Vault a window or stand near a pallet. Don't try and body block.
Boom, now their entire build is pointless at doing anything but putting people in basement. There is no slowdown, there are no chase perks. The only thing this is useful for is putting people in basement, and good survivors will just do gens if they realise the killer is camping basement all game. -
I had been playing on Xbox for years and never cared about messages. Until I picked up Dead by Daylight. This game alone caused me to change my privacy settings. People are ridiculous when they lose in this game.

dude...what's your deal? you've got to stop being so defensive and hostile to people. that person literally gave you tips on how to counter twins, and you're acting like a child and insulting them over it. every one of your posts is just complaining and then arguing with whoever slightly disagrees with you.
get a hold of yourself and stop acting like this over a video game. you're being ridiculous.
If it wasn't barred from here, OP seems the type to use much harsher language.
Twins is very overwhelming to new players, so I understand their frustration (especially as one of the few people that enjoy playing Twins), It seems OP just wants to vent, they don't actually want advice or a solution on how to deal with Twins. -

Agree to disagree. You wasted much less time failing a skill check through Self-Care than you did failing one on a gen or looking for a teammate. Plus you could do it mid-chase. If he went over to sleep you after you woke up, then he's wasting time while the other survivors work on gens. It was the best way to wake up since it didn't lead him to your teammates or cost you gen progress.
I remember back when that "De-Pip Squad" or whatever it was called was a thing, they mentioned they struggled often against Freddy because they didn't have Self-Care and it caused gen progress to slow way down.
Do agree that range add ons were the best though. Especially since you could also pull out the power and check if someone was hiding behind a wall 40m away haha.
Anyway I think we've derailed this thread too much reminiscing about our old main haha.
What I am saying is is that there was no mid-chase if one played like this because you simply wouldn't commit to chasing people.
Dream projection with range addons was the best tracking tool in the game (because it locked on through walls revealing their location even if you needed LOS to actually sleep them, so you just walked around sweeping it horizontally until you locked on to someone), the only time wasted was whatever time it took to get LOS to sleep them, but most survivors can't prevent that because you know, Freddy was invisible and not close enough to hear the lullaby.
Eventually through attrition you would wittle down their resources until they were basically done. Trust me, as someone that nearly exclusively played old Freddy, self-care was not an issue. But I agree, this is now going off topic, so I will stop discussing this now.

I agree, just like I agree that Skull Merchant needed a rework. But my point is that Freddy kept nothing that made him Freddy. He became healthier sure, but at the cost of practically deleting that killer from the game. Sure he is healthier, but the few people that actually enjoyed him were the ones that got the short end of the stick. And the first rework Freddy was honestly just as unhealthy for the same reasons so what was really the point haha.
Just because a killer is unhealthy doesn't mean they have to become something else entirely. Release Legion was one of the most unhealthy things ever added to this game, probably more so than OG Freddy, and they didn't remove their identity or completely change them into an entirely different character.
Reworking her is definitely a net positive, but I just think the way they are doing it is a mistake.
(Also kind of unrelated, but the reason I feel that play style for OG Freddy never picked up was because Self-Care was meta so it was really hard to keep more than 2 people asleep for long when everyone was carrying around a free wake up on command. If he released now, then that play style would definitely be worse for the game especially now that there are more slow down perks and no Self-Care, although I still think he would be bottom tier.)
Self-Care was not actually a big deal for old Freddy. In fact it was actually a boon, because they just waste time doing nothing but healing (and you knew where they were doing this and that they were not doing gens) and as soon as they wake up you just instantly put them back to sleep again, which with range addons you could do from nearly 40 metres away, and then just go back to picking off those who are sticking on gens. The people that think Self-Care was a counter to Freddy are the ones that just played him like a cruddy Wraith and would stack block addons to reduce the sleep time rather than increasing their power range.
I do agree that other than the teleport, the rework did make him feel less thematic. I wish they kept the invisibility at the very least, and the dreamworld feels almost identical to being awake now. -

