Welcome, best tip I can give is to remember that this is a game. You play to have fun, remember that.
Also, people who seem angry or crazy here are just passionate. They love the game.
That being said, welcome :)

There’s so many killer mains on this thread that have never played a minute of survivor 😂😂 all of the above for me cause I’ve seen Nurse swing from California and hit me in Texas.
Freddy can start his swing from Africa and reach you in the United States
Unless there’s a car in the way, Huntress can throw her hatchets in any general direction and it’ll hit you
All of these are extremely incorrect, that leads me to believe you play on a bad connection.

So... the problem is gen speed then?
If you don't agree, what would you propose instead? Second objectives...?
No, the problem is NOT gen speed. If you increase it, you turn a boring task into a longer boring task. There needs to be an incentive for Survivors to stay in the trial longer.
The answer is not to increase gen times. That's like saying to prevent tunneling we should add another hook state.

TBH, Survivors just need nerfs to genrushing and looping and then Spirit can be nerfed.
-Gen times increased from 80 seconds to 90 seconds-Gen time reduction has been nerfed. Two Survivors on a gen will complete a gen in 60 seconds (from 40 seconds)As long as Survivors can do their objectives as quickly as they can now, Spirit and Nurse must remain to counter their bull and stand a chance against elite Survivor teams. Something Survivor mains don't want to acknowledge.
The problem isn't gen speed. The problem is that rushing gens is the MOST efficient way to win.

@S_Panda Ugh. There goes my fun of grabbing people off gens in the beginning of matches.
So how does undetectable work for him? Only while he is stalking?
Just during Tier 1.
-
Yes, it is confusing to newer players and it is a fairly simple change.
-
The devs have said to not report people for DC'ing, as their system already flags it. Dedicated Servers are currently slated for Fall 2019, if I remember correctly.
-
How about this, if you pip, you keep one of your add-ons, if you double pip, you get to keep all of them. Black pip and de-pip can stay the same.
-
You CAN use other Killers to have chill games, but, normally you need very good add-ons.
The easiest thing to do is to get rid of one Survivor as fast as possible, in my opinion. It isn't fun for them, but everyone else gets a chill game.
-
@Mochan said:
It's biased, but when you consider that this is a game where five people play instead of just using your point of view as killer, you can see the problem.
As the killer you play every game from start to finish. You never miss the game. You always get to play.
But now imagine you're a tunneling killer.
You find a Survivor. Tunnel him. And he dies in a minute. You move on to the next survivor. From your point of view as the killer its nothing out of the ordinary. You're still playing. You have 3/4ths of the match to go.
But for the survivor you tunneled, it's different. From his point of view, he used an item, put on an offering, queued up for a minute to play. Only to die and be denied the chance to play altogether because the killer felt like tunneling and eliminating him immediately.
And make no mistake, that happens a lot. Because killers have the power to do it.
So is this really a good way to play?
Of course not. It's bad game design that the game allows it, but ultimately it's bad for the game.
It's why DS and BT are so prevalent, because these are literally the only tools survivors have to counter this travesty.
I would argue that rushing through gens and tunneling are symptoms of the same problem, that being that there is no reason to make a match last longer. For Survivors, the longer the game goes on, the weaker they become, so it makes perfect sense to try to rush through gens and get out ASAP. For Killers, the game is massively against you when you first start, so it makes sense to try to tip the odds in your favor by getting rid of one person quickly.
I am not sure how to fix it but I do agree that it is unhealthy for the game.

Well on console the graphic settings are set on high or even ultra by default as far as I know but I'm not entirely sure on that.
I'd say they are medium. PC still looks way better.
-
If they target you, they will be banned. Most Killers will NOT lobby dodge for a single Survivor. They will dodge SWF teams, however.

Glass shards are glowing? Are you only able to see that on Ultra settings? Cuz on low I can't see anything, just tried it against a spirit I versed a few ago.
I actually do it on console. The shards shimmer or glow.
-
I would argue that the Game also has exit gates like Lery's.

I don't understand how Killah Main Spirits don't get this...
SPIRIT COUNTER-PLAY 101:
Hide a coin in one of your hands, put your hands behind your back, and asking someone to choose which hand has the coin. They picked left when they should have picked right -or- they picked right when they should have picked left.
🅿️eriodT!
Incorrect. Her glass shards glow when she is phasing and her animation resets. Not only that, but it takes time for the power to recharge. Without it, she is a Huntress without hatchets. She is soooo slow. Don't mindgame yourself, if you vault a window, commit to it.

