Imma be blunt. Youre the reason why i put ttv on my name. I know it gives me a target. But if it makes my team escape because of some grudge you hold then i really win. I also run sabo build and so does my friend for this very occasion.

I feel this. I tend to get targeted alot but I'm the best in my group of friends so some days I'll intentionally put TTV in my name and then laugh as I loop someone for 3 gens and then they face camp me thinking they're making me mad. Meanwhile if I'm playing in a SWF at the time, I just laugh it off, tell them to get gens done and leave. Like.... congrats you caught me after tunneling me off 1st hook but I wasted your time so..... congrats I guess?

  • I play to break ankles and have good chases. If I can just get one good chase that last for a whole gen completion time (or two) then I'm good. It's part of the reason I'm so anti-camp and anti-tunnel. Both of those things ruin what I play the game for whether it's happening to me or someone else.

But watching someone try to use red stain manipulation and moonwalk to a pallet just for me to drop it in their face and point at them (and saying nice try, you thought. it's not BM I promise), those are my favorite moments. Making someone thing you're going to vault a window and watching them commit to it while you run off = Priceless. Whether I escape the match or not is irrelevant. I just want fun and engaging chases

I think the important thing we got out this thread is

    1. Most of us are not a-holes
    2. GoodBoyKaru sometimes streams and we all need that link XD
  • Bruh just chase them. you're faster and you WILL catch them eventually XD

  • Damn. I need to git gud.

No bull though, if I didn't take a few months off this game because it used to irritate my soul, I think I'd be around devotion 12 by now. I fell in love with Apex Legends and also started playing more open world games like 7 Days to Die and ARK when I dropped DBD last time

One is monetized. One is not. I have never until recently had people in my video games who are demanding an audience. I don't get paid if I beat them. They get paid if they beat me. I have a day job so the dollar amount is trivial, but it's more the point.

Who is getting paid? I don't make money off of streaming. I just do it for like the 10 friends I have. Maybe 1 or 2 of them will drop a sub or some bits but you talking like someone is out here paying us like it's our full time job.

The majority of people who put TTV in their name to begin with are relatively unknown and have a small and chill follower base. You'll never see someone on like XQC or Pokimane level (people who ACTUALLY make money from streaming) put TTV in their name. You have an extremely weird perception of reality and what TTV streamers are

  • @GeneralV said:

Then do it. It takes one click.

Technically more than 1 since I have to double click Steam, click DBD, go to properties, and then uninstall. That's at LEAST 4 clicks if not more. A lot of effort XD

  • GTA is almost rated M but kids have been playing that for over a decade. Game rating mean nothing lol

  • That was a lot. Thanks for doing this again. <3

    https://i.ibb.co/Scp6p6C/2022escapekillrates.jpg

For clarification on the killer stats their kill rates are on the left and their pick rates are on the right.

    Welp. Looks balanced to me.

Yes the stats don't say everything but if the highest survival rate across all maps is 50% (a 2 person escape) then clearly the maps ain't all that bad for killers as people claim they are

  • For the People - Heals target to full health, even from the downed state while only requiring one health state.

Broken status lasts 30 seconds for 1 health state. 60 seconds for 2 health states

  • The player base has gotten worse and make more excuses than ever but the game overall is much better. I think a lot of killers forget how the games USED to be before self care AND healing got nerfed in the same patch and where self care was actually a decent perk. Before breakable walls were introduced to make certain strong loops really weak. When a Brand new part could bang out an entire gen in like 10 seconds if uninterrupted and the syringe was actually an insta-heal from the downed state all the way to full health. Even keys (imo) got over-nerfed way into the ground to the point where they are next to impossible to make use of.

All of those things have been fixed and now we have people complaining because a perk that was broken since launch finally got fixed to do what it was supposed to do and not leave someone exhausted on the ground because the game registered that they activated their perk but didn't make the perk take effect (Dead Hard is fine) and complaining about people healing themselves within a certain radius of a totem that makes noise -_-

Tunnelers can't Mori off first hook anymore. Deathslinger and Billy got their deserved nerfs and you can't convince me that a good Billy worth anything was that hurt by the very forgiving overheat mechanic. They're adding in new UIs to help solo players and creating more perks to support beginners.

The game is fine besides matchmaking and toxic players ruining others gaming experiences. If they address the ease of tunneling and camping and incentivize actually not playing like a coward and thirsting for kills over just having fun and engaging with everyone, it would be almost perfect

  • @psionic said:

I would like to ask for a implementantion of a sound cue when a survivor activates an exhaustion perk (honestly, Dead Hard). Due to how restricting is the killer's FOV, sometimes it's so much confusing to understand when a survivor performed the DH, it makes me questioning if I missed an attack by my mistake, if I got juked or if the survivor in fact activated the perk.

