally are trash
-
Your not entirely wrong, their definitely are things in this game that will turn away many new players

cough cough
These perks are slowdown gen perks, but they can easily be ignored and many times virtually have no effect.
Hex: Ruin - It's a hex perk for starters, that should be easily explained on its own. We already know good survivors can power through Ruin, so not really slowing anything down
Overcharge - Anyone with decent knowledge and ability with skill checks can hit this one
Hex: Lullaby - Once again it's a hex perk. You know of its existence immediately upon the first skill check and requires 3-4 tokens to have any real affects (can be destroyed before reaching that point). Also some survivors easily ignore the perk effects
Surveillance - I don't personally see how this is a slowdown perk. Knowing someone is working on a gen you just kicked is useful, but not slowdown worthy especially if there's little progress on it already
PGTW - definitely a true slowdown perk, not much survivors can do to prevent it
Discordance - Good at separating many survivors on one gen. But nothing stopping a survivor from immediately returning to it
Corrupt Intervention - survivors just ignore the perk for its 2 minutes and hide. Not likely you'll find many survivors during this. I have gone through the whole 2 mins many times and not find one survivor
Thrilling Tremors - I personally wouldn't count this as slowdown perk. 16 seconds is really nothing and if a survivor is on the gen then no time is loss from them
Surge - An absolute garbage perk right now, will do nothing to slowdown the game unless specifically on small maps. Even then not a good perk
This is all my personal opinion though
-
Yeah both blindness and oblivious would be good.
And just buff blindness effect to do more things in general
-
@Peanits Is spine chill not working with Undetectable, intentional or a bug? And also Premonition
Seen these threads a few times now and people being upset by this, sure the community would like to know

According to Roadmap, They are not going to be updated at the same time.
And according to the devs saying this multiple of times they will come before summer ends which is the 23rd of this month.
I hope they don't come though, looks to be nowhere ready
-
You know that sadly those mori add-ons will get removed or vastly changed
-
Dev McCote did use to work at EA, at one point in his life. So none of this is surprising to me
-
I would like the old lighting and overall older graphics as well

Always thought slenderman would be interesting type of killer to add or even five nights at freddy's dlc (know many people are against that one).
Especially since no one owns him, the devs could do whatever they want with him

See this is why it's dumb to make a new status effect. They will have to make exception all over the place to make it fair.
It makes infinitely more sense to just nerf/rework OOO because that was the problem perk. We didn't need these new status effects.
If anything just make Oblivious not play the heartbeat or show TR related icons, but still have them be in effect.
Exactly, just change OOO. My fav perk Alert about to get a unnecessary nerf after being buffed so good 😭
I hope they make Alert ignore this new status effect

I used to think she has high skill ceiling until I played her for some time. It turned out I was wrong.
Playing as spirit is very fun, playing against her is not.
Getting a perfect 4k with spirit never made me satisfied. It feels like I am cheating.
She is one of the only 3 killers that stand a chance against 4 very good survivors. She is very strong but only overpowered with certain addons.
Her ability has no reliable counter play. I believe removing her collision while phasing and changing the rarity of prayer beads to ultra rare would be healthier for the game. Other than that, no nerfs are necessary.
I agree and would like both of those changes

Dude... matchmaking is broken on Xbox, OR survivors do SWF without concern about ranks, I'm a rank 2 right now and I got to play against 4 survs with respective ranks 4, 19, 20 and 13 yesterday. I literally sent a sorry for the matchmaking message to the rank 4 post match cause of the easy 4k... This happened (the rank difference) to me 6/10 times yesterday's night.
Same here. I'm rank 7 survivor on xbox and went against a rank 17 killer

@Raven014 said:
They're already adding a status effect to buff all stealth killers called oblivious. It stops the reading of a killer's aura when stealthed, so Object of Obsession can't see a wraith everywhere, nor can they see a pig or ghostface when in stealth. This is also a nerf to Alert and Kindred.
Kindred trumps any stealth abilities. So it shouldn't be affected

What the freak are you saying? My dbd stays always at 60 FPS, constant.
All PC's are different. We already know consoles don't get 60fps.
I've seen many different post of people who are on pc, who have been getting varying fps and even less fps with each new update.
Going from playing on high graphics setting to being forced to play low graphics just for better fps.
If yours stay at 60fps cool, but many others dont
-
The game already is terribly optimised on all platforms as said above. And the game graphics to most people have been steadily decreasing since it's release and lost a lot of atmosphere to it already
Would be nice, but never going to happen.
-
@Rydog said:
@Locker_Monster Right, I get that. I'm sure the solution is almost NEVER something simple, otherwise it probably wouldn't be an issue in the first place.
But there should be measures in place to disable a messed up perk, or killer, or item while they figure out what exactly is going on.
The devs already have system implemented to disable offerings and maps. But it doesn't apply to killers, perks or add-ons though it could.

