If the killer isn't near the hook, the perk pretty much becomes meaningless anyways, it wouldn't make any difference if the hook timer would be paused for 14 seconds or 34 seconds.

It will be abused, I think. We shall see.

  • @Horror_Gaming said:

Good give survivors some decent perks for a change. If killers don’t camp then the perk is useless ^

its for anti camping and I welcome it

This perk is way too good. Killer doesn't even need to be near for it activate

  • @Mushwin said:

Yeah but no reason to just false hope anyone, ins't that just toxic and we all know how this community things of toxic behaviour.

    Doesn't seem toxic to me.

  • Nothing wrong with that. Totally up to the Killer to decide if he wants to let him live.

it is obvious, we would have to be robots not to commit them. just as the killers used to say about it when it was old DS, survivors said "just bring Enduring lul",killers said it was a bad game design when you need a perk to counter something, now when the same situation is with Spirit they say it's okay that the whole team must waste half the slots in order to BE POSSIBLE TO COUNTER SOMETHING, you must remember my friend that the sword has two blades, and you must be in relation to someone that way you want this person to be for you, otherwise you spit on your own words and you don't respect yourself

Except DS rewarded Survivors who lost. So did MoM. Spirit takes a decent amount of practice.

  • I just wanna be able to grab people who use keys.

  • @Mert_MK said:

Just doing gens while someone's being facecamped doesn't always work. Especially if Ruin is still up and the killer has NOED. During that time its very unlikely you'll cleanse all totems and finish the gens. Depends when exactly the killer facecamps but still.

Also imagine the killer having Dying Light and hooking the obsession at 5 Gens with Ruin up and facecamping. Sure is fun.

Something should be done about this, it sucks how killers can take the ability from you to play the game. Especially really bad if it's a one shot killer.

Maybe a perk that allows you to unhook yourself with free BT if the killer is within a certain range of the hook for a certain amount of time. A bit extreme perhaps, i couldn't come up with something better right now that's balanced for both sides.

That is perhaps the worst idea I've ever heard. Low rank Killers will camp, because, low rank Survivors make it possible and viable.

Say someone just started the game and gets face camped while they are still trying to learn how to play. Chances are that they aren't going to want to play again. If we don't have survivors to kill, we no longer have a game. This is not just a way to reward "failure," as it rewards the person distracting the killer, allowing gen rushing, but it's a way to retain players, as well.

Oh well. If they quite after one game, that's on them. They were never serious about it anyway.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

@Peanits Does this seem plausible? Not a change to game as it is played, just adding a BP even related to how long someone is camped to give them a reason to stay.

A reward for failure is never good. Bump the total points for Struggling to 700.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664583#Comment_664583

Look,I may be exaggerating a bit, but it doesn't matter. The point still remains. Nowhere did I say that anything should be done to get rid of it. I don't care. Let a killer camp. I just want each match to be worth playing. I see so many people complaining about DC's being rampant, and being camped is the one reason I see the most as being a reason for people to DC. Why not just give them a reason to not DC? Even from a Killer's perspective. Quitter's Bonus goes straight to deviousness, not sacrifice. That doesn't make up for the DC. Just use your power, and you get deviousness. It's a waste for both parties. Why not just give the survivor an incentive to stay. It literally costs the killer nothing.

Exaggerating and lying are very different. People who DC should be banned. It doesn't matter what you do, they will still DC when you down them. Bump up the struggle points to 700 total. That is all.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

    *Laughs in rotating hooks*

Once upon a time face camping was actually a thing...

    Now it's just camping.

    Do gens.

Now, I wasn't around way back then but, wasn't "facecamping" when a Killer would stand in front of a hooked Survivor and since there was only one angle you could unhook from, prevent other Survivors from attempting the rescue?

  • It proves the truthfulness of the OP, which happens to be none, apparently.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664572#Comment_664572

Wow, way to target someone for no reason. No, some perks add BP after a match, similar to offerings, so your statement is false.