Maybe an sound cue when the survivor is x meters from the killer.

I don't see why a sound notification would be necessary. For someone vaulting a window with Lithe, taking off running with Sprint Burst, jumping from a high place and zooming away with Balanced Landing, going through your attack with Dead Hard, getting hit and running very far with Overcome (idk what other Exhaustion perks there are off the top of my head) but if you visually have sight on any of these things happening, it's very obvious what happened if you know the perks.

If you don't have visual off the perk taking effect, you shouldn't be notified of it. Imagine I have Quick and Quiet and Lithe and I try to use it sneakily to get away and get some distance. The Quick and Quiet stops the fast vault sound but then you get a noise notification or something from me using Lithe? that's dumb.

You either see it and you know what happened, or you missed it and you need to figure it out

  • Lithe has always been my favorite exhaustion perk and I will still argue it's as good, if not better than every other exhaustion perk. But then again, I'm also one of the few people who thinks dead hard isn't any better than the rest of the exhaustion perk and prior to them providing the hit validation, it was actually the WORST exhaustion perk

  • So encouraging DCing is allowed now because I'm pretty sure I got temp banned on the forum for a few days for that like a year ago when I joked about DCing

  • Visionary has no counter.

(I was gonna joke that Plunder's had no counter but then I remembered they gave some killer an anti-chest perk. Kinda rude tbh lol)

  • I haven't seen hackers in years on this game and when I saw them, they were like speed hacking wraiths, trappers, and clowns on console. What region are people in where these hackers are so prevalent?

I guest East coast USA is hacker free zone. Or I just get lucky enough to never encounter them

  • It's not super common but.... yes it is?

I'm guessing you just read the title and not the thread where not just me, but other players have mentioned that this has been an issue at least once.

  • @IsMmrReal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2755165#Comment_2755165

At least there are Dead zones on Coldwind. I have yet to come across a variant of gideons where there is a deadzone. closest i have seen was there were 2 tiles in a row that didn't have pallets. But still enough distance to make it to one.

There's also no dead zones in terms of hooks. You ever tried running a sabo build on Gideon's and seeing that the killer can reach 9 different hooks between 2 floors and sometimes there are literally 2 hooks in the same room?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

If there's no counter to the perk going off then why doesn't it activate if you're picked up and hooked?

    Check and mate.

For real though, is this a bait post because I'm pretty sure "not slugging" is the counter to a perk that only works when you get slugged.

I mean, last night I got a lobby that had two TTVs whose names I recognized from another stream I frequent, so I went and hung out with them all game (after asking if they'd rather play for real or have a friendly game.) And there was one time I got a survivor twice in three games and I was friendly to them the second time because I thought that was cool and we'd had some shenanigans the first game. And there was one time I was having a hell of a bad time with a challenge and finally gave in and changed my name to "I need 4 stuns pls," and after some games, I got a killer that let me do it.

Mostly names tell me if I'm facing a SWF or a streamer. I don't think that's a bad thing, though I'll admit there isn't much reason to have them displayed, either. There was more of a point back when you could switch killers in the lobby and respond to all of those names like "mori me myers"/"ghostface's wife"/"boopthepig"/"spirit=dc." Running into the same person twice is very rare unless you have crossplay off; this game is just too big.

I'd be down for letting the survivors see the killer's name in the pre-game lobby as well.

Oh certainly, there are a number of friends I still play with who I met through seeing their TTV name and so on, but that information would still be available after the match as well.

But I also agree that making the killer's name only visible to survivors would be just as fair a compromise to take names away altogether.

  • @RainehDaze said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2755214#Comment_2755214

Only if you're reporting them for what they say in chat.

If you're trying to report hacking or something, not being able to see which player is which in game is going to be an obstacle, isn't it?

I believe the idea was just about seeing names in the lobby. In the game, they would still be visible although at that time, most killers don't pay attention to the name unless they have a reason to. I know when I play killer, I'm looking for "the Meg" or "the Jeff" not who the player names are.

  • @GeneralV said:

Pretty sure everyone already does that.

Literally was about to say the same thing.

  • This is a bit of a dramatic take and there are plenty of times I and friends of mine have missed skill checks because of lullaby even with some of us having between 2k and 4k hours. Now part of this may be due to the fact that most of us are streamers and get distracted by chat or we're just goofing around and talking to each other and not staring at the screen in silence sweating and waiting for a silent skill check, but the point is, the perk does work well at even 3 stacks tbh.

