Speaking of cosmetics, at this rate Adam might make it to a full year without a single new item. What a legend.
-
Most people might be waiting to hear the theme first, but yes, it's a welcome new addition.
-
Nitpick, the thumbnail should at least say 2017-2019, Ruin was garbage in 2016.
-
I can't disagree with this. The Ruin section being written the way it was is more understandable since the perk affects the gameplay of Survivors. But The Doctor notes particularly should have said a lot more about how it's going to feel to play with him, not against him.

I don't think hiding ranks changes matchmaking from being garbage.
Exactly. It's still a problem. It still needs fixing. But now we don't have to suffer through endless "Look at these ranks!!! LOL Matchmaking!!" posts in the meantime.

Ranks really don't matter now folks.
They never did. Which is why this change was so overdue.

I just started playing two seconds ago and nothing has been nerfed this whole time, what's up with that.
-
Just another Monday on the DBD forums.

Such a bland changes recap, most of the buffs and nerfs aren't equal, also some of them are generic.
This.
If I'm reading this correctly, and I might not be, I don't understand the approach.
All these changes are given a +1/-1 value when most of them aren't comparable. The nerf to Exhaustion has the same value as a reduction of pallets. Respawning hooks has the same value as faster pickup animations.
Secondly, Killers and Survivors are designed completely differently. A change to one isn't the same thing as a change to the other. There are 18 different killers in the game, there's still only one survivor. This counts for instance, a buff to Freddy as a killer buff; but it's not really a killer buff. It's a buff to one killer, that doesn't affect any other killer, and only affects survivors 1 out of 18 (assuming every killer is played equally for simplicity's sake) times.
tl;dr IDGI

People like you have been "predicting" the death of DBD since 2016.
This ain't it.
-
Imagine being so boosted that you refuse to even play the game without your crutch perk.
-
Ranks are totally meaningless and they should have done this a long time ago.
Matchmaking still needs to be fixed whether post-match ranks are shown are not, but at least now we might get less morons blaming matchmaking whenever they lose a game.
-
There never has and never will and never should be a rule that every time BHVR makes a change to killer or survivor, they have to make some "equal" change to other side.
(Not that Survivors have anything close to Ruin, anyway)
-
Not really.
The obliviousness is what makes it so funny.

Really because I play more survivor than killer and you know what ruin does? Jack #########. The only time ruin is super strong is when everyone stops to look for it (Had about a month that when I was only paired with low ranks, mostly hatch games) otherwise it slows the game down JUST A LITTLE BIT until its destroyed. Its normally destroyed while im working on a gen, imagine that
Now im not saying youre bad, I dont even know you, but it would seem to me that if youre so dead set on survivor being hard and ruin being "Stupidly strong" you should play a little more killer. Not just so you can get bullied but so you get better at survivor, if youre running around looking for ruin instead of pushing through it.....it doesn't actually matter because is getting nerfed lol. SO you dont have to play killer or adapt or any of that you can just play survivor and win every game youre not camped on the hook
Why is this game so toxic again?
A. No asked/cares what sides you play. Believe it or not, playing both sides doesn't make you unbiased.
B. I never said I couldn't handle Ruin, IDK how you managed to read that from anything I said.
C. Regardless, it doesn't matter that "good" Survivors can handle Ruin without a problem (except that it makes it even more ridiculous to claim killers are too weak without it). The bottom line is that most survivors can't, all the way up to Red ranks. When a single perk gives you a massive advantage over the majority of the player base, yes, it's stupidly strong.

@OnryosTapeRentals said:
This is untrue. Neither tunneling nor Hex: Ruin are mandatory to play successfully as killer.
Right, though both of them were a huge plus for bad killers and against bad survivors.

As much as I love ash, MoM was one of the most unbalanced perks in the game. BL made loops incredibly strong almost to the point of being infinites. Self care was a powerful perk for a while but it does not matter anymore with all these second chance crutch perks survivor have.
And that's the heart of the issue, isn't?
Whenever a Survivor perk is nerfed, it's because it's unbalanced, overused, problematic, etc. Ruin is all of those things.
But whenever a killer or one of their perks is it, it's an outrage, devs are catering to survivors, it's okay for killers to have stupidly strong perks because "gens too fast!!!".
Yeah, all of MoM, Self-Care, and BL needed a nerf. So did Ruin, whether or not this particular change is good or not.

Name 1 survivor perk that has been "slaughtered" in the past year.
Is this serious.
Mettle of Man.
Balanced Landing.
Self-Care wasn't hit much further back either.