Wrong, just wanna know if they have somethings in their mind, before a new Legion incident pops.
You can easily outrun a non phasing Spirit. When she starts to phase, her glass shards glow and her animation resets.

Sir, you're implying the hooked one will struggle, if he just lets go your strat is done for. Also, coordinating three people on different gens is already difficult for SWF, add RUIN...
My point is not to say you shouldn't do it, my point is to let people know it depends on the situation and context of the game, it's not as simple as "just do the gens"
Also... In what you wrote you gave the killer a 2k
2K with two escapes, and zero gens is a de-pip. That's two hook events. If the player who is being camped let's go, it is no longer the Killer's fault. Ruin will slow you down, however, you have a 40 second grace period. You WILL get those gens done.
-
If every Survivor does one gen while the Killer camps, you WILL get 3 gens done. If he does it again, you get out.
-
I don't care, just make him fun to play and make him a threat.
-
Awful idea. Don't split the playerbase.
-
Even with 4 or 5 gens left, a 3K can de pip a Killer, blame the pip'ing system if anything for that one, I agree with everything else.
-
Pip'ing.

To call tru3 mediocre, you must have played as much as he did right? I am really anxious to see your profile. Also, trapper is getting memed? You never faced a decent trapper by the looks of it. And ghostface doesnt need the survivors to make mistakes, and he isnt like wraith. He is an undetectable killer, but unlike wraith he can just hit you. And the marked power is very bad, you need a very specific situation to expose a survivor, and once you do he will just loop you. The Hit and Run way of playing ghostface is the best one, and trapper is a skill dependant killer, that is why people think he is weak
No, I have around 5 devotion levels. Not sure how many hours, am on console. There are some really good Trappers that will destroy me if I play solo, but, when I'm with SWF, they get meme'd on. And GhostFace is an M1 Killer without his power, after you get the first hit, you are JUST LIKE WRAITH.
-
@WickedKatz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/761829#Comment_761829
No, they cant. Ghostface is pretty strong, watch tru3s recent videos. And most of the time, the trapper will just end the powerful loops, so even if you know where the traps are you cant do anything. Also, disarming takes time, and you can reset the traps as trapper
Tru3 is mediocre at best. He doesn't use GF's power to stalk, he uses it to get a free hit, like Wraith. When GF uses his power as it is intended, he is extremely weak. When he doesn't, he gets a free hit like Wraith, but relies on Survivors to make mistakes.
Trapper will ALWAYS get his traps meme'd on by a decent SWF. Solo? Yeah, I could see the argument where he could be good. They cannot tell each other where the traps are. Unfortunately, there are very few solo's, on Xbox at the least, in red ranks.

Trapper and ghostface are actually pretty strong
Very incorrect. Both Trapper and GhostFace can have their power's rendered useless by Survivors with half a brain.

I said, make them unsafe.

I can understand the map design in a way but how could the maps be redesigned to be more balanced? And as for perks, there are some that help extend the chase but the killer also has perks that can shorten the chase.
Making loops more unsafe. Getting rid of Haddonfield. And yes, there are perks that shorten chases, Spirit Fury and Enduring come to mind, but there are always more pallets and a good Survivor can loop regardless.
-
@TheClamMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/759558#Comment_759558
But how? What do survivors have that makes the game lean to favor them more than the killer? I haven't experienced anything in my 2 years of playing this game that made me think that with the exception of the original MoM.
Most map design favors Survivor's. Various perks that help extend chases. Time itself. The Killer needs to have 12 hook events to kill everyone. There are four Survivors and one Killer, so numbers too.

