yea its kinda stupid andcomes off as trying to get $$$ out of ppl

How is putting one of the pieces for free a "greedy" move?
They could have just both the entire thing in the paid track like they did with every other premium outfit. Throwing in the head piece, which unlike the other two, goes nicely with many other outfits was a nice gesture. You people will whine about literally everything.
-
What people are missing here is that there were Aura changes in the PTB, and the PTB auras were really bad and were complained about. The problem is that the ones we have now are completely different from the PTB ones, and are even worse.
-
The only thing odd here is anyone hating on this great new animation.
-
The Rift has been filled with recolors since the very first one.

Soon to be Pig, in about 8 hours from now.

Unique, hand-crafted maps would be so much better than the RNG mess that we're getting today.
Not sure how you figure that. Most of the strongest loops in the game are the ones that reliably spawn, and the most abused areas are abused because they aren't random.
-
Weird use of quotes.
-
Right? It's awesome. The chase music is "okay" but the menu music is definitely a great one.
-
You still had a 0% chance of escaping, because the Killer would have simply watched and downed you immediately after you jumped off the hook.
"But wait, if they have DS the-" If Deliverance still worked when there was just one survivor left AND killers had to fear DS, every reasonable killer would be forced to just drag any player as far as possible from the gates and make them bleed or wait out the entire EGC. You'd get the same outcomes we have right now except everyone gets to waste more time.
-
Eh. I hate that Claudette getting featured in the tome + having an awesome original outfit in the Free Rift track was a one-time deal, as once again all the interesting content for the featured characters is paid-only. The outfits themselves look pretty good, except Ace's which is average at best, but nothing to go crazy over imo.
-
The only two examples we have so far are fairly underwhelming, but I don't think the concept can't be implemented in a satisfying way.
-
Mikey only has a cue AFTER he uses his power, not while. He used to have one, but his level up music doesn't really match with the rest of the that list.
As for Spirit, I think that's just a fair design choice to make her power less predictable. Arbitrary, maybe, but it's far less BS than how she used to not even have a vault animation "just because".

I love when people use the phrasing "they rely on xyz perk" as opposed to "they use xyz perk". As if next week no one can use perks any more, and the pro people who don't use those perks will finally shine!!
I had that reaction too, and to give credit to the OP, I like that they said simply that bad players rely on those perks and not that only bad players use them.

Did you actually tested Alert...like ever in a real match to say that? I can understand the first part, but man, this perk not only does its job flawless, but it is also restriction-free. Everyone has their tastes, i know that...but there are other perks that are actual trash, like Camaraderie. That perk is PaThEtIc, not Alert. I dont think you realize the benefits this perk gives you. I sometimes see this perk run by a few players, not many, that's true, but often enough to come to the conclusion that people actually enjoy running this 'underpowered' perk.
Of course I've used it before, it's a three-year old perk.
And yes, I actually once thought it was decent too. After a while, even after it was buffed, I realized I had been wrong.
-
The pallet break detection is already way more useful (and more common) than wall break detection will ever be, and still no one uses the perk, so, no, I don't think Alert will ever be meta. Condemned to be another of the countless pathetically underpowered perks in the game.
-
AFAIK, the rank system isn't being taken out of the game, it just won't be used for matchmaking.

It comes from the fact that restrictions are being placed on one side, and not the other. And that's unfair. Survivors would be voicing their opinions about it as well if the situation was reversed. It should be both or neither.
It's almost like the two sides function completely differently and need to be treated differently as a result.
And FWIW, locking Survivors would not be treating both sides the same. Lobbies have never been intended to give Survivors the same information as killers.
-
All of them are pretty underwhelming. Yui is my favorite of those three, so I'd recommend her.

Is probably a bad design perk, because it allows you to fix your mistake but just pressing a button. Imagine a killer with a perk like that.
Anyways extending the chases is not that strong by itself, the problem is to lose 2-3 gens while chasing one single survivor because he has DH, and that happens with everyone in the game.
Rough times for killers.
Using a perk designed to gain distance to gain distance isn't "fixing a mistake" any more than using Spirit Fury or Enduring is to "fix your mistake" of getting stunned. You can arbitrarily reduce any perk that actually has a use into doing something that the player "doesn't deserve" to be able to do, and for what reason?
-
Using DH to get to a pallet/vault isn't the problem, it's literally the main purpose of the perk.
This isn't hard to understand, I don't know why this is at least the second thread in about a week where someone can't grasp this.

The skins are complete. You can see Jane's and the Clowns in the "Redeem a Code" screen they showed. They just haven't been putting them in the files until the actual update.
Oh, good catch.
Well, I can understand why they'd make that change, but I can't say I'm not disappointed.
-
This is what they should have done before they nerfed them, but toolboxes are total garbage now.
if you're losing against Survivors running toolboxes after the nerf, you would have also lost if they hadn't brought them.

