Man, you are entitled. Prime examples why this community can be awful.

I mean, I'm in this for my own enjoyment, not to make others feel good about themselves. If I'm not having fun, in whatever shape or form that happens to be, why even try? At the end of the day, that's what gaming is about, isn't it? Self enjoyment? Be it by yourself, or with others. In this case, I play DbD by myself, so I look out for myself. If that's entitled, then I'll freely admit it. Still won't change how I see this poorly designed excuse for a map.

  • I'd enjoy him more if I could master the art of the flick. . .

  • @TheGannMan Which is why I put in the nostalgia component.

No, don't disable it because one person is having issues. Fix it whilst keeping the D/C penalty enabled. Go report your issue in the bug subsection instead of making insane suggestions.

The D/Cing was rampant when it was disabled. Survivor's D/Cing over the dumbest things like the Killer, the Map or even the fact that they got downed first and that affects the three other Survivor's that are stuck in the trial with a much bigger disadvantage because of one immature little...ehm, problematic person.

One person? Did you not see the thread over optimization that is dozens of pages long? It's not one person that has this issue, it's many people. Devs just can't, or won't, fix it in a meaningful way.

It would be nice if the server could tell the difference between clicking 'leave match' vs hardware/software issues.

  • Iron Will, Quick and Quiet, Lithe, Dance With Me. Ninja mode. Can't loop if you're halfway across the map with a vault.

  • I think it's the devs lack of support. We get a dozen updates a year, with a handful of tiny hotfixes. Many, many issues lay unresolved for months, if not years, because of this. Additionally, what fixes they give, don't necessarily agree with the community, as if they're tone deaf.

While players themselves are a cause of frustration, it's the devs slow progress in any form that I see as the biggest frustration.

  • It's not just breathing, it's also footsteps and grass. Spaghetti code.

  • O? Then what is the killer supposed to do during EGC? Gates are opened, BT, body blocking, and exhaustion perks are a thing. One smack on a healthy survivor gives them the boost needed to make it to the gate. The majority of killers can't catch up to that. If the killer camps the hook, they can, at the very least, swap downs. It's the right play to make, unless the killer is using an EGC build and baiting Blood Warden.

So, what, in your view, is the killer supposed to do at that point? Wait at the gates and wave you all through? Again, sounds like you got camped by the killer, and ran over here to create this biased thread about it. Unfortunately, you aren't open to discussion. Your replies have been incredibly antagonistic, as you aren't getting the responses you expect.

  • Bait thread. My guess, OP Tbagged a few pallets, clicky clicky, got focused on by a killer, camped during EGC, died, and came to the forums to make a bait post.

What is there to fix? The perk is decent. Why do you folks keep asking for decent, actual usable perks to be nerfed. If anything we should be asking for the 90% of borderline useless perks to get buffed.

You misunderstand. The perk, when it works, is decent. I'm not asking for a nerf. I'm asking for its bugged state to be fixed.

When the perk bugs out, it mutes ALL sounds from the injured survivor, which includes footsteps. They could be running right in front of you, and you can't hear them.

  • @Ghouled_Mojo Congrats on your 1k post!

Can't. There are patches where it's fixed, only to be undone the follow up patch. It's a yoyo situation.

  • Don't tunnel gens.

  • Because the maps were created for nostalgia, not for DbD.

  • My issue with immersive survivors is they can force the very behaviors most survivors despise. If somebody is unhooked, yet the savior goes stealth mode and leaves the rescue on their own, it doesn't give me any other option BUT to tunnel. If the team is being immersive, and I finally hook somebody, do I continue spending ten minutes looking for people that don't want to be found, or hang around the hook in the hopes of spotting somebody else?

Then there are the survivors that are so immersive, they hold the game hostage. That's another matter entirely.

while trickster is bad, at least for the most part you don't get slugged for 3 minuets

Probably because it takes him three minutes to cross a map looking for somebody.

