Deathslinger was S tier when he was released. Small teror radius combined with quick aim ability was really strong.

Your other aspect isn't valid either.

Tofu is a killer main and manages to win 90% of his games while reading chat 50% of the time. Can you do the same? Do you have the same skill level?

The argument that his survivor opponents make mistakes is valid for everyone. Most survivors in this game are bad and make many mistakes.

Only entitled kiler mains in this forum face 4 man sweaty SWF teams with BNPs and ranger medkits every game.

Hell no Deathslinger was not S tier, more like B tier. No mobility and slower avg survivor down time than huntress. He was nerfed because his power was 'unfun'.

Don't get your hopes up, I bought Deathgarden years ago for the DBD cosmetics, and when they cancelled it they ended up giving them away to everyone for free. Rolled.

My prediction is that boons are dead in the water until they introduce a boon totem that gives 5% gen repair speed to generators in their range.

I wouldn't run that, seems horrible

  • I am having the same problem. I re-bound my secondary power to left alt, when I'm holding it to pull up the radar, the button that says "Recall Drone" (Spacebar) does nothing.

I've never hated this game this much or been so miserable a single time in the three years I've played

Are the devs just wanting every killer player to quit? Not to mention I've never seen survivors this rude and toxic. It's at the point I just want to queue for survivor and throw every pallet and dc so at least SOME killer has a good time

This is a serious matter. Hag is basically powerless right now due to Reassurance preventing survivors from trading hooks early in the game, which is where Hag gets her pressure from, and the 10 sec BT, as it renders Hag useless for 10 seconds. Because the unhooked survivor has speed boost and endurance, they can trigger all of the traps in the area with no resistance from the killer.

When you combine that with off the record and COH, she's effectively useless in any lobby. Hag isn't a chase killer, and it's impossible to catch any survivor in a short period of time. The only advantage Hag has is she can be anywhere else as long as a survivor triggers her traps. But she can't pressure any survivors to do anything without triggering her traps first. She can't waste too much time chasing healthy survivors either.

I think this is it, as much as people don't care about it and prefer to blame it on salt.

Under the old Rank system sure, there were D/C's, but nowhere near what I'm seeing now (in my experience anyways) and I play Solo Q exclusively. It's been particularly exacerbated by Patch 6.1. Fact is, BHVR's matchmaking is absolutely awful for Solos. Almost every decent perk that made a huge difference for Solo Q players were entirely gutted to help Killer's deal with SWF's better. They deactivated end game perks for us that used to maybe allow us to get a clutch escape or clutch saves. Every change has discouraged altruism and team work in Solo Q meaning you can rely on your team mates even less than before, as more and more we're seeing selfish builds/playstyles. They made keys useless, nerfed the hatch- most Killers released have been high mobility, range or teleporting so if you're the last survivor, getting an Exit gate is basically impossible.

Solo Q is so miserable at the moment it's depressing, and I think disconnects are a symptom of a player base fed up. They WANT to play, they love DBD, been playing for years maybe; but it's demoralizing to load into a match, hear a squeal of a Nurse and a down in 6 seconds, see the next team mate hook grabbed immediately- and know not only is the game lost, but you won't even get any decent blood point compensation. So there you are wasting your time in a hopeless situation for 10 mins. Enjoy your 5k BPs. You can buy yourself a brown tool box, generator instructions, or maybe a green broken key on a Blood web where half the items are obsolete.

Majority of D/C's are when a survivor is being camped at 4-5 gens. It happens all the time and significantly increased after 6.1 . I'd say 80% of the disconnects I see happen when a hooked survivor is being camped, or else when that survivor is tunneled and downed immediately after they're unhooked. People are sick of it. I was being face camped by a Pinhead once, a survivor came to unhooked me, saw me being camped (at 4 gens) and he just d/c'ed right then and there. He was just out of there.

I've experience banks of matches where the Killer 4k's like, 10 matches in a row too. But according to BHVR, my MMR should be so low after that it will adjust accordingly, right? But it doesn't seem to and I just get paired with 2 survivors new to the game, a survivor who is competent and a Killer that has 3k hours. That's not a balanced, working MMR. Especially in a game where one inexperienced team mate can tank the game for the rest of us.

So I think the general attitude of Solo Q players is one of exasperation, hopelessness, and resignation. When you log in, you mentally prepare yourself for absolute BS. If you actually have a normal match where the Killer isn't overpowered (meaning mis-matched and much more experienced than the survivor team), and isn't camping/tunneling, and if all your team mates are competent, it's a pleasant surprise rather than the norm. If you actually escape? Like... shocking.

BHVR should be looking at the disconnect trend, and how it's increasing. They also have to look at WHY and do something productive. Just punishing Solos for it won't be effective. It will just be a bandaid fix and survivors will merely hook suicide.