I don't really see it as growth honestly. They admit they are wrong all the time, it's just that they repeat it again anyway.
While this is overall a net positive for the community, it still has the same issue they made with the Trickster rework where they remove everything those who actually play the character enjoyed. They went back on that and admitted they were wrong… and then did it again anyway with Skull Merchant… ironically on the exact same day they released a message talking about their previous mistake with Trickster. And the same thing they did with OG Freddy as well, which is a mistake they made years ago and are again repeating it.
I absolutely hate Skull Merchant too, but this does seem like a slap in the face to those who actually like her.
I'm going to just say, as an OG Freddy main (back when he was invisible and needed to sleep you to hit), I loved him, but changing him was healthy for the game. His optimum playstyle was keeping everyone asleep and never going for chases until 3 or 4 people were asleeep, and forcing them to work on gens at 50% forever.
It was honestly more unfun to play against than Chessmaster Skull Merchant. But not many people knew how to play him that way (because other than me, I only know 2 other Freddy Mains from that time) so people just thought he was weak or underrated. If that playstyle ever got more popular before Freddy was changed, he would have been really hated probably as much as Skull Merchant. -

You are missing the synergy here. If you have 2 survivors on the same gen, both with hyperfocus and this perk, they just intentionally miss the skill check. Then their missed skill check becomes a great one, which does 2 things:
- Increases hyperfocus stacks
- Gives them another token for their partner to miss their skill check.
So basically you both just work the same gen and spam spacebar intentionally missing the skill checks. Hyperfocus stacks happen, and you keep getting tokens of this perk because it makes your failed skill check a great one. Top this off with something like prove thyself on one of them and some toolboxes, and you are looking at a solid 20 second gen.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3797507#Comment_3797507
Correct, it removes it, in normal circumstances. This perk will allow it to be a great skill check.

I had a game where a Dracula kept 1 person slugged continuously until they bled out from the timer. Every time someone tried to pick them up he would just knock them down again, he would sit and avoid the healing survivor and only hit the slug.
We fixed all the gens but he still managed to kill her doing this when we got to 1 gen, and then NOED got him a 4k when the third survivor went down and he went for the gates.
Now I know there are ways that at least I myself could have gotten out, but it is stuff like this that makes solo survivor so miserable. That killer would probably get destroyed by a SWF that I face but because I am solo I will never be grouped with those 4 man SWFs. -
I think a simpler version that actually could be implemented and avoid any problems, would be that every character gets their 3 teachable perks as base-kit, and can pick an additional 4 perks. This solves the problem of exhaustion perks overriding each other, and means detrimental perks like No Mither would just be limited to their character (and you can still plan a build around it anyway). I think this actually could be done fairly simply, since it is only an additional 3 perks that would be added to each character, and it would mean a lot of variety.

Watch in amazement as a survivor loops one of your guards around 1 window for like 45 seconds.
Tofu's video single-handedly killed any enjoyment I would get out of knight. It is so easy to abuse how stupid the guards are.
The bug where you can hear Knight's footsteps while drawing a path means survivors pre run before you even spawn them, so map of the realm is once again a must have addon to prevent this.

Dredge starts the Trial with cooldown on his Power 😂
Dredge can't down Survivors that quickly as Blight, Nurse or Billy. Nonsense Argument from your side. The cooldown is only 10 seconds, basically none at all. After that Dredge is the fastest killer in the game at traversing the map.
I assumed you wanted to have a civil conversation or discussion about this, but sure go ahead and laugh.
-
You say that Nurse, Hillbilly and Blight don't get to have corrupt intervention because they can traverse the map in seconds. I do not like this, because it is a slippery slope that would call into question on why certain killers are restricted and others are not.
I assume you posted those 3 killers because of their mobility. What about Dredge? He can travel across the map faster than all 3 of these killers, so much so that Lethal Pursuer means he can be in a chase within the first 20 seconds of the match.
Perks and game mechanics should be as generic and non specific as possible. They already removed old Tinkerer and added the special attack requirement, that is as far they should go. Singling out killers will just make people that play those killers feel like they have less options. Corrupt already deactivates if someone gets downed, that's as good to reducing the imbalance between killers as it can get.
Also the hinder change on infection for Nemesis feels a bit odd. We have not gotten to experience what the 20% hinder will feel like, since the Devs confirmed it is bugged and will be fixed in an upcoming patch. Might as well wait for that patch to come out before making changes to it. -

