@jesterkind How so? At least with the old ranking system, you had variety in playstyles. Now, you either sweat, or face hackers, at least on killer side. Survivor isn't much better, where you either sweat or stomp. Personally, I'd rather have the old ranking system. At least then, I could find the sruvivor/killer with a meme build and play tag. Now, it's just sweating.
-
We don't know. They 'buffed' Clown, and he's still bottom tier.
-
@jesterkind The devs already admitted in a dev stream that the MMR system they have is incredibly poor. Balancing is always an issue, but they just compound the problem with this lackluster match making.

Do you mean the pryamid head nerf when they Nerfed cage camping? I remember seeing posts of that saying that he was a bad killer after that
Nah, when they input a delay into his power, so you couldn't swap into an M1 instantly. Players thought it was the end of the world, but then it dropped, and nobody really cared.
-
That Nurse's nerf was labeled as 'small' and 'mostly in numbers,' when they gutted her addons and increased her skill cap.
That god loops were nerfed, only to return shortly after with breakable walls.
That the Pyramid Head nerf would break him.
That adding collision to Spirit would break her (pre recent breaking nerf).
That Ruin was nerfed, in part, because of how 'overused' it was, while most survivor meta perks weren't given the same justification.
That Undying was nerfed because it was too much trouble for survivors to find five totems, only to add boons with infinite usage.
That we should trust the devs with SBMM, since they invested over a year of time into it, and it would come out better than old ranking system.

I don't agree. Footstep, breathing, and pain grunts sounds do work, well when they want to.
Unless they're using Iron Will. Worse, when the bug associated with Iron Will hits, and eliminates all sound.
-
Hate? No, they don't. To me, this is just an oversight. They added something they thought may be fun (though I'm inclined to believe it's because Propnight was released), but failed to take into account what that would entail. Thus, we get scenarios like this.
-
If you hop into a snowman mid chase, only to DH to a nearby pallet, you don't get hatch.
-
Who is having fun, though? Because the survivors I've come across only use the snowmen for the protection hit, then go right back onto gens. I keep seeing comments about the 'fun' this event brings, but in my games, that isn't happening.
-
@Pulsar said:
It's not a good event, but at least they tried.
Did they? Maybe I'm just paranoid, but this seems like them attempting to tie in with Propnight. Comes off as a bit. . . convenient that they come up with a new event mechanic just when another game with the same mechanic pops into the scene.

Why so serious? Take these 2 weeks as a way to relax! Grind some BP! Enjoy yourself!
That's not what the four survivors on the other side seem to want, going off my matches today.
-
Why are insults insults? They're just words, right? Yet they work. Being toxic at the gates is just so easy for survivor players to do, because there is nothing the killer can do to counter it. Yes, you can smack them out, but that doesn't change the fact that they're rubbing it in your face. How you handle it is up to the player, but again. An insult is an insult, no matter the form. It's especially effective when the adrenaline is pumping.

Lol not really, the snowman cant be "chased" its way too slow (plus survivor also blind fyi). Getting into one takes some time. It only helps in that regard if survivor is in say a deadzone, one just happens to be there and survivor has the time to get into it.
Doesn't need to be chased, Just need to take a second to hop in. Sure, it won't help if the killers right on you, but a second behind? That's another health state. I understand that it's a limited use, but still, it's yet another tool survivors can use to prolong chases. Dependent on skill and rng, of course, but none the less.
-
So, survivors get yet another health state in chase. Good to know.
-
Remove? Was it even a feature to begin with?
-
Turn off post game lobby chat, if you're pc. Seriously, don't subjugate yourself to that.
-
Sounds like people can't be insulted when somebody tells them to F off, or gives them the finger. Interesting how insults work in that regard.
-
@IronKnight55 That's you. Others react differently. Especially if they care about what they're doing. It's why some people can just shrug off being told to F off when doing something, while another will get pissed.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
You are joking, right? This is just so silly. Either push them out or ignore it.
Can't really ignore them, because then they'll vault spam to get your attention.
-
They won't. Remember, they gear this game to new players. Anything that gives survivors, a.k.a. their wallets, a challenge, they nerf. Just look at Undying, only to turn around and gift boons. I don't have much hope for the Artist making it beyond another patch before they nerf her to the ground.