You would not get enough of a bonus from BBQ if you simply camped one person, either he wasn't camping, or, you are lying.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

For those of you mentioning depipping. No, that's not an incentive. I once mentioned that to someone before for camping. They still made over 50k without an offering. It's clearly meaningless to killers that are going to do it. Rank and pips aren't going to stop anyone when the number one way for anyone to gain anything from a match is bp. And I've been in matches where the killer camped and got a good 15k more than anyone else.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664556#Comment_664556

It's really difficult to get through the lower ranks when all they do is prevent you from even playing the game. Which is exactly what camping does.

And for everyone mentioning to gen rush. That literally does nothing for the person on the hook Which means that they might as well leave the match. Which cancels your gen rush.

You see what I mean? There's no incentive for the camped player to even stay. They might as well just DC and play a different match.

You have proved yourself a liar. The maximum BP in a match is 32K without any offerings. And evidently I am to believe that you are singled out and camped every game. Nice bait, kid.

  • @prayer_survivor said:

Yes, all the campers of the game because of the depips. And this is what make new survs to uninstall the game

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664533#Comment_664533

Do gens = people not on hook escape. Why would I not just DC or sacrifice myself to play a different match if I'm not going to get enough BP to progress the game. Less than 3k and a match isn't worth staying in.

Because Disconnecting from a match is against the rules.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664530#Comment_664530

The devs have already stated that it is ok to camp. Insidious actively promotes the action. I'm not saying to do things that get rid of it being used. I'm saying that it would be great if the devs added something so that the person being camped didn't feel like the match was a waste of time. Because if it's a waste of time, you might as well just play a different game.

As a killer main, I avoid tunneling, slugging, and camping, but only one of those has no effective way of countering. If you time it right, borrowed time is meaningless, as you can just catch the person doing the unhook action. Adrenaline does nothing if you're already on the hook. Kindred lets people know they should ignore you if you're being camped. Other people doing gens does nothing for you. You might as well just leave the game, screwing over the survivors trying to utilize the fact that killer is busy by making it so they aren't busy. And since survivors will already DC for any conceivable reason, you really shouldn't give them one up front.

It is clear you have never been to a high rank. Red rank, even purple rank, Killers know that camping will always get them a de pip. Just rank up and you won't have to deal with them anymore.

  • When you play at Rank 21, this is what you get.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

So really, what I'm proposing is that the devs add a blood point event for survivors being camped. It doesn't punish the killer for doing something that is incentivized, while giving the survivor an actual reason to not sacrifice themself or DC. Because atm, there is no reason for an early hooked survivor being camped to not just leave the game. And positive reinforcement always works better than negative reinforcement.

This way, the killer can still do what they want, the remaining survivors can do what they want, and the camped survivors have a reason to stay.

Except, you know, the fact that DC'ing is against the Terms and Conditions you agreed to.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/663465#Comment_663465

I mean I don't really know if you can apply the human nature to something like this. Like killers believing the hooked survivor is theirs? That seems weird and a little unhealthy for just playing a game. The point is, it's not good game design. It would be the best for the game to nerf camping. I mean, as long as another survivor is within that radius, the penalty should be removed anyways. So killers would just have to play smart when they want to defend a hook. It seems like a healthy change to me.

How about we nerf survivors gen speed whenever the killer's heartbeat can be heard. That is what you are proposing.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/658443#Comment_658443

There is virtually no way to prove that a killer is viable - just saying. People can always say "but those were bad survivors" to nullify footage.

    Anyways:

I agree that Leatherface needs: Small QoL buffs and (obviously) addon fixes/changes/buffs.

His only "specific" purple addon (AwardWinningChilli) is weaker than ANY brown addon of ANY killer in the game even though purple addons are supposed to be game-changing.

    Bubba's purple: AwardWinningChilli

(one of) Spirit's purple: Prayer Beads

Spirit's basekit has little to no counterplay and on top of that her purple addons are game changing. How is that fair towards Bubba?