Dracula is literally 3 Killers mashed together with each power being a watered-downed and weakened version of the originals.
Hellfire: Pyramid Head's "Punishement of the Damned" but can't go through walls/high obstacles, has a shorter range and has a massive post-use movement slowdown. It looks cool I guess.
Wolf Pounce: Wesker's Bound but with less range, no infection (although tbh infection is pretty worthless after it's useless nerf, if tunnelling was the issue then just make infection not progress post-unhook until conspicuous action is done instead of making good Survivors basically ignore the infection) a long cooldown after breaking pallets and less control over the direction. 3rd person is nice I guess and pet the doggo meme is funny.
Bat Form: Spirit phasing but can't attack and goes 1/5th the speed, makes nearly just as much noise as original Dredge, so much so that it's tough to even hear Survivors, so Undetectable is useless and teleport is too short to be useful outside of multi-floor maps unless certain add-ons are used to actually make the distance decent (even then, it's a slow-ass teleport that Survivors can see and hear). 3rd person is nice and it's convenient on Midwich, R.P.D and The Game I guess.
Dracula is honestly "what if Vecna but even shittier and non-unique powers?". At least Vecna has some unique things for him (Mage Hand and Sphere are brand new stuff for Killers and the magic items triggering a hidden Mori is awesome) even if he's high B-tier at best.
I mostly agree with you on the sentiment that he has overall weaker powers than killers with one focused power. But lets make sure we are being fair.
Hellfire does have a couple advantages over POTG, even though I do agreee that POTG is a better power overall. Mainly that you are able to strafe A and D with it rather than being limited to Tank Controls. There is also no limit to how long you can hold the power, unlike POTG where you can run out of trails. These might seem minor but being able to make quick turns with Hellfire has some good uses that some survivors won't expect.
Wolf form is more comparable to Demo's Shred than Wesker's Bound, and I would maybe argue it is better than Demo Shred. The fact you can charge and pounce very quickly is not to be underestimated. If you start charging it as you round a corner there is very little time for a survivor to react to it. The fact that it has two charges means it is reasonable to use it to close the distance on survivors holding W from you, even if they dodge you are much closer than you were previously. The haste bonus and third person perspective allows you to make some interesting mindgames that Chucky can't because he is 4.4ms. being able to see around corners AND being able to ready a pounce allows for some hits that no M1 killers can ever get.
Bat Form, I do agree it is just a worse power than Spirit Phasing. So much so that I don't even think survivors should be invisible to you in this Form. You only travel at 6m a second, that is fast but not amazingly fast. The best use of this Form is the map traversal by teleporting, but trying to use it in a chase is probably best avoided outside of niche perk/addon builds. With how unreliable footsteps and sounds are you might end up wasting more time chasing survivors in this Form. -