Ah yes complain because someone is trying to help their team mate. It’s so easy to get around survivors since you are faster, and if not you just hit them and they go to deep wounds.
After that they can be tunnelled or you can go after the other. Complaints about BT are only from tunnellers/campers
No, it's not. Most maps have obstacles in the way, from rocks to walls to trees. Survivors can push a killer into them, hindering them. Most often, the body blocking is between the killer and a doorway or pallet gap. If the killer goes around, it can take the killer a good 30 to 45 seconds to catch up to the other survivor. That's a LOT of time to lose in a chase. Hitting them wastes time, gives the BT survivor a sprint boost, and now you're out two survivors.
So, complaints on survivor side about Ruin are, what, gen rushers? Sure, there are silly complaints about perks, but in this case, it can be valid. Body blocking with BT is annoying, especially if the killer is trying to play 'fair.' It's just asking to be tunneled, then fill the post game chat with complaints.

Well the devs should focus on balancing the game to where solo and SWF are equal playing fields instead of killer players constantly blaming SWFs for their losses.
And until they do balance it, if ever, killers and soloQ need to suffer against SWF. You're not going to stop anybody from complaining when one side has an advantage that the other doesn't.
-
BHVR has heard your complaints, and will be adding a boon to further increase gen speed in the next patch.
-
It's been a thing for over a year. Devs fix it once every six months or so, then it comes back in a followup patch. Just something else they can't actually do anything about. Now with Shadow Step, it's three times as powerful.
-
Honestly, probably because it didn't occur to the devs to add it.
-
They won't until another game comes along that incentivizes them to do something productive. Right now, they coast, because they're lazy. Nothing is pushing them to make a decent experience.
-
Zero for the last two months or so. Only came back to see the new killer. Games one foot in the grave for me.

It's pretty much confirmed that bhvr does not look at community feedback, at least they don't take that feedback seriously
We do look at community feedback, you can ask @MandyTalk, she's here many hours every single day to collect feedback and thoughts from the community, as part of her job.
I think there's a massive misconception regarding community's feedback, not implementing everything the community asks for all the time doesn't mean the feedback hasn't been looked at.
Maybe it shouldn't take years to implement simple changes, then. . .
-
I'd actually like to know this myself. I've just bookmarked the site so I didn't have to go looking for it.
-
Hope there's another nearby hook. You can fake it by going to a hook, let them rush it, before backtracking. Learn to body block so they can't get around you. Or you can just slug them all and let them cry in the post game lobby.
-
She had one. What you have is her previous nerf.
-
Remember when god loops were a thing for four years, removed for a week, then put back in thanks to breakable walls?
This tit for tat can go a lot of ways.
Still, I'll always consider this game survivor side, no matter the changes, so long as SWF remains as it is.
-
Your team mate unhooked in front of the killer. Why is it the killers fault for making the logical choice in going after the weaker survivor?
Why is it never the survivors fault for making the incorrect choice? Blame them. The killers job is to kill. Why hamstring them from their role because your team makes faulty choices?
The fact that GF could down you right then an there is just an indication your team mate was farming you. Yet I don't see anywhere in your post that you blame them for their lack of discretion. Or foresight, seeing as they didn't have BT.

