When you cannot loop, or gain any distance so the Killer is OP. Couldn't possibly be that you aren't that great.

Surviviors will run it every time they can. Given that there are four survs, there is bound to be one that runs it.
Then the only thing killers can do is counter it with an ebony, which they will have to bring almost every match since once again, op offering with four people.
Now we live in a world where almost every high rank killer burns an ebony before every match.
Countering something in this manner will only increase how often you see it.
Again, it will not stack.

It was not necessary to bring a mori. 3 hooks = 25% action speed penalty
New Dying Light: 8 hooks = 24% action speed penalty
I don't see how the new DL is in any way better for the killer.
If that Survivor knew how to loop, the slowdown wouldn't matter. They'd have all the gens done. The new DL let's people spread it out a bit more, it doesn't force you to go after a single person. Plus, people don't DC when they see that you have it.

You're reaching. You can believe what you want, but it isn't my problem if you can't read.
Also your idea isn't good. You're suggesting more worthless perks.
Just like it isn't my problem that you cannot defend your argument, hence why you ignored my point.

but if all 4 use it, then only one gen needs to be done. and considering survivor spawning, they'll finish that gen before the killer even gets to them. i'd say maybe instead of taking a gen away, it just reduces time needed to repair gens. still powerful but not absolutely ridiculous.
Obviously, it wouldn't stack.

Survivors already get punished for doing gens as fast as possible. You don't get as many bloodpoints because you don't get points in other categories.
Escaping, and doing gens, usually gives you a pip. But yes, they are punished for that in the BP department. However, so are Killers. Tunneling will kill your Hunter score.

#########? Who cares about the lore of dbd? Majority just wants to win, and winning means beating your opponent.
Winning is getting a pip. If you want to play like a dick, go for it.

The new Dying Light is far better for the survivors than the old one. Which is a problem, since it is a killer perk.
The old DL was a little unfair. You really had to bring a mori to get the full effect. The new one is way better. I think it does still have some problems, mostly the obsession not being affected AND getting a boost.

if you make sure the hooked can not get rescued, it is camping. if for example billy does a mad dash from hook, pretending to go after someone, then does a mad dash back to hook, hovering around the hook, that is camping. who ever goes after the rescued they are a tunneler.
Ummm, no. If I see someone near the hook, I'm not leaving, that'd be idiotic. I'm not letting them get a free save. If the person who got unhooked runs into me, is that tunneling?
-
@fluffymareep said:

A killer who needs to tunnel and kick down the weak isn't good. You're picking off the easy targets. There should be some sort of downside towards targeting someone who was just on the hook and if you happen to down two people, you're disabling one person's DS even when the hooks are right next to each other. If they're disabled if they touch a gen, do a totem, get a save, it would mean they would have enough to regroup. To look around, etc. And that's on top of the 60 second wait time.
If there's some sort of counter to someone cheesing the perk from the survivor's side, it needs to do its intended purpose better, though. That would mean pausing the timer if slugged.
So, by your logic, if I go for the weak player on the team that cannot loop, I should be punished?

Blood points are a good idea, reducing the amount of gens required to open the gates isn't.
It's a pink offering. It needs to be extremely strong. This functions the same as mori's do. It makes the overall objective easier while crippling point gain and emblem progress.

i don't know why you asking me this? if you must know i try to do a bit of everything! also i do know what gen rush means😄
thanks for asking! ☺️
Should we punish Survivors for being very efficient and getting gens done as fast as possible?
-
@fluffymareep said:
I think it would be better if DS stopped once you touched something or did something (save, did gens, did a totem) since that would mean you got enough time to get away and possibly regroup or get healed. It doesn't matter if a killer is 'efficient'. If he comes back to tunnel a person unhooked, there should be some sort of punishment for it, even if in perk form. And if they decide to slug, that shouldn't be a counter. You shouldn't be able to wait out the timer. You can still use the slug as pressure 'cause someone still needs to come over to heal them.
So, the Killer gets punished for being good? Seems fair.
-
First one should be you get a 200% BP boost for your team, but not the killer. Second one could be to reduce the number of gens needed to power the gates.