This is THE best post I've seen addressing the state of Solo que survivor atm.

You should really start a new thread with this, it's a damn shame this is buried half-way down page two of this one.

  • @Sumnox said:

Honestly, just ditch Reassurance altogether and get kinship. It's just a better version of the same perk that achieves the same result but it has 16 meters instead of 6.

"But it can be used once per hook state"

This literally does not matter. Having to be in the survivor's face to use it, Kinship just has way more value.

Do not use Reassurance, bring Kinship instead. Reassurance is garbage tier.

They are both trash in Solo queue. If your teammates don't know you have them and play accordingly, they are both near worthless.

  • @vanGlasse1 said:

Kick the freaking gen. It regresses at a slooooow rate for a while. Leave it. Survivor interacts with it. Either:

1- misses skill check, get some value, go back there, harass the survivors to go away and apply it again. Restart the cycle. Do this at the last 3gens with solo survivors and you either stall the game till they win/give up or repeat over and over while slowly taking down the remaining survivors through the cycle.

2- sucessful skill check, good for you/them. Check the gen, no sparks? Well let me kick it again. Harass the survivors from touching it before the regression builds up or till they touch it either blowing up or getting the skill check, whichever it is, doesn't matter, just apply it yet again. Keep doing it for hell yeah why not?

No but really, this against squads and/or while the 4 survivors are alive (especially at early game) might not be the strongest slowdown available (hence Pain Res, DMS, Corrupt, even Deadlock), but still can be annoying. Now, once there are less gens and/or survivors remaining, this is just the most repetitive playstyle I can think of.

I don't mean to be telling people how they should play or what they should or shouldn't run, mind you, do whatever you like with what you have, but seriously, considering all the times we saw things being toned down or upgraded, it feels ridiculous to see how this perk has only good sides with decent if not great rewards (you know, often you may get 5% out of a gen just by kicking a gen as many times as you'd like + the regression that might build up) for the cheapest investment in the market. See Eruption, Jolt, even Pain Res, these 3 are decent on their own and the requirement is something that requires actual effort (downing after marking the gens, downing the survivor in the area of the gens that you'll regress, hooking on a specific hook), and I won't dare to call Ruin a lazy perk because not only it is a cleansable hex, but it also got demolished with nerfs which were most cruel imo.

Back to the topic, killers do deserve getting things that provide actual value and are reliable, but honestly there's a difference in "regress all the gens you kicked earlier by x% when you get the next down. You can do it again but have to take the steps" and "kick the gen, then kick the gen, then kick the gen, then kick the gen' you get the idea (I hope).

Found the guy who can't hit skillchecks.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

No, she is not. Trapper and Myers are weaker than her.

At least Sadako has some nice mind-games with her power and teleport helps a lot for pressure on gens.

Myers is stalking you for tier 3 and he is losing 3 gens already. And even with tier 3, smart survivors will not get give him multiple downs.

Trapper? I don't need to talk about this guy right? Even best add-ons does not makes him viable.

With addons Myers is no where near the bottom... But on most maps yea Trapper is down there.

No thanks. Can you imagine how many pub games this perk would singlehandedly lose?

  • @Man_of_triangles said:

Off the Record and Kindred are basically mandatory in solo queue so I don't really get to have "builds".

    Same, plus Circle of Healing.

I get to choose one whole perk!

  • Yes, it's good.

A very common use of traps is during a chase to cut off pallets/windows and force the survivor to leave the loop. If they don't leave after you trap with coffee grounds, sometimes you can zoom around fast enough to smack em.

My usual build on trapper is Agitation, Deadlock, Corrupt Intervention, and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance.

The most important one imo is Corrupt, if you don't have that you should prioritize prestiging The Plague.

I think Hyperfocus will be popular personally, with more experienced players anyway. I agree that it's a difficult perk to pull off. Anyone who does pull it off deserves its value imo. I actually like the new Better Than New lol if I buy the chapter it'll be for that

There are videos on youtube showing that with a toolbox and hyperfocus you can complete a solo gen in 45 seconds. No one deserves that value, that's broken af.

God there is no pleasing people.

Survivors have been crying about camping since day 1.

Now we have a perk that obliterates it and its according to this average survivor not good enough.

Yes average survivor is used as a slur here.

No one's crying about camping here, but the DBD community has generally accepted that camping at 5 gens is too rewarding for the effort required. The point is that the solution that the devs have come up with to combat this is sloppy and ineffectual. Do we really need to mandate that survivors run a perk to fix bad game design? That's not fun for anyone.

  • As it currently stands, no I will not. The perks aren't worth it, including reassurance (A bandaid perk fix to camping? No thnx. Also, if you can get within 6 meters, you can probably just save no? If it's not a facecamping bubba or smth)

  • 100% survivors should have basekit Kindred. SWFs have this already with coms, it would just bring solos up, and solos are struggling the most out of everyone right now.

