His maximum knife at baseline is 44, his movement speed while wielding knife is slower than survivors, and both accuracy/projectile speed is not that good either.
My bad, I was off by 6 knives.... he's still a low skill, high reward in chase killer
-
Hope there's high walls to run around. Otherwise you do nothing but die because there's not much you can do. In terms of being oppressive in chase, he's one of the strongest for very little skill required. Hold W and launch 50 knives and land like 8 (or however little he needs to hit you with)

But why though, there is no reason to do so.
Hatch itself is badly designed aspect of the game, trying to opt out it is only logical tbh.
Hatch, especially in its most updated form is a killer sided mechanic.
And that's not an opinion, it's literally just numbers and basic math. RNG dictates that the hatch has just as much chance of spawning near the survivor as it does the killer so with those odds being equal, what does that leave? Speed. Guess who the faster player is in the game.... the killer. That on top of the fact that the killer can run through the map searching without a care while the survivor has to search AND worry about being spotted and killed. So mathematically, the killer almost always has a higher chance of finding hatch before the survivor unless they just get REALLY lucky.

Or actually get good.
I'm very good at the game actually. being good doesn't stop me from getting left on hook because 3 idiots can't stop what they're doing and be altruistic.

Another one of these threads. the answer is no.
Remove SWF and you will lost the majority of your playerbase. This game is pretty much only enjoyable when i play with people I like and trust. Randos suck
-
@StarLost said:
This is unfortunate, but it's not purely a survivor issue.
I know that 90% of the challenge of doing an adept as killer is getting a group where someone won't DC when you start winning.
DC and AFK penalties in this game could stand to be tripled.
What you're talking about sounds like a completely different issue than what OP is referring to???
Like, they're talking about the game giving a disconnection penalty to players who didn't DC because of some technical error and you're talking about people DCing and rage quitting intentionally because of how a game is going. Those are 2 separate issues entirely

Lol that is exactly WHY I like it. Its kinda like a Sprint Burst I get to carry at all times. No dealing with any latency or technical BS like with Lithe or DH.
To each their own. Like I said, I don't even run exhaustion perks and haven't done so for over a year. When I used to, it was Lithe so I could control when it was used and plan my route out. I've never like Sprint Burst for the sole purpose that it forces you to walk or use it if it's off cooldown

the game has been 75% of the time survivor sided! And it being Killer sided for a while would REALLY justify it!
And that would be survivor problems ... not mine... because guess what... killers being underpowered is 'not a survivor main's problem:' according to the survivor sided!
I don't need to hear 'learn to play' when i've been playing with my best killer, my best add-ons and perks (not huntress btw) or any other killer I play way more often! just to not been able to get any kill on hook because 1. I need to camp in order to do so or 2. the game is again 75% of the time Survivor sided! It needs to change or more killers will leave
If you're running ANY killer with their best add ons and best perks and can barely get a single kill, you're just bad at the game. Sorry to break it to you. I don't leave with less than 2 kills, with 0 camping and tunneling (unless gates are open and there's only one injured person)
-
@freak_115 said:
This is Absolute BS!!! This needs a buf Irri add-on with huntress! will never increase higher then 1 hatchet!! This is absolute BS. Leather loop add-on should be able to increase the amount of maximum hatches even if irri-head sets it on 1.
And just 1 hatchet alone on huntress is a terrible add-one! make it base 2. and make the limit variable...
I don't care if 'red rank huntresses' will abuse this add-on when buffed... Survivor's are abusing Boil Over, Boon circle of healing, dead hard and BT all the time... and many more OP perks... Killers need a buff and I'm suggesting starting with Irri-head huntress
You must be new here lol Yea no.
It was nerfed for a reason and we're not going to those dark days. The second I found out we were up against an Iri Head huntress, I stopped playing the game, ran to the killer, and died on purpose because those games were unwinnable before it got nerfed

I mean slugging a person and searching for another is ONLY option killers have to get 4k?
But even then a survivor can be extremely petty and hide for ENTIRE duration of bleeding out, that's stupid and shouldn't happen.
or people can stop slugging for 4ks and just hook people and play the game out however it goes???

