Why can't it do both? lol

It's literally just a paragraph. Why would I space out the sentences for a brief post...
Which makes your eyes a little more tired?
===
Light text on dark backgrounds creates more eye strain than dark text on a light background.
By spacing sentences out rather than writing proper paragraphs makes the short form text easier to read for many people.
If you want people to read a long post, make sure that it's formatted for readability rather than an English grade.

Wraith: Bloodhound - Predator +2 choice perks & addons
The goal isn't to win, but to learn how survivors move around maps and start practicing how to mindgame and counter their movements.
Edit: It said survivors at the end and I thought it said players lol my bad - Leaving it here anyway :)

Why should somebody get special privileges/free disconnects? Just because they stream? I don't exactly get what you mean by "unbannable" but either way, why?
They're referring to the hackers that forces some streamers to have unwarranted matchmaking bans of several hours.
Rather than making anyone unbannable, it would probably just be better to have a system that works and that can't be hacked so easily...
-
@Boss said:
Yeah, i always thought the softbans of Dark Souls games would fit well here, but then for disconnectors, and only for a while instead of forever.
What was that system like?

It's out now for all things: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173606/news-matchmaking-update#latest
I'm willing to give it a week to get people where they belong...if it's still as bad as I've seen currently in a week...then yeah, it's bad.
This is what I'm thinking as well.
I'm waiting until next week to see how it feels and what the forum threads look like before making a judgement call.
Although they've said that the system was working in the background for months so we really shouldn't need to wait a week to see if it settles.
No choice now though.. I'll give it a week before I join in on the mocking and disappointment.
-
If swf isn't common they can let killers opt out of playing against those teams and the population wont' be split lol
-
I can understand this legendary skin being locked for the head and body, but the weapons being locked is a poor choice though.
The quality of the skin is outstanding and might actually be worth the price tag, but as a whole I'm more interested in balance and bug fixes more than what I look like while suffering through those bugs and balance issues.
Also quite disappointed in the Hag skin.
-
@Peanits Is this a bug or intended?

The carburettor tuning guide uses all tokens immediately so that should mean only 1 "attack" right?
Hmm... sounds like a test is in order lol
-
The devs aren't done with Billy.
They're probably going to tweak the numbers again making him more punishing to use because their stated goal for the overheat mechanic hasn't been realized yet.
They want to limit player's access to his power, the current overheat numbers don't do this.
This is especially noticeable when you hear the praises from billy mains saying "He feels the same as before, just with addon changes".
-
pwyf tokens are consumed every time you use a chainsaw token if I'm correct so it's very temporary.
Unless I'm missing something with the new tuning guide.

Fair enough I have my concerns considering it blocks for 2 minutes and then it's a dead perk but I guess it all depends on how the survivors react to it.
For what it's worth, I think it's overrated because it's temporary. The same reason I don't like Hex perks other than NoED
-
Since you have it unlocked anyway, you may as well try it out for a number of matches and see how it works out for you.
Everyone's experience with perks and builds is different because everyone plays differently.
-
If there's no money to be made, they probably won't do anything to fix the issues.
DLC and cosmetic sales come first.
-
This is exactly the reason why the numbers will be changing in the future to make the chainsaw more punishing than it currently is.
The entire goal of the overhaul was to make Hillbilly "overperform" less, if that goal wasn't achieved by lessening the numbers from the PTB then the numbers will be increasing in the near future.
I expect the numbers to change for the worse when his really stupid addons are changed also.
tldr; If he's not punishing now the devs will fix that soon.
-
How difficult were auras to see before the change?
-
If you are a good killer and demolish survivors it's likely that you'll black pip. If you want to pip, you have to "let" survivors have a chance to win the match.
-
The same people who asked for a billy overhaul instead of simple addon changes.
PS BHVR hates color blind people. The first post about color blind options was made less than a month after its release. But man we sure do have a lot of monetization options now don't we?
Is it possible or at least applicalbe to get a color blind option for the killer my brother is slightly color blind and can see the markings or anything, even changing the color would work for the scratches or something. I'm not complaining or anything but i feel like this should be a feature. -

Nothing to do with being survivor sided at all!
It's locked in because when you search for a match that's when the matchmaking happens, so if you queue with your strongest killer for example and then decide to change to another killer whilst in the lobby you are going to struggle...that would also be abused the other way around - you'd queue on your weaker killer and be matched with survivors of that skill level, then switch up to one of your stronger killers in the lobby.
The difference for survivors that there's no difference between characters in the same way there is for killers.
Except for the issue with the last second swap for items, preventing a killer from being able to choose to use the new Lightborn or Franklin's.

They can change addons and perks still. So the contention that "the Killer can't do anything about it now" is incorrect.
Allowing Killer swaps will make per-Killer MMR impossible, and we need that feature.
Do you know what the "Last Second Swap" is?

