Legion is a bit of a difficult Killer to balance. He is sort of like the Killer version of MoM, if you buff him he is absolutely miserable to play against. If you nerf him, he is unfun to play as and against but at least he isn't super strong and an EZ 4K.
I'd just like to see some QoL changes at this point.
-
Found a dude named ILoveDaveGrohl and we had a nice chat about how we both love Dave Grohl.
-
Well, I've been suggesting changes to Legion for a long time so here are a few of mine.
Reduce the stun time on FF to 3 seconds and/or get rid of the darkened screen.
Give Deep Wounds some sort of penalty until fully healed, but reduce the mend time.
Extend the duration of FF or reduce the cooldown.
Remove the swing and the power completely cancels. It can be very difficult to hit FF on console, so make it drain half the remaining bar per swing.
Remove the drain on the power from hitting a basic attack.
Rework the add-ons that extend Killer Instinct range, they really do not benefit you, you won't ever get to them with FF.
Rework Frank's Mixtape and Stab Wound Study.
-
FINALLY, HIGHER SENSITIVITY ON CONSOLE, MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!
AND A LEGION QOL CHANGE!

I think that overall, That's what they are trying to do. But it's harder than it sounds
I like Oni but there are some people that will say "there isn't anything I can do against him", " He runs too fast "," he just slides on walls then insta downs you", "infectious fright makes his power too good " and that makes them feel like options are being taken from them even if people consider him balanced.
I'd imagine that, Introducing new and exciting powers/interactions, making those powers definitive during the session , and not making them completely frustrating, a bit hard. All while being constrained to ideas that not only fit the theme of the killer, but are also within the limit of what resources you have.
Make Killers equal power on console and PC. I haven't run into any good Oni's yet, certainly not any that can flick like they seem to be able to on PC.
Legion, likewise, is crippled by low sensitivity and low FPS which make his power even worse to use.
Nurse also has problems on console, but that one Red Dress Nurse is still terrorizing Red Ranks.

The spoiler tag really only explains stuff about how I play killer and about me, just classification information, not really needed
So I am a killer main about (70%/30% with 70% being killer). I've got a bunch of rules that I play by.
- Avoid Camping/Tunneling/Slugging
- Always chase the rescue
- When all the gens are done, it's a no-holds barred match
- If you DS me when I clearly wasn't tunneling you, you get tunneled (basically if you punish me for something I didn't do, might as well do it).
This last rule, is the special case rule here... I've only got like 1.7k hours in the game, but have been playing since like 2017. I got really into it over the last year and half. Most people I know that plays this game consider DS an anti-tunneling perk. Even the people in the game I've met consider it an anti-tunneling perk... H
So this weekend, well playing killer I was DS'ed 10 times and I noticed something interesting. Lets get the normal 3 outta the way first. Two of the players called me a tunneler and got really salty. The last guy was not in chat so I couldn't talk to him. All of these people were over 1.2k hours (The guy in chat had a private profile). And yes, I generally check the profile people. I like to see there hours and if I played against a SWF after a game.
In the other 7 cases during end game chat talking to those players, they all agreed that I wasn't tunneling and that they used it because they had it and could use it. Now, not sure if this factors in they all had less than 300 hours.
Do new players not see DS as an anti-tunnel perk?
I do not think I qualify as a new player anymore, as I started in December of 2018. However, most people I meet do not see DS as a anti-tunnel perk. Yes, it helps, but that isn't it's main use to them.
Its main use is to add in a little layer of forgiveness or to buy time. Lots of people think of it as DH, it bails you out when you need it, i.e. when you make a mistake and if you use it right, it can buy you another 30 seconds.
-
I will pray for you. I hope everything goes well!

With the doctors new buff, I have noticed that the number of people playing the doctor and the number of games that I have lost against the doctor have increased. I attribute this to the doctors new static blast ability which reveals survivors in his terror radius. In my opinion, the current cool down of the ability is way too short and is in desperate need of a nerf. Similarly, the doctors static blast is able to interrupt survivors preforming actions such as dropping pallets and vaulting windows.
Do you feel that the doctor's abilities are balanced in the current meta?
I do. While his abilities do cripple some Survivors, the one's who adapt to his weird playstyle can find him easy to go against. It is completely possible to juke his Shock Therapy. As for his Static Blast, it functions like Legion does, in a way. Lots of information, but not a way to capitalize on it.

