Except almost no one wants the legacy skins because of how they look, they want them because they don't have them.
-
Yeah, give BHVR some credit.
At least they're not doing what that one F13th dev did, secretly selling those exclusives codes themselves.
-
You know full well this is never happening.
-
This is a fine idea, but when the real reason for the mass release is probably the fact that it's too much trouble to restore missing event cosmetics to everyone who's lost them, this doesn't address the problem.

I really hope you realize how pissed people are about this... Its a reason its called exclusive, its a reason that its Ultra rare. People didnt ask for this, are you just trying to piss of the community, because if it is, then you've done a pretty good job... Why dont you just catch the person who creates the codes and gives them to resellers? and why is not the hype nea skin coming, thats the most used skin to scam with. If you stop making codes, people cant sell them
Seems like most of us are fine with it, actually.
-
I think that the event cosmetics are really only being given out because BHVR can't properly resolve the issue where they keep disappearing from players' inventories. This is a pretty bizarre solution to that.
But as far as the code exclusives, it's about time they were made available again. I have a couple of them, some earned, some given to me, but they've been around long enough.
-
I agree, they simply fixed what was unfair BS without gutting her in the process. Just about 10/10.
-
It's literally called the Chapter 14 Teaser.
IDK how they could make it any more obvious it's not a rework.
-
Not at all.

I thought it was confirmed Benedict did it
Isn't it Vigo?

The thing is, you don't have to get it done in one match. You have a month and a half. Obviously there's going to be some temptation to use more pallets, but throwing the game just to get the next challenge done still doesn't make much sense. If you play normally, you'll complete it in no time.

You basically need potato teammates to do 3 gens by yourself in one match. That's not really a challenge, it's just annoying.
Or you're the "potato" who does gens while your team keeps the killer busy. Potato really doesn't enter into the equation because a good player should be able to do both, and having to a specific one for a specific challenge is exactly what a challenge is supposed... a test of your game competence in a given area.
-

So many challenges are either luck based (your skill doesn't matter, it's up on the opponent to even allow completing it. It's outside of your control) or you legit can't finish them as solo survivor and you HAVE to play 4 men swf and ON TOP OF THAT you have to THROW the game just so 1 person can finish the challenge.
This is absolutly braindead, bhvr why? And who is responsible for that?
Wow, hyperbole, thy name is justarandy.

Can you do 4 entire gens in one trial? Nno, you can't.
And why, exactly, can't you?
-
Actually, it lasts until 2 weeks after the TOME closes. So you still have plenty of time. The end of the event simply means no more petals in bloodwebs and no more decoration, but we have the entire tome period to gather serum.
Unless I'm terribly wrong.
-
Doing gens is hard. (?)
-
You should have seen the original Swamp map.
-
We got Jason at the house.
-
There's only one logical choice here...
-
You left out 0.
This game is not nearly as unstable/unplayable/bugridden as some would have you believe, at least on PC.
-
Plausible, but I'm going to have to laugh if this chapter ends up being a Samurai + Japanese survivor, i.e. exactly what we THOUGHT we were getting when they gave us Spirit/Adam instead.
-
Like Aven_Fallen said, you can do it, but it's not recommended anymore. Most killers are always aware of the DS possibility and if they made the mistake of picking you up too soon once, there's no chance they'll do it again. Or even that they'll down you within the time frame a second time.
-
I think the mother was dead by the time Rin showed up, so she's permanently out of the picture. For the same reason Carl the Cashier is off limits too...
Maybe they'll retcon that, but I'd expect another completely random Survivor like Adam before someone already connected to the story.
-
Who knows, they did a fakeout once before, but this time it's probably going to be her father. There's still a lot of unexplained lore regarding her bloodline for them to tease out.
-
Leave it to the killer/survivor main partisans to ruin an obvious chapter teaser with their nerf-victim noises.
This is OBVIOUSLY a new chapter teaser. The next content is a new chapter, not a midpatch update.