Try it out you might change your mind. 50/50 killers decide I am not worth chasing when they see me get that massive headstart.
I've used it which is why I said it was meh. I can get just as much distance or more out of any other exhaustion perk (I typically don't use ANY but if I do, it's Lithe) and yea the extra distance is nice, but the fact that you can't control the activation is what makes it "meh" to me. I'd rather be intentional about my exhaustion perk if I use one at all

I gotta say I am surprised nobody seems to be using Overcome? I thought everyone was loving how that perk sounded. I think its really good.
I wasn't aware that Windows is such a popular perk as well.
Seems like Boon Circle is the only newish perk survivors are using.
Overcome is probably one of the most meh exhaustion perks. I hate sprint burst and I'd probably run that before running Overcome. I'm not surprised at all that no one is using it. Get smacked and run a couple extra steps at a time out of your control isn't exactly a top tier perk

Look, we have enough 'perk solutions' in DbD. Do you work for BHVR? No one wants to run Whispers just for the off-chance you have survivors that do this nonsense.
I literally run Whispers on every killer because it's a good perk and i'm not a sweat lord who runs 4 slowdowns and try hard perks.
You wanted a solution and I just gave you one that's already in the game. Take it or leave it. I could've just said git gud and find them, but I wanted to offer an actual solution lol
-
People are sweat lords and need more friends is what it boils down to.
I play to have fun, whether I win or lose. Then you have people out here who are more concerned about efficiency than fun like they're being paid a full time salary to get the best results possible to report to their supervisors or something.
Like.... no one gives a damn if you got a 4k or if you bullied some noob killer if you played like an ass to do it. Go pat yourself on the back and make a cookie I guess because people are just trying to have fun
-
Not being snarky or sarcastic at all when I say, literally there's a perk for that.
Run Whispers.
If you know how to use it properly, you can find people hiding relatively quickly

I clicked on this hoping to find a new strategy to anger survivors. Albeit, I do sometimes purposely exploit the fact that they have a bad teammate so that they get more titled. I almost feel bad about it. This David kept farming them off hook and I just let him... They lost the will to play. It was kind of awkward.
I was gonna say your comments bring me life, but I'm pretty sure that's the opposite of what you want since I'm a survivor main. So your comments bring me death and misery :)

I thought you were gonna be balanced and say 'Slamming 5 gens in less than 5 minutes". You know, the survivor equivalent of try-harding.
Nah because nothing triggers me more in this game than my own teammates tbh. I'm mostly unphased by all the bs killers do at this point but when it's my own teammates who ruin the game, I go full tilt

Yikes.
I mean as far as standard gameplay goes.
I haven't had a hacker in over 3 years, games are hardly ever taken hostage and honestly i would say the survivors are the only one truly capable of being held hostage. A killer can eventually catch a survivor if they aren't bad at the game so there's no true hostage holding there. I don't even know what stretched res is tbh shrug

Maybe show those hooks in a different color if using Saboteur but idk how they would code that those two perks interacting with each other. There's not really much of a reason to though

Nah you're good. Def not bannable. It's the right move to do and I would expect any killer to do that to me if I repeatedly ran to an area where I knew there were no hooks because people were sacrificed there

Boil Over isn't strong, and neither are these perks. I designed them to be as uncounterable and annoying as possible without breaking the game.
a Third Seal that can't be broken isn't strong? Literally not being able to see where anyone is that gets knocked or hooked.... lol okay
Side note: Iron Grasp, Agitation, and Slugging all counter Boil Over if you're looking for counters
-
@GaslightGabby said:
Let's give a few killer perks the Boil Over treatment, shall we?
Third Seal- No longer a Hex
Dragons Grip- Increase the window to be Exposed to 60 seconds, and remove the cooldown.
Nemesis- The Obsession's aura is permanently revealed to you and the oblivious status effect is permanent.
Monstrous Shrine- Rework it to a Scourge Hook that only forms in the basement. It now blocks all generators for 40 seconds after you hook someone in the basement.
It's amazing how strong some of yall think this new Boil Over is but okay. I guess I didn't say the perks had to be remotely fair or realistic XD