And then could you imagine Max stats lullaby against new survivors who miss even regular timed skill checks. That would be unplayable XD

  • @RenRen said:

I mean maybe if they're wasn't cheaters in the game I would be more open to the idea but right now? Yeah I'd rather they stay.

I think that's a separate issue but also fair. So I would have to ask, would you be in favor of the survivors being able to see the killer's name for the same reason? (because cheating killers exist too)

  • @RainehDaze said:

Names need to be visible somewhere for the sake of reporting.

If it's not the lobby, you're mostly just asking the people petty enough to do this to check in game.

Absolutely. Names would still be available AFTER the match is over. This is only referring to pre-game lobby.

  • @GeneralV said:

Eh, there is very little reason a killer would dodge you solely based on your name. Unless you have a name like "Steve Looping You" or is in an obvious SWF, such as: "Summer Eletrohits" and "Summer Eletrobits".

I am not making those names up, btw.

Then you've brought the harsh treatment on yourself. But otherwise, you should be fine.

I hear what you're saying but I'm referring to this thread here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/305540/facecamped-and-tunneled-by-the-same-killer-repeatedly/p1

This thread is specifically about a killer choosing to target a single player because they did something in ONE match and every match they were in together afterwards because the killer was able to see who they were beforehand, the killer could single them out 4 different times after the fact.

And again as I stated in my initial post although not as bad as this person's experience, I have had that happen to me once or twice where a killer recognized me from a previous match and then decided to play toxic towards me based on some I did a few games ago.

?? There are infinites that 110s cannot use their power on. That is WHY it's an issue. This exacerbates it even further.

This is what I'm saying. What infinites? There have not been infinites in the game since Balanced Landing got nerfed like a year or 2 ago and even THEN, it wasn't an infinite. Bad killers just didn't know how to shut it down or didn't have the right perks (Bamboozle) to block windows that were part of the loop AND we didn't have breakable walls and missing walls back then.

The McMillan one I'm thinking of specifically has no wall beside where that window is so you can't even use that loop in the main building with the upstairs much anymore because the killer doesn't have to go through a window like they used to.

  • @CrowVortex said:

I have a problem with boons working on multiple floors, especially on rpcd with how it's designed.

I have no issue with this as long as it applies to everything. I shouldn't hear your terror radius if I'm on a different floor. You shouldn't be able to see me a survivor with BBQ if they're on a different floor. Doc's shock shouldn't affect me on a different floor.

I mean if we're going to commit to something based on a certain radius not affecting people based on elevation, we gotta commit and go all the way.

I have 4.5k hrs and I can vs him far better than some other killers with anti-loop (I hate Nemesis and Artist for example). Idk... but some people just avoid his trail like it will insta kill and therefore get M1ed pretty easily. And yes you can "tunnel" with him more efficiently (first of all I need to get across the map for that lol), but maybe you should not depend on all your 2nd chance perks to carry you through the match? Or maybe don't heal right after uncaging/unhooking someone. Or maybe don't get on the killer's nerves. There are many reasons why a killer tunnels. PH is no different in that case than the others.

    He's fine.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2751576#Comment_2751576

Don't forget, he's one of the killers with really bad addons. The others are Freddy, Twins and GF.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2752376#Comment_2752376

I think this was someone who did their daily or maybe an inexperienced PH-player, but it demonstrates pretty well that you can easily loop a new or average PH. You need a lot of practise to be good with him. Which is fine, since some other quite strong killers are the same (Nurse and Huntress f.e.)

I wouldn't call them inexperienced. They knew how to moonwalk and use red stain manipulation and ALMOST caught me off guard once or twice. I just managed to mindgame them a few times and get a few dodges in that were VERY close to hitting me (see the 2nd to last dodge before he dropped the chase)

  • @Veinslay said:

You should never give survivors the hatch, they're so toxic why would you even want to lol

Very few survivors would actually act like this much of a dick tho. The times I've been given hatch by a killer, even if I was mad at them for how they played the rest of that match, I would say gg and thanks for hatch every time. As would any of my friends I've played with

  • My go-to build is For the People, We'll Make It, BT, and Saboteur (or Inner Strength for self heals but more recently CoH)

Essentially I play to keep my teammates alive so I try to go for most of the hook saves. If the killer isn't there, I get quick heals from WMI. If the killer is there, BT helps. And when I see someone getting tunneled, I'll pop FTP to make myself an easier target and make it harder for the killer to tunnel them.

"The time it takes to override the Killers perk permanently while my own perk cannot ever be permanently destroyed....no thanks"

I don't even know what your rather silly comment has to do with the topic.