  • Nah. I've got a few dozen spread out, but I don't intend to use them. They seem to bring out the worst in players, and I'm not interested in putting up with that. It's why I don't burn the stacks of BPS I have.

  • @GeneralV said:

You're probably not playing much killer, then.

There is nothing fun in hitting a survivor, hear their scream, see the blood...and the hit gets denied. This is not fair, and it barely makes sense.

As a Plague main, this is a common occurrence with her puke.

It's a patch. It's not the second coming of Christ. It's meant to adjust balance and address bugs. It's never gonna be ecstatic joy pumping through your veins. It's just a patch.

'Patch,' where yet again, they do the absolute bare minimum for game balance or health.

  • Because matches last longer than six minutes.

  • Forty bucks in the last two years. Three skins and the first battle pass.

  • I feel ya. There will be matches that went badly, and I know there's no way to make any ground by that point.

Instead of waiting in the basement, though, go and break pallets/walls that had dropped. At the very least, you earn some extra bp.

  • Blight's teaser. The shadow transformation made me really hyped that we were getting a werewolf. Was severely disappointed.

Serious man? Seems to me that you know almost nothing of South America... But yes, you can check the flags of Steam profiles, it doesn´t make sense a peruvian, bolivian or colombian use a "false flag" strategy in his own profile just to scratch the argentinian players images before the community.

You will see dozens of players from Brazil here in this post assuring that I´m right.

I don't. Didn't know it was a single server either, so now I'm educated.

Just turn off post game chat and set your Steam profile to friends only or private. Sticks and stones and all.

  • @dISCONECTOR said:

@Rivyn You can check the Steam profiles

I know. Yet out of the hundreds of thousands of players, OP somehow runs into Argentinian players in half his matches?

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it sounds like OP just had a bad match, faced some salt, and is venting. Not that it isn't bad, or that OP isn't justified in their feelings, but it seems like a stretch. I could be wrong, though.

  • How do you know the players you go against are Argentinian?

Killers would complain about any survivor perk. They complained about bl and devs killed it, so now everyone use dh. If devs nerf dh everyone will use sb, and killers would complain about it

BL created infinites with it's passive stagger reduction. Is that healthy, in your book? Proper use of DH gives a third health state, and can elongate a chase from fifteen seconds to another sixty. All by pressing a key. That itself isn't healthy, though I'm unsure how you could properly adjust the perk without killing it. Half the community already uses SB as it is, so I see no change there. Though I do get annoyed when they 99 it. . .

  • Remember when they said last year that they were cutting back on other events to focus on the anniversary and Halloween events? Well, we've seen how much effort they put into this one.

Honestly, I wish the Devs would remove the hatch entirely since it's artificially lowering the already astronomical high kill rates of Killers and maybe we'd see some killer nerfs across the board.

    Sarcasm?

  • I like the size of them, but they're just so drab. The one pallet tone is boring. Not to mention the spots where killers can't get through, but survivors can.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Corrupt intervention really helps with what you just explained.

Unless they hide for the duration, the map size makes it moot, the killer choice makes it moot, or they don't care and power through.

  • Because DH only really shines in certain situations.

  • I mean, they have Freddy and Pyramid Head in game, both of whom are technically far more powerful than Nemesis. If you go by lore, that is. I think they did a decent job at his kit. The third SB could be removed. And I wish zeds had more variety. Not to mention the total let down the map was.

  • Let her white noise play over her terror radius. Maybe have her husk point to the direction she's phasing as well, so you eliminate standing plays. In that regard, you wouldn't have the guessing game at pallets. At least, not as much. She doesn't need much else.

  • No. At the higher end, you cannot get twelve hooks on rotation against a decent team. There simply isn't enough time.

But then, everybody has a different meaning for fair. If we go by the traditional 'no tunnel/camp,' well, then no.

What's considered 'fair' for survivors, though?