For dms pr i just let go of the gen before pr activates then hop back on. It's not given me much problems. Boil over slap that on any map with a sabotuer user or someone with boon exponential it completly blocks hooking sometimes and encourages slug camp. (Which we wanna move away from toxicity not encourage it)
I always let go of gens before hooks but PR still a powerful and annoying perk on its own. Worse when combined with DMS.
As far as the situation you described, that's so situational and rare. How often do you see anyone running Saboteur or Exponential or both?(I run it but pretty much no one else i am on a team with does). What you're describing would take coordination from a team intending to play toxic and they wouldn't need Boil Over to pull that off if that's what they wanted. Realistically this perk won't have all that much value on the majority of maps
-
@Leachy_Jr said:

So how do you counter boil over?
Iron Grasp and Agitation (either or both)
That and considering that 95% of most maps won't require you to drop somewhere to get a hook, takes away arguably the most powerful part of the perk.
-
I don't even plan to use the perk but I just take issue with people complaining about something like Boil Over while having absolutely no issue with things that are more busted (Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch combo) or even worse, arguing about how "unfun" it is as if this community has even cared about "fun" in this game. If anyone here truly cared about fun, hey wouldn't slug or run things like "Sloppy" because it drags the game out or is boring to play against as most people are saying about Boil Over.
The arguments just fall flat because not many people here actually care about fun with the playstyles they encourage
-
Especially when in combination with Pain Resonance (which pretty much every killer runs now because it's stupid strong) it's the most busted perk on the Artist, and it's damn near OP on any high mobility killer (Nurse, Blight, Billy, Spirit Wraith with cloak speed add ons, Freddy if teleport is off cool down, Demo if portals are set up, Nemesis if a zombie happens to be patrolling your gen which happens often)
I've never known a more busted perk combination in the game survivor or killer side. (Short answer, hate it but mostly when combined with Pain Resonance)

These takes are always weird to me. When people complain about OP perks ruling the meta, they mean they want those perks toned down in some way so they aren't meta anymore. They don't mean that they want even worse and more obnoxious stuff made that changes the meta by being even more busted than the stuff people complained about. That's power creep, and it kills games.
It really sounds like you are missing why people have an issue with the perk. It also seems odd to bring up the whole meta argument when admitting the perk isn't ever going to be meta. No one thinks boil over is a good perk now. It's simply an extremely obnoxious and unfun one now. The person who uses it may not increase their chances of winning but they sure increased their chances of upsetting the other side
I brought it up because the number of posts about this is ridiculous and overhyped. It's being talked about over and over as IF it was some new meta busting perk and it just isn't. The same thing happened with saboteur when it went through it's most recent change and survivors ran it for like a week or two and people came here complaining about toxic 4 man swf sabo squads OP and all this nonsense like it didn't have counterplay.
There are meta killer perks that are stronger and more annoying to deal with than the new Boil Over but we just have to deal with them (Pain Resonance is a pain in the ass, pun intended, new Dead Man's Switch) Boil over is easily weaker than both of those individually and definitely weaker than the two put together (especially in the hands of The Artist, Freddy, or any high mobility character like Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Demo with portals set up, etc)
I just find it weird people are even complaining about Boil Over at all but this is the DBD community so I shouldn't be surprised

