  • I know they probably can't do it, but a Blighted Demogorgon would look SICK.

  • I mean, it could work.

It would prevent those really long hide and seek games, like you mentioned.

It would also give a decent incentive to heal and it could force Survivors out of the Exit Gates earlier.

I like the idea, but it does seem more like a QoL change than anything, so I doubt it would be implemented soon. That being said, I do hope that it is.

  • I agree. Not much of a difference between Console Survivors and PC Survivors, especially not at Red Ranks.

  • Mori's definitely aren't fun, but if you use them in that jerk way (mori'ng straight off of hook) you will almost always de-pip.

Keys, on the other hand, can turn a game where Survivors would've de-pipped into a game where they pip.

Using Mori's in their most broken way, and the way that most people have a problem with, is detrimental to the Killer and will result in that Killer losing Rank. Keys, on the other hand, reward Survivors for having them by allowing them to instantly turn a game around and gain Rank.

    Both should be changed.

I played a lot of Oni before all these bugs made him super frustrating to play >:(

And i can say that you can very easily flick up to 90°.

His turning is pretty much the same on console too.

But yeah,i miss some good oni matches too,but most people rather like playing freddy, spirit, deathslinger etc.

Such a shame because oni is so fun to play against :(

I somewhat disagree. I do not personally play Oni, but I have seen and played against enough Rank 1 Oni's on Console and PC to see the difference.

Hmm,but Oni on console isn't really much different from PC though.

The only thing that is annoying are the bad FPS.

He definitely can't flick, nor can he turn very well. The FPS just piles on.

Regardless, it has been a long time since I've seen a Console Oni, which is a shame, since I actually like him and his design.

  • I think he'll be just like Oni. Popular on PC, but awful on Console.

I haven't seen a Console Oni in months.

  • I mean, I feel like Myers, Oni, Freddy and Demo have a pretty good shot.

Myers is inhumanely strong and durable. He is Evil Incarnate.

Oni looks just as strong and durable as Myers.

    Freddy has weird dream magic.

Demogorgon is literally a monster from an alternative dimension. It killed an entire room full of soldiers as they lit it up, after being beat with a spiked bat and set on fire.

  • Cn you not still prevent hooks?

Plus, juggling was a pretty common solution that usually resulted in a hook.

You could slug people today, but it's pretty common for them to be picked up and then they have DS for the next time.

You have to be hooked to use it. That is a major nerf.

It also allowed it to be a 100% guaranteed use if the Killer picks you up.

The stun was also increased from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.

Seems like less of a nerf, more of a change.

Ruin is amazing if you can, you know, pressure gens (you’re actual primary objective, not “getting hooks”).

dont care to go point by point on the others.

if you actual look at the multiple reasons why ruin was nerfed, you’d see that can’t be applied to DS. And, oh yeah, DS WAS ALREADY NERFED :). If you’d like old DS back, I’d very much welcome it

I mean, good luck pressuring gens with a perk that can be destroyed.

I would prefer Old DS tbh, at least you can juggle people and it was only three seconds.

Allow me to remind you why Ruin was nerfed,

1.) Incredibly high use in Red Ranks and high use overall. This applies to DS.

2.) Ruin creates passive pressure without the Killer having to do anything. For DS, the mere presence of an Obsession will force many Killer's to respect DS, not knowing whether or not Survivors actually have it.

3.) Ruin overly punished new players and was inconsistent. DS punishes newer players who may not know about it (and it can be abused) and it does not actually stop real tunneling.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1624822#Comment_1624822

Wasnt it nerfed before ruin though lol. It isn't a get out of jail card anymore.

It got changed, I wouldn't say it was an outright nerf. It got buffed in some ways and nerfed in others.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Well, now. If people cared less about "efficiency" or end screen result and cared more about the game, this wouldn't be an issue.

I know that I've also stated clearly that survivor and killer shouldn't be compared, but this one I cannot leave alone. Killers have access to Hex: Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, Thanataphobia, Sloppy Butcher, Surge and Dying Light. They all serve the purpose of SLOWING the survivor game. Survivors have Decisive Strike.

Idk if that is quite fair.

Ruin isn't that great anymore, it's more a nuisance.

PGTW is a god-tier perk but it rewards you for hooking Survivors (your objective.) It doesn't reward the Killer with passive pressure or for losing.

    Thana isn't good.

Dying Light is alright. Really good at near max stacks, but it won't help you win games, it'll just help you win harder, if that makes sense.

    Sloppy is good.

Surge would be good without the cooldown. As it stands it's pretty meh.

Anyway, the point is, that if you look at the Devs reasons for nerfing Ruin and apply it to DS, DS should've been nerfed a long time ago.