  • I dunno about your experience, but I haven't seen Spirit in awhile. A few days, at least. Wraith more often, but in my case, it's licensed killers that take the cake.

  • I don't see the point, unless you have it on Wraith with his kick addons. Kicking multiple gens, even with pop, to get any real benefit out of Eruption is just so time consuming.

People should stop being triggered by harmless actions like tbagging and flashlight clicking.

When people stop being insulted by a gesture in rl, then you can come back and say this.

  • @MrSmashem said:

The complaints are way overblown and mostly come from a lack of map knowledge, yet people keep parroting the same stuff instead of waiting until they've learned/understand the map.

I've only been able to get 3-4 games on it, so I can't comment too much on the loops, but I can understand if some of those need to be adjusted. In terms of the size/layout, I think it's mostly fine. There are a few sections that could stand to get trimmed down(like the library upstairs, for example), but I don' think it's that much worse that a lot of the other indoor maps, it just has a more complicated layout that's going to take more time to learn.

You realize that it's double the size of Red Forest, as it has two floors? You don't need 'map knowledge' to know that's far, far too large. Even if you DO have an idea of the map layout, the time it takes you to get anywhere if incredibly long. The devs went with appearance over playability.

Again, learning the map is one thing, actually making it playable is another.

  • It's enabled. Devs don't care about how playable, or balanced it is. They just see the money from the license.

  • I remember trying to smack a clicky clicky, only for me to be pulled into a 180 and smacking the truck, giving them time to make hatch. . . I wasn't a happy camper.

  • Doing gens in my face does annoy me. I understand where they're coming from, I do it myself, but still.

  • @Almo said:

I'll just comment why I'm not using mine. I have all perks on all Killers and the roughly 10 Survivors (haven't counted recently) I play. Until another character releases that I need perks on, using cakes doesn't help me get perks, just more addons and items, which I don't really have a shortage of.

But believe me, the time will come when I use the cakes. Eventually those bloodpoints will be had. :)

    1) Raise the BP limit so we can all stop being so stingy with how much we save, thus not wasting any.

    2) Ease the grind, so we all don't desperately salivate over any and every chance at BP compensation.

    3) More BP events. I know ya devs like to throw one or two a year behind CTRL + C/CTRL +V 'events,' and/or 'ruining the bp economy,' but it would go a long way in QoL and player incentive to throw a few more events for that grind.

'...right when you get off the hook' is the very definition of tunneling. The killer was soft-camping so he can start tunneling the hooked survivor the second he gets off. That's not a teammate issue, that's a killer is tunneling issue.

So, if I spot a survivor running to somebody I hooked, or I'm chasing somebody that's going to a hook, you consider that camping? My job as killer is to kill. If I can deny a save while putting pressure on apparent rescues, I'm going to do that. If the survivor is going to still attempt the save with me in the area, that's on them, not me. If they make the save, then SB/Lithe/DH/sandbag/or whatever AWAY from the rescued, and make it to a strong position, while the rescued is in the clear, why is it my fault? That was a bad play on a bad team mate. While I could go after the player at the stronger position, that holds the risks of losing the match right there. Or, I could capitalize on their greed, down the rescued, and apply pressure.

And that's all that it is. Capitalizing on a survivor's bad play. Now, if they rescued, body blocked, had BT, flashlights, etc etc, and did whatever they could to buy time for the rescued, and I still went after them, THEN that's tunneling. But if they sprint off and leave the rescued, well, that's on them.

  • 4k, but only after at least six hooks.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Is this right after you've pounced and missed? The stun cycle continues for about half a second into his running animation.

That's a thing? Because if it is, that's a serious oversight.

  • Not much. Maybe an hour at most. I put in one or two games a day if I'm in the mood, but that's about it. The devs behavior and the state of the game keep me from investing any more into it.

  • Personally, it's due to flashbang. It's like the Blendette with the flashlight that'll follow me in a chase, just to try for the blind. I've noticed Leons try the same thing. So, I'll force them out of the game.