Hahahaha. "All 3 are fine" Sure, sure. This conversation is over. Have fun being a troll
It's only trolling if I'm joking. The same thing happened with self care when it was the most used meta survivor perk years ago. When everyone cried about self care until the perk got gutted to the point where no one ran it anymore, then guess what happened after that. Well if you were here at the time you know that survivors eventually stopped healing themselves and started playing injured and then the new complaint was "gen rushing" and the birth of the DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, and whatever 4th perk (Iron Will or BT mostly)
Now people want to complain because survivors have a decent healing perk again (and a decent meme wiggling perk).... it's a cycle that's going to lead back to the same perks being used because nothing else is worth using
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781620#Comment_2781620
Here's the problem. There's a BIG BIG difference between fun/fair perks that can become meta. And perks that break the game in an unhealthy way
Do I REALLY need to detail why boons are unhealthy. When we already know why they are....?
Do I REALLY need to detail why boil over is a stupid perk and very unhealthy ? Does it sound HEALTHY to have a perk that can disallow a killers hook because they literally cannot make it anywhere and the survivor keeps doing back to the same spot...?
Boons are not unhealthy because some people don't have the skill to play around them. All 3 of them are fine.
-
Not that Boil Over was ever gonna be meta but I find it funny how we (we meaning the community) complain about the meta and everyone running the same perks, but when useless perks get buffed (and are still meme worthy), we immediately want to nerf them to ensure that the meta never changes and no one is ever incentivised to run other perks.....
-

Predator: Redesigned. Now: Every time a survivor performs a rushed action while you are in a chase with them, you gain 2% Haste. This resets on injuring or downing a survivor.
Diversion: After being chased by the killer for 10 seconds, this ability activates. You become invisible for 2 seconds and the killer receives a loud noise notification at a random nearby vault or pallet location.
I'm just imagining the killer having sight of the survivor at the 10 second mark and watching them fade out of existence XD

I've honestly been laughing at the outrage of Boil Over which has been a meme since it was added to the game. Like really, there are so few situations where you'll have to drop off a high place to hook someone. But you'd think this is the most toxic and OP perk in the game if you read the forums (when people aren't complaining about Dead Hard which also is just strong but not OP)

Lol... if you dont know hits are validated favouring survivors now, well I cant be bothered searching through posts etc if you dont know this is the case. Boil Over went live, beyond all belief they actually thought this was fine to go to live servers. COH in particular is completely broken and while many maps did get less safe pallets, there are still too many of them that can easily join strong loops together if a survivor has half a brain.
Nah i hate when people say this because it simply ain't true. Hits before were validated by the killer and were never fair to the survivor who on their screen were way ahead of the swing. Alternatively now, they are decided by the server. So going from a one sided hit validation system to a neutral party does not mean it favors the other side. That makes no sense
-
@Rivyn said:
Something you're overlooking. Survivors are just reskins of each other. So technically, it's just one survivor vs twenty six killers. Any nerf to a survivor perk affects them all. With killers, you have to take into account twenty six different power sets, and their add ons. So, an 'overall' look at nerfs on the killers part might seem 'small' in comparison.
No no that's exactly my point. Because survivors don't have individuality, everything that gets nerfed affects every survivor. On the killer side of the game, there haven't been many nerfs that affect the killer base as a whole, just individual tweaks to powers or add ons.
So when people complain about the "number" of killer nerfs, well duh because killers have powers as well as adds on that can be nerfed and they vary for each killer so it's gonna feel like it's more when it's really not overall
-
@Mringasa said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307286/unfun-killers-to-go-against
Because "unfun" Killers are ones who require something other than Hold W, or M1 Simulator. They force players to do something they aren't comfortable doing, and which leaves them less time to loop or slam gens.
I'm not a very good Killer, I sat in middle ranks on the old system for a reason, but I get a large amount of DCs when I play Pinhead or the Hag in comparison to when I play Huntress or Trapper. People don't want to adapt, claiming it's not fun for them, when in reality they just don't want to do something different. Then they'll come here and complain that all they face are Nurse and Blight.
Hag is usually boring because you're just playing a camping simulator, especially if you end up in basement.
The hag will spend the first 20-30 seconds of your hook time just literally placing traps everywhere. Then even with all their traps, they'll proxy camp and patrol. Then the 5% of hag players that actually leave the area have Make Your Choice so you either try to run out and get downed when they teleport or you crouch walk and they come back to tunnel and camp and you get downed anyway.
The Jumpstart are fun sometimes but the gameplay is a snooze fest once some unlucky bastard gets caught
-
People just like being dramatic. The same people who will say a wiggle perk is abuseable (even though it's useless on most maps) will then go and defend Dead Man Switch, pain resonance, as a legit strat even though it's twice as busted as boil over will ever be. 🙄
-
@Erd69 said:
Why do people complain about going against a pinhead or a nemesis? But d
- Nurse chases are actually fun and the thrill of dodging blinks and mindgaming a nurse actually makes it fun.
- Twins are annoying to play against because everyone has this mentality that you have to slug and that makes the chases boring and drags the game out.
- Pinhead chases, especially with that engineer fang? or whatever it's called that damages you instead of chaining you are boring.
- Nemesis chases are BS because he just has this stupid whip that has a range that's way too long, can hit over pallets, windows, and any low obstacle, and then you'll randomly have zombies block entire loops on indoor maps. Once you're infected, his chase is too oppressive and boring
- Same applies to trickster. His knives build up laceration so damn quickly and his chases just suck because there's so little you can do.
- Doc, I don't care. My only issue with him is how he ruins any stealth play (which there's already not enough of in the game)