Oh wait, neither have I, or anything even close. Like you, I've been having as much fun as ever playing surv (yes, solo) over the last week.

    Really?

I get hard camped/tunnelled 9/10 games as solo survivor... not even exaggerating

    Title.

Without his passive he is a bottom 3 Killer, and a Killer should NOT be carried nor relevant because of something that requires no effort on their behalf.

Huntress has to hit hatchets, Trapper has to plan where he places his traps, Leatherface has to be careful not to hit things with his Chainsaw, Blight has to learn map collisions, etc etc

Pinhead? His power just exists for free, and it is an extremely unfun one at that.

    Very poorly designed Killer.

I disagree with you sir. I love Pinhead <3

Dont get me wrong he is pretty unique and his ability but it is by far the most boring one too...

I dont care if he is good or bad that has nothing to do with it and i dont wanna go against any killer for 10 matches in a row but legion is well the one i'd want the least because the matches are really repetetive and not unique in any shape or form. Its literally Mend, Mend, Mend, Mend, Mend, Mend the whole damn match.

Why is his pickrate so damn high when he is so weak and basically no one enjoys going against him?...

I actually don't care about facing more Legions, and 'mending simulator' doesn't bother me, but my last game vs Legion lasted for OVER AN HOUR! This is ridiculous how long it's taking to do these gens. I don't ever want to do that again...

    Not even

I use 2 brown add ons most games and this strat still works just fine. The green add on just spreads condemned much faster and easier since you tend to slug quite a bit when playing this way.

I will say this, larger maps do make this strat a bit harder to pull off.

    I call BS.

There is no way you're getting more than 1 mori against decent survivors before they finish the gens without specific addons, primarily ring drawing.

  • They need to re-activate double BP incentives to get some of these troll killers onto survivor. Although they will prob just DC on Survivor side :/

  • I'm 99% sure the majority of the 5 gen camper/tunnelers are just the salty survivor mains queuing as killer. It was never this prevalent to tunnel out first hook, and the one's who are doing it are obviously not great in chases.

Same kind of person who is dcing on first hook I'd imagine, they don't actually want to try to figure out the patch, they just want to ruin everyone else's time because they don't like it.

  • @MrMori said:

Please just make her crouch/uncrouch 0.5 and her charge 0.5s.

Just do it and see how she feels, please. That's all she needs. Crouched walking speed and a slight boost to ambush movespeed, and a buff to the fadeout on her terror radius would all be welcome. But they're not important.

The insane 1.3s crouch/uncrouch and sluggish 0.75s charge time just feel awful and do nothing but make her feel clunky.

Nerf her slowdown addons if you have to, just please make her feel better to play.

Honestly all I want is her terror radius back to 24 meters again so I can use Whispers without Monitor and Abuse to be able to get ANY value out of her stealth...

How can Survivors enjoy slamming 5 gens in 5-7 minutes?

  • IMO she's actually overrated. Once you know how to counter her by constantly popping her traps and harassing her from the beginning of the game, she gets cucked pretty damn hard, and the more flashlights the survivors have the weaker her proxy camp is. She does have massive comeback potential with a basement hook against altruistic survivors though.

She can be a strong killer, but not consistent against the better survivor teams. I'd say she's S tier against unorganized lower-skill survivors, and B to C Tier against top level survivors.

I am convinced it’s just an ego thing at this point. They know if they back down now it’s openly admitting their players know more about the game than they do despite all the statistics they keep under lock and key. And it’s clear with what happened with the twitch shirts that the devs aren’t exactly humble.

    Absolutely, positively, 100% correct.

  • @Lat0 said:

    Nobody plays killer

And all the way down here in the thread is the first time the correct answer has been given. There is a severe imbalance of killer players to survivor players, with a shortage of killers. The matchmaking system works, but it takes into consideration both skill level AND how long a group of survivors has been waiting for an appropriate match. This manifests in 5 to 10 minute queues for high-ranked survivors, and fledgling killers such as yourself being matched with players way above your skill level who have been waiting for a long time.

  • Oni is much harder to master than Spirit, his demon dash has quite a learning curve. But they are both really fun and viable choices!

  • I thought you were gonna be balanced and say 'Slamming 5 gens in less than 5 minutes". You know, the survivor equivalent of try-harding.

  • Survivor: 5ish minutes

    Killer: 5-8 seconds

    N/A West, anytime really.

  • If they implement the DMS changes from the PTB, that's going to be a big deal...

  • HAHA, NGL I've been jamming lots of Plague games. I get an average of 2 DCs per match, usually the COH players :)

  • @AngyKiller said:

I canmp at times because I know, the second that Survivor is free, I'm going to hear Circle Of OPealing pop, and he's going to be healed in 0.000000000000000045 seconds.