- Eliminating a Survivor early is the most efficient way for a Killer to play. In a 4v1 game about time management, killing off the weak link early is an extremely smart choice.
- Survivor has a Key. While this may not get rid of the Key entirely, it will make it more difficult for Survivors to use it, buying you time to win the match.
Those are my usual reasons.
-
The core of what you are saying is correct, the game is much more balanced now than it was in 2018 and certainly more balanced than release. However, I do not agree with your overall conclusion. Here is why:
At the highest level of play, Survivors hold the power to dictate the game. If you take 4 Survivors who make no mistakes, and play perfectly, then take a Killer who also plays perfectly, the Killer will usually lose. Why is that? Well, most Killers lack map pressure and the ability to get downs quickly. In the first 3 minutes of the match, the Survivors usually complete 3/5 of their objective, while the Killer generally completes anywhere from 1/12-3/12 of theirs.
Basically, the game is still unbalanced due to the time constraints put on Killers and Survivors ability to extend chases, but it is WAY better than it used to be.

How so? You started saying that it wasn't your experience, then you implied that I was simply wrong.

I do understand why they couldn't though. Freddy was a joke for a looooong time, but idk.

I believe Demo is decent, but has too many weaknesses survivors can abuse to good effect. The best thing I can think for a Demo are as follows:
- [QoL] Demo can disable his own portals and use them somewhere else.
- [Huge Buff] Survivors attempting to remove a portal will get pulled into the upside down by the Demogorgon if it travels to the portal they are removing. The survivors will come out the portal in the dying state in a cool animation.
- [QoL] Shred doesn't lock the camera after a successful attack.
I like all of these. I was kinda upset Demo didn't have anything to pull Survivors into the Upside-Down. So, I like all of these.
[QoL] Shred doesn't lower FPS to 5 on console.
-
Well, I used STBFL to quickly down a Bill. He quit and went on a racist rant about me and my family.
Turns out, Xbox doesn't stand for racism, so he got permabanned.

What killer's perks should I unlock?
I main Legion and have already unlocked all of their perks, who should I go for next? In my opinion I think The Shape...
Well, Myers is definitely fun to play and all of his perks are decent-very good.
Personally, I would suggest Clown or Bubba for their perks.
-
Dark Devotion is okay on certain Killers.
I'm All Ears is pretty situational but is very good on Legion, imo.
PWYF could use a QoL change, but yeah, I think it is very good.

I'm trying not to be salty, but the last few days I've been having really bad matches as survivor- not so much that I had a good killer or bad teammates, but that the killer never hooks any survivors- its constant slugging. At first I thought it was just a newbie mistake, but I've seen 5-6 different players downing all the survivors and never hooking. This is terrible- there's almost never a no mither or unbreakable to save the game. The killers let all the survivors bleed out and die on the ground- it was a terrible few games. I've reported them all, but wanted to know if anyone else has come across this problem- and if any mods see this, what is/are a realisitc response to this? I don't want to wait 2-3 minutes of crawling on the ground while the killer walks around and BMs me.
Slugging is not a reportable offense.

Bitter Murmer, NOED, Thrilling Tremors and Sloppy Butcher.
Add-Ons: Chewed Pen and Olsen's Address Book
That's just my recommendation, feel free to play around and figure out what YOU like :D
-
I think this is bait, but I'll go ahead and assume it isn't.
While I do not think he is super high tier, I don't think he is D-tier. He does everything Huntress does, slightly worse. For that reason, I generally put him close to Huntress. If Huntress is in B, then DeathSlinger is in low B or high C.

But Killers alreay have a higher killrate on that map than the others. Removing pallets makes that worse.
I might have been confusing, I apologize. What I was saying is that the map needs more pallets overall, because it is a small map, but it needs less super safe pallets. What I am referring to is the basement pallets, there are at least 4 god pallets on that map, but after those are gone, what do Survivors do? They have like, 3 unsafe pallets. They need more after those pallets are gone.
-
@Almo said:
Gideon's is one of the most Killer-sided maps in the game... despite the number of safe pallets.
I respectfully disagree. The amount of completely safe pallets is unacceptable and the amount of totally unsafe pallets is also unacceptable.
I don't think the map itself needs a rework, I just think the pallets need to be adjusted.
-
Just add in a concede button. It gives Survivors the escape points, but it lets the Killer out early in a game they do not want to play. Do not give any BP to the Killer.
Also, add it in for Survivors, give the Killer all the Sacrifice scoring they would have missed when the Survivors concede's. Do not give any BP to the Survivor.
-
It is better to tunnel early and eat DS so that you can tunnel later, in my opinion.