Basically if anything is annoying to survivors = nerf. If anything is annoying to killers? Eh, we'll give it about a year or so for a change.
Ruin was left in the game for literally years.
You all need to quit pretending like Survivors haven't been nerfed ten ways to Sunday over the last couple of years. No, every time a problematic Killer perk/killer is not "Survivor Bias!!!"
-
Lol.
Survivor perks have been slaughtered on a regular basis, killers finally get the #1 crutch in the game ("It's not a crutch because we ~NEED~ it) nerfed and the meltdowns begin en masse. Beautiful.
-
Demo is a pretty terrible killer, honestly.
-
Okay, I have to laugh at that, because apparently even internet trolls won't tell someone to play Sims 4.
-
That David was always an ***hole.
And Jane had sibling issues in addition to her mommy issues and her daddy issues.
-
I don't really do better or worse because of the color of the skill checks. There are definitely some maps where the red is a bit easier on the eyes than white, but I think on most maps it's the opposite. On the other hand, that killer perk that shrinks the entire range? That one just makes Greats so much easier to hit for me.
-
The difference between Ranks 2-3 and Rank 6 might as well be nothing. Rank stops being a reliable measure of skill way before that point.
-
New sounds would be nice. While they're doing this, maybe they could also do something about that weird leathery-bending sound that killers(?) make when they pick up survivors. That one drives me crazy. What is that sound supposed to be? Clothes stretching? I hate it.
-
Kate was the first new Survivor when the feature went live.
Kind of an 'eh' purchase in hindsight since I hardly play her and her perks are all hot garbage, but it was nice to have a new character for the first time in a while.
-
Claudette has a ton of outfits. The bad ones do still count.
-
Haddonfield doesn't need a rework. They fixed BL, they fixed the map.
-
Sadly, this is exactly how some people think it should work.
-
Feels really unnecessary.
I suppose if this does result in multiple Lerys it could be a good thing.

Why would they update something that is still working as intended?
Because it doesn't work as intended anymore, for one.
-
I feel like the whole duplication potential isn't even an issue.
As it is, I also think that the fact that White Ward was never updated after Franklin's Demise was added is definitely odd.
-
Bubba, but Wraith is definitely a close second.
-
Avoids the worst tier because at least sometimes lobbies still can be relatively quick, but apparently only when there are 30k+ people playing.
-
I am shocked that A Christmas Story has been degraded to "Other"

Millennial

Favorite: Legion
Least Favorite: Plague (of course)
I know Wraith and Trapper mories are pretty bland compared to the others but simple doesn't always mean bad. I actually like Wraith's mori, though it could use an update for sure. It's quick, frenzied, and merciless.

lol I even stated that it is possible to complete it solo, but with how much luck you need it stops being a challenge and becomes a dice roll basically.
And you saying that I wasn't able to complete a challenge that I deem not skillfull means literally nothing, idk why you'd bring this up, with how luck based they are it's obvious that many people got it on their 1st try, doesn't mean they're good or bad, just means they got lucky, there are just as many players that can't get those challenges, doesn't mean they're worse than the other half lol.
And yet you continue to say the challenges are "luck-based" but by that definition, the entire game is luck-based.
You are either know what you're doing and the challenge takes just a few matches, or you don't and you struggle until you get lucky. If that's "luck", then it's an acceptable amount of it.
-
Re:Dark Senses
Saying it "requires SWF" is just flat wrong. No, it doesn't.
Sorry, but you say there's no "skill" involved in the challenges and then you also admit that by yourself you aren't capable of completing a challenge that plenty of other players have accomplished with ease...

Was the DS added after that hard tunnel from that Killer?
Yes, yes it was. :P
-
Bond, Prove Thyself, Dark Sense, Decisive Strike
I was able to do it in three matches. Would have been 1, but in the first match after we got 2 easily, the killer decide to tunnel the **** out of me. Hence DS as the 4th perk.
-
How about Legacy, but without the Cheetos dust?
Or maybe Legacy without the dust, but with blood instead!
-
It isn't, though.
All the loops and safe pallets don't change the fact that the generator RNG is way too likely to result in an easy 3 or even 4-Gen setup, which has always been the main reason the map is killer-sided. Even BL being super strong on the map didn't stop it from having one of the lowest escape rates.
-
Creating a separate queue and slapping "Casual" over it isn't going to make most people play like any less of a try-hard.
-
I agree with everyone liking the jacket/pant, but not the hair. The shaved head... it's a no from me.
-
Honestly, those are some of the easier ones if you approach them the right way. Some need a little luck, but in general I prefer the Master Challenges actually.
-
99ing and then leaving the gate area is often terrible.
But if you don't know where the killer is and teammates are being chased, it's not a good idea to open the door if you don't know that the teammate is coming home. If they go down and you've already started the timer for no reason (and only if you had no reason), you're only hurting the team.
