How DBD will address the Pressure
You may or may not know of a possible games that could pressure DBD, whether or not those games will pass isn't my discussion. I and many others hope that these games will at least apply some pressure to DBD to fix their game and make it fun to play. My prediction is they will see this threat and solve it in the worst way which, so far, is what their doing. And that is pushing content like dlc, cosmetics, sales, and in game events to encourage new people to play without knowing any better. My reasoning to this is that as soon as a beta came out, so did a double blood point event. Then DBD went free on epic games this week. And if you think it's too early to truly see what they will be doing then why didn't they fix the game earlier. If they cared and knew the issues of their game you'd think they would stop pushing content for a moment to balance and stop cheaters. And maybe they they haven't realized that these are issues but to that I say look at any video that provides criticism and they will tell you everything that needs to be fixed. Sure making a game is hard, takes time and you can't solve every problem. But these problems can be fixed, DBD is just hoping they can stay on top. What do you think?

Just based on how fast they bring out DLC, I don't have high hopes for them having the time required to make any fundamental changes to how the game works. Could even be quicker to just make a DBD 2.
They’ll probably figure just make another mega Mid-Chapter that does do things wanted by the community. Or get some big license.
They won't.
Ignorance is bliss
They won't. Many companies significantly larger than DBD have demonstrated the same ability to avoid fixing the core tenants of their game in lieu of hunting the all mighty dollar, and they don't.
They have bills to pay and their revenue stream is the final say, like it or not new content is what keeps a population growing. Sure, the game slowly devolving into a discordant mess could lose players, but that has not been realized in any significant metrics yet, and most likely they'd try to address that by, you guessed it, releasing more content instead of actually fixing anything.
They won't until another game comes along that incentivizes them to do something productive. Right now, they coast, because they're lazy. Nothing is pushing them to make a decent experience.