Mate... I am sorry, but if you go 25 matches without killing anybody, that is most probably on you.
Is it, though? True, it shows skill level, but now that SBMM is supposed to be slotting you against survivors of equal skill, can you judge whether it's the player, or the system placing the player against survivors above their own level? We've seen how SBMM covers all killers, not just the one you're playing. Maybe op was playing killers they don't know well, and was being placed higher than they should.
-
Was called a wall hacker for using Plague's Black Incense.
-
You haven't been here long, have ya? What you see in PTB is usually what you get in the live version, minus a few occasional tweaks. Heck, live will sometimes be worse than PTB.
-
I don't mind the aiming changes all that much. I have a feeling it'll be more akin to Pyramid Head's nerf, in that it didn't really matter all that much in the end.
It's the terror radius that I'm against. He needed the stealth to make him viable to a degree. The devs do realize that he actually has a max range on his shot, right? Or that survivors have a 3rd person camera they can use to see him coming? No? Because it seems that they only listened to survivors with 30 hours of play time with this.
-
The difference is that the survivor can choose what totem to bless. Killers won't just randomly spawn on it. Granted, it'll get tricky when multiple survivors bring their boon, but still.
I agree that we should wait to see what stupidity will be brought with them, but it's still yet another thing killers need to waste time doing.

@HelloYou said:
Step one : Record a clip of them cheating
Step two : Go to a corner and face the wall
Step three : Tab out and watch a YT video or something till the game is over
Step four : get their steamID and report them
Step five : move on to the next game.
Interacting with them in the trial is what they thrive for, so don't.
Except reporting does absolutely nothing. The ever growing collection of hacker vids being posted almost daily is proof of that.
-
I only see it being used for hardcore three gen builds.

I really wonder whos the next "nerf X killer" now
Any killer, honestly. We've had a wave of Wraith op complaints. I remember when Plague was the op killer of choice last year. Blight will most certainly be a fan favorite. With Trapper getting his buff, I can already see the multiple op threads popping up for him. Deathslinger might come back, Bubba as well. Nurse, probably.

Low skill.
Lol.

Ds is op?? I honestly can't believe people are still calling it op after being nerfed.
Killers complain just as much as survivors so please stop with the bias
I think it depends on the context. During the end game, I'd say it's in that grey area of over powered. Nine times out of ten, it's a guaranteed escape, just like BT. Or when used tactically in a SWF. But then, just about everything can be pushed a few levels higher in a SWF, so meh.
To OP, lets wait and see how the nerf plays out. When they say directional sound during phase, I want to know just how directional, or strong, that sound is. Plus, how much distance plays a part. On long loops, I can see it being pretty strong if the sound fade is adjusted accordingly. As for the dust, well, you could already do that with grass, so it's not like it'll be a big change. Except on the saloon map. . . o dear.
-
'THERE ARE 25 KILLERS... AND ONLY 2 OF THEM ARE TRULY VIABLE. WHAT FANTASTIC BALANCE'
Fixed the title.
-
Because they want you to see that they're 'better' than you by escaping. A small few may be doing it for more points, but usually, it's just to be toxic.
-
I uninstalled for the first time in three years. I just don't want to sweat every match. Even when I go in with a meme build, survivors blitz gens and teabag out the exit. I know my personal rank should go down after, but it didn't feel that way. I don't have any interest in torturing myself any further, And that's just the MMR issues, I was already considering uninstalling due to the inadequacy of the dev team and their lackluster choices. MMR was just the last straw.
-
You must be high up in the MMR rankings, then. The devs turned this into a competitive game, you'll now face the competitive killers. Namely, the same three over and over and over again.
-
@konchok said:
Calling a perk that hasn't come out OP is like saying that the next killer will be twice as strong as nurse.
Not necessarily. Killer is all about time crunch. Adding more into what a killer has to do already just makes it worse. So while we may not know exactly what the boon perks will be, you still know that the killer needs to find said totem to deactivate whatever perk it's tied too. The very fact that the killer has to waste time in any form on a new mechanic tips the balance further into survivors favor.
-
Forty five minutes. Was Nurse on old Lerrys. Final two survivors simply would not progress the match. It only ended when I flicked a blink in the wrong direction I was trying for, which luckily put me in sight of Jane getting into a locker. The Jake made hatch.
In post game chat, they went off on each other. Two solos that wouldn't give the other hatch.
-
Didn't he cause the server to crash? I know I don't use him due to that experience.
