They barely listen to community feedback, ever. They haven't listened to feedback about Bubba, Pig, Spirit, and they also haven't listened to any feedback at all about the maps and gen speed.
They haven't demonstrated that they listen to or care at all what the community thinks. They don't fix major balance issues that have existed for months or years. And now that they haven't listened to community feedback regarding this killer, some people are still acting surprised. This is the exact reason people have cause to say bhvr only views this game as a cash cow. They just do such a bad job most of the time, regarding balance and feedback.
Thankfully. The community's feedback is, by and large, terrible. This thread alone is a grand tour of awful takes, honestly.
-
OP definitely filled in that "weaker than" blank at random.
-
Weak in your hands, maybe.
-
Slinger is significantly stronger than the Huntress.
-
I can appreciate the effort, but the fact that one of the worst killers in the games has one of the highest kill rates is an obvious sign that the data pool isn't representative of actual stats.
Not that that will stop people from seeing what they want to see.

Go try EvE Online or old Paradox titles like Victoria 2.
When I saw this thread, I thought "They must have never tried a Paradox Interactive game."

i disagree that killers have it easy. also, sabo times are 2.5 seconds, the gen repair speed has been increased, I wouldn't call that a nerf to toolboxes at all.
You can not call it whatever you want, they've been nerfed into the ground.
Also, I don't know why anyone would treat a guy asking for killer nerfs named KillerKiller like anything but an obvious troll.

Now that we have charms, there's genuinely no excuse for the lack of any ranking rewards. It can't even be remotely difficult to make a simple charm to give away each season.
And I don't see how ranking up not being very hard is a reason not to have any kind of reward either; completing the archive challenges isn't particular difficult either, the point of the reward isn't that you did something hard but to show some appreciation for putting your time and effort into the game.
The lack of any devotion OR ranking rewards is unbelievable, at this point in the game's lifespan.
-
No, I want more maps in the original style. Simple layouts with the same aesthetic just tweaked in a different manner each time. Not like Springwood where the differences feels only surface-level either.
-
Deathslinger, he sounds like a cartoon villain from the PS2 era.
Swampy, is that you?
-
Jury is still out on Deathslinger. I highly doubt his full potential has been worked out yet.
Also I think anyone saying Deathslinger is the worst on release may be forgetting that the new Doc we have is Doc 3.0, not 2.0. The original Doc was so underwhelmingly terrible that the community voted to rework him immediately, even over the Wraith who had been the clear weakest killer in the game since the second or third month of release.
-
LOL @ that one guy saying the DBD subreddit is full of dev shills. They're still throwing a temper tantrum about the Ruin nerf in that garbage dump.
This whole THE MAPS NEED TO BE "FIXED" campaign is getting old. Not a single soul promised they'd fix something that doesn't need fixing "in the next patch".
-
Bunny Feng before Ace's F I N G E R G U N S?
I'm in shock.
-
I really wonder why lately there's this wait to have some random employee do the Survivor voices. Surely it can't be that hard to get ready?
-
And even with the leak no one got it :P
Not too surprising, this one was really far out there.
-
The new survivor has leaked along with some details about what the new chapter might be about, but there's still a lot that's unknown and the killer is still a mystery, so the guessing can continue.
My own:
The Hatred/Hate
The Madman
The Forgotten
-
I don't mind her backstory but they really need a new aesthetic. Granted, there's still a chance she looks unique in-game.
Also, yes, BHVR plz re: old lady survivor. (Or even old lady killer, I'm not picky.)
-
There's still currently more men than female survivors so this is actually evening things out. A slate of females was a bit overdue since everything was thrown off when we got David-Quentin-Tapp, and then with only Kate in between, Adam-Jeff right after. The real shame is that only David, and maybe Tapp, from that whole slate of male survivors is actually popular.
-
Good observation. I don't Feng is famous per se (or at least not more than obscenely-rich-former Rugby-star-surrounded-by-controversy David King), but there is a clear trend with the latest survivors.
-
How is reworking certain maps to add breakable walls (which is what they have to do in the future if you're talking about anything) NOT balancing the map?
I swear some of you just like to complain.

He might have forgotten a 0. Otherwise he's been "shelving" the game for most of its life.