It seems to me that your perception about the difficulty of legion is extremely skewed, and that you maybe don't know how to play Blight. Hitting and running? That isn't a thing you should be doing at the best of times, not unless there is a huge concentration of survivors in one area.

And, like it or not, a lack of instadowns doesn't mean that two similar killers suddenly become completely different. 230ms, straight-line charge, similar cooldown time, similar map mobility. They even have similar in-loop use, except instead of curving you're ricocheting.

Whereas Legion has an uncounterable, extremely fast first injure and nothing else. They move at 130ms, they have full control with no real downsides since not seeing scratchmarks rarely has any effect, their power applies deep wounds, it goes away when you hit someone out of it, it gets refreshed when you hit someone in it, it cannot down anyone, you get Killer Instinct on people within your TR after a hit... I genuinely don't see the comparison.

Then explain why Legion is consistently at the bottom of tier lists? Nobody likes playing against him, I know that much.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/192173/legion-and-the-blight

I've been thinking the same thing. Legion doesn't need to be as fast, since they have full control of their movement, but maybe a touch faster. The fact that you can get Blight's cool down to about 1 second indicates that Legion's cool down needs to be lower than it is. And I still think that the biggest thing Legion needs is to not be kicked from their power on a miss.

Not getting kicked out would be nice.

Removing the screen darkening would also be cool.

Lowering the cooldown would be awesome.

Fixing his add-ons would be great too.

EDIT: also let him see scratchmarks until he hits a Survivor with Feral Frenzy.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Legions power is a borderline free injure+slowdown with no counterplay whatsoever, with the possibility for some decent information and some juggling if the survivors are... kinda dumb or just uncoordinated. That isn't something you can just buff and expect it to not be ridiculous. (And, yeah, Legion has the easiest and least-counterable power in the game, it's just that their power only injures, not downs.)

And, to be honest, the comparison really isnt there. Blight is closer to Billy that Legion - a 230ms straight-line dash? Sound familiar?

I like Legion. I think they could use some buffs. But their power really is extremely easy to use and completely uncounterable.

It actually isn't. If Survivors go through a window and even attempt to juke you, they usually can, since you can't see scratchmarks. Plus, I play on Console, where my FPS drops to 10 when I activate Feral Frenzy, so that is likely skewing my perception.

Legion stomps newer Survivors, but he gets absolutely decimated if the Survivors have any clue as to what they are doing.

Blight does not have instant downs, he is not really close to Billy. He is a very fast, stab and run Killer who has decent mobility if you use your bounces correctly, Billy has nothing like that.

As for your last point, they need some significant buffs (so does Clown.) Their power, while it may be easy to use, has almost zero value against good Survivors who know that if they do not heal, the Legion almost always loses. That's his win condition, if the Survivors understand that healing will waste time, you will almost always lose. This makes him pretty awful against good Survivors and there isn't anything the Killer can do about it.

  • @KingFrost said:

Blight is a lot harder to control, whereas Legion controls like normal. A much faster Legion who could use his power every 10 seconds with a short stun would be a bit too strong. Legion definitely needs some buffs, but I don't think looking at Blight is the right answer. Legion's stun needs to be reduced, and probably let him actually have a way to down people with his power.

I am not saying that Blight is a model for what Legion should be. But it does seem like Legion was the test and Blight is the final product to me. It really highlights how Legion should've been.

Blight doesn't seem very hard to control on PC, people flick with him just like the flick with Billy or Oni, but on Console, yeah, Blight is pretty difficult to control. Plus, with the FPS on Console, if you use FF as Legion, it's pretty easy to get juked out of it. But I do understand your point.

These would be nice changes, too. I made my idea because if their motive was to make a Killer specifically for map pressure, why not make him more competent in doing so? Your ideas work, too. I don't think there's anything wrong with having strong Killers. Counterplay is okay, but making them extremely weak to the point where they're useless? I don't think it's fun for anybody.

Legion is still frustrating to go against, and I would say even more frustrating to play. I had a rework thread a while back that I posted, where I completely re-designed their power. You can check it out if you like. It is kinda similar to yours.

  • I still don't think he is good on Console. I think he'll end up like Oni, good on PC, but bad on the Consoles. I can't remember the last time I saw a Xbox Oni, but hey, if you are enjoying him, good for you :D

  • I would be completely satisfied if the Devs merely did some QoL changes to Legion, then we could see where they were.

    For example,

Reduce the fatigue time. There is no reason that Legion needs a longer cooldown than Nurse.

Get rid of the power drain on basic attack. This is left over from his previous state.

Remove the screen darkening on Fatigue, it is already difficult enough to catch Survivors and it gives me a headache.

Allow Legion to see scratchmarks until he hits a Survivor with FF, it is incredibly easy to juke a Legion while he is in FF.