I don't think this is the solution to Boons, but it's a nice idea and something I could see a future Hex doing.

Because it already takes time to boon a totem. For that to be instantly overwritten because a killer got a hook or the last gen pops, and then to have to re-bless it (which takes even longer than blessing a normal totem). That's why i said no thanks. If there's no dull totems, oh well. That's the risk of bringing a Hex perk.

It's like running deliverance risking that you'll be the first person hooked or that you won't be able to unhook someone and heal them first to get your perk at all. Some perks are just high risk/high reward.

  • The time it takes to Boon a Hex..... no thanks

  • @fulltonon said:

Well it's obvious toxicity and shouldn't be norm in the PvP games from the beginning, banning them only does good for community so I don't see any reason not to do so.

I'm not saying it's a good thing people trash talk, I'm saying if games start banning people as you suggest for saying things like "you're bad, or gg ez", that's a huge over step and most gaming companies are not gonna go that far for something so minor. Hell, they barely punish racist and more serious toxicity issues in the gaming community (not just DBD)

  • Nah. And I mainly say this because there have been many times I've been disconnected due to an internet or power outage issue and i was just either running around or working on a gen. Why should the killer receive Pop, BBQ, or anything like that because my internet died and I wasn't even interacting with them?

I'm heavily survivor sided most of the time but absolutely not. Pyramid head is loopable but some of it is just a guessing game of whether he's going to commit to his attack or not.

Just had few games that were almost same. Tournament style play. I've never seen this style so often before the event. There is nothing going on: no flashlight rescue attempt, no bodyblocks, just the boring Shift+W.

They don't loop, just run in straight line and predrop pallets.

They don't heal, just sit on gens, even when they are together and could easily heal each other.

They don't even rescue sometimes, gens before friends.

What killer are you playing primarily out of curiosity? Because depending on the killer (Huntress for example) pre-dropping pallets if she doesn't have line of sight on you is the strat to use. Now if you're a Wraith, Trapper, Clown, or something like that, deciding not to loop is pretty silly

  • @FrostbiteWintersBane said:

I wish BHVR made clearer definitions of what they constitute reportable harassment in-game. On the website and forum Game Rules pages as well as during in-game reporting. When I search the forum, I get the notion that BHVR does allow a certain amount/level of insults, for instance. Different games/developers/platforms allow for various degrees or forms of insults, intimidation, harassment or "smack talk", as well as having different subjective perceptions of what they even constitute to be an insult to begin with.

Personally, I think the healthiest thing for a community is to not even allow the "mildest" forms of rude remarks: "ez", "noob", etc (even if they shouldn't necessarily result in anything more than short, temporary chat suspensions). I don't agree that they're inherent to online gaming - a notion some (or majority parts of some) developers/communities have (though not all) - rather, they're made to be. As far as I understand BHVR's position, those "mild" insults should not be reported.

But what I think is healthiest to allow isn't necessarily what this post is about: which is to have clearer formal definitions of what this game constitutes reportable insults in-game and what it doesn't.

This may sounds blunt, but if you're genuinely hurt by someone saying "ez, noob, you're bad, get rekt, put some ice on those ankles" or anything like that, you probably just shouldn't play online PvP games. There are VERY few games that will block terms like that (Overwatch did block gg ez and has a filter to automatically type something nice in your place but that's a rarity).

Things that should be reported typically include racism, homophobia, hate speech, threats, mentions of self harm, things that are just inherently more serious and hurtful.

If someone says ez, just tell them their mom was easy last night and move on. Just gotta know how to hit em with a good one liner and make the rest of the group laugh

  • @Dino7281 said:

  • Honestly, to see what the newest complaint of the week is.

Also look for terribly bad takes so I can laugh at how ridiculous they are. Like, genuinely it provides me with a good laugh and then i just carry on with my day

  • DBD was my main game for the longest time and I've been playing since Freddy was first introduced to the game (Poor original Freddy who had to put you to sleep)

Now....my friends have to literally drag me into the game and I'll play for like an two hours tops (with the 10 minute survivor queues, that's like 8-10 matches included match times and lobby times). I've said it before in previous posts but I want to play for fun and some matches are, but like half the matches are dealing with campers and tunnelers and everyone knows the only thing you can do against that is "jUsT dO gEnS" so now I'm playing m1 simulator because 1 players decided to make the match boring by not chasing anyone.

It's just a drag to play now

  • And I didn't even mention the DDOS attacks, the racism, the homophobia, and so many things that many players bring to this game

  • Scarecrow fits DBD the most out of any of them