Many people can do well with Bubba and 4k most of the time but that doesn't mean he and his addons are perfectly fine.

    Poor LF eats pallets.

That part of your Post is 100% correct. In my opinion, once one player DCs, nobody in the Trial should Depip, everyone should at least get the Blackpip. But the part about being fair is nonsense, Bullshit on one side does not justify Bullshit on the other side (or in your words: makes it fair).

Well, it is kinda fair when you look at it that way. BS does indeed equal BS. However, I totally agree with your suggestion, except that SWF would abuse this, a lot.

  • @grtf47 said:

@Pulsar You want me to 1 v 4 you with a swf or something?

No. You admitted you haven't played killer in a while. Against optimal Survivors, Wraith will be at a serious disadvantage. So will LeatherFace. Because their powers' aren't good. At all.

    Not every time.

Yesterday a Killer DCed in my game after all Gens were done. I got 0 BP, a Blackpip (would have been a Pip, because strangely I only got Silver Unbroken, it should have been Iridescent Unbroken, since I never went down) and my Offering was gone. Its bad enough that you can depip when the Killer quits during the Match and you did not do enough for a Blackpip at this point. But getting exactly nothing out of it is not cool at all.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/658436#Comment_658436

This is a Contender for my personal "Bullshit post of the year".

If a Survivor DC's on their first down, you will probably get Iri GateKeeper. Maybe Gold Malicious. Doubtful you'll get any Devout or Chaser score.

  • @grtf47 said:

@Pulsar I main wraith when I play killer and mostly double pip my way to red ranks easily so yes, very viable. Leatherface is fine too, no the easiest to play but just where he needs to be.

Uh huh. Prove it. Show me how they are viable.

  • @TheCankleBreaker said:

This is so bad. I hate it when I successfully beat a killer down so hard he quits when no gens are left I don’t get anything

Well, if a Survivor DC's near the beginning of a match, the Killer usually de-pips, so at least it's fair.

  • @grtf47 said:

I don't think any killers need a buff. Billy needs a small nerf. Maybe a chainsaw cool down extension.

Really? You think Wraith and Leatherface are viable?

DCing isn't against the rules. Over excessive amounts of DCing is.

They don't care why someone DCs, only how often they do it.

To that end, I just had this match:

Yeah I think you might be entitled to a refund if you have low hours and this is your first time, I understand your frustration, most of these killer mains act like they never dc'd because they got outplayed but hide behind "cAmPiNG iZ LuHGeit"

Man actually triggered the DC system, which also works for killers, do you realize the sheer number of times he would have had to quit?

  • Good luck with that. Evidently, you weren't even playing the game.

    Toxicity is from both side.

Bad survivors influencer teach how to t bag and trash talk, killers influencers teach how to tunnel and be sweaty for a 4k...

For people that find that kind of behaviour and content relevant, they become something else and forget that a game is initially made to enjoy and have fun, but just tend to do like their" idols"..

I would disagree on tunneling. It sucks, but it isn't toxic. Gen rushing isn't toxic, it's efficient. So is tunneling.

  • @remember_me88 said:

Honestly, I feel they can bring the directional phasing sound back.

They still can't hear it in the terror radius.

And I got really good with her BEFORE it was removed, I really felt she never needed a buff. This is an honest to god truth, but noone agrees with me. I played her soooo much upon release and learned how to use her power quickly, the buff made her feel like an unstoppable beast to me.

Sorry, about the Burn, maybe something to do with her Husk? Or if you can manage to burn her invisible body, that might be interesting 🤔

You can actually blind her if she tries that mindgame where she stands still and pretends to phase. It's happened to me before :/

PS4 will have approx double player pool of xbox. The console has sold roughly double the ammount of the xbox so is a good guideline. PS4 also had the base game for free several months ago if you had their version of xbox gold where as you need the xbox pass to play the base game free on xbox.