bigger hatcher hitbox + injures in 1 hit. those two upsides are much superior than other two killer's throwing modes.
deathslinger has injure in 1 hit and faster wind-up but has downside of smaller hitbox.
trickster has downside of 8 hits.
Don't forget that some tiles mean that Deathslinger shots will result in no injury beyond Deep Wounds. If it is a safe pallet and they pre-dropped you aren't getting the down immediately, unlike every other ranged killer.
-
What I want to know is why does looking down allow the wolf to do this. Blight had this exact same thing as well, heck even Leatherfaces hitbox changes while looking down slightly (or it least he did). What is it about the killer's FOV facing down that causes hitboxes to change?
-
Just in case you didn't know, zombies can hear you fixing gens within 8 metres. If you lure it out of LOS, but immediately hop on the gen, it will just come back. Gotta lead it further than 8 metres.
-
If you are the first person being chased or you are on death hook, you should try to be a lot more liberal with your use of pallets. Don't immediately throw them down, that is not what I am saying. But the first chase is when the killer has the least pressure, and denying their first hook is so important.
Likewise, if you are at risk of dying on hook, there is no reason not to play safe with pallets. If the killer is trying to get you out of the game, then every moment you are still in the game is time that your team can do gens. I see way too many survivors on death hook just be super greedy trying to mind game when I am chasing them. -
Mage hand is one of the best designed killer powers in a while. Using it doesn't automatically give Vecna a hit, and survivors that learn to face it can make Vecna's use of Mage Hand go in their favour. The main counter play is to not be greedy with pallets and to throw them down 1 loop earlier, so that Vecna isn't immediately behind you if he throws it up. That is just one thing you can do against Mage Hand. If he still pulls it back up then you get to throw it down on him again.
Scamper is basically dead as a killer power. The only times it might get you a hit is at super safe tiles that funnel survivors, like the ones outside the basement on the game. If the survivor can move left or right at all after vaulting it is pretty much impossible to hit them with scamper. -
Personally I am not certain if the Bat is strong enough to warrant survivors being invisible. You still need to shift to another form to attack, and survivors can vault back if you try following them through windows.
If it was purely a way to avoid survivors holding W from you, that would already be a strong power. -

It could also be intentional due to how it's half as reliable as Pyramid Head's M2?
Honestly I have hit more hits with Hellfire in the past 4 days, than I have ever hit with Pyramid Head's M2.
Its probably so much better and easier to use than anything else I ever used in this game, so I dont see how you get to "half as reliable" idd say hellfire is 10 times better than PH, but this is a weird tangent.I would say that the it is much harder to react to Hellfire than POTD, and the fact you can AD strafe with Hellfire makes it a lot easier to line up shots. The Tank Controls on POTG are thematic, but it makes it much harder to aim on the fly.

It would make Huntress even weaker too, considering 20% of the loops on each map are physically impossible to land a hatchet at because of her slow speed and windup time.(not to mention indoor maps) Not to mention another 20% of loops because you just have to catch up to pull the hatchet out and have time to throw it. She keeps bloodlust even when holding hatchets thankfully.
Make M1 killers 120%, everyone else 115% and get rid of bloodlust.
Suffocation Pit is a big one. If you get the one that generates the window in the middle rather than at the end where the basement spawns, it is pretty much an infinite. Even when they throw the pallet if you do not have high movespeed the survivor can loop that window till entity blocker a majority of the time.
Infinites are so frustrating, free time sinks with no skill expression on the survivors side beyond holding W. -

I wanted to link my New Zealand Playstation account because Sony won't let me buy anything from the store if I use my original account from Australia. But when I went to try linking the account on PC (Never signing into Playstation at this point) I didn't get an option to link my steam account, it automatically linked to my Australian Sony account.
At the end of the day it is not a big deal, but it is annoying I did not get a choice to pick which sony account gets used. -
Deathslinger with his slow movespeed and height is easy to see coming and hide from. But don't you dare suggest using stealth as survivor; everyone knows that stealth is bad and means you suck at the game.
I mostly jest, but playing against Deathslinger means you have to path differently. Yes there are some tiles where he can shoot you no matter what. There are also plenty of tiles he cannot shoot you except for very brief moments, and throwing the pallet down will usually prevent these shots from connecting. If you just want to run in a circle till he gets close, of course it is going to feel like no skill was used when he inevitably does shoot you. You want to utilize jungle gyms, and connecting tiles with LOS blockers. Anything to make his shot harder.
It is a skill expression on the survivors end to know what map tiles are strong against a killer, even if they still go down if you made the Deathslinger's down longer than getting two tapped, you have already done well. -
Man I am not even past my mid 20s, but are attention spans really getting this low in my generation?
Just look at your phone, check your DMs. Stand up, do a quick stretch and sit down. Maybe go get water or something. 10 seconds is no time at all.
-
Nemesis at the end of the day is just a physical monster. Even at his strongest, his monstrous form is not threat to the entity.
The same can't be said for the likes of Vecna, who came to the entity's realm willingly and is mainly playing along. I wouldn't put it past him to figure out a way to remove the limiter if he really wanted to. -