More like they don't want leakers getting ahold of anything these days. These last two PTBs have been dry when it comes to datamining.
Possibly, and yes, it really sucks not being able to see any of the upcoming cosmetics anymore. OTOH, I'm not ruling out the possibility that they actually don't have everything finished or assembled like they did in the past because of COVID. Who knows...
-
It's not available this time.
Which isn't entirely surprising; there was a lot of downtime between Rifts 2 and 3, and the last one only just ended. So Rift 4 is probably a bit further away than the mid-chapter update.
-
I thought you guys were still boycotting the Ruin rework.
-
You thought a one day delay meant they might completely revise their announced plans? Maybe they aren't the (only) crazy ones.
-
Knockout didn't get nerfed. Overall it's much stronger, and the reason it won't be used has nothing to do with the basic attack restriction.
-
For one, it looks like yet again they've "updated" Haddonfield with uglier graphics and textures. This is at least the third recent patch to do this and I'm starting to really hate it.
They've also changed auras, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. The old ones were fine, imo.
-
BHVR's record for improving bad perks is abysmal, honestly. This time is no different. Literally ALL of the perks they decided to buff were already decent. The least usable one is Knockout, and obviously the problem with that perk has nothing to do with the perk itself, and it still won't be used for that same obvious reason. But on paper, it's still a strong perk.
4 good killer perks get buffed, but not enough to boost them outside the niches they were already filling.
Meanwhile, 0 survivor perks get any attention... and then they wonder why Survivors stick to the same, small handful of not-awful perks for years and years.
-
We can still hold out hope it will be added in the actual release. :(
-
Adam (how could you ever forget Quentin's disaster of a face?)

Hag, the best killer that no one plays. Would be Pig if not for the memes.

I know a guy named Ryuti got all Legacy 3 cosmetics on all but Nea. I remember this thread he posted on the steam forums years ago:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/154642901286052826/
He wasn't working for BHVR at the time, so it's kinda cool to see him doing so now. Funny because in that post a bunch of us are complaining about how legacy looks lol.
Most people, I'd say, were disappointed with how Legacy looked.
-
No one is "wondering" about the backlash. Killers go into a uproar about any and every change no matter how obviously it needed to happen. Small wonder that you threw in a comparison to the old Ruin nerf as if that also wasn't a no-brainer.
-
It's a shame if they really won't release them anymore at all. Even with all the debate and toxicity, it'd be nice to see some of the not-necessarily-competitive ones, like Survivor/Killer pick rates.

They are still in a middle of a huge promotion. Considering they have sold over 5 millions copies and in the middle of a promotion, 60K is actually sad. These devs don't try to retain their players is why the player counts are dismal. Nerfing survivors constantly, nerfing killers constantly and giving them cooldowns. Making for more and more boring gameplay.
BTW, the change is only huge for hillbilly mains, that have played him since 2016. Everyone else is unaffected, except you'll have one less killer at high ranks....boring.
60k is an incredibly high number. And that's just for one given moment, at one time of the day, on one of four different platforms. Breaking records in the fifth year of a game's life cycle is hardly "dismal", an "average" game of this kind is scraping by in the three or four digit range by then.
-
They had to come up with something to sell ridiculous side-shave #914.
-
On paper, Bubba got a much needed touch-up and Billy got an appropriate tap down. I'm excited to see the changes in action as well. They seem solid, though.
-
Yep, those of us who suspected this set thing was just made to counter people not buying any of the barely-even-recolored pants they attach to every outfit may have been right on the money.
-
+1
That popup is so incredibly annoying.
-
I don't think this would really solve anything. The people who are angry don't want a new Legacy, they want the old Legacy; and they only care about the old Legacy because other players have it and they don't.

You should see the DBD subreddit right about now. It's an entire mob of whiners who don't understand certification.

What is everyone's obsession with legacy?
Too many people were never told "no" as children.
-
I've got them on the OG 4 Survivors so far. Including Jake, who I had to play for maybe the first time ever? The first time in years, at least.
I'm pretty sure I won't bother getting it for Nea, but the next time I play I'll work on unlocking it for all the rest of the non-licensed Survivors I own.
-
Because this game doesn't expand, the range of actually viable options only get smaller and smaller with every nerf in the name of "balance"
A killer 5th perk slot would be a fine start and I've been wishing for that for years, but giving the same thing to Survivors would end up being a massive Survivor buff. Instead, Survivors simply need more options in general. Seriously, at this rate you'd think it would kill them to finally come out with a new item.
-
I'm not sure there's any reason they can't do this, so maybe it'll happen one day.
-
Why does it matter? Another summer event paired together Kate and Billy. This is basically the same thing, except instead of an old killer and the newest survivor, it's an old survivor and the newest (non-licensed) killer.
Seems like a silly thing to complain about even for DBD standards.
-
It's not hidden as much as it wasn't ever being tracked in the first place. That's why for years there was no option to regroup after a match. And even now, afaik, the game lobby doesn't "remember" who was in a SWF group once it finishes creating a match.
-
The Blight cosmetics were made available after their initial event, both in the store and next year, where were these low-effort jokes back then?
-
Or what? Is this some kind of ultimatum? Because this isn't a debate. It's not happening.
They've never promised or insisted that the event items would never be available in the future, they have repeatedly emphasized Legacy is never coming back.
-
I'm still baffled that they thought the perk needed any kind of limit. Oh no, no blood! How will a killer ever find them, it would be like....like... oh right, it would it would be just like chasing a Survivor who isn't injured.
Ridiculous.