Eh. I know the Xbox community is quite large. I bet they are roughly the same size, it's a niche community. That being said, Game Pass is one hell of a deal, so many people have probably discovered the game through that.

Yes, because filling the community forum with people demanding to be unbanned sounds healthy.

Almost all forums have the "no ban discussion" rule in place, their is an appeals form to fill in if you would like clarification as to your ban etc.

Yew, well, that's the thing. They were talking about how the person got banned for stream sniping, a non-bannable offense.

  • Not sure. Mighta gotten taken down for discussing bans?

PC has a fair amount of players. Check the Steam charts for information. No clue on PS4 or Xbox. I play on Xbox personally, I would guess around 5000 people, at a minimum.

Simple question for those who think 3ks and 4ks should be common for killers.

If a survivor player has a 0%-25% chance of his character living, do you think many people will play survivor? Seriously. Are you brain dead? Have fun with your 30 minute ques. This game literally requires 4x as many survivor players as killer players.

Should Killers auto de pip? It should be balanced around piping, not kills. Also, can you try to be civil.

  • @aazimuth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/654862#Comment_654862

This argument is literally the worst argument you could ever come up with. So basically you want one side to be completely overpowered while the other is focused on stealth play and walking in a straight line. Even mentioning how killer should be the power role and basically 4k every game is just idiotic.

Then don't play an asymmetrical game. One role has numbers, which gives them an early advantage. One, has power, which let's them snowball later in the game. That's is the most simple and basic definition.

  • I don't believe that's true. @GrootDude and I, though we may disagree, respectfully argue with eachother. We have mutual respect, I respect his views and he mine, though we try to make the other see our side. That is a civil discussion. Namecalling, bitter arguing and the cussing out of others is not.

this place just baffles me, that's all. from the same issues being discussed in various threads, to the posters on here who have thousands of responses. Just a little counting shows that some people would have to be posting once every few minutes for more than 16 hours a day, or many times a minute. who could be on here that much?

Not sure. If they want to help out and answer, more power to them!

  • I have also played a substantial amount at rank 1. Not sure what region you are in or platform. However, on NA Xbox, GhostFace is NOT viable at red ranks. He gets genrushed because it is hard to build up map pressure with a buggy power.

While I love my main man Mikey, he suffers from a similar problem; he cannot move very fast and is looped into oblivion. Freddy is, sadly, better than Michael now.

Plague is just...not that great. If she were released when healing was viable, top tier, instantly. But she wasn't. Survivors already don't heal. There are plenty of loops a competent player can run to stall the game out enough to escape.

Huntress is good but VERY map reliant. High walls on loops really hurt her.

Everything else looks fine to me. RIP Legion.

  • @derperson said:

I actually forgot to list Freddy, she is definitely the most hurt but I think she is still viable.

Depends on how good the player is, I suppose if you can hit all of your hatchets and end chases before they get to loops it isn't a problem. It's very difficult to do that, but, I guess it is possible.

  • Red stain says she was looking right at you.

EDIT: Looks like someone beat me to it :/

  • GhostFace, I think, needs his detection FIXED. On top of that, make the cooldown less on his power. That is all, other than that, he is fine.

Most killers are map reliant to an extent, for instance, as LF you’re going to have a much harder time on Lery’s, Billy can’t chainsaw patrol as easily on The Game or Lery’s, Stealth killers need maps with LOS blockers, Nurse is going to have a harder time on Lery’s and the Corn maps to an extent, most M1 killers struggle on Haddonfield and The Game.

I’d say Trapper, Hag and Spirit are the only non-map reliant killers.

I'd argue Freddy as well, he can always place down snares and pallets. However, other than Killers on Haddonfield in general, Huntress suffers the most from map design. Higher loops absolutely cripple her.

  • Huntress could do with some QoL changes and Hag coulf use her base range extended. I still think Freddy should have his teleport at the start of the match but oh well. Also, Huntress is VERY map reliant.

1 … 406 407 408 409 410 … 423