Yes, we take notes on any constructive feedback we read on these forums. Ultimately we have to decide if having separate killer ratings is worth the tradeoffs.
It's worth it, but the tradeoffs players are worried about are avoidable.
@Almo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1482240#Comment_1482240
It's far more important to get per-Killer MMR into the game. In order to match Killers with Survivors appropriately according to the skill level the Killer player has with the selected Killer, we must lock the Killer selection in the lobby. Otherwise, switching Killer would require booting all the Survivors out who don't match the newly-selected MMR for that Killer.
The only thing that needs to change in this case is to lock survivors as well. The killer doesn't have to worry about survivors changing their builds to counter the killer due to a cheat and the original purpose of the lobby is maintained.
@Almo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1482328#Comment_1482328
Because Survivors are all the same. We're not tracking per-Survivor MMR.
You ignored the core issue. Survivors having the ability to change their builds before a killer can react. This has nothing to do with tracking a survivor's MMR nor is it a concern. Everyone knows survivors are all the same. Players are talking about the last second swap and why that is the reason survivors should be locked in the lobby as well.
-
Screenshots for those of us at work pretty please?
-
@Peanits said:
Definitely not. The alternative to not having the hatch is the last survivor playing hide or seek for half an hour until I lose interest so they actually have a chance to do a generator without me catching them in the process, repeat for however many generators are remaining. The same thing happened back when the hatch wouldn't spawn unless at least two generators were done and it made matches last forever. They knew if they touched one, they were dead, so it turned into a waiting game.
I'd rather just take my win and move on to the next match, personally.
When the 3rd survivor is sacrificed start the end game collapse and power the gates. Make sure the gate spawns fairly and the survivor's chance to escape is dependent on their skill rather than the RNG of who finds the hatch first.
There should be very little chance for a survivor in this situation to escape, so it shouldn't be given for free nor should it be easy.

They made them long intentionally as a downside to using them.
Has this been stated?
It's a gruesome animation, that alone is reason enough that it has a long animation.
I like the idea of a secondary mori that is very quick.

Have you ever seen Maverick?
-
Ace would be a perfect choice for a mobster outfit.
I don't get why he has so many cosmetics that don't suit where he's from...
-
Corrupt is overrated and doesn't slow anything down, nor does it give setup killers more time to set up.
Working on a video to prove it.
-
I look at it like this.
Would you buy this guy a pizza and give him a pat on the back for creating a monster while being one himself?
I wouldn't.
Buying a license from him would be like giving him a lot of pizzas and a firm handshake thanking him for his creation.
No thanks.
-
Bugs.
-
I'd like to see more scoreboard screenshots please. With the same killer since the lockout thing would make this a little trickier to prove.

What do you mean with "exchange"? She's already one of the strongest killers and is imo overperforming
Definition of exchange (Entry 1 of 2)
1: the act of giving or taking one thing in return for another : TRADE
an exchange of prisoners
2a: the act or process of substituting one thing for another
You stated that it's your opinion that she's overperforming which is as meaningful as me saying that "imo" DS is overperforming.
-
Honestly considering the number of survivors available now I don't think it's possible any more.
Everything would need to be changed and adjusted to compensate and the company may as well make a new game at that point.
Also, it really is a shame that survivors are just skins.
-
Before they got nerfed I really liked stacking the activation addons.
-
I think this is why they asked this question in the survey.
I can see how this mechanic would be much more interactive than just spamming the bar. Hopefully they implement this change, because even letting themselves die on the hook wouldn't be instant, they'd have to miss a number of skill checks which would be beneficial to killer players as well.
-
Outside of gameplay mechanics, the visual effect they were going for was that from other ghost jumpscare movies where a character sees the ghost at a distance and then it's instantly right in front of them.
Visually, this is the effect and experience they were going for.
Getting rid of the husk eliminates this effect.
What would you want to give the Spirit in exchange for being able to tell when she phases? We're talking about balance afterall.

I'm really excited about Monstrum 2. I'm getting my first gaming PC in about 3 months from now for my birthday and it'll probably be one of the first games I get. By the way, are you the real Space Coconut????
Yep lol
I'm interested, but I'll wait until I see gameplay before I let myself get excited. Cinematic trailers aren't reliable afterall ;)

Anything can happen.
DbD could get a number of reworks that make it an enjoyable experience for both sides, or it could continue to be a money milking machine. There are only so many licenses available so core fixes have to come eventually...
A competitor that hasn't garnered much attention (Monstrum 2) could turn out to be a fun experience that people tired of DbD can turn to.
But as stated above, a competitor has to be good from the start rather than promising changes from hype train pre-releases.
-
I think an important angle that isn't being looked at in this discussion is that it's not the goal of Survivors to never get hit (although that's the ideal outcome).
The goal is to not get hit for as long as possible reducing the pressure the killer can put on the rest of the team.

you do NEED to because otherwise you aren't getting the full experience of it. dont go and break your bones obviously but if you aren't playing survivor you can't really understand
A medical license (or medical experience to some extent) is required in order to apply a cast to heal a broken bone.
Should the doctor have studied human anatomy in medical school to be able to do this?
If the doctor didn't study medicine, is it enough that they broke their own bones once or many times to be able to apply a cast?
Does not having a broken bone limit the doctor's ability to apply a cast due to the experience they've had applying casts in the past and studying the process in medical school?

So you got 2.5k hours yet you still hardly play survivor. You have only looked and barely experienced your opinions are biased.
Have you played with other survivors? Why would I want to put myself through that lol
I don't like playing on teams because I don't like carrying the bad team nor being carried by a good team.
I prefer solo which is the Killer role.

observing and playing are two different things

But a person doesn't need to have a bone broken to understand that it hurts and requires a long healing process.

Through the powers of observation and analysis of 2500 hours of gameplay against survivors of all skill levels.

We can do this if survivors can't pair certain perks together either.
Object with everything else.
Second Chance perks with other second chance perks
insert more examples here.

If you're worried about individual details in a match affecting the outcome of a match making it unlikely that the system will be accurate, I encourage you to educate yourselves with the Law of Large Numbers.
It basically means that as the number of samples increases (The number of matches finished) the details or RNG of those matches begin to have less of an impact on the system that's measuring the outcomes (MMR system)
If I win 75% of 1000 matches, how much will the details and circumstances of those matches matter when you try and guess what my % win rate would be with 100,000 matches?
In probability theory, the law of large numbers (LLN) is a theorem that describes the result of performing the same experiment a large number of times. According to the law, the average of the results obtained from a large number of trials should be close to the expected value and will tend to become closer to the expected value as more trials are performed.[1]