all most everybody uses bbq+chili. just because you can't see them doesn't mean they are all close by. to hide from bbq+chili you can hide behind hooks and gens, not just lockers. after those 4 seconds survivors move from hiding place, you'll more than likely bump into them if you give it a go. or if you think they are close by within 40m then go look for them, don't hover at the hook. if you don't like pips, is it because you like annoying people and ruining there fun?
Yeah, doubtful. If no one shows up on BBQ, there is a VERY high chance that at least one of them is near.

I don't agree. Eblems are meaningless. The big picture is killing and surviving.
You're objective is to please the entity. That's what pips are. Emblems=Entity more pleased.

It's not a secondary objective. In order to be a secondary objective it has to be done in order to open gens and escape, which is not the case. Stop with these false informations
Anything that gives you emblem progress is an objective.

"Tunnelling" is when the killer chooses to go for the person they hooked immediately after they are unhooked.
Then your example isn't tunneling. His priority was clearly the unhooker. If the unhooker made a stupid play by unhooking someone without Borrowed right in front of the Killer, that is ENTIRELY on them.

Well that doeant exactly answer what i was asking. Obviously its a game. Im wondering moreso why flip flop. They make a perk to tunnel. They say its a game, it's allowed. But then they change it because its ruining the game, but it's allowed still.
Im asking, what is it.
I already emphasized most people think its "not fun", thats not the point. The point is they say its allowed, but then remove it implying its a bad thing.
Think of it like gen rush. Tunneling is technically the most efficient way to play, just like rushing through gens is the most efficient for Survivors. Problem is, neither of those are fun, as I'm sure you've been hit by gen rush before.
-
Because this is a game. It is meant to be fun. Camping and tunneling do have their time and place. However, it is NOT a fun way to play. Also, the new Dying Light is arguably FAR better than the old version.

What if someone doesn’t care about points? And as you said, it’s a SECONDARY objective. You should worry about the primary objective.
Then I suppose you will be punished for not doing your job.
You have an extremely easy way to counter NOED, if you do not want to do it, that is ENTIRELY on you.
-
You need to cleanse totems. They are worth 1000 points and are considered the secondary Survivor objective.
-
@Irvin said:
If a killer is downing a survivor within 60 seconds of them being unhooked I am sorry but that is tunnelling. Your method could easily be abused by downing the unhooked survivor and then hook the person who unhooked them.
"Downing the unhooked Survivor, then hooking the person who unhooked them."
That isn't tunneling. You seem to have zero idea of what you are talking about. Define tunneling for me, please?

I highly doubt this. EVERYTHING I have seen indicates that if you are having trouble with the dedicated servers the issue is in your setup. Be it internal or external networking or substandard gaming hardware. That or they live in a region way outside of the server areas, and in that case things should revert back to the old method.

People with bad internet connections trying to play as the killer are people not properly playing the game, the dedicated servers give them a taste of their own medicine for once instead of giving them insanely easy wins. And anyone complaining about the dedicated servers has probably been boarder line cheating for a long ng time now.
This statement is false. My cousin also plays, he has AMAZING internet. Absolute garbage connection to the servers.

Counterplay refers to using mechanics to counter something.
Therefore Spirit has no counterplay as no in-game mechanic can stop her "per se" no matter when and how you use said mechanics.
Example for counterplay: Hillbilly wants to chainsaw you. You hop over a close-by window in time. You just countered the chainsaw by using an in-game mechanic correctly. It will ALWAYS work if you vault (in time). That's counterplay.
Against Spirit all you can do is "guess correctly" and hope the Spirit player is bad and plays without a headphones.
Jungle gyms are great places to run towards when Spirit is phasing. If she is already phasing and you hop over a window, you just won that chase.