This sounds like fun. I'm going to go ahead and pin this.
I'm really curious to see if anyone will actually get it.
Ooh,a pin! (That explains the 92 notifications.) Thanks!
But now I'm afraid no one will even come close.
-
I'll start us off with the obvious... The Prisoner.
-
If he's not getting another kind of trap, I can't care, honestly.
-
But wait, in what world does chains == werewolf?
-
No, this is quite normal. The next chapter is still over a month away; it might be another week or two before we get the first teaser.
-
I can't help you, but that is just about the best reason for wanting it.
-
At a glance,
- Ruin wasn't meta in 2016. It didn't work properly until mid-2017 and only started getting used at that point. See Dark Ages, below.
- Nurse completely broke the game on the release, and the traps-under-hook changes/gradual removal of infinites were much more significant events than some of the recent changes that got included
- The Halloween Chapter was a pretty big deal, when the game started to look really serious
- You didn't note the Dark Age, following Flesh and Mud, where the map, killer, and perks were all bad to mediocre, and the first time a BHVR released a lousy chapter after it looked like they could do no wrong. The game was an all-around mess at that point and, for once, actually looked like it might die.
-There has NOT been any noteworthy decline in players following ST, just the usual ebb and flow of players that always happens after new chapter releases. Same thing goes for 'Early 2018'. You could just as easily put the same thing at every single point on the timeline. People are always complaining.
- Off the top of my head, other important milestones left out were Legacy cutoff, the L4D update, and 1st Doc Rework.
- Also, I don't think any DBD timeline is complete without some of MCote's greatest hits. (e.g. "Infinites: just a mindgame" "You have to be SOO good to pull off anything resembling "infinite" jukes...")
-
Never.
I'm not even opposed to the idea of buying cosmetics either, there's just consistently been very little offered that I find interesting. None of the store cosmetics for my mains interest me more than what I already have, though Meg does has a set I really like. There are definitely kinds of cosmetics I could imagine them implementing that I would pay for immediately. But none of that is what we currently have.
-
No, you're not alone. It's quite clear.
Never forget that Dedicated Servers were the community's biggest "demand" for years. This is what happens when BHVR caves to whatever the community circlejerk decides is the "real problem".
-
I agree, getting keys in the middle of the match, especially w/o Plunderers, completely throws the round off balance, but take the green ones away too while you're at it.
-
It's not really a retcon, more that it seems they changed their mind about the story they wanted to tell with Rin.
-
Claudette (her backstory is simple yet very sympathetic) and Spirit. Problem with a lot of the killers is that even the ones who aren't already irredeemable murderers, if they were 'freed' their lives are still ruined forever. It'd feel like those bad horror movies where the protagonist survives but gets committed to a mental asylum or charged for everyone else's murders, etc.
-
Honestly... I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you already hate that streamer.
-
All of those things are capped.
-
Disgustingly hideous.
-
Inner Strength only excels when a single survivor is running it. Any more than that and you quickly start running into problems. Really, all the downsides and other options always brought up against Self-Care are full of caveats and flip sides that really negate the point. E.g., you're vulnerable whether you start healing or not, being downed with an M1 usually loses a lot more time than you could have spent healing, etc.
Self-Care is simply a solid and reliable perk.

Don't flatter yourself. It wasn't a remotely subtle joke.
I was just commenting on how Meg actually would be a more fitting choice.

Why does Adam have to get a Lakers skin huh?
Why not Meg? The survivor who already has basketball and athletic type clothing?
Huh?
What are you implying here?
Read this in the most sarcastic and overacting voice possible for the best results.
It's funny because a simple recolor of her track outfit for Meg would work better, but Adam could use any excuse for a new cosmetic at this point.
-
There's a No Mitherer and the Killer's running Thanta.
-
Sadly, this is the new normal until they do something about how the servers handle matchmaking.

First of all, Jake and David are free.
Second, Yui's last name is Kimura.
Third, my first purchased survivor was Ash.
Seems like OP is playing the mobile version, where I suppose David/Huntress might not free. But yeah I'm pretty sure Jake would be free even on mobile...
-
No. Worst in a while though.

I played it but did not enjoy it because of voice chat. People were so stupid and it felt like there was no real skill nor strategy. Additionally, there aren't really tutorials so it is unclear how the game works. I did not enjoy it when I tried it.
Ditto on the voice chat.
And if you think DBD solo play is miserable, oh boy, Deceit will make you appreciate even the DBD experience.
-
The thing about performance is that it's never going to be the same for everyone. The graphics have absolutely and intentionally (yeah, I know, as awful as that it is) been downgraded, both for performance and also to match PC with console.
But FPS has always been hit or miss. Many people with great machines complained constantly about how awful DBD ran back in the day.
-
Dedicated Servers.
-
They're not the same. They're five completely different perks. *shrug*
-
Entity have mercy on them.
-
I believe they are unlocked as normal, and are available if you later obtain the character. That's how, for instance, the Lunar cosmetics for Feng and Ace work.

There's a (gawdy) new shirt for Ace in the Rift.