Skull Merchant though, why on earth are the devs treating her like their golden child that gets attention nearly every second patch all the time? Why would you want to do that?
Because it means you could get grouped with another player faster and find a lobby quicker. I have noticed my queue times take ages when searching as Huntress. Because Huntress is really popular, so a lot of people pick her. That means all those huntress players will never be grouped together to start a match, even though they are all playing killer and looking for a partner.
Meanwhile my fastest match times (still relatively long) have been as Trapper, bc I doubt most people want to play Trapper beyond the tome challenge.

Meanwhile there are people going for killer streaks where in 10+ matches only 1 gen got finished at most per match:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2207351589
No mode in which Nurse is available will ever be survivor-sided. It's crazy that Nurse, who was always going to be the strongest killer for obvious reasons, gets a long list of buffs for this mode, while also both benefitting the most from the constant aura reveals and being affected the least by the increased number of pallets.
Without Nurse in the mode I would agree that its basic format favours survivors, although even then two competent/good killer players teaming up would handedly win most of their matches against the chaotic survivor groups consisting of mostly mediocre-at-best players that 90+% of lobbies always are with this game's player pool and matchmaking.
I've found the best way to deal with nurse is to have a scout constantly follow them so that every survivor starts running well before she gets in range. Even as a solo, once I started doing this I noticed my teammates stopped getting hit as she teleports onto a gen.
It is not perfect, but most nurses if they don't see anyone immediately they will rotate to another gen rather than hanging about.
-
Don't worry, clearly they died of old age waiting for a match.
Part of me wishes that you could pick a killer after finding a partner, since for example you will never find a Wraith partner if you are playing Wraith yourself etc.
-
How are killers finding the time to try and camp anyone, there are so many survivors I don't even keep track of who I'm chasing. If the want quick downs they just need to hug their killer partner and 2v1 them in chases, although they will probably not stop gens fast enough doing this.
-
Solo survivor is quite miserable most of the time because of all the new players. Not to mention it seems a meta of Huntress Nurse has settled in because those 2 killers destroy new players the most.
I literally had a nurse slug and almost never cage someone. There should be some sort of recovery bonus for survivors to stop Nurses from doing this in my opinion.
As of now I have literally no interest in playing survivor as a solo.
-
I had a streamer complain that me and my other huntress buddy were "teaming", just because I hit him after she threw a hatchet at him.
Like no dub, there are two of us now why would we not down a survivor that runs into both of us.
-
Yeah, Nurse really sucks to play against sometimes.
Especially when there are so many maps without walls to block LOS. Map direction lately has been many unsafe loops, little safe ones and no LOS blockers.
If you can't force nurse to make a prediction blink, she just needs to get within a certain range and her next two blinks are pretty much guaranteed to hit. It feels absolutely horrible.

Even if they did work together wouldn't it just make you "not scream" then reveal the aura for the same amount of time anyway, hardened would only just make it so the killer knows you don't have aura reading which assuming they change the scene partner to not require an actual scream to activate calm spirit would just do better in which case this perk wouldn't be used except if any scream effects like ultimate weapon became meta again since its just calm spirit that you have to activate in hopes you will get extra value.
This is what I thought was supposed to happen when I tried the combo as well. I would argue it should be a bug.
I am fine with the aura reading from Scene Partner not triggering, since the scream is worded like a pre-requisite. But the suppressed scream should absolutely trigger the aura reading from the perk Hardened.