Way to take what he said to the extreme lmao I think he means just body blocking after all gens are done not your ridiculous 2 gen example
How was that an extreme example. I thought I was being generous because I could've said 3-5 gens. But I'm also literally taking their example. From the title, it says "other survivors able to finish the gens" meaning the game isn't over and there are gens (plural) that still need to be done, but the killer has someone trapped in a corner and can choose to keep them there to be petty. I'm not making up an extreme, I'm taking the situation literally as it's presented.
I also meant this as a general "you" because the original post could be about someone doing this to him and seeing if they can report it so I'm not saying OP is a douche, but whoever would do something like this is
-
@killslash said:
Hello,
I found this post from @Peanits
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/36376/what-is-classed-as-bannable-body-blocking
"What you described is not bannable. It actually wouldn't work either since hitting them allows them to pass through you briefly.
Bodyblocking is bannable when it is used to hold the game hostage or grief, such as blocking a survivor in a corner and sitting there for a long period of time just so they can't play. Or sandbagging, where you intentionally jump in from of someone and block their path so the killer hits them."
This was made pre-Endgame Collapse. Back then the only reason to body block for any extended length of time was as Peanits said, JUST so they can't play and was griefing. Now, body blocking can be used to secure a kill due to Endgame Collapse, so it is no longer JUST so they can't play.
So my questions is if bodyblocking to EGC a kill still bannable (Especially if they are utilizing unhookable spots with anti-slug builds)? If so, what is long periods of time? When there are X gens? Only allowed during EGC? What is the threshold?
So you're saying there could be 2 gens left and you would potentially bodyblock a survivor and let their teammates do 2 gens and open doors because your ego is so small and you just HAVE to secure 1 kill even if it's by playing like a complete douche?
Is it bannable? Idk
Is it scummy as hell? Yes and you need to uninstall if you have to go to THAT length to secure 1 measly kill
-
@dugman said:
Actually I suspect the devs like having the skill checks fail when you leave a gen mid progress because it adds an element of risk to it. Do you stay on a gen when a killer gets close hoping to finish or risk letting go and maybe exploding it? Without that risk survivors could always just let go with no penalty which loses some of the tension.
I think this isn't the same thing OP is referring to. Most of the time when this happens to me, it's not about pressure or the killer but maybe I see a totem I want to break or a teammate runs up and needs healing and the "instant" I commit to letting go, the skill check sound (and following explosion) simultaneously go off with no chance for me to hit the skill check.
And some people may ask "well how often does that happen" and to that I will say literally almost every game (between 90-95% of my games)

I do. Many people do.
Are you saying she's the most fun to PLAY or to PLAY AGAINST? Because I can tell you you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who loads into a match, finds out the killer is a Spirit and goes "Well I'm glad this is about to happen"
-
Spirit?????
No one has fun against a Spirit? tf?
Huntress is by far more fun to play against, as is Bubba's (the few that don't face camp), and Demogorgons.
If I were making a list of fun killer to versus, Spirit would never even be considered
-
So your argument for her being S tier is that she counters a strong (but not OP) perk that was literally just added to the game pretty much and that every survivor doesn't even run..... yeah okay