Remove full cancel on miss, instead have it drain 50% of the bar, then have it cancel the power if you miss again.

Fix Frank's Mixtape, you have to throw the game to make it work.

Fix Stab Wound Study, it doesn't do anything.

Rework the Killer Instinct add-ons, they do almost nothing and I haven't seen anyone run them.

  • Trapper. He isn't OP or anything, I just get really nervous playing against him lol

Lowering skillcap isn't what he needs honestly.

He needs increased reward for performing well or changes that make him less dependant on circumstances beyond killer's reach like map spawns or survivors doing easy juke which is barely countered.

It's more likely that they will make his power easier to use than change it entirely, I think.

  • @Hero_awesome said:

Upvote to the bank man. Completely agree he's a ABSOLUTELY worse legion. The whole chapter as a whole isn't bad but man if all they could come up with is a pinball killer then jeez. Wish they just had a FNAF chapter instead.

Yeah, I normally try to wait a bit, but he really isn't impressive. I'd like his power a lot more if it had a lower skill cap but yeah, right now, his power seems like a power on the same level as Legion, meaning in most situations, it hurts you to use it to try to down Survivors.

I'm writing this post with a heavy heart due to the wave of dc's that have been plaguing our beloved game. From what I've gathered from in-game experience and reading this message board, the culprit seems to be a portion of the console base that are convinced that it is unfair that they are required to play against "superior" pc players. I'm here to tell you that you severely misunderstand the situation and your "protest disconnects" are only ruining the health of the game.

How can I say this you may ask? It's because I've been playing DBD on pc for 15 months now and . . . I've only ever used a CONTROLLER!!! Yes, I know this is sacrilege but frankly I don't care. I switched to pc gaming from consoles several years back because controller support had become so widely adopted. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's the best of both worlds really. You get the granular control over fps and such but you can sit back and relax with a controller in hand. I sit in a computer chair all day for work. I don't want to have to when playing games at home and that's why we live in a world with options.

Because of this I can tell you that, aside from framerates, pc players do not have an overall advantage over console players. I've only ever used a controller and I've managed to be able to learn how to loop killers well and escape as survivor. I've also managed to hold my own as a controller killer and secured many 4k's over pc survivors. I think too many console players have heard the phrase "pc master race" too many times and have taken it to heart when it was really a phrase born of a time when pc's and consoles were completely different beasts with very few overlapping titles.

I know this is a long post but my point is this recent wave of disconnects is not proving any point and only damaging the health of the game. You're just going to have to learn to adapt to some new playstyles. It's no different than having to learn to adapt when a new killer comes out or a killer is reworked which is something we all have to deal with every few months or so.

TL;DR: The playing field is more fair than you think, you just have adjust to different play styles. I can say this with confidence because I've only played on pc and never used m/k, only a controller. Please stop dc'ing. You're ruining the game experience for everyone.

PC is at an advantage and that needs to be fixed.

Their FPS is higher than Consoles. It is borderline impossible to play Legion on some maps on Console, and it is also insanely difficult to play Oni or Nurse in general because of the differences between M&K and controllers.

  • I run Sloppy Butcher, Corrupt Intervention, Pop Goes the Weasel and Monitor and Abuse.

Corrupt: Gives me extra time at the start to find and down Survivors.

Pop Goes the Weasel: Allows for good gen control.

Monitor: Lowers my Terror Radius and allows me to sneak up on Survivors more easily, allowing for shorter chases and making the Survivors want to heal, if only for a buffer health state.

Sloppy: Since it no longer applies on Frenzy, but you still have to down people, I still use it. It makes it take longer for Survivors to heal, when coupled with Monitor, it can force Survivors to heal for a long time.

  • Killer: 3-4K is a win, or whenever I pip which is usually a 4K.

Survivor: When at least two Survivors escape.

Its not about ease of playing. Its about learning mechanics. Freddy and doc both have ways of making chases easier. A few games as doc and you don't have to worry about windows or pallets. And snare Freddy is brainless.

No, absolutely not, Wraith is one of the worst killers to play if you're new and don't know what you're doing. Survivors will run away because you won't be coming from an unexpected angle, you won't use good add-ons as you won't have any unlocked, and you'll be forced to use his horrible teachables.

I think you are overestimating new Survivors. Wraith isn't good at high ranks without add-ons, but he dominates low ranks since he is difficult to see and moves faster than normal when cloaked.

  • For Killer, a Legion overhaul. He isn't fun to play against and he can be miserable to play.

For Survivor, something to do during queue times. It can be really boring.

In general, instant buy on BloodWebs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1598071#Comment_1598071

The stealth aspect is why I put him as the 2nd best new player killer. I just think learning how to get that first hit without being able to sneak up is important for most of the killers.