And now I have to spend time finding the totem, because anyone I hit will be able to literally stop behind a pre-dropped pallet and, using a medkit, self-heal before I can spend the 2.6 seconds breaking the pallet.

So blame Circle of OPealing; Killers basically can't win if it's in play, so we have to secure the kill instead of letting Survivors get infinite turbo-heals with a totem they can infinitely replace. (Thanks BHVR, for giving Survivors better totem perks than Killers! Really shows your priority! 🤡 )

    Try Plague...

I get 2 DCs on average every game from salty survivors who can't use their boon totems.

  • @AngyKiller said:

Because changing code is not that easy?

Because they have to be sure the changes they make are actually ones they want to make?

Isn't this what are the balance devs are paid to do? Balance? Is a monthly passthrough too much to ask from them?

  • Ok, but how about on Doctor?

    It's gonna be nuts :)

  • @GMan79 said:

That doesn't work. It's not that it's unsharp (more the usual) it's simply not the right resolution.

I can't even move down the mouse to the bottom line of the monitor, it's like 3cm over it and game says "window", also game is in fullscreen, ends there. Same on the right side.

I have this exact problem right now. I normally run in 2560x1440, and now when I boot up it's in a lower resolution, and the mouse is off center. If I toggle off fullscreen, it fixes it, but the window is so tiny that I can't play in windowed mode. Any attempt to re-apply full screen messes up my resolution again. I can't even make it out of the main menu half the time because the cursor is like 3-4 inches off where it should be.

Why are you so fixated on this 'guarantee'? The fact is, the only people who seem to care at all about the nurse changes are the same 6 or 7 nicknames posting about nurse every single day, with everyone else either not caring or being happy about the changes. There, guarantee fulfilled. Happy? Even here in this thread it is all the same people. Where is the outrage for poor, little old nurse? Stop sitting in your echo chamber and read what most people said when the nurse changes came. Now, people are tired of seeing this same topic come up again and again. The devs are probably regretting creating such a monster with nurse in the first place, because of how fixated you people are on keeping her overpowered. (Are you going to say I'm speaking for the devs now? Haha)

Arrogant? Stating facts is now arrogance? Yikes. There is a difference between conveying truth based on what you have witnessed and 'speaking for a whole server'. You really need to stop jumping to incredibly incorrect conclusions...

That streamer never said he was going to go addonless. His goal was to win every match as nurse. In some games he used her strongest addons, in many games he didn't. His intent was to prove that no matter what, nurse would win. His kill percentage at the end of the experiment was something like 98 percent. Despite you lying and claiming he used overpowered addons every game, he didn't, yet he still managed to win handily every single match against red rank survivors (just because you couldn't do what he could do doesn't mean nurse was balanced). The big, bad red rank survivors who can end games in less than 5 minutes. That is why people are content with these nurse changes. Her basekit allowed such domination to be possible. In a multiplayer game, one side should not be able to win so easily. You claim you aren't having fun. I can't speak for the nurses you faced, but over here on this server, nurse players were absolutely dominant. Yes, I can safely say that the vast majority of players are happy with these changes here.

Also, the difference between his nurse and your SWF is he proved he could do that every game, no matter what. Your SWF, if you faced killers who actually used strong addons and played optimally, wouldn't have nearly as much success as you do now. You can't even deny that. And the only way your group would have a chance of beating him was if a map like Haddonfield or Yamaoka came up.

Do you know what a snowball is? The first generator I checked (in the corner of a map with no way to escape without going through me) in that nurse game had 2 people spawn beside each other. If you are aware what nurse is capable of (yes, even now), you would be aware of how fast you can still down 2 people if you time your blinks correctly. 2 people going down in such short time at the beginning of the match easily creates a snowball. Are you sure you've played nurse? I don't even play her and I can tell you this..

Don't even know what you are saying in the second to last paragraph.

Even with as often as you mention your SWF, it is clear you have a nurse main bias. You mention fun, as if expecting to elicit some sort of response from the commenters here. Fun? You mean the thing survivors had when playing against nurses in red ranks 25 percent of their games? A game where you have to wait a very short amount of time at the end of your missed double blink (aim better next time) on a whole is much more fun for everyone involved than the travesty of game balance that we were experiencing with old nurse.

Nurse is still really strong in the right hands. Instead of asking for nurse to be an easy win again, maybe try adapting to the new situation and finding fun that way. Or...don't, and go play spirit. That's what many of the other nurses who couldn't handle the thought of being defeated did.

If you speak with a nasty tone, expect nastiness in return. I've been civil, be thankful for that. Try not to get this thread closed like the last one.

They aren't the only ones who think that Nurse is terrible to play after the patch, they are just the most vocal. I think I have 2 or 3 posts ever, but there are lots of us...