Possible, I admittedly don't consider consoles in my posts because I only play on PC, and the OP seems to be a PC player too so console based advice wouldn't be helpful. But I see your point, I can imagine 360ing working pretty well when the killer can't flick the mouse.
And when Killer FPS is atrocious. Survivor FPS hovers around 45 on console. Killers chill around 25. That's on an normal map like Autohaven. On something like Ormond or the Red Forest, that Killer FPS drops to like, 15.
-
A ton of the top console Killers play with M&K. I know one Nurse in particular, who I affectionately call "Red Dress Nurse", absolutely destroys me and my friends whenever we play against her. No add-ons, her flicks are unreal.
-
@Lucama said:
360s are useless against competent killers, you might catch a baby killer out with it.
VS billy never give him a straight line, use corners of things like loops and jungle gyms, also his chainsaw always comes from from the right, so you have more time to dodge if you sharp turn left.
VS LF as someone else said, windows. Without range addons he won't catch you across a window unless you hug it, and if he's running range addons then his charge up will be too slow to catch you vaulting.
Also, don't ever get greedy at loops vs chainsaw killers. Always drop the pallet, it's better for them to get the pallet break than you getting knocked down.
On console, 360's are very good. Hard to deal with considering the low sensitivity and the damn aim assist.

She still makes me motion sick, so no.

Perks spark controversy all the time, that's why perks that are deserving of change are changed. Perks like Mettle of Mann and Decisive were unfun to play against and were thus changed (thankfully so) however, one of the most controversial killer perks (Noed) has only been buffed since it's creation. It's important to note that the only issue I have with this perk is that it rewards failure. I play both killer and survivor and find that it teaches bad habits to newer killers, brings bad killers to higher ranks, and causes frustration. The goal of this post is to change Noed into a more balanced but competitively viable in the perk meta.
Here's what I find to be a good change for Noed. First, keep it as a dull totem that turns into a hex totem, however, make it turn into a hex totem after the 2nd or 3rd gen is completed, but keep it active for the duration of the match. It no longer increases movement speed and grants one shots down, instead, it's designed to slow down the gens for the duration of the match (at least when it's still active). Now, every time a generator is completed the next generator will repair 8/9/10% slower, up to a maximum of 32/36/40% slower gens when 4 are completed and the totem is still active. Lastly, any gen not being worked on or repaired currently, will lose 1% of progression passively for every 1 second it isn't worked on (if it is damaged by a killer, it has normal gen regression + natural perk regression). All in all, the perk is designed to drastically slow down the game for every gen completed.
Summary: Noed becomes a hex after 3rd gen completion, but is active all match. Every gen completed slows every other gen down by 8/9/10% up to a maximum of 32/36/40% and gens not being worked on regresses 1% for every second it's not being worked on.
I want to hear anyone's thoughts and opinions, and any other possible changes they might have!
NOED rewards the Killer for the Survivors failing to cleanse totems. Hate NOED? Do totems.

Well you said they both leave a bad taste in your mouth because of psychological manipulation. I disagree the the rift does that as it is simply a new system that allows players to earn more cosmetics for a much cheaper price than what we currently have with the store.
If things are that overpriced in the store, why do we buy them? If they are good cosmetics, BHVR could make WAY more money by putting them in the store than by putting them in the Rift. Either the BattlePass doesn't have good cosmetics or the outfits in the store are INSANELY overpriced.

Are we seriously equating the rift with loot boxes now? The rift is pretty consumer friendly imo, especially to dedicated players. You can grind the whole pass before you buy anything, and then towards the end decide if you want to purchase it or not with a guarantee of what the rewards will be.
I did say battlepasses AND lootboxes. I know BHVR needs money, but the game is doing quite well and I imagine the store is doing well.

@Pulsar I never accused you of having taste.
I'm just kidding! I've actually never played Battlefront 2. No reason involving the fiasco around it, Disney just managed to destroy 30+ years of Star Wars fandom within me in record time.
Although I stopped playing months ago, I enjoyed Apex Legends. And EA's stink is all over that business model.
Honestly, hell of a fun game. Oh yeah, trust me, I'm no of Disney and their destruction of the beloved mess that was the EU.

@Kilmeran said:
@Pulsar Well, I do mean a little offense to BHVR. Battlepasses are a norm in F2P games like Paladins, Fortnite, Realm Royale, et cetera.
But in a game that already has an MSRP buy-in cost, plus quarterly DLCs, plus a robust cosmetics shop where the average price is $10 per skin, then dropping a Battlepass into the game stinks to high-heaven of a wanna-be EA business model.
Meh. I love Battlefront 2 and we all know how that started out.
-
Obviously, no offense to BHVR, but I just cannot stand them.

Not on Xbox.

I think Nurse wasn't even on the list with the top 3 killers with the highest killrate on pc.
That shouldn't be the only thing we take into consideration. If we based it solely off of kill rates, Trapper is going to get nerfed.