And really any killer at low ranks is going to dominate except maybe nurse. True Legion seems like a DC magnet but nothing really to do about that.

True, but it can be diffcult for some players to mindgame at first, which is why I generally recommend Wraith. With Legion, you are almost forced to mindgame. I think your suggest is good, but as soon as you get to Green Ranks, people are gonna start actually attempting to loop.

  • I feel like Wraith is actually better for this (and he is stealthy, so it'll be easier for newer players) but yes, the core of what you said is 100% correct. Legion is basic enough that you really have to be a god-tier player to use him against good Survivors, therefore, he is a great Killer to start out with.

My only issue is that playing Legion at low ranks is basically a free win. I know many people DC as soon as they see Deep Wounds and even if they don't, it is super easy to win because of how much they will try to heal.

I don't like the power because of applying pressure solely actually, there's something that people not realize about legion.

    Map and vision control.

You have everytime a power that gives you the location of every survivor in your terror radius, that's strong if you know how to use it.

Sometimes I just hit an injured survivor with the power, just to get that information.

It's like having a constant infections fright.

Also, people hate playing against legion. I also use that in order to get better performances. I just tilt people with legion, so their performance goes worse and worse.

Edit: I also play and love doctor for the same reason as legion. I use people tilting as a tool to win.

Less so on map control and more on information. Legion sucks at map traversal. If he didn't eat a 4 second stun, he might be okay at it.

I am well aware of how to use Legion to his, admittedly few, strengths. You need Survivors to feel pressured into healing, make them feel like they need that buffer health state. That's why I use M&A. It lets me sneak up on them, sort of.

I never feel like people is shitting on me when they "talk bad" about legion.

I love the killer, a lot. And I always have good performances.

But I understand that people might not like it.

The things why people hate legion are the things why I love legion.

Edit: legion is a little bit like wraith in the sense that it's not for everyone. Not everyone can play legion and perform decently. Sure it can be an "easy killer", but.....I don't know how to explain this, legion have to fit your play style in order for him to work.

This might sound like nonsense, but it's not.

I mean, I main Legion and do "well" as him. I definitely do not put him as a even mediocre Killer at higher ranks. He just isn't good once people have some sense of looping and when to heal.

His win condition is simple. If Survivors heal, you win. If they don't, you lose.

Don't get me wrong, I love the rush down playstyle and their cosmetics are amazing, but their power isn't good.

  • @Carlosylu said:

He's not already in that state? You really don't see him as the lowest tier along clown? And cause Legion would become obsolete this killer has to be C tier?

Imo, neither Legion nor Blight can get much worse. The counter to Blight is to just run straight at him before he bounces. There is literally almost no way he can hit you. Even if he cancels his power, he still has a stun to eat.

Same with Legion. All Survivors have to do is run in a straight line and Legion probably won't be able to catch them. And if they don't heal, they'll win 9/10 times. Plus, Legion is forced to eat a longer stun than Nurse does, for a power that often does more harm than good.

  • Buff Solo's to SWF levels, buff Killers accordingly. That's my take.

Also, even a meme-y SWF can make the game miserable for the Killer.

survivors tools dont need nerfs as long killers like Spirit, Freddy, Pyriamid head, iri huntress etc exist.

weak killers need buffs and BS designed killers need to balanced first.

the game is full with dead zones.

Pyramid Head is mid at best. Huntress is getting weaker and weaker with every patch though I do agree Iri Head needs an adjustment. Spirit and Freddy are fine. Strong? Sure. But they are well-balanced.

The game has just as many deadzones as really strong loops.

Thats just not true. To say most survivors suck at the game. You just seem like you have a salt fueled bias.

I don't think that is entirely false.

Most, not all, but most Survivors in Red Ranks are boosted. It is very easy to rank up as Survivor, especially in SWF. I myself, was not a good Survivor for a looooong time, but I managed to play Solo and get to Red Ranks fairly easily.

For Killer, it is a lot harder to rank up at Red Ranks, you really do have to play almost perfectly (according to the game) in order to pip. This results in a huge disparity in actual skill. Some Survivors will absolutely destroy Killers since they know how to play and if both Survivors and Killers play perfectly (against most Killers on most maps) the Survivors will win simply because the Killer will run out of time.

On the other hand though, a majority of Red Rank Survivors will get dominated by Red Rank Killers and then, falsely believing that they have reached the highest rank, will complain that Killers are OP and need nerfs, when they should be in Purple or Green Ranks.

  • Probably not. I believe this was answered officially awhile back, though I can't remember when. Essentially, from what I remember which may be wrong, they don't want to upgrade gore because some countries have very strict rating policies and they will have to get the game re-rated, essentially.

  • @azame said:
