Nice bait
I believe the SWAT swf are the ones killers complain about and are what???
Present in 1 game out of 20??
Killers want ez mode
So now SWF are common, but "SWAT" SWF are not? And you give statistics out of playing survivor games I presume? Nice.
At the risk of taking bait, I'm pretty confident that most games include some kind of swf group. I think pure 4 man solo games are far rarer than facing at least a duo.
No stats mean no care.
Literally survivors say those two lines very commonly, are they really that stupid that they make a bait topic?!
I believe the last stats given out (feels ages ago at this point) indicated a bit over half of all matches had at least a two-man SWF in it.
Devs own stats showed SWF is 70% of all matches.
I agree that its rare to face a 4 man squad that wants to rush gens and make the killer depip, but SWF groups of at least 2 are fairly common. I check people's friends lists on steam before the match starts and that usually confirms who is playing together, and in my region names become familiar as well so you can put 2 and 2 together when you keep meeting the same group of people over and over.
Solos are definitely a large part of the player base however, I play both sides and run solo survivor most of the time frequently, so if their is a SWF in my lobby it probably isn't more than a pair on average I'd say...
It's way more than that...
SWFs are common but killers on the forum only act like it’s a SWF when they are losing.
don't need 4man squads to tip the game in the survivor's favor heavily. A two man is more than enough that at least they get out most games.
2mans and 3mans are much more common, and they are just as impactful. When you can rely on someone you can take more risks and waste more killer time. If a killer finds one of the SWFs, the killer can either tunnel and lose the game or abandon the chase. If the killer abandons the chase and finds the other SWF, that's game. This is also assuming the SWF is good. Losing 30-40 seconds is enough that even your average cromagnon red rank survivor has enough in them to hold m1 and press space bar a few times as long as they are being carried by 2 good survivors. I've had snowball matches as killer to the point where 3 of the survivors were on last hook and the last one single handedly carried the game.
It's actually less about the skill of the SWF than it is about just the fact that they have someone they can trust. They know that if they dive the hook with BT, they know their friend is going to take the hit and both of them are going to make it out. They know that their friend is in the locker on the other side of the jungle gym that the killer just broke the pallet on and they know to run around and stun the killer, allowing both to escape when there would otherwise be a down and more map pressure for the killer. One is on one side of the map, the other on the other, one of the other survivors gets hooked, the swf knows that the person on that side of the map will be unhooking the downed survivor, so the other SWF doesn't have to leave their gen. It just all-around increases survivor efficiency dramatically, even if they are not good survivors.
Your argument is so flawed it's crazy. It doesn't matter how much these matches are present, by that logic, old nurse was fine because she wasn't picked much.
It's the two of the most common lines used by survivors... I wanted to show the irony and want a solution to SWF (and indicator, or a way to block them)...
It's rare to face ebony mori and keys so they are fine.
I like this reasoning.
I don’t want SWF to be removed as I don’t have that much of a problem versing them and can usually manage to get a 2k even against a good team. But if SWF aren’t that common, how come removing them would kill the game?
SWF doesnt have to be removed. It has to be seperated from solo queue, and both modes have to be balanced seperatly. If both are balanced, there is no need for killers to dodge swf, because the game would be balanced either way.
If swf isn't common they can let killers opt out of playing against those teams and the population wont' be split lol
But... But... It will kill DbD!
But also: they are not common!
What now?
Exactly.
Or let killers simply opt out from SWF bullshit.
For me the main difference its when survivors are SWF they tend to gen rush. While in solo ppl are just going for bloodpoints. They open chests, they cleanse totens just for the sake of the bloodpoints. Either take mori or dodge the queue.
ez mode so 4 slowdowns and a morri
50% of the playerbase plays SWF. It does not have to be a SWAT like, the comm bonus / information bonus you gain is just a huge advantage. And every players wants eZ mode. That's the reason, even 7k+ mmr dota 2 players or grandmaster overwatch players create smurfs to punish less experienced players.
This guy gets it.
As I recall it was more than half were solo games. The majority of the remaining games were 2 man's. The dreaded 4 man was less than 10%.
Actually I thought it was close to 50%
Anyone who plays DbD more than a week knows this chart is BS.
I mean if not, then let killers opt out? Not big of a deal, right? Right?
Yeah but that includes 2 mans and y ok u cant assume all 70% are even good.
It's way more than that.
75% of games are some form of SWF. The game only lives because people can play with their friends.
Four man SWF is not as common as crybabies suggest. 2 man SWF are seen almost every game
2 man + 2 man, both having communications does not make it any better.
i know it's bait, but i'm going to say it anyways.
i just needs to be fixed that flows through the game.
No bait here, why is it a big deal not to allow killers to opt out SWF if they are not so common?!
If by "SWAT SWF" you mean 3-4 person tryhards with meta builds that abuse the hell out of their perks for extra gen time, that's closer to 1 in 5. Or, if you mean duo's that do the same as well, that's every other game. I've been checking for the last 3 weeks. Sure, almost every single match I've had has had a SWF, and I'm not saying SWF is inherently bad... But the ones that are there to win, not to mess around, are the more common.
SWF is so uncommon that matchmaking has previously been reworked several times to account for its various aspects (ie rank disparity).
@_@
How do you let killers opt out of swf without greatly increasing queue times? Also where do you draw the line?
Some example scenarios...
A 3 person swf can't be paired with a solo queue survivor unless a solo queue chooses to be placed with swf. Now you have an extra queue based on how many solo survivors want to queue with a 3 man swf.
Many killers will lobby dodge because the prevailing opinion is swf is overpowered. Some killers prefer the challenge but they are probably in the minority. This will include swf made up of non-4 person teams. Such as two and two or trios.
In the 3 and 1 scenario do you know who is swf and who isn't? Thus allowing you as killer to pinpoint a single survivor and possibly bully them more than others.
What incentives are on offer for killers and solo survivors to choose to face/join swf? Do we punish players who play with their friends or incentivize people to 'opt in' for bonus blood points? If they have to incentivize players to opt in then isn't that confirming the problem of lobby dodging?
I don't see how you can highlight swf in the load screen and not avoid a whole nest of new issues that result in people skipping lobbies and increasing wait times.
Does it really matter at this point? Even if it is duo or squads. They all can potentially squad up two duos even when the system is showing 2 pairs of duos.
That said, yea a simplistic indicator by their names wouldn't be too much of a challenge 🤷♂️
Just to show everyone just how rare or not swf groupings are 🤔