These downsides are bs..the killer already needs to be blind to chase you..and her red addons kinda suck by themselves...blus survivors get iron will and qaq , she gets beads...its strong no doubt but far from unbeatable
Not being able to see survivors is not a big deal, for anyone decent with spirit.
People already complain how avoiding spirit without iron will is near impossible.
The number 1 thing complained about for spirit is prayer beads. It's doomed to be nerfed eventually, I'm just giving suggestions
-
Prayer beads should have all or some of these effects added to it
- No collusion for spirit(so you cant know where survivors are on gens, have to guess)(really is a mind game killer now)
- Moderately or slightly Decreased Duration (Less time for pallet mind games and must be closer to gens giving away your terror radius sooner)(gen grabs less often)
- Increased rarity to ultra rare for sure (even with these added effects)
- Slightly decreased movement speed (once again must be closer to gens giving terror radius away, especially if duration is also decreased)
- Dont think is needed, but perhaps slightly decreased power recharge
-
I dont like the many variations as well

Right, like the asylum exploit that we banned for prior to that. That one only affected survivors. I guess we're not talking about that since it wouldn't paint the picture you're looking to make.
Last time around, nobody was banned for the blades exploit or any of the others. You're really trying to turn an innocent thread into a killer vs. survivor thing.
To get back on topic: If you know of an exploit and you're worried people might abuse it, you're welcome to contact a mod or a CM and report it to us privately. If we don't already know about it, that's the safest way to make sure it gets fixed without everyone taking advantage of it.
What I recall from memory since this was so long ago, everyone that did the asylum exploit was shortly unbanned afterwards (given a second chance) or at least some of them. Though I don't remember for sure fyi

Really? I thought they learned and remembered? Like, the whole point was to lose hope, which means they have to remember death after death after death.
Like, the Entity feeds on the hope of escaping, but eventually Survivors lose all hope and get discarded/become Killers, because they realize they can never escape.
Last time I remember they lose their memories. Though could be wrong or mistaken

you'd think after so many trials they'd get used to it lol
You have to remember that in the lore, survivors memories are wiped after every trial. So they would never really learn

Wat is dedicated servers??? Is that a console thing to? Cuz I'm been getting matches that survs will DC
Your connection will no longer be based on the killer internet when dedicated servers come(so better ping and less lag in theory). And yes it's coming to all platforms, but it's not out yet

That time out system to deal with dc's is coming with dedicated servers or possibly some time after them, if you didn't already know that. . .

Bhvr has some big issues with creating new maps, everyone can notice that by looking at the last released map. The clown map was not only the last good one, but also one of the really good balanced ones. Whoever made the clown map (or had a lot of input for that) should work for maps more and try to use his ideas from that map and use it for new maps and reworking maps.
@Peanits a little feedback for the BHVR team from a dbd gamer since release. Please talk about that with them :)
The same guy creates all maps and are doing the map reworks to my knowledge. So really it's them not learning from their past and recent mistakes

I'm pretty sure we can't, it was included with the engine update.
There's actually a video somewhere out there where you can go back to older versions/builds of the game. But obviously you can't play with anyone that's not on the same build.

It shouldn't be a nerf for kindred. It will show killers aura no matter what it says in perk description, "trumps any killer stealth abilities"

@TWiXT said:
The license holders definitely get a cut of the profits, but in all honesty, I think its cool that said license holders are actually allowing BHVR to make modifications and add cosmetics in the first place. The primary problem with the Freddy rework was that they had to keep going back and forth with Freddy's license holders and get approval on every little change before they could put bring it to us, and I'm certain the time consuming hassle of doing that is the real reason it took so long for them to get the rework done. The Pig however has had multiple minor balance changes, and even received cosmetics, which is something no other licensed character has gotten so far, not even Freddy/Quentin. This sets her pretty far apart from the others as the owners of her seem to be more lenient on any changes made, and more cooperative, so here's hoping that they'll eventually talk the owner of the Saw theme song into pitching in so our girl will get her own theme music for chases and RBT timers. :)
Licensed holders, I'm pretty sure have no say in their characters abilities/power and whenever or not they can be changed.
DBD just gets rights to use the character in-game and that's it

Improves performance some, but really, the game just need much better optimization.
This game looks worse than Mirror's Edge and runs literally ten times worse. And there's no AI, wind physics, or literally miles upon miles of backdrop it needs to render.
I hate how people (not you) believe that in order for a game to run better it must have terrible or lowered down graphics which isn't true. You can have both great graphics and performance.
DBD just don't know how to properly optimized their game

@thesuicidefox I have played killer at rank 1 on Xbox. As you may recall, I used to be a console player. So it's not like I have zero experience with console.
Now here's a counter offer: Come play killer on PC. I want to see you play Huntress or Billy against players like Vooshy (be sure to use a controller). And let's see how well you do playing against a SWF squad like that.
Believe me, I used to think there wasn't much of a difference between the platforms. Then I switched and realized they are different.
FYI, a lot of the PC players believe console is a joke. I don't happen to share that view. At least I'm willing to stick up for console players when it's necessary.
Rank 1 killer on xbox here too. Literally all you see is swf almost all day. Lot of them stream the game too