Lmao I didn't make the thread, I was responding to someone on this thread.
And no, it doesn't. Especially if it was recently; Legion needs all the add on help they can get. Old nurse and un-bugged spirit, though, didn't.
That's fair, I didn't look and I apologize.
Yeah, I did that run about a month ago.

Ok bro you dont play survivor, leave this to intellectuals who actually play both sides because there are a lot more factors to dull totems, its a waste of time, they can be hidden, it may be hard to tell if there are any left, god i hate people who only play one side
I usually do not have any problems cleansing totems.

You'd be surprised. I remember seeing people bragging about a 4k against a "sweaty toxic swf" with 4 blink/omegablink ruin noed nurse, prayer beads spirit, even insta-huntress with old tinkerer back in the day.
It was, and still is, pointless. Imagine bragging you only lost 1 gen with old forever freddy.
So, you are making a thread, mocking people who likely haven't been on the Forums in 6 months.
Anyway, I 4K'd 25 games in a row with Legion at Rank 1 a month or so ago. Does that mean I'm playing OP Killer with broken add-ons?

He is allowed to do as he wishes. It isn't exactly good sportsmanship, but it isn't breaking any rules either.
Just another reason we need a "concede" button

Nobody has said that it isn't, that's just an example. Nothing is confirmed yet.
I appreciate you guys looking into this.
I think you can really see the problem when it is arguably better for the Killer to eat DS early then not tunnel.

I am very disappointed he is not getting any adjustments from the PTB to release. Did they say why they were not making any changes to an arguably very weak Killer?

I wouldn't know what they would do, most killers aren't very strong as is. I do agree that if I load up a game as a survivor, I tend to play Pig, and see it's a doctor my heart sinks. This is because I know odds of winning just dropped heavily simply because of the character. I love that there is a strong Killer for once, even if I don't use them, as KM (Killer Mains) have been needing some love. I would rather see a strong well balanced Doctor than what we currently have. That being said, I agree that the Devs shouldn't take him off the shelf for tune ups. However I do think that KM deserve the little free wins the Doctor offers right now. So DBD Devs, work on him but let KMs have a bit of fun for a while. ;)
-The Pig main
But...he isn't even THAT good. He still annihilates low ranked Survivors and struggles against high ranks. If you can learn to dodge the shock, you win.

It is, maps are not well designed, gen rush still exist, there are only 4 viable killers... The only thing to make some time was ruin.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1138776#Comment_1138776
Playing sweaty isn't fun at all dude. That's not a good solution.
It was actually. Ruin destroyed Survivors who couldn't hit greats but did nothing to good Survivors. It only helped you win harder, so to speak.
Games are fast right now, it IS a problem. But it is allowing the Devs to slow the game down as they see fit. While Ruin was still a thing, they really couldn't. Now that it is out of the way, what excuse can people opposed give? NOED?
I really do not care who you play. I play Legion at Rank 1 and do just fine. I even 4K'd 25 games in a row with him. I play Spirit on the side as well, but that is neither here nor there.

Nah, they do care. Ruin nerf needed to happen, it just happened at a very bad time. It sucks, I know, but it can only make you an even better player.

Where are these numbers coming from? 8/10 there were 2, 5/10 there were 3, 3/10 there were 4, adding up to 16/10- explain?
I'm saying that out of the ten games, 8 had at least two, meaning 2 games had just one DS. Out of the 8 games with 2+, 5 of them had 3 or more DS, meaning three games had two DS. The 3 out of the 5 games with 3+ DS had 4 total DS.

I don't go after Claudette's, unless they are being, well, annoying. Sabo'ing hooks and bodyblocking does count.
Actually, my first ever game as Killer was against a toxic Claudette squad.
It was around November 2018, I was playing Wraith. 4 Claudette's. Three Red Ranks and one Rank 20. They all had flashlights and I had Predator lololol. I got lightburned and run around the whole game. killed the Rank 20 and got harassed for the next 3 hours with messages and party invites. I didn't play again til January.
But hey, I'm here now, I just do not like Claudette's.
-
I would say no longer than 30-45 seconds based on how fast games can go and assuming equal skill, of course.