Not sure if uninteresting == frustrating here, but...
Fallout 3. I loved NV and tried to love this one just as much, but it was just a very boring game to me. I made it about an hour out of the Vault before losing all interest.
Fallout 4. See above. I did like it quite a bit more than 3, but on the whole I reached the same conclusion that it was just a really boring. In NV, I felt rewarded when I went exploring... in this one, I could walk around for an hour and find nothing and read nothing interesting. Repeat 20 times until you realize you're it' never going to get better. This one I think I made it through about half of the story before losing interest.
Rise of the Tomb Raider. And again, same as the above more or less. The 2013 remake was great, the second game took to heart too much of the (misplaced, imo) criticism and cut out a lot of things that worked so well before. The game just felt sterile and soulless.
For pure frustration: Mirror's Edge has this whole deal of depending on quick movements and perfect timing, a lot like those platformers that went out of style a long time ago. For a good reason. Dying at the same segment over and over with little actual help to figure out what you're doing wrong gets really old, really fast.
And this one doesn't count because I did eventually cheese my way past it, but I need to give an honorable mention to Dead Space 2 and the idiots who decided to cap off an amazing game with that absolutely irritating final boss.
If I combed back through childhood, I'd have a lot more examples. I'm sure there were a lot of handheld and console games that became too annoying to ever finish. Off the top of my head, Digimon World 3 with its insane amount of backtracking (From A to B, 30 mins away, to C, 30 mins away, back to A, back to C, back to B, back to A...), grinding, and absurd length is one game you would have to pay me to play all the way through. And it wouldn't be cheap...

Are we talking classic Christmas here, or Mariah Carey Christmas?
If the former, yes.
If the latter, also yes.
-
Because X is abused doesn't mean we should let a Y 3x more abusable take its place.
-
The Red was practically unreadable past 1 or 2, so yeah, this was long overdue.
-
I think you can safely call her a Wendigo. She checks all the right boxes in that department.
Witch is more difficult; she's referred to as one, yet imo, it's kind of shaky. She uses charms, curses, hexes, but 'Witch' can mean many different things. But I'll easily agree that the choice to blend them together wasn't executed all that well. Worse, it seems to limit the options for a more traditional Witch-based killer in the future.
-
I've got nothing else to do with the bloodpoints.
Like others have said, if you play a lot there's no reason not to. There's also no particular reason to do it.
-
That one, honestly, is not that hard.
You're not going to finish it in your first try. You don't have to, either. But every couple of games, you have those rounds where you're on Genny-(blank) duty the whole time. For instance, the very last game I played I ended up completing four different gens. It's hard, but it's not impossible. Many survs probably come close to doing it all the time without ever realizing it or even trying.
Oh, and regarding the other Tier IV challenge everyone is complaining about: FWIW, that same game I also ended up rescuing 2 other survivors during EGC and probably could have gotten #3 if things had gone slightly differently. Challenging and BS aren't the same thing.
-
I hope this is okay to explain...
But you can find the appropriate file under AppData/Local/DeadByDaylight/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor. Then you need to edit the engine.ini by adding the information dfrenchiee posted.
FWIW, this was a miracle for me because my game was just about unplayable two patches ago too. Until I did this.
-
I'll admit red ranks have been full of mediocre players for a long time, but, generally, 1 actually good player is enough to carry 3 potatoes....
-
SWF is a matchmaking service, Spirit is a bundle of game mechanics.
They're not even remotely the same and you have to be beyond reason to even pretend that they are.
-
What took them so long?
-
Stop, stop.... they're already dead...
-
The roll-out of these servers has been an awful lot like drowning. You don't want it to happen and you try to fight it off as much as you can, but after a while you just stop struggling and have to let it take you.
-
Injuring survivors is way too extreme. Especially for an offering.
Instead, it would be more balanced if it simply caused certain chests to be empty.

And then they gaslight us and pretend they never confirmed anything or "technically summer 2019 ends in September " stuff. How long until "its hallowed blight not halloween!"
Yeah, Summer doesn't "technically" end in in September, it DOES end in September. And it is the Blight, not Halloween. Thematically it's more Fall than Halloween.
-
All of them.
-
Isaac from Dead Space. An instant purchase.
For the killer, it would actually be really cool if they just did a special skin for existing killers. A Necromorph Hag popping out of the ground? Now that would be utterly terrifying. They both have very similar body types as well. It'd be perfect!

Playing Claudette is like painting a huge target on your back and your forehead. Killers love to tunnel Claudette even if you're not the immersed type.
Ergo, not playing Claudette is for cowards.

how are they a waste of time you can have half of a boldness bar without being chased if you actually get all 5
As if it's hard to max bold without them?
-
Breaking dull totems is a waste of time, anyway.
But that's the risk of running IS. That Survivor has no one but themselves to blame.
-
Thankfully, that banshee screech is never coming back.
-
If they brought a syringe into match and you never hit them the entire game, then is the joke really on them?
-
Heal yourself on demand at any time
OR
Waste time searching for a chest hoping your teammates don't claim them first, and then heal yourself.
The "Self-care bad" meme has gone for way too long.