I had this same issue. I was going to link my new Playstation account from NZ because I can't make purchases with the Australian one (I no longer live in Australia).
But I couldn't find anyway to add a different PS account when I signed in to the Bhvr account, it automatically used my Australian one without giving an option to pick.
-
I do agree that survivors should try their best not to 3 gen if they can, but at the same time, the longer you are not on a generator at the start of the match, the less pressure you are putting on the killer.
Not to mention that some killers will identify their gens from the beginning and will protect them vigilantly. If you end up "breaking the 3 gen" but 1 or 2 people are now on death hook and there are still 2 gens left, I wouldn't say it was worth it.
-
Okay, so I tried just continuing past that page to see if it would do anything, and funnily enough, it seems to have worked?
I logged onto my playstation to start everything. I have not logged onto my PC or Xbox, since my PC is storage. But it seems like all my DLC and prestige has carried over, including my killer prestige from Xbox!
I can't confirm everything is here of course, since I no longer have an Xbox. But this is still pretty great.
-
Regardless on how avoidable the bug is, if they are bragging about using it then there is nothing stopping you from reporting them. Exploiting bugs is a bankable offense.
I am only stating this once though, do not report random survivors for this when it happens. Only report the ones that you show evidence via chat screenshots of them bragging about abusing it.
-
Everyone is talking about this from the killers perspective.
As a mostly solo survivor I would appreciate knowing if I am playing with a 2man or 3man party. Most swfs are likely to help each other so I know I don't need to waste time going for a save when one of them are on it, and I can focus on gens.
I don't agree with killers being able to see swf status though. I would go further and say they shouldn't see names either. I sometimes play with the setting to hide names so I don't feel pressure to leave if I face a group I lost to again.
-
I skimmed over the news update and thought they said 4500 Auric Cells, that sounded reasonable to me, I've bought more than 3 times that many ACs worth across Xbox/PS4/PC.

no. low profile is Ada wong perk that only works in end game. i am saying that juking play-styles should have limit time frame windows when they're active. not be continuous passive bonus in chase that never goes away.
Iron will never goes away if the survivor doesn't want it to go away. with exhaust mechanic, your forced to use exhaust perks to counter Iron will if you care about it.
Ah I see. The fact you said Low Profile "mode" is why I didn't realise you were talking about the perk.

the perk enables junking. I would prefer them to rework Low Profile mode into Quiet mode where you press a button and your scratch mark/cry of pain/blood mark are suppressed for up to 90 seconds. after 90 second the perk deactivates and is disable for rest of the match.
my problem old iron will was that it gained value for passively doing nothing. Iron will is like old MFT. a perk that rewards you for failing with not enough of a downside. I think these perks that reward you for failing with no downside should have bigger negatives like -1 hook state, slower-healing speed(-30% healing speed), Maybe slower generator speed but that is already a killer perk, thanatophobia which got gutted, -20% slower vaulting speed.
I am assuming by low profile mode you mean crouching? Funnily enough the game does have this implemented in a small way.
If you are crouching and not moving, your injured grunts of pain will be significantly quieter. Not gone completely, but noticeable, especially if there is ambient noise the killer might go past you if they are busy with someone else.
-
I gotta say, as a Twins main, it is very difficult to avoid slugging. If survivors are not good enough to reset, meaning they just continue to heal each other in the same spot without relocating, then of course Victor is going to go for 2 attacks if you don't kick him.
Bt using third Seal is just disgusting. It will never win a match against actual swf teams, it just massively stomps solo q players who can't tell the duo swf and other solo where they are.
If you actually play this way, are you really winning? You probably don't get high hook devout emblems since you're just 4 hooking most of the time, third seal carries you when against solo survs, and you probably will lose to an actual swf that wants to win rather than mess around.

I am partial to Kay-wiff. If you say coo - wiff too fast, it sounds kinda rude haha...

Wow I didn’t know that! Also for some reason I always forget Ace isn’t a licence character lol
Davd released with Huntress in Chapter 2, Lullaby in the Dark. Ace got released in chapter 3, Of Flesh and Mud.
EDIT: nevermind I forgot that technically Halloween was the second DLC released, and Huntress came in the Anniversary. I knew Hag was chapter 3, oopsie.
I do agree that Ace definitely has more right to be in the mode than Mikaela does.