So, I was thinking about Dead by Daylight and the EGC. Then it hit me, we never see daytime maps at all because every map takes place during the night.
Therefore, as a thought, what if the EGC slowly transitioned the time of day for every map?
Like, as the timer gets closer to expiring, you can tell the sun is rising but you won't actually see the sun rising (You will be Dead by Daylight).
What do y'all think? :)
Honestly, that sounds cool as hell. I'd be totally for that!

@UlvenDagoth said:
60 seconds of immunity that you can just jump in front of a Killer or in a locker or something isn't anti-tunneling. It's like people using BT to body block (which I have seen). Abusing a Perk cause you can. Why should I have to count a full minute for every survivor for a meta perk that likely they will all use? I think it should deactivate when someone else is hooked. There, you haven't been tunneled then.
I agree, I tried to make this as fair as possible. I gave both what I would want as a Survivor, i.e. a chance. And what I would want as a Killer, which is to not be hit by it when I'm not tunneling.
-
@THEFREAK420 said:
I get your point fine. You said its an anti-tunneling perk that should reset when someone else gets hooked. That ridiculous. Giving someone 6 DS in 1 match? Youre out of your mind. There no such thing as tunneling. Its an imaginary rule of the survivors who dont like being chased, and can't handle losing.
I think you might be, honestly. I designed this to be good for both Killers and Survivors. If you cannot handle that, get better at Killer. Seriously, one Killer main to another. Get better if you cannot win without tunneling. I have no problem with it, but it isn't fun.

@Phox said:
Ive been seeing this suggestion a lot. I understand that if you’re just playing really well getting hit with DS is annoying. And it is ANNOYING. But let’s be real.. if your playing so well you’ve hooked someone between an unhook and re-downed last person rescued and STILL get hit with it, I’d say that you have enough pressure that 5 seconds shouldn’t be too much of a loss.
Like, look how much you got done in less than 60.. eat the stun and down them again or if you know you were too quick, slug them for a bit. The cases where that stun will cost you the game are extremely rare.
On a side note, forcing someone to get stunned by jumping into a locker IS kinda bs. Especially since people like to combine it with head on.
Except, if that's at the beginning of the game, two people just got away. That KILLS any pressure you had.

Tunneling? Otherwise known as counting or paying attention. If someones been hooked twice and theyre dumb enough to come near me they are gone, I do not care. I dont follow made up rules that survivors try to invent that only benefit them. The 4% rule is a joke, I really like hitting them as soon as their feet hit the ground. camping? Go do gens. Tunneling? Get better at evading. But Ds is good, its about the only thing that can help them escape at the end since they nerfed MoM to dust. DS doesnt need any buffs or nerfs.
Again, I do not think there is anything WRONG with tunneling. However, it is not a very fun way to play. You totally missed the point.
-
@ASAPTurtle said:
@Pulsar I didn't mean to include people that down the hooked survivor then chase the unhooker. I'm talking about the people that would legit stand behind the unhooked, wait till they finish the animation, and just hit and hook them.
That is the unhooker's fault for playing VERY agressively and not unhooking with Borrowed. In this situation, if he downs the unhooked guy, he would get hit by DS. If he hooks the unhooker, no DS but the unhooked player got away.
-
@ASAPTurtle said:
D'S is a fair perk but yet people seem to not understand that it's meant to counter or at least avoid being tunneled. People wouldn't feel as if they have to run it if camping and tunneling didn't happen so often!
It has nothing to do with camping. At red ranks, if you are an efficient Killer, you can down someone going for the rescue and down the rescuee as well. Then you get hit by DS. That isn't tunneling. I don't see why you would resist this change unless you don't care about it being anti-tunneling.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
ds would take the throne for being more situational then unbreakable lmao
What do you mean?
-
IF the Killer camps, do gens. If he tunnels, do gens. Tunneling is a great strategy, very similar to rushing through gens. You cannot punish players for doing their objective.
As for camping, there is a time and a place. It seems like YOU messaged HIM after the game. DS can hit people that don't tunnel. It has nothing to do with camping.
-
